The food was delicious, but there are three disappointing points.
1. When I opened the oshibori (wet towel), it was dirty inside.
2. I had reserved a counter seat, but was guided to a table instead. When I asked the staff about it, I was told something rather discriminatory, such as: “Since you are a foreign customer, there’s a possibility you cannot speak Japanese. We can’t speak English, so if you sit at the counter and try to talk to us, it would be a problem.” Furthermore, the staff explained: “We thought about calling you to confirm, but since there was a chance you only spoke English, we didn’t call.”
For clarification: I actually speak Japanese, and all of the above conversation with the staff took place in Japanese.
3. When I ordered wine, they brought three bottles but gave no explanation. They simply asked, “Which one would you like?” I felt this was insufficient.
At a bistro, I expect the staff to be knowledgeable about drinks. However, as ordinary customers, we cannot know without an explanation. For this price range, I felt it was strange not to receive any guidance.
I had high expectations, but it was disappointing that I was not satisfied with the service.
I am writing this review in English so that more people can read about my experience.
