Kalari Kovilakom, CGH Earth Ayurveda hospital

I arrived at Kalari Kovilakom on Easter Day with high expectations, only to be met with a truly disappointing experience. During my very first massage session—meant to mark the beginning of a healing journey—I was subjected to loud construction drilling noises that completely ruined the atmosphere and made it impossible to relax. Despite several requests to address the issue, the noise continued throughout the entire day. Eventually, the General Manager admitted they were behind on construction work, but offered no apology or gesture to acknowledge the disruption and discomfort caused. For a place that positions itself as a sanctuary for peace and restoration, this was completely unacceptable. A deeply disheartening start to what was supposed to be a transformative stay.

Kalari Kovilakam was a palace, now am ayurvedic hospital offering healthcare and ayurvedic treatments based on ancient Indian system of healing. This was the place where first Chinmaya Vidyalaya was held. Kovilakam temple is opened for visitors during the Kollengode Aarattu. Also, I've been here for few Violin and music concerts. It was a great experience:))))

This palace is built by Kollengode Raja in 1904 and gave it to his daughter. In 1975, the Department of Archeology acquired the property and converted it into a museum. Now Kalari Kovilakom is one of the finest Ayurvedic retreats in the state of Kerala. Run by CGH Earth Ayurveda resorts group. Tourists come from far and wide to experience the effects of science of Ayurveda.
