"The sheer variety of tropical fruits and vegetables grown in Hawaii makes their farmers markets incredibly special. The Kailua Farmer’s market is always filled with locals buying their produce for the week, picking through mangoes, kiwis, and several varieties of banana (we’ve heard that the apple bananas and ice cream bananas are particularly great). Make sure to stop by the Nalo Farms table to pick up some “Nalo greens,” a mix of salad and microgreens that are famous in the area—then look out for them as menu items in Honolulu."

Great atmosphere with music and food. Superb location in the middle of town. Parking is free albeit mostly full. If you troll around you will find it. Lots of super local farmers and vendors. Smaller than I expected but that makes it easy to get around to everything.

Everything was amazing. I got Hurricane Kakamochi Elote corn in a cup, Li Hing Crunch popcorn, fresh squeezed Guava Pineapple juice, Keiki hand stretched noodles, and the sampler of Shrimpy Irresistible, In and Out, and Tacobella Corner egg rolls. My friends got the Kulua pork and ribeye steak dish.

Andrew’s ability to work with any type of cuisine turned us on to him when he was the Chef at Grondin in Chinatown but his absolute love is Asian cooking. It shows in what he produces at his stands in Oahu’s Farmers Markets. Complex, assertive, textured and multi layered. Like great French food but oh! the spice. But never too much!

A fabulous stop on our family vacation! We weren’t sure what to expect but several friends recommended it so we gave it a try. It was wonderfully diverse with food, drinks, and treats options. The live music was a cherry on top. Bring a blanket to sit on!

There are actually three farmers’ markets in Kailua. One trades at the parking lot of the Kailua District Park at 21 South Kainalu Drive on Thursday mornings. There’s also the independently-run Lōkahi Kailua Market at 340 Uluniu Street on Saturday mornings. But the main event takes place from 16:00 to 19:00 on Thursdays at the Kailua Town Center Parking Garage, 609 Kailua Road. With up to 30 producers, this is the place to go for seasonal fruit and vegetables, like papaya, Manoa lettuce, bittermelon, breadfruit, guava, bananas, Asian greens and much more. For delicacies with a connection to the Oahu you could pick up a ghost pepper salsa, honey harvested from local hives or traditional Hawaiian treats like kulolo or haupia. And there’s a feast of street food on offer, whether you’re hankering for poke, taro dumplings, Samoan specialties, Vietnamese bites, noodles, Hawaiian Chili, Hawaiian-style BBQ or empanadas.

Yelp
I was hoping for more fresh vegetables and local items. There was a lot of prepared foods. People looked like they were enjoying the foods they bought.

Yelp
One of the more low-key and less populated farmer's markets since it's hard to make the drive all the way to Kailua for most townies. It's much more relaxing and less chaotic compared to the Kaakako and KCC one in town. I like how convenient the farmers market is with plenty of parking in the structure and excess parking lots since it's surrounded by all the stores like Down to Earth, Whole Foods, Longs, Maui Brewing, etc. They even have live music playing as well! Some of my favorite pop ups are there like: 1) Little Sparrow specializing in German spaetzle (Recommend: Truffle Spaetzle or CBM) 2) Youpo noodles - hand pulled noodles (Recommend: Cumin Lamb) 3) Corner Rolls - delicious takes on eggrolls (Recommend: Traditional, Innout, Avocado) 4) Nalo Made Lemonade from Waimanalo Country Farms Recommend if you're in the area on Thursdays.

Yelp
Kailua District Park Behind Kailua Fire Station Thursday mornings from 9 am The horn goes off at 9 officially announcing the start to buying. About 7 vendors, so very much a neighborhood farmers market. Cheap! So grateful that Antonella started selling her Italian homemade goodies here. Antonella has the best quiche-salmon, mushroom, zucchini, beet and goat cheese. Olive bread...tomato and onion, pesto, spanakopita, apple strudel...I LOVE her food. Crave it. Always stock up...so very comforting and delicious. Other vendors are selling vegetables/ fruit: bags of eggplant for $2-3, onions $3, bananas, tropical flowers $5, home made jellies like your grandma used to make, Manoa lettuce, potatoes, sweet potatoes, celery.... The cost of food on Oahu has always been high. But this is the way to get fresh, healthy food at reasonable prices. Get there early before things sell out!

