Right on the Maybachufer in Berlin’s trendy Reuterkiez, Kai Maison blends into the lively Neukölln dining scene with its bold concept of Asian-French-Japanese fusion.
We visited on a bustling Friday night and were glad we’d reserved a table. The interior stands out with a creative mix of rustic modernity and vintage-chic, paired with bold neo-design touches. Be prepared for a lively soundscape when the place fills up.
We ordered a colorful selection of aperitifs and tacos, with the Sake no Tataki clearly being the highlight – fresh, balanced, and full of umami. While the other dishes were well-prepared, they didn’t fully deliver on the menu’s promise of bold flavor fusion. We had hoped for more adventurous combinations, especially given the vast potential of Japanese cuisine as a fusion base.
The service was friendly and fast, and impressively, our food arrived in under 10 minutes. Portion sizes were decent, though prices are definitely on the higher side – fitting for a scene restaurant in Berlin.
This restaurant is great for date nights, small groups, or anyone looking for a stylish night out in Neukölln with a modern culinary twist.
