Kajkanten Vrångö

A cosy, little hotel in Vrångö harbour. Clean, comfortable and a stunning location. The perfect place for getting away from all the hustle and bustle of daily business. I wish my stay could have been longer. I will definitely come back. All the best to the Kajkanten-Team!

Beautiful, well-maintained hotel in a great location. I did not stay here but my group did the guided Vrango hike/walk with the owner Hakan and he showed us the hotel's rooms and facilities. Great family-owned business, and Hakan knows so much about the island and archipelago. Hope to stay here some day.

Vrångö is A wonderful remote charming island with a very old seafaring history. We stayed at its heart in an equally charming boat house ‘Kajkanten’ run by Hökken Karhsohn with a big heart and a smile. The self catering boathouse is spotlessly clean with fresh towels, sheets. Hökken brought us out on a boat trip to a tiny ice age island with enormous round and flat rocks and perched high very famous 18th c lighthouse … the flora between these rocks reminded us of the ‘Burren’ in the West of Ireland.. we spotted lots of seals basking in the late summer sun and sea birds along the route. We also had a sauna run by Kajkanten a floating little boathouse equipped with everything and again spotlessly clean. We can’t recommend this little piece of quiet heaven for total relaxation.

This beautiful inn hosts 11 minimalistic, impeccably clean small villas with walk-in shower and kitchenette for enjoying the small island. Our group of 9 enjoyed an afternoon of kayaking with some double kayaks and some single passenger kayaks. The fun experience came with a safety first message for all participants. |The island is walkable and accessible by ferry. No cars except service vehicles so walk to kayaking, sailing, boating, swimming in the very chilly water, hiking, or exploring. |Very safe place to spend some time.

A perfect relaxing stay - delicious and generous breakfast basket, and a great seafood lunch next door. Feels so peaceful and tranquil yet so close to Gothenburg. Wish we could have stayed longer!

We had a great overnight stay. Very clean and nice room with sea view. We recommend to order the food via Kajkanten, since it comes from the local fish restaurant. Fantastic service and we will come back! We recommend the north walking trail if you a beautiful scenic walk!

Kajkanten’s chalets surround Vrångö’s peaceful harbour; Everything can be reached either on foot or two wheels. There are three churches on the island and from the old boat pilot lookout – a hilltop wooden cabin – you can take in far-reaching views of the Gothenburg Archipelago. boathouse apartments, picnic benches and barbecues, surrounding Vrångö’s quiet harbour. The majority of this mini resort has been made with locally sourced wood and then painted white, just like the rest of the island. The island is all about being in great outdoors and at night you retreat to the cosy harbourside self contained cabins. Håkan and Evelina were fabulous hosts and were on hand for any requests (including taking luggage to and from the ferry on a buggy) The island shop is less than a minute’s stroll away and it’s opposite a simple but outstanding seafood restaurant, Fiskeboa. Breakfast boxes are very generous and comprise bread, cheese, eggs, juice muesli and fruit. Lovely authentic island getaway from city stress.

wow what a delightful & friendly experience my friend Sue & I had kayaking with Kajkanten Vrångö, the owners are so nice and thoughtful, well organized and have a lot more to offer than kayaking.|Some of the cute little apartments by the water are super cute, might be a great rental in the future.|we loved our experience kayaking , it was amazing, easy to get in & out of the harbor.|thank you!
