All of the nurses and doctors were amazing. They made me feel very comfortable during my admission. They explained things very thoroughly and listened to me when I had concerns. Everyone I came in contact with went above and beyond.

I am very disappointed with my experience at Kaiser Irvine Labor & Delivery. After giving birth, I had to wait 12 hours to start treatment and 9 hours for a room. At 5:00 AM, I was told there was no food because it was the weekend. How is it possible that a new mother isn’t provided food after delivery? I had decided to take my placenta home, but the nurse kept telling me I had “2 hours to get it out,” creating anxiety when visitors weren’t even allowed until 11:00 AM. Thankfully, my doula helped me. I was also given medication to stop bleeding but was never told about side effects. After taking it, I started shaking uncontrollably, felt extremely cold, and thought I was in shock. I begged for blankets multiple times but was ignored, even rushed to walk to a new room while shaking but I said I cannot walk, therefore they brought a bed to transfer me while shaking, they did not let me stay and wait until the side effects stop. When I asked again for a blanket in postpartum, the nurse still ignored me until I said I would report it. Throughout my stay, I was hungry, cold, and repeatedly dismissed. My husband was told there was no coffee and that pillows were “limited.” One nurse even refused to help me get to the bathroom, saying she “didn’t want to hurt herself,” when all I needed was a hand to hold. During delivery, another nurse intimidated my doula by snapping “what” at her. While a few nurses were amazing, others made me feel invisible and uncared for. Kaiser requires full payment before discharge, yet cannot provide basic things like food, blankets, or respectful care. This experience caused me unnecessary stress and anxiety. I strongly believe my husband and I deserve compensation for what we went through.

I’ve had the best support from Kaiser Irvine 🥰 I can’t thank all the nurses and doctors enough for helping me with my delivery on 04/10/25. They were so kind, professional, and caring. I felt warm and safe throughout the whole experience. This was our first baby, and my husband and I were both amazed by how wonderfully the nurses treated us. The room was super clean, and the food was amazing. I highly recommend this location to any Kaiser member—it’s truly the best one I’ve ever been to! ♥️♥️

I’ve delivered here three times now and the staff never disappoints with their kindness, care, knowledge, and present-ness. There is literally no negative thing to say in regards to any of the care that we received from our nurses and providers. Thank you to all the nurses, doctors, and midwives who made this such a positive and wonderful experience with my most recent birth 7-15-25. Already can’t wait to be back for my fourth!

The entire staff at this hospital is to be highly commended! For all of the medical professionals to all of the support staff (including the custodial staff) I say “Thank You!”. You all made my unfortunate visit there as comfortable as possible and even fun at times with your great personalities! I can’t end this without a special thank you to Dr. Nakano. If it wasn’t for your talent and expertise, I wouldn’t have been able to state my previous comments. Much Love!

Very great experience with my surgery. From the beginning prior to my surgery to the end upon my discharge. Doctors and nurses, all very kind and respectful. I felt safe and comfortable. The room was quiet, peaceful and clean.

Google
My care after leg surgery was excellent. The nursing staff were responsive to my needs and made a traumatic experience much better than it could have been. The Ortho PA's were very professional, answering all my questions and always upbeat. The nursing aides were conscientious and caring. I highly recommend this hospital.

Google
Excellent care, all the staff especially the nurses take great care of the patient. My nurse told me each thing that was happening or going to happen. The doctors each came in and introduced and explained their part of the surgery. Great care, kindness and patient were shown by every staff members.

Yelp
I have been with Kaiser since 2001. This state of the art facility covers just about anything that you will ever need to get or stay healthy. I was here this morning for an epidural, and now here this afternoon to have a scan. What's really great here is their orthopedic surgery department. In charge of knees and hips for Kaiser in Orange County is Dr. Vivek Mohan. He replaced my left hip in 2006, and both of my knees in September 2017. His bedside manner is second to none, and his reputation among patients is legendary. At Kaiser you are treated like family. I have friends and family that have been connected with a very large local hospital system, and what a disaster trying to negotiate treatment, billing, copays, etc. If we ever had nationalized healthcare, it should be run by Kaiser.

