A compact, independently owned Richmond shop with generous portions and creative bowls like the KO ramen, plus skewers and small plates. Recent diners praise value and variety; it’s a fun, low-key alternative to the headline-grabbers.

I waited 3 year's to try this place and i was not disappointed. I was welcomed and seated right away and taken care of. Very small and peaceful restaurant. The staff was interactive and very informative. Can't wait to come back. Ramen was loaded with so many creative things lamb, curry, deep fried eggs. Appetizers pork belly and dumplings both were delicious. Saki was pretty good not even a Saki person and i was surprised.

Google
One of my very favorite Ramen spots. Not only is the Ramen varied and inventive, but they also offer some other side dishes that you don’t see everywhere else. I particularly like the Japanese pumpkin tempura. They also have a variety of fairly priced sake’s.

Google
Really really cute ramen place with SUCH TENDER AND MOIST AND DELICIOUS KARAGE. Truly best karage and so much flavor in the karage and sauce! The only thing I wish was that there would be more veggies in the ramen. The service was great and friendly and fast! Highly recommend!! The price was so reasonable too for such big portions!

Google
One of my best friends gave it a 3.5/5. I loved the spicy miso with pork belly. The edamame was also tasty and well cooked. Easy ordering and service. Small setting with great options.

Google
Look. It's great ramen. But it's fancy. You want good, classic, tonkatsu ramen? Go somewhere else. This place has unusual, good but spicy flavor combos, and they put fried chicken on top. Most options are spicy, and I (a spice weakling) had a runny nose two bites in. The ramen egg was panko-coated, not marinated (this was indicated on the menu and yet I was still disappointed). Small, clean, unfussy interior. Also serves apps, sake, curry, but you're here for the ramen. Take friends here if you want to seem cool, but this isn't my favorite ramen joint in the city.

Google
An adorably cozy spot with phenomenal ramen. Such a hidden gem. The miso tofu was truly such a delicacy, a really simple yet well done brother and delectable toppings. The soft tofu was mindblowing. Highly recommend and would come again

Google
i genuinely never leave bad reviews but this was the worst dining experience i’ve ever had. i will say i’ve heard from many friends that they love this place, but i did not have a positive experience :( we got there and had to wait around 30 mins (totally reasonable). the worse part was they we were seated (and had already decided on what to order) but it took the waitress another ~15 mins to take our order and then another ~10 mins to bring water. we then waited another 30 mins for the food to come. every other table was already eating (even multiple that arrived / were seated after us). when i said something to the waitress, she tried to explain it by saying that our slips got lost but never updated us or checked in. the food then came and the skewers on the ramen were cold. they had not reheated them! as many good reviews as this place has, i can never come back and cannot recommend it at all. i totally understand the waitress was slammed with a full restaurant and lots of doordash, but the service was pretty unacceptable

Google
I love this spot. They have such a creative interpretation of traditional Ramen that truly lends it self to a modern palate. They also completely step out of the box in such amazing ways. They have fun but always delicious options to customize your order with things like- Panko egg! Don’t skip on their appetizers… so good, each and every one. I love their Ramen. Spicy miso is my go to but I’ve had all of them and one can’t go wrong.

Yelp
Recently revisited. Absolutely loved their chicken skewers. So good! I can probably eat a few orders of this by myself. We also liked the spicy ramen. Small neighborhood izakaya, but packs a delicious punch. Service was efficient and nice. Located on Geary and Beaumont Ave.

Yelp
A couple of long-ago Kaiju reviews from people I follow on yelp mentioned things that I thought might be true, but they did little to change my feelings about the place. With its great big, almost overwhelming menu, the intimate space it occupies, the fun decor (it is neither Christmas nor Madi Gras, but decorations from both - and more - adorn the walls), the absence of "mandate fees", the existence of a daily happy hour, prices that I thought reasonable, and nobody putting a Square kiosk in my face when it was time to pay I really enjoyed my time here. So, paraphrasing, here's what was said in those earlier reviews: * Egg noodles are used, not traditional ramen noodles (2 stars, from 2014) - I'm no noodle connoisseur but did find the noodles in my KO Tonkatsu Ramen somewhat less less flavorful than most ramen noodles I've sampled. You can upgrade (for a fee) to Udon or Soba noodles. * "College Ramen" (4 stars, for 2016) which was meant to indicate ramen that includes whatever you can think of to add to the equation. As an example, my son's Spicy Miso Ramen was topped with tortilla chips, adding to the already quite salty offering. Neither of these observations really impacted my overall enjoyment of Kaiju. My bowlful was enjoyable as was the entire experience. With all of the things going for Kaiju, including their having stood the test of time, I'm pretty certain that you too can find several things here to like.

