A small Whit-area cart with Mexico City roots, pressing tortillas to order and rotating specials like pambazos and huaraches. Loved by locals and students for bright salsas and careful technique.

This place is fabulous!! I love the vibe, they were quick and the food was great. I’ll definitely come back. The neighborhood is very cool.

Google
Not a good place to be a person who orders the same thing every time, because their whole menu is amazing. Crab rangoons are juicy and full of filling, not those dry ones you can get in some places. Shrimp pad Thai is delicious, and has a good amount of large, succulent shrimp. Even their house salad has a dressing that have me licking the container. Absolutely amazing. Thank you guys for being awesome, your food is phenomenal and fills our bellies and our hearts.

Google
I didn't get to try the food ... b/c even though it said they are open on Tuesday both on Google and on their own website ... they are closed on TUESDAY!!! Their menu on their own site is two years old so the prices are not what's listed. 30 min of life wasted! Update your site!!!

Checked out a new to us food truck Kai's Asian Street Food, and it was very pleasing. The Hat Yai Fried Chicken was a large portion of juicy deliciousness and it comes with Sticky Rice. We also had Mango over beautiful Blue Rice that was just the right amount of sweetness. I will be going back soon. We have been back many times and have not been disappointed. The Pad Thai has Rice Noodles, Egg, Bean Sprouts, Peanuts, Shallots, Scallions, and a Lime Wedge sauteed in Pad Thai Sauce and it is fantastic! The Fried Crispy with Thai Sweet Chili Sauce with Thai Sticky Rice or Jasmine Rice is a favorite. Crab Rangoon is Fried Crab and Cream Cheese in a Wrap Wonton Skin served with Sweet Chili Sauce and they are an excellent appetizer. The Sesame Balls are filled with Sweet Red Bean Paste and are delectable.

This place was Great! It's in the Whitaker neighborhood. It's a cute little food truck with a small covered seating area, and two extra picnic bench tables with umbrellas. A sweet man took our order- #9 Hat Yai Fried Chicken #7 Crispy Pork #13 Shoyu Ramen(x2) 1 can Coke & Thai Ice Tea My favorite was the chicken, my son liked the pork, and we both loved the soup. It was all so very good, we are definitely trying more from their menu soon. Portions are priced appropriately with food left over to take home. As we left, I stepped up to the window and told the guys inside about something my mom used to say... "If doesn't get on your shirt, it's not good," and then I pointed at all the spells that had fallen on my shirt while I ate their food. We all laughed.. definitely a hidden gem.

Google
I’ve been coming here for several years for their tonkotsu ramen and crab rangoons. Easily my favourite ramen spot in Eugene. The guy at the window is always super sweet too.

Google
The food cart place is amazing… it had the best fry chicken and chicken bulgogi. The place has a nice vibe to it with few tables across. The food was delicious and excellent.

Good Asian street food across from Ninkasi Brewing.

Yelp
Can't say enough about how much we love this place during the pandemic and continue to love it as a staple for delivery in our home.

Yelp
One of my favorite Thai food spots in town for sure! There isn't a single thing I've tried now that I didn't love after multiple visits! I don't even bother giving specific recommendations because no matter what you get, you will not be disappointed!

Yelp
This is my go to for food carts in the area. Their fried chicken is always delicious, and I have never had a Thai iced tea here that wasn't decedent or delicious. This visit I got some Thai spring rolls and Thai donuts. The spring rolls were fresh and crunchy, and had a good amount of filling. The sauce they come with is the basic sauce, but delicious. The donuts were sweet and crispy. I was worried they would have too much oil, but it wasn't an issue at all. Great food. I wish some of the seats were a little more accessible, but it is a food cart so I don't expect too much. It is a nice spot and has a good ambience. The service was pretty quick and they were kind. All in all a great spot!