Yelp
Very solid hospital with wonderful nursing staff and very competent doctors. My Mom was in the ICU for about a week and then a regular room for another handful of days. In the ICU, especially the nurses were incredible. I could not believe how hard these wonderful people work in their 12 hour shifts. My only main complaint would be how they discharged my mom. My mom was in pretty bad shape and definitely needed to go to a skilled nursing facility to get her strength back and get her diabetes rolling since she could barely take care of herself. Instead, they just released her very quickly and all that pressure was put on us. My mom had several falls after she was discharged and was not prepared to be on her own. I don't so much blame Kaiser as I do our broken Medical system . I wish they had a better discharge program as opposed to just checking all the boxes and trying to get them out as quick as possible. On discharge day I had no less than 20 calls from different phone numbers of the hospital asking when I was going to pick up my mom. It was a bit overwhelming. 3.5 stars rounding up for all the wonderful people who dedicate their lives to taking care of people like my Mom.

Yelp
Note that when it says the lab closes at 3:00pm - it really means 2:55pm. I arrived at 2:56pm and though there was someone still in the lab - they strictly adhere to a 2:55pm deadline and I was turned away. I'm a cancer patient who gets bloodwork done weekly, if not more, so sometimes I'm in a bind.

Yelp
I want to give a big shoutout to all the amazing nurses who helped with the delivery of my son, Kayden. Every single one of you made my wife and me feel so comfortable, even during the moments when I was freaking out--this was our first child, and watching my wife go through so much was overwhelming. A special thank you to Midwife Christina Choi, who reassured me that everything was going to be okay. That meant the world to me. The entire nursing staff was nothing short of incredible. You truly took care of my wife and my son, and we are so grateful. Big kudos to: Lidia Tian Liang (for the warm welcome) Luzmarie (For bringing the fun during the Golden Hour) Cristy (who stayed the whole night) Kristi Midwife Christina Choi And to anyone else whose name I may have missed--my sincere apologies, but thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Yelp
Dr. Stets is a lazy good for nothing liar. Do not use her. Dr. Monahahan screwed my bilateral total knee replacement surgery. He never visited me to check on me. Which is very odd. I ended up with an infection which if he would have checked on me he would of caught. I've been sleeping no stop since I got home so I haven't done any physical therapy. He's so lazy he keeps telling me to see my primary care doctor. No you did the surgery you need to fix it. Only you know what you did wrong. Do not use Stets or Monahan they'll kill you.

Yelp
This is my first time with Kaiser Permanente. I had my first annual exam, and my daughter had hers as well. The staff was extremely friendly and very informative. I waited for a total of four minutes before I was called to see my primary doctor. The doctor was very knowledgeable, and very pleasant. After my primary visit, I had bloodwork. The receptionist directed me to the area where I needed to be, and it literally took five minutes to get in and out. Overall, I was very pleasantly surprised and happy with my visit. I've heard bad things about Kaiser Permanente, and honestly, this was an amazing, amazing experience. Thank you to all the friendly staff.

Yelp
I have come to this facility a few times and each time I have witnessed employees who park in the handicap parking spots. This visit as I was waiting for a handicap parking spot I witnessed a young, strong man get out of his car in scrubs. Once I was able to park I went to take pictures of his license plate and his handicap placard and he had a temporary placard that was dated 2022. UNBELIEVABLE & UNACCEPTABLE at a hospital! This should be a high priority as we are at a hospital where majority of people here are in need of this privilege. Just makes me wonder how many healthy employees do shady things like this!

Yelp
My daughter was born here at this hospital and so this place will always be special to me. Top quality care by doctors who care and keep you updated on what's going on. There's a pharmacy downstairs which is super convenient. They offer all kinds of care, I enjoy being a Kaiser member and enjoy that it's a one stop shop.

Yelp
Kaiser nurse line suggested we go to er ASAP. I went to my nearest ER and they wouldn't look at her until I kept insisting. The lady security guard at check in was smirking saying she doesn't know who the manager is and she doesn't know anything. How unprofessional is that? I had asked her who was going to be responsible if something happens to my child because she was not being seen even though kaiser nurse line said it was an emergency. This hospital is always a disappointment. I come here because it's the closest and there's always an issue. It's dirty, parking is horrible. This makes me want to stop paying for kaiser what's the point if they're going to let potentially life threatening illnesses go unchecked. I ended up speaking to a nurse who was able to help us but it was completely unnecessarily stressful.

Yelp
I recently had a c-section at the end of March with my first born. In all honesty I love being with Kaiser, every nurse in Postpartum department was so nice and very understanding and caring. I would like to give a shout out to Nurse LuLu, Nurse Sommer, Nurse Christy, and actually all the nurses, especially everyone in the OR. They took very good care of me and my newborn baby boy, they even helped out with my partner on how to take care of our child while I couldn't really do much from the experiences I had to go through. Thankful to everyone!

Yelp
Great facility with fabulous customer service. There are many people to help you. They have masks available. ADA accessible. Gift shop that has super cute items and snacks. A great cafeteria with cooks on hand for grill options. Great nurses!

