We’ve been meaning to try Kamal Palace for a long time and finally ordered delivery through Uber Eats. We got the Chana masala, mutter paneer, and bhindi masala—everything was flavorful, came with rice, and paired perfectly with some roti we heated at home. The spice level (we ordered mild) was spot on—perfect for enjoying the flavors without being overwhelmed, and easy to add extra heat at home if you want. It honestly reminded us of home-style cooking, which was comforting. The only downside was the oiliness—if the dishes were made with less oil, this could easily become our go-to Indian spot in Long Beach. Overall, really good food and definitely worth ordering again.

I recently visited Kamal Palace Restaurant and had a fantastic experience! We went for the buffet, and it was absolutely amazing — a great variety of delicious dishes, all fresh and full of flavor. The appetizers were a standout too — the pakoras were crispy and perfectly spiced, and the momos were juicy and flavorful. The service was warm and welcoming, and the overall ambiance made it a comfortable place to enjoy a great meal. Whether you’re looking for a casual buffet or tasty appetizers to share, Kamal Palace delivers. Definitely recommend checking it out!

Google
Considering the quality of the food, this is a proper diamond in the buffet rough for $17. Highly recommend if you're a fan of Indian cuisine. The flavors are very modestly muted for the American palette but is still packed full of spices and seasoned accordingly. Bonus for the waterfront seating that's available and the garlic naan they give at the beginning too.

Google
Buffet great deal though no Tikka Masala on day we went. Best Naan we've had in a while. Tandoori Chicken was superb. Enough offerings to satisfy including tasty Daal and samosas. A regular spot for us.

Google
This is an excellent place for a lunch buffet. For about 17$, the food was so good. Flavors were perfect. The spicy chicken was sooo good.. Service was friendly and appropriately attentive. Bathroom was clean. If you are in south Long Beach /north OC, and are craving Indian food, this is the place to go! The outside seating area has a great view of the water.

Google
This is the best Indian buffet I’ve been to. Our family has been coming here for over twenty years. Their food is fantastic, their service is impeccable, and they’ve even remodeled recently. Their servers and manager are some of the nicest people I’ve ever met.

Absolutely incredible experience! This riverfront view Kamal Palace is a hidden gem. The view from the outdoor seating area is peaceful and refreshing — perfect for a relaxed meal with family or friends. Inside, the dine-in space is clean, welcoming, and has a warm ambiance. But what truly makes this place stand out is the food and the people. The buffet was outstanding , every dish was flavorful, fresh, and clearly made with care. From the fragrant biryanis to the perfectly spiced curries and fresh naan, everything was delicious and well-stocked. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel like part of their family. They were attentive, kind, and genuinely cared about our comfort and satisfaction. You can tell they take pride in what they do and want every guest to feel at home. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for great Indian food in a beautiful setting with the kindest service you’ll find anywhere!

Yelp
I think Kamal Palace is more known for their lunch buffet and being one of few Indian buffet options in Long Beach. Sure, Artesia isn't that much further from here so you could just hop there and go find multiple options, but sometimes I don't want to deal with figuring out where to go there and parking. Kamal Palace is easy to get to and easy to park. So we decided to actually eat ala carte because the SO and I were just craving Indian. We started with their Tofu Pakora, which was absolutely fantastic due to them using chickpea flour to fry it in, vs regular flour. This was a very smart idea and the whole thing was just a delight. We then ordered 3 entrees: Bhindi Masala, Garlic Sizzler Manchurian Veg, and Tofu Masala. The sizzler dish, to me, seemed like veggie pakora in a sauce. It was good, don't get me wrong, but it didn't quite hit like I thought it would. The tofu matar was solid and these guys really know how to cook tofu well. Most places that do tofu well understand that tofu needs to be able to absorb the flavors it's mixed with to really stand out. For me, the bhindi masala was amazing. At a different Indian spot in Torrance (I think it's Bombay Tandoori in Torrance off PCH, in a Best Western hotel I think), that was the first time I've had okra indian-style (there it was bhindi bharata) and I've been hooked. I think okra is a highly underrated vegetable and Kamal Palace did a fantastic job with it. I really want to say, just go here for the ala carte. It's quality is better than the buffet. It may not be as good of a "value" but the quality of their ala carte is solid.