Yelp
Came here for belated Valentine's Day date night and we haven't been here since they reopened so we were pretty excited for our meal! We were able to walk in and get a table luckily because it is small and does get busy pretty quickly! We got the following: * Katsu Curry Ramen - Medium garlic spicy. Crispy fried panko pork cutlet, curry stew of potatoes, carrots, garlic spicy tonkotsu broth, soft egg and scallion. $18 * Ikayaki - Grill squid with house special sauce $18. This I would not get again because I found hard pieces throughout this dish. * 2 Scallop Skewers $16 * Kaiju Kobe Ramen - Medium garlic spicy. Monster in a bowl. House favorite spicy Kobe beef ramen, onion sautéed tender Kobe, panko egg, garlic spicy soy broth, tortilla chips. $21 * Hot Bananas - Fried bananas, vanilla ice cream, whipped cream and chocolate sauce.$8 Ramen here are filling and super delicious! The hot bananas was a nice finishing dish to our meal.

Yelp
The selection at this place is amazing. There are a few more items I'd love to try next time. We dropped by near closing time but the waitress didn't rush us at all, she was friendly and patient. The restaurant is cozy and seating could be limited when it's busier but it wasn't too bad when we went.

Yelp
Quick service and really yummy food. The place is small. There was enough street parking but we also got there around 9pm.

Yelp
I was looking to try something new around Geary heading towards 19th Ave- leaving Kaiser Hospital. This was super close and new-to me. A sliver of a spot packed when arrived. Wow the Ramen looked so good but I felt like "rice" in consideration of wearing a soft leather blazer and worried about splashes-so got the Kobe Gyudon and the calamari starter. The calamari was so good, crispy with a bit of salt and then the mustard sauce and fried Renkon ~ lotus root? It was so delicious. I could have just had that! The place was cozy and tidy. Wooden benches and chairs a little tight and stiff but fine. Everyone had their left over Ramen to go! And the portions looked big. Looks like they have 3 flavors on a sandwich board lunch special $11.50 and a side. I will def try again but I will try to decide the ramen ahead of time as it seemed like so many choices to choose from.

Yelp
3.5 STARS Date: Sunday, December 15th, 2024 Party of: 2 Meal: Lunch Delivery Time Ordered: around 2pm Time Arrived: about 50 mins later Neighborhood Delivered to: Outer Richmond Ordered via: Restaurant website thru Beyond Menu *Takoyaki ($13) *Ikayaki ($18) *2 Pork Cheek Skewers ($6) *K. O. Ramen ($19) *Spicy Miso Ramen ($16): Extra spicy please *Free edamame The hubby and I typically use Doordash for delivery, but pricing was about the same with some items priced lower and some higher on their website. Since their site gave us free edamame, we decided to go thru them. The free item was actually pretty good. Savory and garlicky. I also enjoyed the takoyaki. It was soft and chewy. The skewers were a bit salty, but fine. The spicy miso had a good amount of spice. I always need some heat to balance out the salty ramen broth. The one super disappointing thing was the ika. From the picture, it looked like it was just grilled. However it showed up drench in sauce. And that sauce was on the sweet side. Not my jam at all. Decent spot for ramen and such. I just wished the ika was better. REVIEW #3644

Yelp
Tataki Monk- nice crispy rice appetizer with egg tofu on top. The server pours soy sauce over the dish when they bring it over which makes this nice sizzling sound on the hot plate (hence the steam in the photo). Overall nice and crispy especially with that soy sauce that gives its more flavor. Fishing Chips- crispy calamari and lotus root. I do not normally like lotus roots but it paired well with the calamari and the sweet sauce on top to help cut out some of the oiliness. K.O. Ramen- a nice spin on your typical tonkatsu ramen. I really like the different cuts of the pork and even the meatball. The change in texture is what makes it good compared to your regular tonkatsu. The both is great as well. Overall a nice experience for dinner with my partner and her sister. It was later in the night so I was able to grab metered street parking for free in front of the store but I can imagine parking being harder when busier. There is a paper wait list you sign in and the place is small so wait times can be a bit longer. Would be willing to come again.

