Kaiseki Saryo Hachi

High quality Kaiseki experience in the bay area. I tried Time Machine sake which is quite different from the previous ones I have tried. I really enjoyed the Owan dish. Other dishes are in the expectations but not quite amazing comparing to the price. I may plan to go there in the summer to expect another menu.

I come here for the ramen and warm service. The owner is very charismatic about her food/ business and customers. We were standing outside 12 minutes before they open and she kindly let us in and started up the kitchen immediately so we didn't have to wait. Great place for friends and family eats!

A small but good store that is full of story. The owner really cares about the customer and wants to provide a great experience, in terms of food and service, for the customers. The broth starts out very light to the tongue, but as you eat more, the more flavorful the soup gets, as the truffle goes into the soupbase. Worth a visit for folks wanting to try a different ramen experience.

Quaint little spot for ramen at Burlingame Plaza. We got there right when they opened at 5:30 but it filled up quickly. The service seemed a little stilted, but was cordial and competent. We ordered the spicy tori Paitan ramen medium. The portion size was decent, but I wished they’d included more broth. The rich, creamy broth was savory and delicious with the right amount of spice. They use chicken as a base for the broth so it’s a little lighter than the pork-based broths. The noodles were different than most I’ve had but not in a bad way. They were whiter and had a little more bite to them. I was pleased with the meal and would absolutely go back if in the area again!

Beautiful dishes that have a story to tell with Michelin star-level execution. Each bite has so much flavor it layers without conflict. The sake menu is also simple and down to the point. It was a kaiseki course that made the pandemic more like a fleeting nightmare.

Delicious full course kaiseki dinner, with each course better than the last. Highlights include the maitake mushroom tempura, kamatoro in the chirashi bowl, and a5 wagyu course. Definitely on the pricier side, but a worthwhile treat for a special occasion. Dinner was served over 3 hours.

The soup here is brilliant. Mix the egg and truffle into the chicken shoyu broth and you get fragrant chicken goodness 👌 ✨ The tori paitan broth was creamy with a smoky fragrance. The eggs are super tasty. The noodles have bite. but the chashu is nothing to write home about, especially the pork one, which is thin and they only give two. So it's a bit pricey for the amount of ingredients, but then again you can't find this soup anywhere near here.