Yelp
I've wanted to come here for a while to try the lunch buffet. The restaurant is kind of hidden but signs from the front of the entrance of the building help guide you. Service was great! The tables are very nicely presented and they're quick to clear empty plates or ready to refill water. Naan is made to order so it may take some time but it comes out fresh and delicious. The buffet setup is smaller than what I expected but they had a nice variety of curry and meat as well as vegetarian options and salad/dessert bar. For $16.95, everyday, it's an excellent value! Personally, I felt the curries were on the mild side which is great for kids. The regular menu is very expansive with more spice level options it seems. The garbanzo bean curry was my favorite with the smoked or grilled chicken thighs. For dessert, the rice pudding is the perfect way to end the meal!

Yelp
My husband and I visited their lunch buffet. Tucked into the marina, this spot definitely had an old-school vibe. You have to go on a mini adventure if you park on the Barnes & Noble side of the lot, across bridges and up and down stairs. There's plenty of signage to point you in the right direction, or just like follow your nose.  The lunch buffet had two standard-sized buffet tables with lots of staples and a couple of their specialties. Samosas and pakoras, daal, saag, biryani, chicken mahkni, vegetable jalfrezi, and.....chili chicken?  There's Indo-Chinese (and Nepalese) on this menu too.  The star of the show was definitely the chicken mahkni -- the chicken was super tender and the sauce was rich and spicy (but not in the too much heat kind of way). We're talking rich and spicy in the way that your fingertips get a little bit stained because the naan bread is a vehicle not a shield.  They brought out hot, fresh garlic naan by request. They made sure to keep our water glasses full. The food was very good for the price, though we did have minor overindulgence tummy aches later.

Yelp
I went back to Kamal Palace for the lunch buffet. They finally brought back the buffet after the pandemic. The price was a little higher compared to pre-pandemic times, but they brought lamb back on the weekday buffet. Before the pandemic, lamb originally served at the weekday buffets. Then things changed. Lamb was only being served at weekend buffets for a slightly higher price. To my delight, lamb is back during the week. The buffet is not huge but they have several entrees and appetizers along with condiments, salads, fruit and dessert. A basket of freshly made naan is waiting at your table, when you get back. When you consider Kamal Palace buffet price, one trip to the buffet competes with a single serving entree plate at some other nice ambience eatery serving Asian food for lunch.

Yelp
Kamal Palace just boosted my rating to 5 -stars! Our prior experiences at this restaurant were all buffet lunches. But tonight, we were craving Indian food for dinner and decided it was time to check out their menu offerings. The menu itself makes it really easy to order vegan since they are clearly marked. We started off with the Tofu Pakora which rocked my world! The crunch from the chickpea flour batter was so satisfying in both texture and flavor. There was also a bit of sauce sandwiched in between two pieces of tofu which added a bit more seasoning. This appetizer is a must-have for me! Upon first bite, I called this pakora my new favorite thing: https://bit.ly/44sgsz5 Veg Manchurian came with batter-fried cauliflower, carrot, and potato covered with a spicy-sweet saucy sauce. This came out sizzling hot on a bed of sliced onions and bell peppers. Peep the steam coming off of this dish: https://bit.ly/4bkgkDY Hubby couldn't resist ordering the Bhindi Masala. The okra was cooked down to a chewy texture which gave it a more heartier trait. https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/kamal-palace-long-beach?select=1JXkQAq0mgzGZU7DaYH-jQ Tofu Matar with green peas had a good balance of spices while providing more protein to our veg-heavy meal. https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/kamal-palace-long-beach?select=ZO25bTiDR4ecb3hIqkp8YQ Service was amazing! Friendly staff, helpful, and observant. Our server noticed that we ordered all vegan items. Then when Hubby ordered Garlic Naan, he took the initiative to let us know that the naan isn't vegan, and then suggested roti. I decided not to get the roti since our meal came with rice. So SO good! I look forward to more visits while working my way through their menu.