Yelp
Another solid place for Thai food, albeit a food truck. There are a few trucks in the food truck pod on Van Buren in The Whit and this one caught my eye. We ordered the shoyu ramen, the recommended hat yai fried chicken and crispy pork rice plates and the Thai donuts for dessert. (Note: I recommend eating the donuts where they are fresh and hot.) I give them 5 stars for presentation! The rice was separately packaged from the meat so it wouldn't get greasy--GENIUS. The ramen was unremarkable--the broth was quite tasty. Both the pork & chicken dishes were also delicious, not greasy; I wish we remembered to ask for extra sweet chili sauce. The food is made to order, so there may be a brief wait, about a 10 minutes if you did not call ahead. A buzzer is handed to you and will sound when your order is ready. Definitely give them a try. I looking forward to trying something else on their menu.

Yelp
I was sick in bed and needed some ramen so I ordered from Kai Asian Street food. I had the Tonkatsu Ramen and I am seriously addicted. I now order it pretty much once a week and crave it all the time. I just want to drink the broth. It's the best ramen I've ever had. I'd like to try other things on their menu but can't go without order the ramen. So, so good. They're also always super friendly. Love this place.
google avatar

Corinne B.

Yelp
They also have good taiyaki (fish shaped pastry filled with bean paste) and sesame balls! Very good. This was another online order. No word on ambiance. The taiyaki reminds me of pancakes, only they aren't pancakes. Sesame balls have more of a fried taste to the mouth. Very good.

Yelp
Best Authentic Thai Food in Eugene: Delicious unique dishes all across the menu. Pad Thai is phenomenal and a staple you must try. Coconut shrimp is essential with a perfect tasty crunch each time I go. This is constantly in the dinner rotation! Give it a try
google avatar

Yelp
Located in the whit, right by ninkasi is kai Asian street food. Food truck that seemed to be fairly permanently posted up. Really good ramen on a cold day. Warmed up my soul. Broth was heavy on coconut milk and fill. Plenty of acid which I enjoyed. Have not sampled any other dishes yet but I was very happy with my order!
google avatar

Yelp
What's up Yelpies!!! If you live in Eugene and haven't eaten at this food truck spot your missing out on some really great food, service, and flavor. My wife had the Pad Thai and I had the Hat Yai (Fried Chicken) the Pad Thai was very tasty and the fried chicken is not of this earth... really !! Imagine juicy chicken with basil, onions and a sweet chili dipping sauce... then finish up with a Thai Donut yes that's correct. This deep fried flaky donut is coated with condensed milk and peanut crumbles.... Definitely a cheat day
google avatar

Cianna B.

Yelp
The best rangoons in Eugene! We had a great stop here for dinner on a warm summer night. Service was fast and friendly. We ordered crab rangoons, pad thai, and a pork curry. Food came out quickly and was piping hot. The rangoons were so crispy and the perfect ratio of filling to wrapper. Both the pad thai and curry were very tasty as well. It ended up being so much food that I got three meals out of my pad thai, that's a good value!

Yelp
So flippin good! I am staying at an Airbnb in the neighborhood and this is my go to place. So yummy. I had the number nine hat yai chicken and ginger salad. The chicken was perfection and the dressing on the salad was divine. Definitely check this place out if you're in town. Wish I had food like this in Colorado.
google avatar

Chrystal F.

Yelp
Just WOW! Tried this eatery on a whim and the food was so good and flavorful, the sauces were delicious. There's nothing I did not like or eat slowly... I ordered coconut shrimp, chicken satay, Thai dumplings and Thai tea. I highly recommend!!!

Katie L.

Yelp
Love their tonkotsu ramen and they are so kind. Food is always excellent. Solid spot and much better than the other Asian cuisine in the neighborhood.

William B.

Yelp
Excellent broth, but the seemingly instant noodles detracted from the dish. I'll keep trying to find broth and noodles to
google avatar

Megan S.