Yelp
I've been at this hospital for a good part of this year and always feel like this is definitely one of the better health systems. Their care is so integrated and really there is never a hassle when needing specialized care. I needed to come in for specialist visits, testing and monitoring, and never had a hassle scheduling or anything. I delivered at this hospital and it was a good experience. The labor and delivery staff was well rehearsed and that put me at ease. I received the care I requested with regards to pain management for the baby's delivery and they followed through. The monitoring and care from labor and delivery to the postpartum unit was top notch. The nurses here are really top notch, can't say enough about them. I never lacked for anything. Even with COVID spiking again, I feel that there was good staffing. My only gripe was with their food service. The food is basically prison food, and everything I had was the worst version of whatever it was. They forgot to feed my husband once. Luckily there was decent food nearby and my husband could go in and out.

Yelp
Please keep in mind, my review was strictly on the labor and delivery department and not just the regular services. I had my baby before COVID lockdown too thank goodness !

Yelp
It was 2:00am and I suffered sudden unexplained swelling in one of my eyeballs. Freaked out I signed up for a video chat and the doctor called back (no video) and told me he didn't know what was going on because he couldn't see it. (Hello! that's why I signed up for a video chat) He told me to head to the ER. When I arrived at the ER, the check-in nurse didn't even look at my eye and sent me out to the waiting area. It was so cold in there I was literally shaking, there is no bathroom that I could see, I was freaked out that I may loose my vision and not once did anyone update me on when I might be seen by a doctor. There was one other couple there who told me they had been waiting for 4 hours. Finally 3.5 hours later I was brought back, the nurse gave me the classic eye examine (hold one hand over eye and read chart) and then sat me on a gurney where I waited another hour. I heard the nurse tell another patient they couldn't find a doctor who wanted to help her and I got up and left. Clearly our health is not a priority for them and I would've received better care if I stay home and googled it.

Yelp
Made it yesterday before they closed with 5 minutes to spare. I wish there were some big helpful signs from the parking lots to make it obvious where to go. Swab covid test and already received results back this morning - negative! Definitely I prefer the swab test to the spit. For covid testing go to building 2, to the right of the employee entrance they have staff come out to give you the self administered tests and then you turn it back in to them.

Yelp
I love this Kaiser ,employees are way more friendlier ,things go quicker ,Many options available,My ob appointments are here and they always make me feel comfortable over the Santa Ana location ,my daughter was born here and they took care of me

Yelp
Here I am with my third review of this hospital. This time, my mom was here for about four days. She arrived at the emergency room at 4 AM and was finally put in her room later that evening. She had to have emergency surgery but it was delayed due to some additional issues and they needed to do some additional testing which is appreciated, to ensure she is safe. I do think the emergency room forgot about her until I brought up one of these extra issues then all of a sudden I had five doctors at her side and one of them mentioned they didn't even know they had a patient down there awaiting surgery. The staff here on the fourth floor was amazing. There was one nurse that I didn't love but he was still pretty good. The rest of them were amazing. She had so many issues with her IV and it beeped so much that they ended up having to put it in her wrist. I noticed the original IV that was put in was bruising heavily and asked them to change it and they did and her arm had a huge bruise. She also had a bruise on the back of her arm from the blood pressure cuff. They also moved that down to her wrist as requested as having it on her upper arm stresses her out and she had really high blood pressure. All of the doctors and the surgeon and the nurses were very nice and helpful. They also had a lot of students there I'm not sure if they were volunteers but they were also very nice and helpful. On our last day there I brought some random acts of kindness bags for the nurses and they were so thankful and appreciated. They really do such a great job. My only complaint was that they had Covid patients on my mom's floor mixed in with regular patients. That was very unsettling. Obviously staff cannot tell you which rooms have Covid patients so it was just nerve-racking. There were patience walking around the floor without masks. I made sure to wear my mask when I was there and when they took my mom out of her room for surgery and to walk around she also had a mask on. Anytime I needed to go out to the nurses station they were very nice and attentive and helpful. Checking in at the hospital they do ask you some Covid screening questions and then you have to push a button to get into the area where the hospital rooms are. I had no issues getting in they were always there to let me in which is nice. I do have to say the food at the cafeteria in this hospital is not good. And that's coming from a huge fan of cafeteria and hospital food. I had a few meals there over the four days my mom was there and I did not like any of them. Bummer. Also the cafeteria is closed on the weekends for breakfast. There is a cute little gift shop that has some snacks and some nice gifts. I didn't spend too much time browsing around in there as I wanted to get back to my moms room but they had some cute items. I'm a sucker for a hospital gift shop and cafeterias usually. There is handicapped parking if you have a plaque right across from the entrance of the hospital. Otherwise parking is a little bit of a walk. My dad was parking near the emergency room as he has issues walking too far and they did let him enter that way so that seems to be an option as well. My mom was on a full liquid diet and she said what she had was pretty good which was really only ice cream and pudding and cream of wheat. She did say the cream of wheat was very watery lol I am thankful that even during Covid I was able to visit my mom and stay all day with her as last year in November when my dad was in his hospital there was no visitation. So that was really nice and she was really grateful that I was able to be there. The anesthesiologist that assisted with my mom's surgery was very nice and very thorough. They allowed me down into the pre-op area which was awesome and I was able to stay with her until they wheeled her off for her surgery. All in all this is a much more positive experience than we had when my dad was here in November and I'm thankful for that. I hope neither of my parents need to be in this hospital again anytime soon.

