I stopped by while in the area for dinner last night, it was delicious as always.
The server who initially took my order came off rude at first because he was not ready to take my order despite having asked me if I was ready to order. I did not like his tone, but aside him everyone else was very polite, and attentive with excellent service. There was another younger shorter server who also took a few of my orders and would better explain the menu and actually answer my questions had better service than the first rude server.
The rude server also forgot to place the last item I ordered, it took about 20 minutes to get my two nigiri orders because he forgot to submit it and later admitted it after like 10 minutes that he had just placed it. Unfortunately the blame fell on the kitchen staff making the items for having a large order previous to mine, but the server had already said he basically forgot to submit the order when he first took it down, so I know that wasn't the kitchen staff's fault.
The kitchen staff was all excellent, I want that to be highlighted, I especially want to acknowledge the older Hispanic lady who made most of my items personally as she was who handed them to me, everything she made was quick and delicious as expected. I asked her name but I unfortunately forgot, however I mentioned it to the other female employee who ended up processing my payment, that the kitchen staff and the older Hispanic lady in specific who made my items was great upon leaving.
The female employee who processed my payment was also excellent, as she also noticed I had been waiting a while for my items, when she had asked me twice if I needed anything else and noticed I had yet to receive my nigiri order, so when she checked in with me the second time (since the rude server hadn't even checked in with me regarding my order that he had forgotten to submit nearly 20 minutes later, he didn't even ask me if I needed anything else, the rude server just basically never came back, and even scolded another male employee for something else unrelated, after that other male employee asked me if I wanted more water and refilled my cup).
After the female employee who had checked in with me the second time after I had told her I was just waiting on my order had noticed I still hadn't received my items, I had told her she could cancel the remaining items, since my food had already settled and I had already waited a like 20 minutes by that point. I told her it wasn't a problem I understood if it was very busy for the kitchen and that it was not their fault.
Despite the one rude server who forgot to submit my order and had an attitude while taking my order, I will still give this restaurant the 5 stars it deserves because the food is great, the quality of fish and portions are generous, and everyone else's service made up for that one crappy rude server.
The best part was ultimately the female employee who processed my payment, and noticed how long I had been waiting, even gave me a discount which I did not expect - to make up for the long time she noticed I had waited. I didn't want to complain but acknowledge that for the most part this place is great and service is awesome, despite the one rude employee. I will be back for the delicious food, and awesome staff for their service. Hopefully that rude server has a better attitude by then or at least isn't my server in the future, ha!
