La Maison Review - Kreuzberg - Berlin - The Infatuation

"Although it’s technically a café and boulangerie, this canalside daytime spot is one of our favorite places to drink in the area. Come on a Sunday in spring after ambling down Nowkölln flea market to share a bottle of Riesling or hover around the orange wine tap. The outdoor patio bar churns out trays of Aperol and Campari spritzes until the early evening when everyone disperses to nearby restaurants or onto another bar. Once the weather warms up, Berlin locals and in-the-know tourists swarm this Paul-Lincke-Ufer suntrap, so finding an available bistro chair is almost as painstaking as a rent-controlled apartment. La Maison also serves great coffee and the flakiest pastries in the city, which explains the perennially long queue for the patisserie hatch." - Olivia Ladanyi

I was looking for the perfect spot for a dinner with my friend on the day she arrived, and that's when we ended up at Kai Maison. We were so happy to discover this gem! The interior is cozy yet modern, creating a warm and welcoming ambiance. The food? Absolutely delicious—beyond words! And a big shoutout to Jimmy and Ly—true professionals. Not sure what to order? Don't worry! Jimmy's recommendations are spot on and you'll never go wrong! Highly recommend this place!

The food was incredible. The Japanese / French fusion is an amazing idea that translated so well across each dish. The only feedback is that they brought out all of the dishes out at once. I wish they would have brought out the dishes in segments. It was too overwhelming to eat everything at once and some of the hot dishes were cold by the time we got to them.

Right on the Maybachufer in Berlin’s trendy Reuterkiez, Kai Maison blends into the lively Neukölln dining scene with its bold concept of Asian-French-Japanese fusion. We visited on a bustling Friday night and were glad we’d reserved a table. The interior stands out with a creative mix of rustic modernity and vintage-chic, paired with bold neo-design touches. Be prepared for a lively soundscape when the place fills up. We ordered a colorful selection of aperitifs and tacos, with the Sake no Tataki clearly being the highlight – fresh, balanced, and full of umami. While the other dishes were well-prepared, they didn’t fully deliver on the menu’s promise of bold flavor fusion. We had hoped for more adventurous combinations, especially given the vast potential of Japanese cuisine as a fusion base. The service was friendly and fast, and impressively, our food arrived in under 10 minutes. Portion sizes were decent, though prices are definitely on the higher side – fitting for a scene restaurant in Berlin. This restaurant is great for date nights, small groups, or anyone looking for a stylish night out in Neukölln with a modern culinary twist.

Wonderful dinning in nice and convenient location with cool interior. Friendly staff. 100% suitable for youngers. Dishes were over my expectations. Fresh and nicely made. All sauces were impressively delicious. Tacos were so special. Sure to be back on next trip to Berlin.