Yelp
Coconut shrimp!!!! Even after enduring a 10-15 minute delivery drive to us, they were somehow still crispy and full of coconut flavor. We also ordered Pad Thai and Pad Kee Mao. Both were pretty standard (not out of this world) but good. However, the serving sizes seemed VERY generous which scores points. I would eat (or order delivery) from here again, mostly because of those delectable little shrimpies! I'm curious to try out some of the other menu options, like a curry.

Yelp
This is a newer food truck to the Whiteaker area. Now that Ninkasi has closed their tasting room I never really go to this area anymore, but I noticed Kai on a recent visit to this area if the Whit and the menu really stood out to me. The words "THAI DONUTS" just jumped out. So, I had to. Donuts soaked in coconut milk and with a sprinkle of peanuts. They came in a box of 5 and I, unfortunately, had all five. I just loved the soft squishy texture of the dough combined with the crunch from the peanuts. They were sweet but not so uncomfortably sweet that my teeth ache, which typically occurs when I bit into a regular donut. I also ordered an iced beverage called a Butterfly Pea tea. Never heard of this before so I had to try it. The drink is the beautiful rich purple color and the taste is slightly tart, reminding me of Acai flavor. I would love to come back and try their vegetarian friendly main dishes. They have a punch card for main dish orders and I do love a punch card.

Yelp
The Chicken Pad Thai with a side of sweet chili sauce on top is phenomenal! Plus, everyone who works here is beyond nice. Service is quick too!
google avatar

Will S.

Yelp
I've been here twice now, delicious both times. The sticky rice is especially good. (I realize that making sticky rice shouldn't be that hard, but this place really nailed it.) I hope to be back soon.

Kai B.

Yelp
This was one of the first places my partner and I ate at when we moved here, and it has never disappointed. The food is always good (my usual is the tonkotsu ramen, but the vegan ramen and pad thai are other favourites, and the sesame balls are a perfect dessert) , and the people who work there are extremely kind, compassionate, professional, and familiar. The outdoor seating is shielded from the road, which makes it a nice, self-contained spot for lunch or dinner.
google avatar

Benza C.

Yelp
I've gotten orders from Kai a handful of times since discovering them a few months ago. Everything that I've had delivered has always been very warm/hot temperature wise (awesome), and just as important, authentically prepared delicious food. My personal favorites are Chicken Bulgogi (if I could get pork that'd be sick, just sayin), Hat Yai fried chicken, and Ramen Shoyu, in addition to the requisite Thai Iced Tea. One of my new go to spots.
google avatar

Ashley A.

Yelp
Amazing food and awesome workers! This is for sure one of my top places to eat at! The atmosphere is good too.
google avatar

Samantha E.

Yelp
I come here way too many times, no matter what day it is, I'm always craving this place! The food is always fresh, great portions for the price and so so yummy! I usually get the Spring Rolls, Pad Thai with Chicken, Chicken Bulgogi, and Mango Sticky Rice for dessert. I'm always saying I'll try something new, but it's so hard to steer away from my usual because it's so good! They also have stamp cards at the window, you get a stamp for each entree you order, and when the card is full you get a free entree. I also enjoy the ambiance of their cart with a little sitting area by the window. The workers here are very nice too, they really appreciate their customers! If you're ever in the area or craving Thai food, I HIGHLY recommend this place!!
google avatar

Abigail F.

Yelp
I tried a few dishes as take-out. The pad kee mao is quite tasty--basil sauce is tangy and spicy and addictive. The pad se eew (my usual favorite dish) was odd. It tasted surprisingly like molasses and lacked the right kind of noodles. (Those wide fresh noodles are my favorite; Krob Krua makes that dish much better.) All of this would have added up to a 4-star review, but: in both dishes, the broccoli was inedibly weird. Something was off. I don't know if it was spoiled or just a weird broccoli. Had a kind of dirt-like flavor and killed the food mood for me. That said, the menu looks good and I'd be up for trying other things.
google avatar

Darcey H.

Yelp
What a gem! The quality is really good. I ordered the vegetarian ramen - and it was so incredibly flavorful. Normally I would get a meat based stock but was really craving some extra veggies, and this over delivered on flavor. everything on the menu looks so good I can't wait to order it all.
google avatar

Dev G.