Yelp
This review is specific to the Labor & Delivery/Postpartum dept. My wife delivered our son here yesterday morning! We called KP L&D and told them wife is in labor. We told them which hospital. I then drove frantically to get there while my wife screamed at me for every bump or dip in the road. From the moment we parked @ 6:50 am. I asked a random passing by KP employee for a wheel chair. My wife has had contractions 5 min frequency for past 20 mins and difficult for her to walk. The employee jumped right away and grabbed a wheelchair. Immediately gave my wife words of encouragement and support. She wheeled us to the L&D dept although she was from another dept. That's dedication & true empathy! Within minutes we had a nurse begin the check in process. We were in the delivery room within another 5 mins. Wife asked for an epidural. After completing necessary blood work. The anesthesiologist gave her the the shot and was finally able to open her eyes partially relieved from the pain. The rest was magic. Our son was born before noon! The L & D doctors and nurses were top notch and we thanked them for the professionalism and bed side manner! They truly were an amazing team and made the pain of labor much more tolerable! The postpartum team were good as well. The facility overall seemed new. Immaculate cleanliness. I give a solid 5 stars and highly recommend KP - Irvine L&D team!

Yelp
If we are being technical and honest it should be zero. I've been with Kaiser for over 20 years but what I endured at this Irvine Kaiser is hard to look away from. I had a great experience loved my OB she was great but things took a turn on delivery day. They almost killed me after my emergency c section. Nurse L has the worst bedside manner and she needs to not be on the maternity ward. It's sad because a woman already goes through a lot during childbirth and for your family to hear that my survival chances are 50% are unreal. Thank God I overcame the horrors of my childbirth to be able to see my child grow is the biggest blessing.

Elizabeth A.

Yelp
They are way under staffed long Waite minimum of 3/4 hours just get some to say this is what's wrong with , they take you from the wedding area to three large then to another small wedding area and you just sit there and wait and wait

Yelp
This place is a beacon of beauty to my family. The L&D team here has delivered me 2 beautiful perfect children even despite some unforeseen obstacles. I've been with Kaiser for almost 6 years now and the joy of loving your care team is truly freeing. I used to hate the doctors and making appointments and following orders but with my pregnancies, everything has been necessary and on some days when I didn't think it was, I look back now and Thank God that I followed the direction of doctor and did what was best for my kids. This last birth experience was HUMBLING to say the least and I'll never say another negative word about a doctor in my life. Thank you Kaiser staff- specifically the Maternity Ward nurses, doctors and midwives.

James P.

Yelp
I would give a zero if I could. Kaiser is okay only if you don't have a serious illness. If you have a serious condition I would recommend changing insurance. They had my wife in the hospital for five days and couldn't figure out what was wrong with her so they discharged her. Two days later I had to take her back to emergency room and they readmitted her. They told me that they only wanted to monitor her and not to worry. Well the next day was the worst day in my life my wife passed away and the doctor's were little help.

Yelp
I went to this Kaiser hospital regarding a sickness I had at a time that was affecting me, and the doctor was almost questioning why I had come because " it wasn't that serious ". Also it seemed like everyone thst took care of me that day was new and was quite confused on how to help me out. I will add that Jed upfront was extremely helped up and had a very uplifting attitude which I appreciated greatly. Maybe it was just a busy day but I didn't have a very good experience, I felt rushed out and didn't leave with any final consensus.

