Overall wonderful experience. Food: highly recommend the tasting menu. The portions are generous for a tasting menu, and everything is very delicious and plated beautifully. They did offer options for kids not on the menu, our child got steak with buttered noodles. Atmosphere: cozy dining room, fine dining experience Service: absolutely wonderful service. Servers were able to explain each dish in English very clearly. Reservations available.

Excellent restaurant, best for celebrations or to have a surprising and unique culinary experience whilst travelling. The food is of Michelin star quality and the attention to detail given in the food and service is fabulous. The folks who attended us were very kind. The food is unique, a lot of fusion options with local produces. On top of what we ordered, we were given bread and final dessert for tasting( sorry don't know any names). We tried the lamb, beef and risotto for main course, salmon appetizer, and thee desserts. The cashew cream dessert, the white chocolate and the seaweed based one were all great.

Really liked this place. We were fortunate to walk in and meet the chef before being seated. He told us a little about his vision for the food and about the restaurant. Our experience was good and I would say that this is fine dining compared to the restaurants we tried closer to the strip. Service was great and the experience was top notch. My main meal was the fish soup that was apparently caught by the chef that morning, and my spouse had the lamb. Both were delicious! If we had more time, we would have tried the set menus but that will have to wait until our next visit

Really excellent fish dishes. Service and the chef himself were very friendly but sometimes struggled to explain every dish. Also, the paper menu did not correspond to the actual menu being served (e.g., there was no king crab). Somewhat bland ice cream in the desert was a small letdown. Still, all in all well worth the visit.

Outstanding restaurant. The tasting menu here was one of the highlights of my entire trip to Argentina. It’s built around local products and what they can get from Tierra del Fuego waters, so even if you’ve visited the obligatory steakhouse elsewhere, this is a different high end dining experience. You’ll also get a lot more personal attention than in many of the busy Buenos Aires restaurants. I especially liked the plate with the king crab and the edible seaweed.

This is the best restaurant in Ushuaia. Food, especially locally sourced food, is clearly the chef’s passion and he knows his tastes and flavours. I didn’t fancy the tasting menu but essentially picked three courses and the price was about the same. Three excellent dishes. My wife had three different ones and they were excellent too. Service was excellent and in Spanish and English. Great bottle of wine too. Didn’t want to spend a lot on wine so bought a cheaper bottle and it was one of the best we’ve had. Definitely Michelin guide standard, not tourist food, and although not really any more expensive than anywhere else we’ve eaten in Ushuaia, a million times better quality and value for money.

I absolutely love this place. The food here is miles league ahead of the restaurants in the tourist area. I did the set menu and I really loved the fish here. The fish sashimi was absolutely fantastic.

Yelp
What a wonderful find for dinner. This restaurant was rated the top gastronomical project in Argentina and one can see why. We were greeted by Camilla And promptly seated at our table. They brought us a complementary soup which I can't describe but it was delicious and a gin cocktail infused with a berry of sorts... Complementary as well. Our appetizers including a crab hotdog which was delectable and a tortilla filled with crab and topped with white salmon. The portions were large and delicious and enough to share. My wife had a delicious steak over a vegetable mixture and I had the lamb tortellini. Both were fabulous. The steak was very easily shareable. All of this coupled with a beautiful cub Frank made for a delicious dining experience. Many thanks to Camila and her colleague for providing such excellent service. It was also refreshing that chef came out and went to each table and ask them how they like their meal. This restaurant is off the beaten path but an easy walk from downtown Ushuaia. It's worth journeying up the hill a little bit for fabulous dining experience. Thanks again to Chef and the rest of the staff for a wonderful restful meal

Yelp
This restaurant is outstanding. The service was attentive and friendly. We had the tasting menu, which I highly recommend. The dishes were inventive, impeccably seasoned and each one was surprising. The combines and subtlety in flavors was nothing I've ever had: salmon with strawberries, sea bass with white chocolate, grilled rhubarb... it was truly a wonderful experience. Thank you for this gem.

Yelp
Incredible night. Beautiful Tasting menu with surprise dish in between. Accompanying wines are nice, service is excellent. Clean dishes where taste of local ingredients stand out.

Yelp
Exceptional experience from start to end. We had high expectations given the previous reviews, which often leads to disappointment. That was certainly not the case here. Everything- and I do mean EVERYTHING was special. It began with a warm greeting from the hostess Emma who is also the waitress, followed by personal service from the chef/owner. The atmosphere is intimate, quiet, casual and yet still elegant and modern. Their special aperitif was so delicious, we had a second before following up with a beautiful wine (their selection of fine wines is extensive). The food itself was deserving of a Michelin star (and we know because we seek out Michelin restaurants during our travels). His unexpected combination of ingredients is not only a work of art on the plate, but the tastes were so unusual and so very delicious. We are so fortunate to have found this gem and will be spreading the word so that this place continues to do well. 5 stars in every category!

Yelp
This is absolutely delicious and thoughtfully crafted cuisine. All the ingredients are locally sourced by Chef Jorge Monopoli. We had the sea urchin as an initial amuse bouche, it was served in its shell with a lemon wedge and was not overly briny. As an appetizer we had the king crab tart that was amazing. As entrees we had the Merluza Negra (Patagonian Toothfish/Sea Bass) and Stuffed King Crab Pasta both were excellent. For dessert we had the Migas which has olive oil as a surprising ingredient--we were not disappointed. If you want to try seafood from the Beagle Channel that is fresh, tasty and well crafted then this is the place to try when in Ushuaia. By far one of the best meals we had and will think about long after we're home.