Yelp
I stopped here for a quick snack. Got the Thai chicken fried dumplings and the jalapeño poppers which seemed like the frozen store bought kind but I might be wrong. Would have loved a better dipping sauce ... good service and good prices. Times are weird and I want them to survive so I will return and definitely try more non fried foods soon to give more stars!

Joi C.

Yelp
Yay! Another two days of dinner from Kai Asian Food truck. Awesome Partner and I first noticed this food truck on our walks to Delta Ponds from our digs in the Whit. I've enjoyed their pad thai countless times. One receives an ample mound of rice noodles in which are nestled succulent flavor bombs of lean chicken. More recently I've chosen the chicken satay skewers. One order of four skewers and rice is dinner for two days with some fruit. What goes into your peanut sauce? It's heavenly.
google avatar

Emily B.

Yelp
We ordered the Crispy Pork, coconut shrimp, and chicken skewers, it was a great meal! Delivered hot and delicious. Love supporting a local business, will come back again.
google avatar

Perrin D.

Yelp
I love this food cart, it's something I think about in the morning wishing they were open for morning beverages. The Thai tea was perfect sweet orangey goodness. Butterfly pea tea was yummy lemonade tart purple. Food was hot and my favorite thing on the menu so far is the Pad Kee Mow. There was a good ratio of veg, and chicken to noodles. I haven't had any deserts yet but I look forward to coming back to try more. I ordered over the phone, great customer service! Prompt takeaway service
google avatar

Jay P.

Yelp
It was awesome to see that there was a new Thai place to try and expand my Pad Thai experiences, so I stopped by. As mentioned I like Pad Thai so I that was my go-to. The staff was friendly and the order was out quick and I was on my way home. It was a very short ride home, but when I opened the box the noodles we're pretty much dry and not enough sauce. Also there was no lime wedge. The portion was good for the $8.95 price, but was dry, lacked flavor, and was just bland. Also the chicken was over cooked and tough. I really was hoping for a great experience, but was left disappointed. I hope they were just having a off day and maybe I will have another chance to try it.
google avatar

Isaac B.

Yelp
I was delighted to see that there was an asian street food cart right down the street from the hostel I was staying at. Kai Asian Street Food did not disappoint. Rangoons were delicious- not too creamy and good chunks of crab meat. Pad Thai was delicious, the noodles were soft and the chicken was good and moist. Would highly recommend!

Sydney G.

Yelp
Crab rangoons straight bussin. Highly recommend. I got there and ordered and she literally handed me some piping hot crab rangoons. A good filling ration, good amount of crab. Only thing is I prefer the sweet and sour sauce for my crab Rangoon but they provide sweet and chili.
google avatar

Melissa S.

Yelp
We were really excited to try this place out! And, honestly, the food was really good. The people were also really nice! Normally I would just ignore this because things happen, but we got hair in all three of our orders. And I'm talking cooked into our food. One was embedded in the calamari better, so that was a fun surprise. Didn't photograph that one...it was not a pretty picture. The first one we shrugged off, but we were pretty upset by the third. Maybe it was our unlucky day. Either way, they might want to invest in some hair nets. Did 2 stars because we would have thoroughly enjoyed our meal otherwise.
google avatar

Norman L.

Yelp
This place is great. I usually order the fried chicken and the pad kee mao. The order always gets to my house quickly and very hot. The quantities are very generous, the prices are very reasonable, and the taste is fantastic. I highly recommend it.
google avatar

Gabriel Y.

Yelp
I've had their food seven times now. Every time, everything has been absolutely delicious! At this point, I have tried basically everything on the menu, and it has all been wonderful. As a certified Very Hungry Person, I sometimes feel like their portion sizes are a little too small. So, if you're a VHP like me, bring a buddy with a smaller appetite, and make them share with you.
google avatar

Anne C.