Yelp
Happiness is come across an outdoor party... Meeting Nadine C for a girls night dinner is already makes for a night to remember...happen to come across a Farmers Market puts me into a place I just didn't know what to make of it all. I loved the Sunday morning market at the Kailua Town Shopping Center only sad to be moved to another location...who knew that HFB Farmers Market had one on Thursday nights!!!! Gah! This Farmers' Market is like an outdoor party with entertainment, food, snacks and so much more going on here. I picked up some mochi from @lanikai_mochi, gazed at the process of making crepes, enjoyed some lovely entertainment and had a hard time resisting grabbing a bite at Nosh as I saw something they don't offer at any other markets. This Market is right along Long's and down to Down to Earth area, half are in the covered parking lot and half is out in the open which does make the search for parking a struggle but so well worth it. Follow @hfbfarmersmarkets for lists of others they run and this Kailua Town runs on Thursday nights from 4pm to 7pm come down and support local! Thank you!

Yelp
Loooove farmers markets!! Small but lots of stuff. Parking is kinda tight, but we were able to find one pretty quickly. Lots of different vendors and food options!! There's also live music. I wish there were some tables or seating so we can eat all the yummy food tho. Definitely recommend!!!

Yelp
Great open air farmers market that runs Thursday evenings in the Kailua town shopping center parking lot (across from Ulta/down to earth). You will see a couple of local produce booths here but not as many as you'd normally see at a weekend farmers market. Instead, this evening market is largely food based, with most booths serving plate lunches, desserts, and drinks. It's best to get there early because some vendors will close early if they sell out! Some of our favorite vendors include Honolulu Burger company, Pig and lady (Vietnamese), Olays Thai food, Pacifikool (ginger drinks) and Lanikai mochi! Most plate lunches here range from $10-20. There isn't really any designated seating area at this market, so you will see many patrons bring their own lawn chairs and set them up around the live music tent. Dogs are also welcome! Overall, a great way to support local and to get outside on a Thursday evening if you're in the area.

Yelp
Good For a nice variety of foods - a mixture of farm fresh fruits and vegetables -and prepared food at tents with that are similar to food truck fare. Among the large fruits, we usually get a large pineapple for $6 and some other island specialties. Plan to stand in the food line ques to place your orders and then wait while your choices are prepared. Some stalls may run out of food before the last buzzer sounds to end the market -so choose to stand in your favorite food lines first. On various Thursday nights we tried and liked the foods at the Mediterranean stall with gyros etc., the mushroom stall with deep fried mushrooms and veggies, the bbq and pig stalls, the hand pulled noodles, and the stall with stir fried spaetzles (CBM is not spicy). Lots of locals and tourists attend. Dogs and small children attend, but it is very noisy and crowded, so dogs cower and kids get fussy standing in crowded lines after a while, in our experience. Pet owners and parents will probably object to that observation, but just wanted yelpers to be aware, and maybe plan to complete the rounds quickly. Music is provided -a guitar player sings old favorites in a small side space. You can hardly hear the music unless you bring chairs or blankets and sit directly on front of the speakers. You can picnic on your purchases there on the tarmac. Parking is available in the garage where the market is held and in an outside lot.

Yelp
The absolute best!! So many vendors and so many yummy things to eat. Loved the rainbow sandwich from the Healing Kitchen. You can get a mini bagel flight at Tali's! There's so many produce stalls and also a dim sum stall! I wish I could eat breakfast here every day!

Yelp
The Kailua farmers market is one of my favorite markets in the world. There's always a variety of local artisans and amazing food available.
google avatar

Mark S.

Yelp
When I think of farmers' markets I think of fresh produce. Only two stalls were produce and probably not from local farms. It was disappointing that it was mostly food booths. I was on the search for the rare Blue Java Bananas. Sadly not enough produce variety. Won't be going to a this "farmers market" ever again.