Yelp
Amazing Ramen lunch with a side special $19! Service was fast and staff were super helpful in helping to describe the options and popular items and recommendations. I loved discovering this fabulous hidden gem, which is quaint, fun and clean. I found this spot largely thanks to the remarkably positive Yelp reviews!

Yelp
I've been going to this restaurant at least twice a month (sometimes twice a week, if I want to treat myself) for the past 2 years. First time I came here was as a freshman in college almost 10 years ago and the quality has remained consistently good, even through the pandemic. It is the best ramen I've ever had. Period. As a vegetarian, I get the spicy miso tofu ramen with veggie broth and it's amazing. The staff are amazing, some of the sweetest people I've met. It's a small space, and they can get busy but it's always worth the wait!

Yelp
This is the BEST ramen place EVER!!! Every time I come to San Francisco I have to go here because I haven't found better ramen anywhere else. Their appetizers are also so good and the staff is so nice! Love it here

Yelp
Cozy spot for a nice big bowl of ramen. There is a paper waitlist and we were walk-ins on a Sunday but got seated in ~5 mins. The menu has some traditional ramen options (e.g., spicy miso) as well as some interesting fusion type ramen (jaeger comes with lamb skewers, another one comes with tortilla chips on the ramen). Service was good; staff was attentive and everything was smooth.

Yelp
It's everything people say - tiny, lively and noisy but totally fun to be squeezed in like that. Intense, more non-trad ramen, delicious, hot, salty, rich and filling. All my expectations were met for my ramen craving! Satsuma sweet potato fries with curry aioli were good though a bit underwhelming in flavor and whatever their hot sake is, I enjoyed it more than others I've ever had. Smooth. We had 3 ramen bowls including the Spicy Miso, Spicy Miso Tofu and a Mothra. Whew! A lot to take in but worth the price. A satisfying experience and I look forward to another visit soon.

Yelp
Saw this place on a reel and wanted to give it a shot. Came for dinner on a weeknight and there was plenty of seating available. We ordered the Kobe rib eye skewers, the spicy miso ramen, katsu curry ramen, and of course, a couple Sapporos. The skewers were ok; meat definitely could have been softer but they were flavorful. My miso ramen was fine, but after some time, the potato sticks got very soggy. Partner really liked his katsu curry ramen though. Service was very slow, there was only one server for the entire restaurant and she was handling to go orders and phone calls. I felt bad. I feel like this place would be more worth it during happy hour.

Yelp
Came here on a weeknight and was seated immediately for 2. Small restaurant but cozy. Ordered two ramens, two yakitoris and edamame to share. The pork belly and chicken thigh yakitori were AMAZING! Soo crispy and tasted like they were from a grill. Would come back just for them. Ramen was standard and large portions. Broth was salty and oily though. Would ask them to put the meat on the side to keep it crispy. Would come again for yakitori and their dons!

Yelp
I've been coming here since probably 2017 and it remains a safe choice for me when I'm in the mood for ramen, skewers, and a quick bite. Interior is tiny! So if there's a wait, you'd probably need to wait outside. There's only one row of tables, probably about ten tables total. They don't take American Express. Skewers - the pork belly and chicken yakitori are fan favorites. Both are super juicy, flavorful, and best when hot!u Ramen - Kaiju Kobe is a big bowl full of flavor. The tortilla chips are a fun topping and the meat is more brisket-like. K.O has a really good broth; sometimes the meat is fall-off-the-bone tender, sometimes not. Would recommend happy hour for sure - and even if not, share a bowl of non-traditional ramen, a few skewers, and a glass of Sapporo :)

Yelp
Didn't love our lunch here. The broth in my karaage ramen was decidedly one note. The lamb in the curry was not as tender as my friend had hoped. However, the garlic edamame we ordered was delectable.