Yelp
This pharmacy has the worse pharmacy techs, assistants working for them , one person particular working after midnight hours, his name is Emanuel, This rude , abrupt, unprofessional , low class Charlatan has proven to me , is , one of the worse employee l have ever witness in Kaiser , l am a patient in Kaiser and had insurance with them for 32 years, l suffer from heart failure and take 7 medications a day, for so many times they ran out of medicine, and many times their system is down, they can't fill the prescription, imagine their dependency of a computer, with no back up system ,if the computer is down, you don't get your medication and you may die waiting for it,and many times, l was sent to different locations to get my prescription, from San Marcos to Anaheim to Harbor, reason l go to this pharmacy it's open after hours to protect myself from Covid, as my doctors advice, now about this charlatan Mr. Emmanuel , he thinks all this is a joke, if you question him at all , he answers with a smirk that you can see all 32 ,an a attitude , zero concern , zero feeling about our predicament, not only to our face he does this comedy , as soon as you turn around , he goes near the other coworkers mumbles words in their ears , and both or times few, all turns around , looks at your face and starts laughing, ridiculing you , he you are , you don't have your vital heart medication, you are disappointed , upset , driven 35 minutes, he is making fun of you because you question why this is happening ,because it keeps happening and this man ridicules you front of everyone, with his stupid smirk and " I don't give a$!"T " attitude, One time, l let it go,2 nd ,politely let him know 3 rd and z4 th l let him have it . and security is called in, and then , you are always wrong they are always right , you know how it goes , and pharmacist himself apologized for him and said " Yes, l saw that ,but look at me, am l laughing?" and told me to " wait, and l waited 2.5 hours more and system never came back keep praying that my heart won't act up all night . And l couldn't sleep from the anxiety , But this man Emennuel , l am NOT going to let this one go , l am going as high up as l can to make sure this man is corrected , Sad state of Kaiser, please read the other reviews , l am going to change my plan as soon as it's up for renewal , Kaiser is full of horror facts NOT stories , they misdiagnose many illnesses as they have missed after the stress test on treadmill , 1.5 in long clog in my Vidow maker artery ,6 mo after , l suffered a major heart attack, almost killed me , but damaged my heart mussels now it's only 24% and l have not much to live and here comes Mr. Emmanuel , thinks all that's is funny Shame on him and shame on Kaiser that keeps a person such as him at that position . I am done .

Yelp
Labor and Delivery is a joke I've been having contractions for two days and every time I called they would tell me to just wait it out a few more hours or drink water. It didn't help and the contractions are still happening. I eventually was told to come in after I began vomiting, feeing nauseated and felt like I was going to pass out. I waited in the L&D lobby today for more than two hours and they let other people ahead of me. I am still in pain but decided to go home because when I asked for the ETA to be seen they told it would be a few more hours because they were super busy and didn't have any rooms available. Not to mention I'm driving all the way from LA county for nothing and still having to go home in pain and discomfort. Thanks for nothing but if something happens to me I'm taking action.

Yelp
Time to switch to a different insurance. So I tested Covid positive a couple of days ago. And basically just surviving with some Azithromycin medicine that brought by my parents. And running low and still feeling weak and symptom got worse (chest pain yesterday, tinnitus, out of breath, etc.). Went to the hospital and see whether I could get some treatment or antivirus medicine from them. I was told that I have to wait for three hours. Since I did not have breakfast and water and I do not think it is wise to stay there with my current situation. I decided to go back home and take some water/food and then came back. Got a phone call from a nurse on the way back home asking general information. Ending up with two replies: 1. Kaiser A: You will probably not get any medications for Covid because you don't meet the criteria? Q: What criteria? Kaiser A: Over 50/65 (don't remember the number) + preexisting disease. Q: Okay.....and yes I don't really meet that and so? Kaiser A: then probably don't expect you will get some medications... 2. Kaiser A: sounds like you are driving? Q: yes, I did not have food and no water and with my existing condition, I think I should go back home first to help boost my immune system. Kaiser A: You know that you are against the rules that if you leave now, your appointment might be canceled but also I will mark a note under your document saying that you leave against the rule, so you yourself will take any responsibility if there is anything happened at home. Q: You guys are doing really great! Either waiting there for three hours with no food and water with my current sick situations or if anything happens at home, you take no responsibility. Kaiser A: I am going to hang up the call. Kaiser, you guys are doing so great!!!!!!!!!!! Only consider about whether you guys are going to be in trouble or not, but not the patients real needs, and it is just that easy to do everything by rule. Wonderful job! But unfortunately, I will probably switch to another insurance company as soon as I can. And you guys keep being awesome!