Yelp
Family friendly atmosphere on Thusday nights. Plenty of parking around the lot as the parking structure at Whole Foods will be taken for this event. (and some of the outside lot on the outside). As you walk around, feel safe as everything is taped off and entertainment is available for you and the kids. I believe we had a live singer the time we were there but didn't really pay attention as we ate inside the parking garage. It's not as big as KCC but a lot of people are here from there like Pig and the Lady, Guava Smoked (more on this later), Honolulu Burger Co., and plenty more. Even lots of vendors and most of them sells those over-sized papayas (Sorry not Guava as it said on the pic) and Avocados. Seating is a bit limited and that was may be my main gripe here. I have no problem eating sandwiches or burgers sitting on the sidewalk but soup noodles can be a little difficult if you're not eating at a table. Luckily we grabbed one just past Guava smoked BBQ. BTW, I had ordered a pork bowl and a chicken bowl from Guava Smoked and while they were trying to cook one of bowls, the other sat there getting cold. It was longer than 10 minutes and as a person that does BBQ and have served people in the restaurant biz, this was not okay in my book. I would've just reserved something fresh for the customer, definitely can't recommend the kids working at that booth unfortunately. And signage for the businesses are pretty limited, so you really do need to walk up to each vendor to figure out who they are. Definitely great to check it out once, but a little over crowded for a re-visit.

Yelp
It's more of a food festival than a Farmers' market. It seems the the majority of the stands there were mostly vendors with a handful of actual stands selling produce. I didn't mind, I got a big lemonade from Waimanalo farms-but sadly they ran out of the strawberry puree. The pao de queijo from Nosh was great. But again, less of a farmers' market and more of a weekly food festival.

Yelp
Just about a perfect thing to do in Kailua on a Thursday afternoon/evening! Bring your visitors for a myriad of dining options and vendors while listening to some free Kanikapila! Hawaiian Jam session music. Wether you bring a blanket and picnic on asphalt or take it home, everyone can select their favorite grindz!

Yelp
This place was great, tons of food varieties, live music and various vendors. Very kid friendly.

Yelp
We loved this! We ate a lot and bought a lot of things to take home! it is very well done. We did have trouble finding garbage cans and a table where we could eat but besides that we loved it!

Yelp
This is a good place for dining out with the family and friends and grabbing some local produce. Check out Gava Farms' table! Their beautiful produce is actually local...from Waimanalo...just on the other side of the hill!

Yelp
Went there late on Sunday as I just happened to be in the area. Nice to see a lot of people there to support the vendors. I get that covid foosis getting expensive but $19 for the mini char siu bau and mini pork hash?

Yelp
Great little market. Came here for fried mochi, ginger lemonade, dragonfruit & mangosteen. Live music, lots of food vendors, fewer produce stands. Still wonderful. Will definitely be back.

Yelp
I thought this was a great farmer's market! They have a good variety of vendors, not just vegetables and fruits. But also lots of great tasting foods to purchase. I had a Banh Mi sandwich from one of the vendors (can't remember which one specifically) and it was delicious! The dipping sauce they supply you with makes the sandwich taste bomb! There was a waiting line for this one, but definitely worth the wait. I also tried Brazilian cheese bread, this was amazing. They call it pao de queijo. It's basically a bread roll stuffed with cheese inside. The bread roll is made from cassava root. This was purchased from a vendor by the name of Nosh. Very delicious snack! Had a green juice from one of the vendors there, freshly made and it was refreshing. Tried out the famous banana ice cream, or the blue java banana. The flavor of this OMG status! Absolutely delicious. Sweet tasting, soft texture, and healthy. Also their Hawaiian papayas are my absolute favorite fruit on the whole island. I already enjoy the taste of papaya fruit, but when I sunk my teeth into this fruit, wow! Its sweeter than other papayas I've tasted. It's also softer texture. Since they are mostly organic, it's like a taste bomb goes off inside your mouth, absolutely delicious! Ok back to the main point, the farmers market, lol! Yes I definitely recommend this farmers market. Oh be sure to arrive early as parking does get crowded. Find parking across the street somewhere.

Yelp
We went to the Hawaiian style chili Co stand and got the seared ahi plate and New York steak. Our first meal in Hawaii and it was really good, worth the money! If you visit Hawaii you have to try it

Renae B.

Yelp
Excellent farmers market!! They had lots of fresh food and the atmosphere was amazing! Very friendly. Only down side, we ate dinner before going to the farmers market. Don't do that! We would have preferred to eat dinner there. Everything looked and smelled amazing! We did get to enjoy a few small samples, and everything we sampled was excellent!