Yelp
The lunch buffet is a good value. There's a variety of choices including both veggie and meat, all fresh and warm in the steam trays. I tried a small amount of most dishes on my first visit and found everything flavorful and enjoyable. It's a great option for groups as well.

Yelp
They have a $16.95 Indian buffet off the water and it's super low key! Nice lil ambiance and no body was there when I went to pick up. I'll go back. Food smells good.

Yelp
STEPH JUDGEMENT: The agony and the ecstasy is still in effect. Their food is still great (although sometimes inconsistent), but the service is also still subpar. We mostly get stuff to go, and after our last dine-in experience we may just keep it that way. We had an older male server who was really very sweet and pleasant, but seemed a little clueless. I think he forgot our drink orders because some other tables got their stuff way before we did, even when they were seated after us, so we had to remind him and then we got our drinks. The food took a while to come out, but it was busy, so can't say it was the server's fault, but water glasses not filled while other tables' were, and the check took a while to get to us. So...yeah, takeout it is.

Yelp
It's been about 30 years now and this place still hits the spot. It's a little weird to get to (going downstairs from parking lot), the it's actually a little waterfront place in Long Beach. The best deal is their buffet. All their dishes are tasty and the garlic naan is a must. Keep up the great work, gentlemen!

Phyliss L.

Yelp
The food is great authentic!! Kind of dark. Service was a bit chaotic. Need a good wait staff to seal the deal.

Yelp
For a good India cuisine, Kamal Palace. The food is excellent, and service outstanding! Please give this place a try.

Yelp
Buffet review only - Was really happy to see the buffet was once again available. Always a good choice for lunch! Service was prompt and efficient. I always drink chai at Indian restaurants and Kamal's was good. I didn't try any of their beers but it seems they have a good selection of Indian beers. Good selection of food, fruit, salads, and dessert. Everything I had was tasty! Lots of table seating inside. I noticed they also have some tables outside on the marina.
google avatar

Christins B.

Yelp
Amazing food & service. We order delivery and they are quick and it's always hot. Very nice too!!
google avatar

Jeff Y.

Yelp
As of March 2023, the lunch buffet is back! It wasn't the largest spread and was missing samosas, but costs $16.95+tax. I like how the naan served in the basket was automatically garlic naan, although I still wish it were more crispy. Service was pretty good about clearing used plates. The interior was cozy and warm on a cold day. See my previous review for additional details.

Yelp
My go to all you can eat Indian buffet in the area! Glad the buffet is back. Even though the price went up it's still worth it! You can eat multiple servings, appetizers to entrees and get some dough balls for desserts. Tandoori chicken can be a bit dry sometimes but you can always douse it with tika masala sauce or the spinach sauce. :) Their selections of chutneys are awesome too! Service is always good. Parking is plentiful. It's located at the Marina Pacifica complex, so you can walk around and enjoy the view after your lunch.

Yelp
Went for the lunch buffet. Interior is nice and looks like a high end restaurant with white table clothes. The food was delicious they had about 12 different choices. 2 were chicken and one was lamb the rest were vegetable dishes and so tasty compared to other Indian food buffets. Soda was a bit overpriced $4 for a can of Coke but other than that fantastic with friendly waiters.

Yelp
I had ordered food online for my daughter's birthday because she lives in Long Beach and she has been wanting to try this restaurant so I surprised her with the order for her to pick up after school at Long Beach State and she and her girlfriend were very pleased with the food that they picked up they had ordered chicken tikka masala and garlic naan. They said it was delicious they're only complaint was that they did not get enough rice for two people there was really only enough for one but other than that they were pleased. The food was ready when they came to pick it up at 7:00 p.m. today and so all went well I was a little nervous because I live in Northern California but it all worked out beautifully. Thank you

Yelp
Very small and limited buffet, but the food is good, service is great! No much lease to be said. I have not ordered off their menu, or ordered take out.
google avatar

Dan S.

Yelp
Terrible hidden location with lots of stairs and no readily apparent elevator. I was there for their $17.95 lunch buffet. The tandoori chicken was juicy. The chicken Tikka Masala was good. They have chili chicken which I love. 3 or 3 hot vegetarian dishes. Fixings for a green. 2 types of rice. Dessert etc. Some seating outdoors which overlooks the marina! Service was attentive.