Yelp
A longtime friend told me about a Japanese restaurant on Geary near Mel's that he takes his mom and family for dinner. I'm not sure whether this is the same business or a replacement. Searching and driving by, I noticed the sign to this restaurant and did a Yelp search when I got home. Reading mostly positive reviews, I made a point to suggest a post Warrior game meal here on a recent Sunday night. We found street parking around the corner on Stanyan Street and walked over to find a crowd of people in front and several lines up in front of the greeting counter. My friend waited outside, pessimistic that we'd dine here. I Iooked at the sign up list and there was only 2-3 names written. Two of the people waiting at the counter were delivery guys waiting for their orders. I asked the greeter how long the wait would be and she asked me how many were in my party (2). She asked whether counter seats work and I gladly said yes. There were four or five tall chairs along the right wall before the kitchen. We took the 1st two seats and were quickly given menus, a book one and a happy hour sheet. After a quick study of the menus, we each ordered a ramen and shared two appetizers. We started with the scallop skewer (Hokkaido scallop), 2 skewers (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=0&select=iDgj00XyqqosJU0QyzT8Sg); there were two lightly charred scallops that were sweet tasting. I also ordered the sake clams ()https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=0&select=IweBiNaoa51-hUFBgWYMdg); the menu describes this as fresh Manila clams steamed with 100% sake, seaweed, and scallions. This was a generous bowl for the price as all clams were fresh except one that kept its mouth shut. I enjoyed the clams as well as most of the broth as I sipped on it, alternating tastes from my ramen broth. I chose the Kaiju Kobe ramen (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=0&select=Y3zOl7qRRkeu1Sxw19ADbw) for my main meal; described as Monster in a bowl, house favorite spicy Kobe beef ramen, onion, sauteed tender Kobe beef, panko egg, garlic spicy soy broth, tortilla chips. It is indeed a generous bowl of noodles and is likely their modern take on the popular Mexican birria hence the chips being the garnish. It was tasty and I could only finish a little more than half of it. I brought the rest home as part of a future dinner that week. My friend enjoyed the Jaeger and also finished about half too. We were given a carafe of cold water which made it convenient in keeping our glasses filled. Big thanks and props to Hannah, who served as greeter, waitress, and cashier for the front of the house (she was short a coworker). Like me, she didn't expect a crowd like this. The next morning, I was reminded of the indigenous day/Columbus day holiday which explains the crowd the night before. I will likely have one of the more traditional ramen choices next visit, unless I'm in a splurgy mood to try the Ebirah.

Yelp
Best ramen in the city. Love this place. The spicy miso ramen is my favorite but I always get it without the potato nest because it rents to get soggy.

Vignesh B.

Yelp
One of my favorite ramen places in the city! Not sure how "authentic" you would consider it (I'm a bad judge for that) but it's one of the few places that has an amazing veggie ramen. Our standard order is spicy miso tofu with spinach & mushroom, with the standard broth. They'll substitute with vegetarian broth if you want but I don't. Place is cozy. Gets a little packed during peak dinner hours on weekends. Weekday is a breeze.

Yelp
This is a compact little ramen shop I'm glad to have nearby! Multiple vegetarian ramen options, which is rare, and the servings are very generous with lots of noodles. Staff wer

Yelp
My bf and I decided to try Kaiju since we were wanting ramen for dinner and were intrigued by the menu. It's a small space inside, but we were lucky to get seated without any wait at 7:30pm on a Friday. We started with the seaweed salad and the brussels sprout skewers. Seaweed salad was standard but delicious as always, and the brussels sprouts surprised me with how good they were. They were charred nicely, giving them a good smoky flavor and the skewers came with a nice teriyaki-like sauce. This added a nice sweet and savory flavor to the brussels sprouts. I ordered the KO ramen and my bf got the spicy tofu miso. The KO ramen was huge and came with pieces of crispy pork belly, 2 pork ribs, 2 teriyaki meatballs, and an egg. This was literally enough food to last me another meal lol. I've never had ramen like this, and it was definitely a meat overload. I found the meat to all be too salty, which in combination with the salty tonkotsu style broth, kept me chugging water throughout the meal. Luckily, the waitresses were attentive and filled my glass multiple times. I was also disappointed that their egg was not a seasoned ramen egg, it was just a regular soft boiled egg. I did like the thicker noodle texture, it was cooked al dente with a good bite to them. My boyfriend's broth was a little lacking in miso flavor, but he liked the crispy potato sticks that came with the bowl. Service was good with the two waitresses and they had good music playing. I think the concept of more creative ramen bowls is cool, but the execution fell a bit flat for me. Seasonings could be worked on, some things were overly salted and other components were bland. They definitely don't skimp on their portions and the value is good, but I would try other things if I come back here, starting with getting more skewers. Ramen was a 3, but I'll round up to 4 stars for the nice service and good appetizers.

