WOW! This place is so beautifully designed and well thought out! We absolutely love taking our six-year-old and four-year-old. The rooftop playground is incredible. Every floor has something accessible for everyone. So much fun!

Kaleideum in downtown Winston-Salem was a great experience for our family. I took my 5-year-old and newborn, and we all had a great time. There were tons of hands-on exhibits that kept my older kid engaged and excited, and the space was very family-friendly and easy to navigate with a stroller. The staff was friendly and everything felt clean and well-maintained. It’s the kind of place you can visit again and again — highly recommend for families with young kids!

It was my son’s 7 birthday and he wanted to come here after going with his school earlier in the year. I took my 19 and 12 year old girls and they all had a fun time. We went for 4 hours until they closed! The price was reasonable. We will return. Staff was nice, bathrooms were clean. I enjoyed squeegee the water area. lol that was a great idea to add that. Because in fact I did want to do that. My kids enjoyed doing it too. Which is oddly funny.

I have been to all the children’s museums in the triad area and this one is by far the best in my opinion. Four levels of fun for kids of all ages, including me at 55! I have a granddaughter with autism and she was so excited by the exhibits and was not overstimulated. We will be back for sure and are looking into becoming members!!

Great place for the children. Soo much to do it's worth the price. What I personally like about it is the wellness rooms they have. As a mother who breastfeed this private room was perfect. Came to write a review because of it.

Awesome experience great for all ages. So glad we took our 13 & 12 yr old to it. They had a ton of fun.

I loved the toddler/baby area. The entire place was clean and the toys were all put back. You could tell there was staff constantly keeping up with it. I wish there was more to do for my almost 2 year old but what she could do we loved.

One of the BEST children’s museums we’ve ever taken our kids to! Every floor and exhibit area was epic. And a rooftop playground! My kids didn’t want to leave!!!

Yelp
In short: An interactive museum of arts, sciences and exploration that is for all ages! Kaleideum was formed by the merger of SciWorks and The children's museum of Winston-Salem in July 2016. The goal of this merger was to reimagine learning and better meet the needs of the diverse community by providing access to informal science discovery and cultural experiences. I came here with two adult friends and my son who is 8. The museum is 4 stories (including the roof which has a beautiful playground overlooking the city). We were told to start at the top and work our way down and this is exactly what we did and would recommend to everyone . Each level has soooo many things to do whether it be interactive , experiments, or simply water play. We spent an easy 4 hours there and could've done more if the coffee shop was as open haha. Long story short, go here if you can. It's worth the entrance fee and experience :)

Yelp
Came here for a "Kaleideum After Dark" night which is basically when it gets opened to adults who are kids at heart. It was a lot of fun, we didn't even get to every floor because there was so much to do. Highlights were the Photo Booth where you can experiment with a room that has 360 degree cameras for an interesting "rotating " still shot along with a delayed multi-shot room where you can create pictures with "trail" effects. I tried it out while enjoying a craft beer named in honor of the museum. Beyond that was the outdoor area where there were various slides, "jungle gym" style playgrounds and other assorted things. Also there was a very nice view of the Winston downtown skyline. I have no doubt this place is great for your kids but overall I had a great time and would highly recommend it to anyone who might want to mix up their nightlife routine.

Yelp
So fun! I took my niece here and enjoyed myself even as and adult. The museum is so engaging. There are four floors and a gift shop. Passes are free at the library.

Yelp
What a great place to spend the day with the kids! Very clean. There are so many activity zones for Littles! You can go in and out as long as your hand is stamped. We can't wait to come back! $4 validated parking nearby.

Yelp
This place is awesome. Brand new children's museum. They spared no expense. Fun around every corner. Inside and outside stuff. Only thing that sucks here is their cafe. Pretend it doesn't exist and eat up street - like the cafe is the worst. Kids played here for 4 hours. So many interactive things to do with slide, airflow, balls on ramps, science, etc. guaranteed good time if your kid is under 12.

Yelp
FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE! Economical and educational but at the same time a whole lot of fun.

Yelp
We've been to many children's museums in many towns and even went to this one before it moved downtown. Nearly everything is better and newer, but the only gripe is the parking. It's just not as convenient as a private lot. With the cost of admission, it should always be included or have 2 hours free or something. Lots of outdoor climbing spaces on the roof and floors of fun. The water area was particularly cool. Cafe on the bottom with overpriced stuff but at least it's hidden from kid view.

Yelp
It's fine. Nice new location. A lot of stuff from the old places were moved here. The water room is fun, and clearly taking a page out of High Point Museum's book. The fog room is especially a hit. We came for the first time on a Thursday afternoon during spring break. It was busy. I still have a personal vendetta against being charged admission for adults. If you want to supervise my kids then I'm happy to not come in...it's just exploitive and something I always have to look past. Parking is free on the weekends, but on this day I got to contribute donating to the city of Winston by parking in a nearby garage. They have a lot next door with signs for valet parking. Not sure if that is worth doing. There were many open spots there, so I'm guessing not much of the crowd decided to park there. We parked in the garage on Cherry St. I'm sure we'll be back to check out the rooftop exhibit. Might be a better experience when the crowds die down. I enjoy the camera they put with the animal areas. They get super close and focus with great texture and detail. It's a bit creepy but cool. They claim the water for the water room is all recycled, but I would like more info on that, since I saw all the water on the floor getting swept into the drain...don't let the facts get in the way of a good story, I guess? They brought some things, but gone are the Krispy Kreme, Food Lion, and fairytale exhibits. They put in a coffee shop for another cash grab. A lot of the place is empty hallways and stairwells. I'm sorry, but this is not an improvement. They even used to have free parking. Maybe we'll be back once to check out the rooftop exhibit, but this is a sad first impression mostly. I can go to High Point for the kids to play in the water room.