Yelp
An Indian coworker took us here for lunch blowout great food and service.Food was far more better from the restaurant here in Artesia's Little India. We came back again last Friday.

Yelp
The food, and service are great. The ambiance is very nice, but we usually order to go. Highly recommend as been going here over 20 years. I have a favorite, but my wife has tried, and loved a good portion of the menu.

Sha H.

Yelp
Of course, the food is very good. My concern is the young children allowed to go to the buffet without a parent. A sign needs to be posted that children under age 10 must be accompanied by a parent. On May 11, 2024, one child was taking what he wanted out of the Samosa bin with his hands, without using utensils. Another child put his fingers in his mouth, dipped them into the rice pudding bin, then put his fingers in his mouth again. The parents all along, sitting at the table, looking at the children, and not saying a word to them. this type of thing is why buffets were closed down so long during an after Covid.

Yelp
I have been over 15 years in LB and this is my first time here because when I am craving Indian food I go to Artesia. The employees are for sure ten stars, super nice and welcoming. Buffet has many choices. The food is decent, safe in terms of flavor, not as bold in spices garlic and onions as the same dishes you get in Artesia. It is understandable because of course you need to cater to your audience. Location is cute and price very reasonable. Will I go back? Yes, if I am not able to go to Artesia. I added an extra star because the food for me had a very calming effect. I slept like I haven't in a while.

Yelp
Kamal Palace has been a fixture in Long Beach for many years (decades, actually). Their facility is always fresh and clean. The staffing is very helpful, allowing we customers to fully enjoy the wonderful food. Visit and enjoy!

Irms R.

Yelp
staff is friendly, food is delicious, variety of food and drink options, price is reasonable, plaza parking.

Yelp
Good Indian and Nepali food by the water at a very reasonable price. Try their Nepali specialties like Momos (dumplings)and Sekuwa (meat kebabs). Family run and very friendly. Service can be slow, but the price and food make up for it. We've even hosted a dinner party here for 20 people and were very satisfied. By far the best choice for Indian food in the LBC area.

Trinh G.

Yelp
Everything was YUMMY!!!! The lamb entree was to die for!!! You have not lived until you have eaten the lamb marrow. The garlic naan comes to the table fresh and hot and is unlimited.
google avatar

Gracie N.

Yelp
I've been here so many times they deserve a review of complements Which is well overdue. Food is always delicious my favorite is chicken korma and my friends is chicken tiki Marsala. Service is good and very welcoming. We love love sitting out in the patio area over looking Marina

Kaleend D.

Yelp
Its a bit difficult to find the restaurant since it is on a lower level as compared to the parking lot. Overall as far as the food is concerned, its good. Tried the veg Manchurian dry and it was nice and spicy, very tasty. For maincourse we tried the rara paneer which was average, ended up being sweet, more than my liking. The malai kofta was pretty good. Big koftas and rich curry made for the good taste. The garlic naans and the cheese naan are very good as well. The service provided by staff is good and the ambiance is pleasing, especially given it is by the waterfront. Buffet is available in mornings.
google avatar

Donna B.

Yelp
I pass this plaza all the time. There is ample parking in the lot in front of Faucet N Fixtures and they are located on the lower level. You have to go downstairs and follow the arrows through the tunnel. They offer indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor seating area has a view of the marina slip so it is somewhat of a relaxing view. The interior is decorated well, filled with vibrant refs and gold. The staff was very friendly and courteous. I ordered food to go so I didn't have the indoor dining experience. While placing my order i was made to feel very welcomed. I was offered a seat at a table and some water while I waited. Everything is made fresh to order so I waited around 15 minutes. I ordered the potato samosas and aloo bengan with medium spice level. I love spicy food and the medium had a good kick. On my next visit I will dine in to get the full experience and I will order spicy.
google avatar

Asicela M.

Yelp
Food is always very flavorful and fresh. Service is great and attentive! Whether sitting inside or outside it's always worth it. Door dash orders and pick up have also been smooth and just as tasty and fresh. Just avoid the restrooms if you can.