Yelp
Fresh fruit bowl for $20 was really good and comes with variety of fruit, he has whatever is in season. Pig and the Lady French dip which is always tasty, got banana bread a place that was ok, it was kinda dry, and some doggie treats which my fur babies loved. Over all I'll definitely be back

Yelp
I grew up going to this farmer's market. I used to go there when the best stand there was the fried green tomatoes and the salsa from the salsa man! Now there's all types of fancy stuff. There are a lot of vendors here that are also at the KCC farmers market. One thing that I tried at KCC that I would recommend trying here is definitely the cheesy bread. The plain cheesy bread is delicious as is. There is also the dessert stand that sells coconut ube and papaya frozen yogurt. Head there if you're looking for a cool, creamy, and sweet treat. The pig & the lady is always a great option -- they will never disappoint. This past visit, I tried the Istanbul food stand... smartest choice of my life. It was one of the best plate lunches I've ever had. The meat (lamb I think it was?) was so soft and juicy; it melts in your mouth. It is on a bed of naan-like bread along with a sauce. There is also some delicious rice (not just plain old white or brown rice -- some other type) and a simple but refreshing salad. The Kailua farmers market has live entertainment and is very family-oriented. It can get crowded at peak hours (I'd say around 6:30), but the numbers eventually trickle down. It is nowhere nearly as packed as the KCC farmers market. Whenever I'm back home from college, I will without a doubt be here waiting in the long line at the Istanbul food stand.

Yelp
This is a nice place to go after work if you live in the windward side and dont feel like cooking in Thursdays. The amount of booths is 'lagom as they say in Swedish, just right, to create atmosphere but not too much so you can't make any choices and end up walking around starving. It's not as good for shopping as Windward Mall Kane'ohe but the amusement factor is higher than Kaneohe's services. The aromas draw people in to inspect the particular food #dawnyoshimurastudio

Yelp
This is a weekly market that takes place every Thursday evening (5-7:30) in the parking lot by Whole Foods and Longs Drug store. It is a good place to pick up farm produce, bakery items, and prepare food items. Like all markets, they have plenty of free samples to taste. Parking is a challenge if you are driving in. It is also extremely crowed. If you buy a meal to eat, there is not much of a area to eat it. They also have music and it's a festive atmosphere.
google avatar

Amanda M.

Yelp
We were super lucky to stumble upon this market. We couldn't find a reservation to have dinner anywhere and had one of the best burgers ever at this market! Highly recommend. The pão de queijo from Brazilian spot also delish!!

Yelp
Looking for something to do on a Thursday evening after work? Head on over to the Kailua Farmers' Market! From 5-7:30 pm, shop for produce and packaged goods made in Hawaii, enjoy a hot meal from one of the market's many food vendors, or just unroll your beach mat and enjoy the family-friendly atmosphere in Kailua town. I love this particular Farmers' Market for the following reasons: 1) plenty of parking in neighboring lots (Wholefoods, Longs, Foodland, etc.). 2) nice balance of produce, food, and craft vendors 3) part of the market is in the parking structure, so there is plenty of shade or protection when it rains. 4) My favorite food vendors are here: Pig and the Lady, No Ka Oi Cookie, and La Tour Bakery 5) Windward side rocks!! Even if you live/work in town, you should take a drive over the koolaus and check this market out. You're guaranteed to leave with a happy tummy. :)

Yelp
Still love coming here for my Soul Food, $1 herbs, Baile Bread, but I know have found 2 new loves.. The Jam booth who has an incredible Meyer's Lemon Butter ,Key Liime Ginger Jam, and Pineapple Habanero Jam for crackers, I am in heaven! Now to top it off, the Butter lady has a Coconut Butter to spread over English muffins in the morning. is delish! The only thing I would complain about, is why do we all have to wait for a frigging whistle to blow at exactly 5pm to pick-up our food and produce??? Other FMs don't do this ridiculous ritual! Oh well, it's still worth the wait :)

Yelp
A fun experience nestled within the heart of Kailua! Easy parking located in the large garage! This market is conveniently adjacent to a number of Kailua's most popular eateries and Happy Hours, so there's no excuse to skip it. Filled with the area's most committed artists, chef's, and entrepreneurs, your Thursday evening will be well-spent mingling with your neighbors, dogs, and enjoying the sights, smells, and sounds.