Yelp
*This review is for the Labor & Delivery department When it comes to Labor & Delivery this hospital deserves high marks, 5 stars all around! I would know, I've been here twice. Medical Accolades There's a reason why they've won accolades in this category. Named one of the best hospitals in the nation for maternity care! But honestly, I didn't know about any of these awards. They didn't mean anything to me, but the way they treated me felt like world class care. Service From the time I stepped foot onto the 3rd floor and into Labor & Delivery, it was like going to a spa where you'll know you're going to get pampered. Well, pampered in the best sense, since there's nothing joyous about this process except for the end product. There was a process to getting me checked in, about 1-2 hours to check dilation and than into an actual room but every step of the way these nurses were nothing but angels. My first time here, I had 2 nurses take care of me and made me as comfortable as possible. One being an older Asian nurse that just made me feel like she could've been my mom. This second time, I only had 1 nurse but there wasn't a shortage of compassion and care. The only thing different this time around was the stupid Vid and luckily I was negative. They still make you do everything and I mean EVERYTHING with a mask on. You mom's know what I'm talking about. Anyway, the nurses also really pushed to get me my drugs faster so I wasn't in pain. For some reason the anesthesiologist was waiting on that Vid result before he came up with my drugs. Long story short, my labor was good, quick, and such a relief when the little peanut finally popped out. A+ apgar scores so an Asian baby for sure. Our first A+! After the clean up and extracurricular activities I had to do, I of course asked if there was any food I could eat since it was after 1030 and the cafeteria closes at 7pm. Luckily they had a turkey sandwich and juice on hand, yum! After making sure I was stable, they wheeled me into post-partem and we settled in there. Post-partem service from the nurses was also really good but I felt wasn't as good as our first time around. I'm thinking it's because they knew we were parents a second time and figured we knew what to do. The first go around, they came in to check on us every hour and even changed babies diaper every time! Being a new parent is scary, tiring, and stressful, so all the help we got from the nurses the first time around was extremely helpful. Any who, after getting into post-partem, I asked for more food but it was the same turkey sandwich and juice. The good thing was they also had jello which I love! Strawberry jello, I inhaled it within seconds. Food Our first experience with the food here was HORRIBLE, like borderline inedible. My after delivery meal was fish and it was bland, dry, and lacked flavor. Subsequent meals resulted in the same flavor profile. I think they put breastfed mothers on a diet so that the milk would be good for the baby. The coffee was half full, food lacked salt, and just overall terrible. I remembered a neighbor saved us by bring Del taco Thursday specials. So I complained on their questionaire and I think they actually listened. This second time the food was better in every way, not good, just better. Breakfast was actually good, can't mess that up, and lunch and dinner actually contained salt. They let me get whatever dessert I wanted so JELLO, ice cream, more jello, pudding, and cookies. I also need to mention that you have to call in 2 hours before they actually serve the meals to put in your order. So breakfast is around 9am, lunch 1pm, and dinner is 6pm. Sometimes they call you, sometimes they'll come in, and sometimes you'll have to call, its really random. So after 3 days, with an extra brat in tow, body all F'ed, I was happy to have delivered here. When it comes to medical expertise and service, it is top notch care. Also it's easy for me to say this because my insurance was good, but I would pick this hospital every time. Although, this better be the last time!

Yelp
I was puking for hours.. the doctor came in and told me to shut up because I kept trying to get the bile out. He's like you're disturbing other clients. I apologized for vomiting. They should have given me Zofran hours before. The nurse lady got mad because she stepped in my vomit on the floor. Im like fucking duhhh.. I'm vomiting on myself and the floor because you WONT TREAT me. Fucking worst hospital in the world. I told the doctor I was going to have alcohol withdrawals and he's like no you're not. I wanted to scream because I knew I would have a seizure and on the brink of death. But they didn't give a flying fuck. When you're in medicine, you CARE about your patients. Not let them struggle in pain for hours and then get mad at them for barfing on the floor. Pathetic.

Yelp
Have been a patient of Dr. Mohan at Kaiser Permanent of 405 Highway on Alton blvd over the past several years for my left knee injury and more recently for my right knee root medial meniscus tear. Dr. Mohan is extremely knowledgeable and helpful by giving sound advice that resonates with each patient. His ability to break down complex medical verbiage to more understandable points helped to me to understand the pain area and do the correct exercises to therapeutically build up the muscle before going into surgery. This greatly helped to reduce a lot of key pain points. All of the nursing staff are also good and willing to help. Keep up the excellent work!