Yelp
Dined here many times... Food is always yummy Customer service is always warm and friendly

Yelp
I've ordered from this restaurant a couple of times. All the food is great! From their chicken tika masala to the buttered chicken! I love to get myself an order of garlic naan to go with my food. All plates include a good amount of rice to compliment everything you get. Whether its was a delivery or a pickup order my food has always been of good quality. Found on the lower level of the plaza, the restaurant is near the waterfront so not too bad to go in person and dine there. Best Indian food in the area hands down.
google avatar

Marcelino R.

Yelp
Best Indian food around! The service is top notch. They were quick, friendly, and always ready to refill my drink. It's a very cute hidden place right by the water. I'd highly recommend you take a visit.

Isabella D.

Yelp
Been coming here forever highly recommend! Everything I've had has been amazing, wouldn't go to any other Indian restaurant.

Branko R.

Yelp
Food was very tasty and latge portions Service was above average, very quuck and pleasant Ambiance was nice, fairly quiet

Niaz K.

Yelp
Oh, my goodness! This place has a hidden entrance, and it is very tricky to reach out there! After all the struggle even if you reach out to this place, it has the lousiest buffet we have ever experienced. We invited someone and we got embarrassed in front of our guests and really disappointed by the lousy food. No taste at all! Definitely not worthy to waste money on this lousy restaurant.
google avatar

Manny A.

Yelp
this Indian restaurant is an incredible experience. The food is so flavorful and the restaurant is cute. We are definitely making this a regular place.

Luke L.

Yelp
Their food is 100% on point and really good. Ive went to a lot of Indian restaurants already, but this has remained my first top choice of good food. Price can be expensive, but really good food.

Yelp
My little secret. I usually come here twice a week directly for my lamb chops, chicken tikka masala and my Naan breads! Everyone who works here are very friendly and basically know my order as soon as I was through the door. I can't wait to have my lamb chops!!

Yelp
Another great buffet lunch at Kamal palace, not sure what anything was, but it was ALL good.

Sandra B.

Yelp
This is my first visit to Kamal Palace and I really enjoyed it. I am a vegan and assumed they'd have options to suit my lifestyle. Then there are my taste buds, which are dainty and can only endure a mild spice. Kamal Palace delivered on both! Three of us went for lunch and I asked to see a menu, however my server mentioned that an entree would be similarly priced to the buffet, which had vegan options. We walked to the buffet table and he pointed out every vegan delight. He also mentioned he'd bring me naan specifically for my dietary preferences. Several appetizers, rices and entrees were to my liking. Of course I went back for seconds! The food and spice were mild, not tasteless, but not hitting you over the head--I thought it was "just right" for being a heat lightweight. We sat indoors by the window and noticed additional seating near the water, which would have been nice on a warmer day. I enjoyed the fun galaxy carpet (navy with stars and swirls) and although the restaurant is not completely updated, it was not a deterrent. One of my friends who went with me mentioned that she's ready to go back for more, which was less than two weeks ago--I am in total agreement. Another visit to Kamal Palace and their lunch buffet is scheduled for the near future.

Jan S.

Yelp
We had a delicious lunch buffet, and we enjoyed the water view on the patio. Highly recommended. Great food at a very good price.

Yelp

Yelp
this place has a great buffet! price is right and food is great! service is also great! love coming here on weekends and eat all I want and beer/wine selection is great too! can't say anything negative, so if you're in the neighborhood then definitely try this place out.

Yelp
My husband & I were craving Indian cuisine so we tried this place for the first time. We were not disappointed. The food was delicious & the lunch buffet offered plenty of good options all for a great price $16.99. And it included savory naan. And the staff were friendly and attentive. We plan to be regular customers .

Yelp
Best Indian Restaurant in town!!! Love the customer service and the pleasant view. Outdoor seating also available, by the water & boats. We ordered a few dishes spicy and they were amazing!!! Packed with flavor, yummy! I'll be back with more friends and family so sure. Thank you for the great food & keep up the excellent work.

Yelp
This place was awesome. It's literally a hidden gem but worth seeking out. There's 3 Indian places near us and after trying this one we like this one best! Food was delicious and if you go during the day there is nice views of the water! Definitely recommend!