Yelp
Nothing to dislike about this market. Decent prices and great products found here. We didn't get dinner but it was nice to sr my favorite, PIG & THE LADY and PIGGY SMALLS there.

Yelp
Fun time with tons of food truck options. If you're looking for Farmers Market- fairly limited (3 booths), but if you're looking for food truck fun on a Thursday night- this is your place!

Yelp
So many treats.. we tried a little bit of Everything... we grabbed a few fruits, (pineapple and star fruit) lemonade, pineapple ginger juice , crepes, fries, purple bread, guava bread, pizza, and my favorite were these little cheesy breads from Eat PAO... there was live music, skin products, and local foods ... great place to get to sample some things and eat delicious foods :)

Yelp
This Kailua Farmers' Market is the one located in the parking structure across from Longs on Thursday evenings. They feature about 20-ish vendors with produce, honey, pa'i'ai & poi, baked goods, plans, prepared foods, live music, and the Blood Bank bus is even there. Produce first: there are several vendors, but perhaps not as many as one would expect at a farmers market. However, I found the variety of produce nice, very fresh, and quite reasonable. There are probably more prepared food booths than there are produce vendors. Ba-Le is also there with a wide selection of baked goods. The Pig & the Lady, Greens & Vines and Guava Smoked are just a few names that come to mind. There are a few stand-up tables and an open area where you can bring your chairs/blankets and sit on the concrete to enjoy your food and the live music. It would be nice to have a grassy area, or seating, but if you know the area, it's just an asphalt parking lot. I like this farmers' market because it's a quick jaunt from my office so I can make an after-work run for dinner & produce. I just wish it would open a little sooner, since I need to kill a little time if I go there straight after work. Vendors cannot sell until 5 pm, and at that time it is very crowded since people are waiting in line to buy their selections. If you're going, I'm guessing that going closer to 5:30 or 6:00 would help you to avoid the opening crowds.

Yelp
I love to walk at farmers market to find drink and food. However, the lines for coffee or any tasty food were way too long (-1). Also find a parking could be difficult (-1) during rush hours on weekend. I also saw few hotties (+1) walking around. Majority of people were very friendly and open for any discussion (+1).

Yelp
No matter what island I'm on I visit any farmers market. I'm addicted. I love the neighbor islands ones much more than the ones on Oahu but each is unique in it's own way. I go to each one for specific items. The Kailua market is located in the parking lot next to Longs Kailua. Not the greatest outdoor spot but definitely convenient. Who cares ? It's not about the location, it's about what they have to offer! I am a regular at most farmers markets because I juice and vitamix fruit and veggie concoctions daily. I also usually eat one salad or raw meal a day so I am always on the hunt for amazing produce, which are usually found at these markets. The produce is always fresher, last longer and less expensive at these markets. At the Kailua market I always get the seasonal products, my favs here are the buttery avocados, herbs, mint, Italian & Thai basil, pirie mangoes, kale, lychee, jicama & apple bananas. On the food booth side, I usually never leave without getting one item from the raw food booth, licious...my favs are the living lasagne, Kaffir miso Pad Thai, not tuna with the flax seed crisps. A must stop are the Big Wave tomato farm booth for a sack of fresh tomatoes and a slice of pesto caprese pizza!I also always get the tempura kale with freshly diced ahi & avocado and/or hamakua mushroom fries.

Yelp
We are here on vacation and have fallen in love with the town of Kailua. We were excited to visit the Thursday night Farmer's Market. There is something for everyone. The sushi sliders were a huge hit with my family. My daughter was disappointed there was only 1 poke vendor there and they didn't even have anything out to display or sample. I would like to see a few more produce vendors participating. We found 2 produce vendors and shopped with the 2nd one we found, especially since her prices were considerably less than the 1st vendor (who had the same items available). A must-try item is the lime-ade made with pure cane sugar (check out the machine that squeezes the sugar cane...it's amazing!). We will definitely come back on our next trip to Oahu!

Yelp
This is worth a stop, even if only for the delicious Youpo noodles stand. It's a really nice place to check out and I had a lot of fun. However, it can be crowded, and the better food stands tend to have long lines. Overall, I would definitely recommend as it feels like a pretty authentic and delicious place to be.