Yelp
William Weili HSU Do, Do - is the name of the inexperienced doctor I just saw here and he was absolutely horrible. An extremely judgmental doctor and will speak to you with no regard for the pain you're in. Just another reason I'm changing my healthcare provider. Definitely DON'T RECOMMEND

Yelp
Since yelp seems to remove my reviews of this trash hospital ill post again. My mother was here cause she OD on prescription pain meds kaiser issues her. They tried to release her and make excuses as why they didnt want to keep her. All excuses and i had to threaten legal action if they release her prematurely as no one would be home to watch her. They didnt offer a rehab or anything. I am Not her caregiver and i do not take care of humans. Not my job id throw her in a home before it got to point where my life is burden by this. They are medical providers who took oath to keep patients safe and this place does opposite

Yelp
This review is for Labor and Delivery. I had one of the best hospital experiences ever. I was scheduled for a c-section for July 12th but ended going in on July 6th. From the moment I was admitted to the moment I was discharged it was an amazing experience. I was seriously considering not staying with Kaiser but after my experience in L&D I will be staying with Kaiser. Every single person that my husband and I came into contact with were super nice. I have anxiety about hospitals and needles and all the nurses and doctors in triage were so kind and gentle towards me. Once in the OR, the surgeon and all the nurses were so patient and kind to me as I had to really work to calm myself. The anesthesiologist was incredible. There was one point before the surgery that I was crying and starting to panic and when he came in, the way he spoke and the way he explained everything which was very simply, helped calm me so much. All the nurses in postpartum were amazing. The doctors were also super nice and really helped explain how my recovery would be and how to care for my baby. The lead nurse the last day I was there was seriously one of the nicest people. They helped me so much and were just so nice to my husband and I. I've seen some pretty gnarly c-section incisions so I was very nervous to see what mine would look like and literally it looked better than I could have ever imagined. It's below my bikini line. Literally nobody would ever see it. It's also very thin and small in length. The surgeon did amazing!! We also received a congratulations card that was personally signed by the surgeon and lead nurse. It was truly an amazing experience and I'm glad that it went so smoothly so that it's something that I can remember. Thank you so much to everyone at Kaiser that helped

Yelp
This Kaiser hospital and cancer unit did such an amazing job in treating my mom and her pancreatic cancer. The oncologist that we worked with was on top of things and very sympathetic to what was taking place. She was very honest and explained all of the options and of course the joy of Kaiser there's no profit motive for her. My mom had liver issues from her cancer and Kaiser ran in right away and did surgery. They really treated her with dignity and I couldn't think the more you are definitely in good care and dealing with Kaiser in Irvine

Yelp
Absolutely terrible. I am in emergency and waiting for more than 2 hours. Staff is rude as well.

Yelp
Absolute garbage of doctors, nurses, and hospital protocols. My wife caught an infection and our baby landed in ICU from their negligence while both were under care INSIDE the hospital. Went to ER a few days later after discharge and the incompetent check-in guy, seeing my baby blue and screaming from pain, tells us this is normal for a baby. The entire hospital staff we dealt with is completely incompetent and we know this because we come from a medical background. They treat patients like farm animals. All my friends and colleagues warned me to stay away from Kaiser, I should've listened.

Yelp
I have nothing but love and respect for the staff here at the Sand Canyon facility. I was admitted for a scheduled operation. I got nothing short of special attention from the nursing staff. I was treated with kindness, professionalism and respect. They were very attentive to my needs and went out of their way to make me feel right at home. I want to give special thanks to Alice, Maria in recovery and my room nurse Susan. Keep up the excellent service to your patients. Also special thanks to my surgeon Dr Mohan. I love your energy, professionalism and intelligence. Thank you for returning my quality of life again.