Yelp
This place is a standout if you're looking for quality ramen without the steep price tag. The cost here is way more affordable than some of the other spots around, yet the quality is right on par with places like Marafuku. The broth is rich, flavorful, and the noodles have that perfect texture. It's one of those spots that's consistently good, and you don't feel like you're overpaying for it. The appetizer menu is also a solid addition, with a good mix of shareable dishes that complement the ramen. The atmosphere is chill and laid-back, so it's a great place for a casual meal with friends or a quick solo bite. If you're craving great ramen and want something that won't break the bank, Kaiju is definitely worth checking out. It's an underrated gem that's definitely worth adding to your rotation. I like getting the K.O!

Yelp
Absolutely Delicious! A Must-Try for Ramen Lovers This place is a hidden gem! From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the cozy atmosphere and welcoming staff. I ordered the tonkotsu ramen and it was hands down one of the best I've ever had rich, flavorful broth, perfectly cooked noodles, and tender chashu pork that melts in your mouth. The menu also offers a great variety of Japanese dishes beyond ramen the gyoza and karaage were crispy and flavorful. Everything was served quickly and with a smile. Prices are very reasonable for the quality and portion sizes. If you're craving authentic Japanese comfort food, this place is a must. I'll definitely be coming back!

Yelp
Came by to Kaiju eats on a friday evening, inside was quite a small dinning area so we waited about 10 minutes for our table. The environment was lively, it's a nice place to sit, eat, and talk. We were two people, so for appetizers we ordered the pork cheek skewer as well as the ribeye skewer. And their hamachi sashimi special. The skewers were really good! Had a nice charcoal taste to it, and still really tender and flavorful from their own natural flavors. The ribeye had this honey mustard sauce on it which paired really well with it, it cut through the grease of the meat. The hamachi sashimi was amazing! Super tender and wasn't too fishy! Really enjoyed it. For the ramen we got the K.O ramen and the Kaiju Kobe Ramen The K.O was really good. The tonkotsu broth wasn't too heavy, but still full of flavor. Really enjoyed that part about it. But also it came topped with A LOT of meat, which is something we appreciated! The Kaiju Kobe ramen was pretty good. spicy beef ramen. The soup itself felt a little too oily, but still good. It was topped with a stir fry spicy beef on top. I enjoyed it while my partner thought it was okay. Overall i'd definitely come back. Service was nice, food was great, and loved the environment. Can't wait to try their other bowls of ramen next!

Yelp
Great drink options for happy hour and at a great price too! Chicken karage was very flavorful and so crispy. The ramen was so rich and the noodles were the perfect texture. Overall a great eating experience as the service was very good as well!

Yelp
They have something called Jaeger ramen which was excellent spicy !! It comes with grillen kabob stakes which were also soft and juicy. They blend with ramen too.

Yelp
Surprisingly no wait on a Wednesday night and got seated right away. The place is small but very cozy and intimate. The service was great as well! I got the KO ramen and it was the perfectly savory, not salty, and lots of meat! It had meatballs, ribs, and pork belly which I enjoyed. Overall experience was amazing! Also got the ribeye skewers with honey mustard sauce which was so good and tender, definitely recommend.

Yelp
So sad that I made my decision to have my dinner here. The girl was so nice and professional but the service EVERYTHING takes so long time. My first appetizer came out after I ordered for 1 hour. In the restaurant that was not too busy. Just too much order take out. Anyway I can believe that I spend 2 hours for just dinner at ramen place that should be quite and yummy.

Yelp
Good place for the creative ramen's. Place was tiny but can feel the authentic izakaya atmosphere. Rich broth and variety of toppings in the big bowl that makes it reasonable price for ramen. The noodle comes with perfect cook and service was great. Minus one star for appetizer, it was too salty and pricey if compared with the portions.