Yelp
If you are ever in the Kailua area on a Thursday night, then the Kailua Farmer's Market is the place to be! Not only do they have local restaurants and the freshest farm raised fruits and vegetables available, but they also have great live local entertainment as well. If you are from Kailua there is always someone that you know at the Farmer's Market. So much selection like Pig and Lady, Istanbul (new Mediterranean) restaurant, and basic things like bbq and even local honey. You need to go there early though or be sure to make time to find parking as they go quickly! You may even want to bike if you live nearby.
google avatar

Michael M.

Yelp
Nobody goes there anymore. It's too crowded - Yogi Berra Wife and I haven't been to the Thursday farmers market for quite some time, but we have relatives in town and have to the obligatory visit--kinda like taking people to Pearl Harbor for the umpteenth time. Crowded, smoky, noisy hipsters, noisy kids, bah humbug. And parking is a pain the 'okole. Maybe I'm just getting old and grouchy, but crouching down on the pavement with my hard to eat dinner is getting to be a draggin'. They still have nice vendors. Pig and Lady, Sushi shots, the grilled corn and lemonade guy. All hits. Just the sweaty sweltering afternoon and sticky fingers make me not so nostalgic of a state fair scenario, complete with fatty greasy food that makes you feel like bleeech. And as a Kailua resident it's a bit depressing to see that there is barely a recognizable face in the crowd. Plus I don't like the feeling of lining Alexander and Baldwin's pockets more to refuel their destructive plans for Kailua via turning it into some kind of Corepower Disneyland. Probably the best thing about the farmers market is that you can go to all other Kailua restaurants and have a reasonable shot at seating without a reservation. Try it once. That's all you need.
google avatar

Rus M.

Yelp
First time to Kailua Farmers Market with the family. There has to be at least 20 local vendors selling organic produce, meats, pastries, juices and drinks. Live music playing in the background sets the tone for the family style atmosphere. This place is definitely a stop to make when in Kailua.
google avatar

Dave L.

Yelp
Eh! It looks and smells better than it is. We had two Thai dishes, a lemonaid (cause there was a long line and we wanted to understand the fuss.) Brazilian cheese bread and an empanada. All food was mediocre. No Place to sit....well, there was but it was filled with tourist families who clearly parked for the evening. Produce was interesting and featured island uniqueness. Everything was obscenely overpriced. Its good for a snack and maybe some fruit. Go somewhere else for your main.
google avatar

Sharon K.

Yelp
I got Olay's Thai food- pad thai, the first time I was at Kailua farmers market for a good deal, I took a look around and everything was on sale, I went late during closing time. This was a good experience, I had never been here before and it was around September 2019. Everything was really nice especially the weather, :)

Yelp
Kailua is far. Kailua is far from my workplace in Downtown. Kailua is far from home in Waipahu. What possessed me to go to the Thursday farmer's market in Kailua? The Pig and the Lady's Bo Luc Lac Banh Mi. That's what. The last time they featured this heavenly sandwich was a year and a half ago. Not only did I have it the first day they featured it after the hiatus, but I followed it wherever it was served for the next two weeks. I made the drive over the H3 over to the market in the same shopping complex as Whole Foods. Plenty of parking, lots of vendors, good variety of vendors. So of course I had the banh mi and even ordered one to go. Best. Idea. Ever. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/kailua-farmers-market-kailua?select=uIQ3lvBUiR1I9FREHz8TNQ#uIQ3lvBUiR1I9FREHz8TNQ After the blissful snack before dinner, I made sure to look around the market and see what else I could find. My initial thoughts were how crowded this farmer's market is in comparison to Blaisdell, Mililani, and Ward. The only farmer's market that is as happening as this one is KCC. There are a ton of great vendors here, Soul w/ Sean Priester, Nalo Farms, Kahuku sea asparagus, Ono Pops, Grandma G's, etc. This most recent trip netted me some baby mizuna and kale. Go check it out!