Yelp
As we are nearing the end of 2020, with health and wellness having been in the forefront of our lives, this is one review I couldn't hold off on writing. I can't praise the staff at this hospital enough, or the other KP locations I've gone to either as a member/patient or an overly concerned family member. Just Kaiser Permanente in general. Loving my 1 year subscription on the Calm app, KP! Quick note, I hated Kaiser as a kid for the long wait time that felt like forever. As sick kid, 15 minutes of your tummy aching can feel like eternity. But that stayed with me. So as an adult I had avoided choosing them for my health insurance with previous employers up until my company offered them as an option. But back to KP OC-Irvine hospital. I had to put my insurance to use shortly after it kicking in (blessing in disguise, sort to speak). Each and every one, took such great care of me. I was calling this place Chateau Kaiser/resort for how well I was being taken cared of; I felt so cared for. I will forever be grateful for how professional, kind and extremely attentive they were. Now fast forward to 2020. I've heard that not all insurance are so quick to have you take the Covid test. Mine was so easssy! I just got on my Kaiser app and followed instructions for the pre-screening. Boom same day, no scheduled appointment needed. I was on my way to get my drive thru, saliva test. This is what's offered for the non-symptomatic. The drive thu was managed pretty well here and currently open till 5 pm. I've heard the lines can be long; definitely recommend to time your visit well. So as long as you're a KP member, you can take a test. Whether you are an essential worker, or not. Or ended up coming across with someone who may have been exposed, or not. But that you simply want peace of mind, the process is hassle free. They tell you that the results will be available in about 5 days. I got mine in a day and a half. Yay! If you test negative you can even do another test after a week (or so) if you feel like you need to. You can continue to go get tested without worrying about your insurance holding you up from doing so. This is a wonderful option to have, especially for those who work for essential businesses and work onsite. This is comforting for me know that it'll be as easy! Also for those that are immunocompromised and are high risk, this is great. You can also opt to take it at non-Kaiser affiliated clinic that may lessen the wait time. They will cover any fee associated with taking the test. That's awesome. For the pricey cost of the insurance, if you do need to 'cash' in, they are amazing! KP OC-Irvine is a perfect example of quality care that, in this day in age, is even more priceless.

Yelp
This is the place where Dr. Stephen Andrew Poon works at, right? If so, then I would like to mention that I had an extremely terrible experience with him because he refused to agree to perform a bilateral epididymectomy on me for sterilization purposes even though I told him that a simple vasectomy wouldn't be good enough for me. I only want a bilateral epididymectomy combined with a radical scrotal vasectomy, which would mean removing the entire scrotal part of the vas deferens along with the entire scrotal vas deferens sheath and artery on both sides. He absolutely ignored my concerns even though I accurately told him that the current child support laws in the US are extremely black-and-white and impose a "strict liability" principle for men who conceive through sexual intercourse in regards to child support. He still wouldn't listen and wouldn't budge from his very obstinate and IMHO extremely unjustified position in regards to this, though. I also told him that he is very welcome to pay all of my child support for me for 18+ years in the event of any sterilization failure, but he refused to accept my offer in regards to this either, even though it's completely irrational of him because he's already willing to accept numerous other risks, such as dying in a car accident, falling off of a ladder, and choking to death on a piece of food.

Yelp
We were out in OC visiting some family and needed to rush our son to the ER. took well over three hours with them taking people out of order. We usually go to the KP in Hollywood on sunset and have never waited more than 30 minutes in the ER. Absolutely ridiculous. And the nurse that was checking people in was a piece of work. Don't bother wasting your time in their ER. you're better off driving to another one.

Yelp
Would like to acknowledge all ER and surgical staff for the treatment and care I received 9/15/22-9/17/22. Had no idea how serious my situation was, Dr. Coleman performed surgery and nursing team 4A provided round the clock care for the next couple days. Outstanding in every aspect. Even received a follow up card from the staff. I can't say enough good things about the staff there !!

Yelp
Just having moved to the area and expecting my second child, I was very very satisfied with my visits here so far. Wait times are short, staff very friendly and helpful, hospital always clean. They even have a farmer's market, how can you beat that? I will gladly keep returning here and am glad to have such a great facility close to home.

Yelp
Had to take my wife into Kaiser Hospital this morning. As we entered we were searched prior to entry. The check in receptionist was helpful and the wait was only 10 minutes. Our nurse Raffi was awesome. A great disposition, professional and positive in his mannerism. We had Dr McCormick who was attentive, professional, explained each step and what to expect. An overall excellent experience. They were great. Thank you Kaiser for being amazing

Yelp
The entry aisle was VERY narrow! I was VERY uncomfortable having to pass COVID patient while exiting after dropping off my loved one. There should be someone there to receive everyone and direct them.

Yelp
Nurses were really helpful. Had a really great experience there. Even with the COVID restrictions they were really friendly.

Yelp
For labor and deliver/ postpartum I would go somewhere there is lactation and a nursery. Go to Hoag ... lots of cross train postpartum nurses here ... would not come back ...

Yelp
I was late to an appointment 10 min because of an accident on the freeway after driving 45 min just to be seen and after calling ahead of time to alert my doctor. Yet, Doctor Katherine Jean Cotters Rude, Impatient Work ethic not only wasted my time and gas. It ruined my appreciation for kaiser services. Horrible service and rude Specialist. If you need to feel cared for as a patient, Kaiser is not the place.

Mary C.

Yelp
Absolutely horrible. Terrible doctors. No follow through. Misdiagnosed my son and my mother. I will never step foot at any Kaiser stay clear. I filed a complaint over a week ago still no reply. No one reached out.