Yelp
We dined at Kalma Resto while in Patagonia. All ingredients are farm to table, prime quality and organic. Three of us dined different dishes. The service was excellent and very accommodating due to me not being able to eat gluten. The chef cooked my dishes following high standards and I never got sick. If you are walking from town near the pier , be prepared for a long hike up. We were very glad and grateful and going to this wonderful Patagonian restaurant was worth the effort. Our dinner was accompanied by a red Wine from Patagonia. Wish I could remember many names of the small details about our meals, the name of the dishes. It seems to me the menu changes according to season. I dined the merluza which on top had a foamy lobster broth. Honestly, everything I ate was marvelous, delicious and so delicate to the taste. I tasted the fish, shellfish and I went crazy with the sea asparagus which I had never eaten before. I highly recommend a stop for a unique wonderful dinner at Kalma Resto to on you stop or visit to Ushuaia. Please don't miss going there and make sure you make reservations.

Yelp
After a long day of touring, we enjoyed a delightful dinner at Kalma Resto. The amuse Bouche was delightful - a jam with almond dust and Brie. We shared the octopus ceviche, and salad to start. Both were presented beautifully, but I personally enjoyed the salad more. The salad had tomato, avocado, sunflower seeds, Brie, and a hard shell of cracker that encased the salad and could be used to eat the salad. For main course I got the raviolis which were delicious. We also got the black bass and the wrapped lamb. The wine was yummy and the chef/owner came over several times to chat with us. Would absolutely recommend to anyone who is in Ushuaia!

Yelp
So glad we found this place! Probably the best restaurant in Ushuaia. Intimate spot off the main drag, with friendly staff and chef who serves you. There is room for only about 10 tables of 2-4 top, with unique decor and ambiance. The most impressive has to be the excellent presentation of the food. Each dish was carefully plated and artistic. Great use of texture, color and taste. They have a decent selection of wines and artesian beers and though it wasn't on the menu, the chef made a lemonade which was delicious. They give a taster of pickled onions with a cucumber garnish in a soup spoon, though a little strong for my taste. The bread was excellent with a delicious egg-less mayonnaise aioli spread. We tried the octopus ceviche which had tasty pieces diced with pickled veggies and topped with a garlicky fried rice noodles which were unique. The merluza negra (black hake) a famous local fish, was light, flakey, buttery-so delicious, roasted with a salty crust and diced pineapple for a touch of sweetness. It was served in a light pool of tomato sauce, with delicious morsels of spinach gnocchi and a leaf of marigold. Do not pass on dessert! It was hard to decide but we settled on the pralines which were crumbled in a swirl with chocolate and topped with a scoop of ice cream and flagged a tall caramel swirl. It was delicious. Service was excellent and we plan on returning for another meal.

Yelp
We found this marvelous discovery on Yelp and had an incredibly memorable Christmas Eve prix fixed dinner. Course after course was paced and perfectly paired with with a special wine choice. Each was original, attractive and delicious. At the stroke of midnight the talented and very genial chef/owner, Jorge, gave a toast and the whole restaurant was on their feet. It was a very special meal that we will never forget.

Yelp
Again they hit it out of the ballpark. Combine impeccable service with outstanding food in a daily friendly atmosphere and you have the recipe for success. Started with an off the menu recommendation by the server of ceviche with octopus which was fantastic, followed by tagliatelle in creme sauce and Migas for dessert. Absolutely fantastic wine pairing recommendations. The family centric focus of the team is apparent as the chef was out entertaining his little guests and modifying or creating on the fly items to suite their tastes. An absolute winner you have to try when you come to Ushuaia. Make the 5 min walk up the hill. You won't be disappointed!

Yelp
Wonderful gourmet chef owned and operated restaurant. We had the the wine tasting menu and were delighted with the food and wine. Service was excellent. The chef will come out of the kitchen and check on his guests during the courses. Highly recommend!

Yelp
This chef is artist! Small portions, carefully crafted. Desert was something I never tried before - crumbs with cacao, nuts and olive oil and ice cream and let me tell you was one of the best deserts and surprises I ever had! This is foodie place - don't go there if you interested to have potatoes and meet ... :-)

Yelp
Do NOT miss this restaurant!!! The owner/chef, Jorge Monopoli, greeted us warmly and chatted with us . Once we settled, he explained the menu options which included a paired tasting menu. We chose it in order to sample various dishes and local wines. We were enthralled...the breads were warm And made with fresh herbs...the first course, a king crab appetizer was beautifully presented with a Torrentes pairing that was beautiful. The second course, a tangy cerviche with corn nuts that provided a nice crunch...this was paired with a Chardonnay. the third course was sea bass with purée of carrots and beets and crunchy rice paired with a melbec...fantastic!!!! Dessert was chocolate wonderfulnesss paired with a Moscato that finished off the evening beautifully!!! We each had coffee which was served with even more sweets that left us asking "how did he do that"??? The finest meal of our trip...and one of the finest meals ever....A gem at "el fin del mundo"!!!!!

Yelp
Wonderful restaurant. We were there on Christmas Day, so it was a prix fixe multi course menu. Everything was delicious. The standout was the hake, served on a bed of carmelized onions and puréed pumpkin. Amazing. Also very tender lamb and a yummy chocolate dessert. We were there early and got in without a reservation but it's a small place so you might need one later.