Yelp
We love this restaurant. A little hidden gem. We've been here 4x a week since discovery. We loved the following : Katsu curry don. (We keep the sauce separate) All their skewers Sake clam TakoYaki ikayaki Ramens (All ramens were good) Karaage {sauce on the side for us) Fresh Oysters Teriyaki tofu Shishito Peppers (Betsy Style) check the pic Service is good. Alice the owner is excellent and very accommodating. Staffs are friendly, Betsy has been our server a few times. The place is cozy and we love the ambiance. You would have to wait on parties more than 6

Yelp
Got Kobe Beef ramen. I've never had ramen with tortilla chips, onions, a panko egg before! Very cool and different. Large portion (I'd recommend splitting a bowl instead of getting two). The pork belly skewers were fantastic. Chicken Karaage and fries were just OK. We got both for table and they were covered in honey mustard. Not really that appetizing. Wish they did more with the brand! Just a single Godzilla poster and a fun menu. No merch. Very small and cramped (but you could call it cozy). Not very attentive servers. On the expensive side. Not a biggie by any stretch, but no soda, which stinks as I'm trying to cut back on alcohol. I'd go back!

Yelp
Great food! One of the first places I ate at when I moved to SF. Highly recommend for ramen lovers to try! Service is fast and staff is great, the theme of the restaurant is super cute too.

Yelp
Another great visit in the books. Haven't been here for a while since they closed for a small renovation. Fast service and great food in a small whole in the wall. :) and thank God my waitress didn't let me leave my atm card as I sure forgot to take it out of the basket... Thanks again See you guys soon

Yelp
WHEN: thursday ~ august 31, 2023 Kaiju is a little Japanese restaurant kind of far off from the busy sections of Geary and closer to USF. We came during happy hour (ends at 6pm M-F) which includes deals on drinks and food (all rolls $8, all skewers $5, etc). The prices are pretty standard for SF but because of the big portion and amount of meat they give it's a bit cheaper for the size. Portions are big for the ramen. Service was very good, restaurant is clean. What we got: 1. Triple Monster roll ($8 during HH) - FAT pieces of fish cut into 5 pieces for one roll. fish was fresh 2. Baby calamari and lamb skewer ($5 for 2 skewers each during HH) - super small, flavor was alright nothing special but tender 3. KO Ramen ($18) - tonkatsu ramen with 2 pieces of ribs, 2 pieces of pork belly, and 2 meatballs. the soup was lacking depth, i would have preferred a stronger flavor to it. portion was big and lots of delicious meat was included 4. Karaage Ramen ($16) - a spicier soup base that was better than the tonkatsu. came with plenty of chicken karaage on top! so much meat. the better of the 2 ramens we ordered

Yelp
Went in after a long day of activities around the city and I'm very lucky to have stumbled upon this place. We came in with our child sleeping, right off the bad the employee was very accommodating to us. I ordered an order of dumplings but to my surprise it came with sauces and a type of chili oil on top of it. usually I would eat it but since it was for my baby I was just gonna take it off with the napkin and the employee noticed what I was doing and she offered to make a new order without the sauces. Very kind of her to do that for us. Will be coming here because apart from great customer service their ramen was very flavorful and delicious.

Yelp
Quite small neighborhood restaurant. It was just 2 of us on a Wednesday about 6:45p, had to wait about 10 mins for a table. Love to see these small establishments busy. We both ordered ramen soups/bowls. Spicy as noted, and flavorful. Friend specifically asked and ordered vegan. It came with the eggs so had to be returned-took an extra 10-15 mins. Servers were friendly. I would say 4 stars if there was not the wrong order.

Yelp
Been meaning to go back here. Last time I was here they had the most cold crisp Sapporo on tap pitcher deal on Wednesdays. The special pork ramen is extra satisfying with the complexity of flavors from the pork being prepared various ways. The seafood ramen has all you could ask for! Crab legs and shellfish were sweet and fresh. Their sushi is delicious also. Friends ordered some yakitori appetizers as well; all smokey delicious :) I wish I could go back and share a meal here with friends again.

Yelp
They recently remodeled the place for ADA but still kept their prices the same and add a few counter seating spaces. Still find this to be a decent neighborhood ramen shop. "The $15 bowl" as my kid calls it which is the price if their basic Spicy Miso Ramen with Pork Belly. On a cold day it can still be a bit chilly in the place but order some hot tea, spicy ramen and appetizers and you will be sweating in no time. Parking is easy on Geary along with the alleys. Happy hour appetizer specials are Monday through Friday. Their Garlic Edamame are awesome and so are their "Fishing Chips"

Yelp
So yummy! The cutest little place! Amazing service! I ordered the KO and subbed pork belly for the other meats- they were so accommodating. The broth was so flavorful.