Yelp
My son is a big Kaleideum fan. We have been going for years, so we were looking forward to the new museum opening. If you go on the weekend street parking is free. The deck next to the museum has a 4-dollar day pass every day of the week. You need to get tickets online since they sell out fast. The museum itself is very nice. There are several floors and each offers fun things for kids. He loved the water area. The outdoor area will be opening soon. I think kids of multiple ages would have a great time here. They have a snack area, but you are close to some great restaurants to have lunch.

Yelp
I'm splitting this review with a 3. I'd give the lay out and exhibits 5 stars, and especially the outdoor playground! However 1 star for the logistics and groups allowed. We took my daughter there on a Tuesday for her 2nd birthday and we arrived shortly after opening. The price is $15 for adults and $12 for kids over 11 months, so that cost with parking was $50 for us. I checked social media accounts to ensure everything was good to go, only to learn once we were inside that water works was closed. IF we would've had this knowledge prior, we would've gone to high point because she loves the water room so much. Anywho-we were there for about 2 hours (unfortunately) due to the volume of field trips. We spent our time avoiding the masses of screaming 1st-4th graders (I counted 3 different schools based on shirts). I had definitely expected field trips whenever we went, but have never experienced that volume and chaos that made it impossible to experience the exhibits. I asked on our way out if that is the norm-and was informed that it is. So unfortunately it sounds like they don't limit numbers or field trips. We won't be returning during the school year.

Yelp
Great place to burn a few hours with kids. They have 4 floors of entertainment. We were here for 4 hours straight. Plenty of seating on every floor for the parents to sit, read and enjoy some downtime as the kids explore and play. They have a military discount and it's free during the summer for veterans. They also have a food court, a few life animals behind glass, and an occasional show on the first floor. Parking is $4 compared to $2 per hour if you park on Liberty Parking garage with a Kaleideum voucher. My kids had hours of fun today and I was a happy but exhausted parent! Strongly recommend.

Yelp
Amusement for the eyes and mind, while investing in the future, Kaleideum is the place to be. This place is sure to peak the interest of anyone that steps in. The museum consists of three main floors with a rooftop outdoor playground that is located on the third and fourth floor. Outside of the museum is a park and local artwork. When you go, you will need several hours to stop and enjoy the sights. The staff are super friendly and patient. My family's personal favorites are the rooftop playground (3rd & 4th floor) and the Water wonders exhibit on the 3rd floor next to the bathrooms and elevators.

Yelp
We've been eagerly awaiting the grand opening of this place for awhile, especially having been to all the other great children's museums in the triad. Winston-Salem was long overdue for something like this here and it's a huge level up from its old location. The building is huge! There's 4 exporable floors and a rooftop, though it won't be open till this summer. Everything felt reminiscent of the old Kaleidum in terms of offerings and play style set ups but much more up to date and new. For example, the water play area now rivals those you may see at Nido and Mariana Qubein in High Point with a variety of water activities to experiment with PLUS a fog hall where you can entertain light beams shooting through and interactive video walls. A nature center offers a brightly colored macaw and several viewable reptiles with video cameras kids can control to get a better look inside their spaces. I love how they really focused on making it accessible for little kiddos to be able to really peak in and see. One of the exhibits was even on the ground. The play area of the animal center offers a place for to dress up and be a vet right within that space which I thought made a lot of sense and a super cute tie in. Hard to run out of things to do here. We got our morning reservations for the 10am -1pm run time and found that to be plenty. As members, we're looking to make several more worthwhile visits to allow our kids to have meaningful playtime in a safe, educational, and fun environment so close to home. Definitely recommend, parents!

Yelp
I went here on a Saturday right when they opened at 10am with my 2 year old son. Be aware that you will most likely have to pay for parking, but there are garages nearby with reasonable prices. I did not buy tickets prior, but the line to buy tickets was quick. The ticket prices were reasonable, especially with all your child can experience here. My best tip is to bring a full change of clothes and/or a rain jacket. Your child will get wet to some degree in the waterworks area. I appreciated how I was able to bring in personal snacks/drinks. The family changing rooms were also very nice because they had 2 toilets and one was smaller which worked great for my son. When we left around 12:40pm there was a sign outside saying the place had reached max capacity so I would keep that in mind when planning your next trip. We will definitely be back in the future!

Yelp
Such a fun place to take my niece and nephew! They absolutely loved everything about it!

Yelp
Wow! Kids had so much fun learning! This place just opened and is super cool for the kids! My kids spent hours there. Water fun, electricity fun, air fun. Best for 12 and under.

Yelp
Tons of activity for the little one and love that they have a quite place to give them a break. A great adventure for sure.
