5 Best Day Trips from Tokyo | Condé Nast Traveler

"A downright steal in the off-season, this hotel's biggest selling point is the wow-factor view of Sagami Bay and Mount Fuji. It may not be the height of fashion that it was when it opened in 1995, but it's well-kept. Every single room has a view of the bay, and with a pool, golf course, and three restaurants, this is the kind of hotel you never have to leave. Lounge in your slippers and robe while you watch the sun set behind Mount Fuji." - Brandon Presser

Kamakura Prince

"How did it strike you on arrival? It's all about the views of Sagami Bay and Mount Fuji. It may not be the height of fashion that it was when it opened in 1995, but it's well-kept. What’s the crowd like?Convention-goers, wedding guests, and middle-aged to older couples. The good stuff: Tell us about your room.Every single room has a view of the bay. Light sleepers beware: some are closer to the train tracks. We’re craving some deep, restorative sleep. They got us?The beds are fine, if a little firm, but not the main draw. How about the little things, like mini bar, or shower goodies. Any of that find its way into your suitcase?Lounge in your slippers and robe while you watch the sun set behind Mount Fuji! Please tell us the bathroom won’t let us down.Big bathrooms with a separate shower and tub, and a fancy Japanese toilet. Maybe the most important topic of all: Wi-Fi. What’s the word?Free and fast Room service: Worth it?With a pool, golf course, and three restaurants, this is the kind of hotel you never have to leave. For 2500JPY ($23), the breakfast buffet is pricey (especially when you can get a decent coffee and sandwich from a convenience store for less than $5), but maybe it's worth it to stay put and relax. Anything stand out about other services and features? Whether it’s childcare, gyms, spas, even parking—whatever stuck with you.Have I mentioned the view? What was most memorable—or heartbreaking—about your stay?I mean, seriously, the view! A note about the pool: there's a strict no-tattoo policy to keep Yakuza from harassing guests and management, a real bummer if your tattoos can't be covered by a swim suit or rash guard. Bottom line: worth it, and why? In the off-season it feels like a bargain for such a stunning view, but high-season prices can seem to high for the outdated look." - Hannah Kirshner

So good and peaceful place to stay while in Kamakura. The train station is nearby. The staff is super friendly. The hotel is huge, the rooms are big. The breakfast is Japanese and Western. There is a free bus between the hotel and the train station. We took a golf class and Pilates class near the hotel. The great place for vacation!

One night stop. It was great for us. Beds are small for adults but not untypical. Rooms were quiet and the view outside was beautiful! We did not eat breakfast here as it was about US$25 per adult. We instead went to Kamakura station as that area has lockers for our bags and lots of restaurant options around.

WARNING: HEALTH HAZARD|The rooms, the bathroom, and especially the air conditioning system are full of mold. It smells musty and is absolutely harmful to health. The hotel showed zero interest until we reported the situation to the tour operator. Even then, there was no acknowledgment whatsoever.||The mattresses are completely worn out.|The balcony is not a balcony but at best a loggia; there are no seating facilities at all.|In the lobby one can only sit between 11:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.; afterwards, the only option is to return to the room.||Rooms are not thoroughly cleaned—there were jelly beans under my bed, which could not have been overlooked if anyone had checked beneath it. The room is not worth a single cent, let alone the excessive price the hotel is charging.||Our so-called “Deluxe Room” was located in a passageway, making it noisy as many guests had to walk by.||The hotel brusquely argues in response to some reviews that “old rooms are fine.” I have stayed in hotels that were 30 years old, but under no circumstances is mold acceptable.||We asked the hotel for a price reduction, which was curtly rejected.||We will, of course, report the matter in detail to the public health office in Kamakura. Something must be done to protect future guests.||I find the lack of acknowledgment both shocking and disgraceful—an embarrassment for Japanese hotels and for the city.||⸻||Möchtest du, dass ich die Übersetzung in einem offiziellen Beschwerde-Ton (z. B. für eine E-Mail ans Gesundheitsamt oder an den Reiseveranstalter) noch etwas juristisch schärfer formuliere, oder soll sie so bleiben – direkt und emotional?

i think the hotel location is excellent! it provide shuttle bus to nearest train station - where it takes you to everywhere. However, there are some bad smell with the hallway, and also the room. probably it came from the air-conditions. Luckily, they provided air-dehuminfier.

My wife and l come to Japan at least 3 times a year and this is absolutely the worst hotel yet. We tried to cancel 5 days before, but nope, we came for (1 night paid for 2) 31c heat and pool was closed, air con not real good, got a fan & it stopped middle of the night, furniture old/dirty & out dated, garden obviously not maintained. We spoke to management and got a sorry, obviously no money in the budget to spend. I would not be surprised if the complex is owned off shore, sorry for the staff.

Google
I personally like the ambience, the quietness and space of this hotel. If you are looking for serenity, this is the place for you. Room size for two was decent. Location was slightly on top of a slope and had to walk 10 mins down to the sea front. There are a couple of restaurants within walking distance (10 mins) and also a convenience store 7 mins walk away. Beside the hotel is a golf driving range (2mins walk away) for golf enthusiasts to find some daily practice.

We stayed here for 3 nights with our Grandaughter.|The hotel is a 15 minute walk from the nearby train station. If you aren’t up for the walk, the hotel runs a shuttle service to/from the train station every half hour during the day.|Our room overlooked the ocean and Mt. Fuji. It was clear the last 2 days of our stay and you could see Mt. Fuji from our room. It was impressive.|Our room was very nice and well appointed. The hotel staff were efficient and friendly.|We would gladly stay here again.

This place is absolutely fantastic! The location is perfect, and the service is top-notch. You can even see the Fuji mountain from your room, and the views of the sea are breathtaking. Oh, and walking to the train station is a great idea.