Yelp
Its a tiny farmers market. But you have a variety of options to eat and plenty of parking available. I highly recommend guava smoked and pig & the lady

Yelp
I've been desperately seeking Farmers Markets and we finally made it to the one in Kailua today. Because most of the neighborhood farmers markets only do business for one hour -- YES, ONE HOUR -- it has been hard for us to make it to any one in particular. Today, I made it a point to get ready to go. The Kailua one is very small, only with about 10 vendors selling fruit, veggies, flowers and seafood (fish and crab mainly). This one runs from 9am to 10am and when we got there around 9.30am, one vendor was already packing up to leave. These vendors sell either from the back of their van/truck or from a small table they've set up alongside their vehicle. Parking sucks as you either park along the side of the road or along other people's sidewalk. The parking lot area only accomodates around 8-10 cars at best. I managed to get some nice Chinese veggies, some fruit and also lettuce and tomatoes. Better than nothing right? Will definitely check out the fish also next time. Once I've scoured other farmers markets on the island I shall report back on my findings. UPDATE: OKAY I just found out that there are no laws in Hawaii requiring farmers selling at Farmers Markets that their produce be organic! Oh gross!!! No wonder the lettuce I bought tasted really chemically. Took a star off! I'm guessing that apart from the stuff being super fresh, I can't count on it being pesticide free.

Yelp
Housed between Kalanianaole Highway & Kailua Bay.. this charming little farmers' market immediately caught our attention prior to our beach escapades and had us stoppin' by and checking in. Relatively small, Kailua Farmers' market included activities for the kids, arts / crafts, live music, plenty of food as well as handcrafted jewelry & home-goods all made by locals and available to the public! I enjoyed how raw this place was; from communal tables placed for eating and craft-making, to the coconut stand where they'll carve that coconut down and puncture it for your sippin' pleasure, vibrant (fresh)veggies, to live Island Hawaiian / Reggae tunes to jam and relax while people watching.. they managed to pack quite a bit within the small confines of this middle school parking lot. Papi's Empenada's caught my attention and had my business within minutes. Not only did it remind me of home, but the Empenada filling variations made these treats worthwhile! The breakfast Empenada was right down my alley and perfect for the morning boost. Chicarron and Kalua Pork were also grabbed for a late snack. Both are packed with flavor and left us wanting more! If you need a lite bite, souvenir or a lil' "Feel Good Hospitality" before you hit the North Eastern Hawaiian Bay, Kailua Farmers' Market is worth a pit-stop!

Yelp
Good selection of produce. But also lots of prepared food and bakery goods. Not too crowded.

Yelp
Visited Oahu for a week and the only farmers market I can fit in my schedule was Kailua's I was in search for those grilled abalone. That was one of the major reasons why I really wanted to go to a farmers market and I knew KCC had them. But when I saw that Kailua had them (based on yelp pictures) I made sure I fit Kailua Farmers Market on my schedule. But when I got there I didn't see any abalone stand. And when I talked to other locals at the farmers market, they said they never saw that vendor as well!! ahhh!! disappointed. Perhaps I was 3 years too late. The pictures I saw on Yelp were 2011. *sighs* This isn't as big as KCC's farmers market but it has a good amount of vendors where you can purchase fresh produce, sweets, seafood, beverages, and other food stands. There is also a musician who will play music during the event. I don't know if the vendors are regular or if they rotate but the time I went was good. I got to try The Pig & The Lady ( I don't need to drive to Chinatown to visit their restaurant). There I ordered a Pho French Dip: The baguette was piled with thick cut briskets, beansprouts, cilantro. it came with a side of beef pho broth and it was so fragrant! The sandwich was good on it's own already but when you dip it in the pho broth it enhances the flavor and softening the baguette - every bite you take you get that dripping of broth running down your chin.. mmm so good! I can just taste and smell the spices as i'm typing up this review. The brisket was cooked really well too, it was soft and full of flavor. I wonder if you can ask for basil and chili pepper in your sandwich, I think that will give it the whole pho in a sandwich experience (minus the rice noodles). I'm glad I got to try The Pig and The Lady -- it was good but I found the pricing to be a little steep ($10+ for my Pho French Dip). I would like to visit their restaurant now and try other items. Maybe the price is more reasonable at the restaurant? There was also a lemonade stand which was quite popular: I got to try their pineapple lemonade - it was very refreshing. They could have added more pineapple flavor though. Overall I enjoyed this farmers market they have plenty of options of food for you to try and fruits for you to buy! But the next time I visit Oahu, i'm gonna make sure I stay on the island over the weekend so that I can check out KCC