Yelp
Delicious ramen noodles with unique spins on the traditional dishes. I went with my two friends and the the portions were hearty with amazing flavor in the broth. I ordered the Kobe beef ramen which was super tender and the broth had the perfect amount of spice to it. Had to accompany it with a cold Sapporo of course! Great small little restaurant with a nice vibe.

Yelp
Visited at the request of my son who is a massive Kaiju fan. Interior was small but seated a good amount considering. Food was good and derive was quick! They had buy one get one hot sake, a plus for mom. The dumplings and yakitori were good. The garlic edamame was maybe the best I've ever had! The coconut chicken ramen was just ok, not a ton of flavor. Would go back!

Yelp
Came for the ramen but one thing that surprised us were the curry fries! 10/10 recommend those!

Yelp
Very small and cozy ramen spot. We got takoyaki, Kaiju Kobe, and the Spicy Miso. The takoyaki was crispy on the outside and hot in the inside. The Kaiju Kobe was huge and full of beef. The broth was very hearty, much like beef stew. The spicy miso wasn't too strong of a miso flavor, but the texture from the fried potato complimented well!

Yelp
TL;DNR: service was good and relatively quick, the food was delicious and plentiful, the inside is pretty small and cozy. I knocked a star off because I didn't see a charge for hot tea on the menu, but I was charged $1.50 for it and the tip % is based on the total bill (+taxes) and not the subtotal. Ambience: The restaurant is small and cozy with about 10 or so-ish tables seating 2 or 4 all lined up on the left side when you enter. Since this is the layout, the ambient noise levels are fairly average to low, depending on the patrons. I came in during lunch and it didn't feel suffocating or overwhelming. Service: The menus were handed out right when I sat down and there was a little holder with napkins and chopsticks. The server was attentive and I was able to order soon after I made eye contact. I knocked a star off because I didn't see a charge for hot tea on the menu, but I was charged $1.50 for it and the tip % is based on the total bill (+taxes) and not the subtotal. Food: I ordered the garlic edamame, which was pretty standard and comparable to others I've had around the city. The edamame wasn't soggy nor was it undercooked. The sauce was a little on the saltier side for my personal preference, but it wouldn't stop me from ordering again. The Ikayaki (whole squid) is huge! Oh my goodness. It's perfectly grilled and lightly crispy on the outside with a lovely chewy texture that squid provides. This sat on top of a bed of onions and sauce, served in a little cast iron pan. Super good, but I would have loved to have some sort of mayo or something on the side to maybe cut the saltiness of the sauce. Lastly, I got the Jaeger ramen and I had no idea the absolute monstronsity this bowl was going to be. I think this meal would be best if shared. When I first saw the sticker price of $20, I was shocked, but when I saw the sheer size of the bowl and the skewers, I shoved those thoughts right out of my head. The lamb was perfectly cooked with fragrances of cumin and spice, topped with curry sauce. Although the description mentioned spicy garlic tonkatsu broth, I mostly tasted the curry and not much spicy nor garlic - but that could be that I LOVE garlic and generally cook with a lot of it (so my garlic meter could be off). Seriously, though. It was completely worth it. I had enough for 2 people. The noodles were springy and a little on the thicker side. The broth was very rich and flavorful. I loved the crunchy friend potato strips. I liked the soft boiled egg, but I took the panko off because I don't like soggy panko texture. I think they could do without that extra work of breading a hard boiled egg to put in ramen for it to sog up. The menu items also look vegetarian friendly, so I'm going to have to come back with some vegetarian friends to see their verdict. All in all, I would come back here with a slew of friends to try this place. The ramen all looks interesting enough to try every one!

Yelp
It's so cute in here! Love the ambiance- it's a pretty small place, only 5 or 6 tables, but the service is great. Weren't kept waiting on a Saturday evening for a table. Also the music choices are fire :) we got the Spicy Miso and KO- the meat on both was delicious, but the real gem is the broth. Cant believe it was only $15 for a bowl. We will be back!