Yelp
This is my favorite Thai place in town! I love the pad Thai and crab Rangoon! Prices are great and really friendly staff- totally recommend.
google avatar

Lilli K.

Yelp
Always a great time. I love their crab cream cheese rangoons and pad Thai. It's delicious.

Kathy H.

Yelp
Good quick lunch and portions. Nice location with seating, glad we found it traveling.

Ryan L.

Yelp
Portion size was bigger than I expected for both the entree and dessert. Great taste and ingredients.

Justin H.

Yelp
One of my go to food trucks in the Whittaker. Food is consistent and tasty and staff are always welcoming.
google avatar

Goddess G.

Yelp
One of the best food carts in Eugene. I have tried many of the items on the menu and special board and haven't once been disappointed. Food is fresh and flavorful. Sweet people running the cart as well. I always feel good about supporting this place and my tummy is always happy. I love love love the spicy chicken special!
google avatar

Trang T.

Yelp
Very polite people and served delicious food! The Thai dumplings were fried in a light, airy batter. The chicken pad thai was saucy and really good! Would definitely return for more.
google avatar

Misty C.

Yelp
I ordered No. 5 Hai Yet fried chicken with sticky rice to go. The portion of the rice is actually pretty reasonable. I got this impression it would be a small portion with the pictures on here. However, the to go bowl they use is actually a big one- so I'm happy with the portion they served! The taste of the chicken is extremely good, it reminds me of authentic dishes I have tried in Singapore. I'm looking forward to try other dishes on their menu and hopefully will come back to update to five stars after I try their drink!
google avatar

Psith L.

Yelp
Amazing food and friendly service. Best Calamari I have had. Everything I have tried so far has been very good.
google avatar

Randy L.

Yelp
New Thai place across the street from Ninkasi's beer garden. Thai noodles, rolls, soups fried chicken and more. Very friendly owner. We ordered to go and ate across the street in the beer garden, nice!
google avatar

Rena L.

Yelp
Kai is legit. I've tried several Thai places ranging from just alright to grosse. Now I can only speak on what I ordered which was the pad kee mow but it was so good. Spice level right. Not all saucy and overpowering. Just right. I'm sure their other food is delicious too! Will be going back to this spot!
google avatar

Morgan V.

Yelp
This food truck just opened across from Ninkasi Brewery on Van Buren. My husband and I were waiting for another restaurant to open down the street and were tempted by the offerings. We are so glad we decided to eat here. Great food, great service, great prices and you can take your food across the street to the brewery to eat it with some great beverages.
google avatar

Kim T.

Yelp
The food here leaves a lot to be desired. I only tried 2 of their dishes (tonkatsu curry and chicken satay) and neither of them convinced me to try anything else from here. The food truck prides itself in offering fusion Asian food and the menu seems to be true to that promise. You can get anything from Thai to Japanese and Korean inspired dishes. The tonkatsu was juicy but the breading was a bit greasy and not crunchy in a good way. The chicken satay lacked seasoning and was a bit on the dry side. Service was quick and friendly. I think this place has a lot of potential given it's location and type of cuisine, but I think they need to up the seasoning in their dishes.
google avatar

Robyn H.

Yelp
I ordered Pad thai tonight for dinner. I felt like I was eating pure sugar. There a soupy sauce that looked like tomato soup. No green onions or chive. The only vegies were shredded carrots. No thank you with a heavily sweetened red sauce. This was the worst Pad Thai I have ever had. Pad Thai should never be red!!! I could barely eat my dinner but was starving after not eating all day. Boo hoo for your Pad Thai!
google avatar

Anton R.

Yelp
Great Thai & Asian fusion food from a food cart. I love the pork tonkatsu and all their chicken dishes! Really great flavors. I think their dishes would benefit though from more veggies, but also from more vegetarian options in general. I believe you can request for tofu instead for most of the meat dishes, but the menu doesn't really make that clear. In general I love their food and really enjoy all the Thai folk working there. Very sweet and friendly people. Check them out!
