Kamasu Sushi

Kamasu by Kissaki Hospitality Group recently opened a temaki spot in the Financial District. Big quiet area with friendly staffs and a robot that helps bring food out too. This is a great spot to grab a quick lunch or dinner while getting your temaki fix. They offer a simple and efficient menu which you can order via their tablet or staffs. Grab a seat and prepare yourself for a temaki surprise.

Had the Gyudon Donburi bowl which was out of this world and my friend had the tuna avocado donburi and loved it too. The spicy scallop temaki was one of the best Japanese bites I’ve ever had - it’s now going to be a must order of mine. And then there’s the adorable BellaBot who brings over your dishes. This place is such a fabulous addition to FiDi!

The place is understaffed. The waiter was confused about a simple order and my group had to explain it four times. We had to wait over an hour for one dish to be brought out and the food was mediocre. I would not suggest anyone come here. There are much better Japanese restaurants in the city. This restaurant is a joke. Fancy decorations do not make up for lack of service and average food. I am deeply disappointed in Kamasu.

I went with some friends, and we were really excited to try this place since it has just opened up, but the service was bad from the start. We were seated at a table that only had utensils at half of the spots and had to ask to get utensils for the rest of the table. After we ordered, it took over an hour to get our food. I know at some restaurants food comes out at different times, but for us, the cooked food came out first, and the people who ordered the hot food finished their meals before the people who ordered sushi got their food. There was also only one server, which definitely isn’t enough staff to support the entire restaurant. Overall, it was a very lackluster and disappointing experience and we will not be returning.

Just keep walking, don’t bother with this place- staff is nice enough, but so understaffed that you won’t get your food until an hour and a half in. Food is pretty mediocre- you’re honestly probably better served walking 100ft down pearl street to the Japanese market and picking something from there that’ll be more tasty and cheaper. The temaki is just _ok_ but priced way too high for what you’re actually getting. Also the decor is kinda depressing, but that’s more subjective.

I had a tuna avocado dobury and it was really tasty definitely recommend if you’re around

Went in thinking the portions would be like typical . Instead, they are just tiny sushi nigiris wrapped in seaweed. While the taste was good, I was disappointed by the portion and was still hungry after getting 5 “handrolls”
