"This simply-styled restaurant in the Eixample district of the city takes its name from the Japanese word for “divine wine”. It is run by two chefs who formed a close bond while working at Disfrutar (now a three-star Michelin restaurant) and went on to launch their own joint project that champions their "silent revolution”. Enric Buendia and Aristide Ribalta apply the techniques they have acquired in their quest for a creative approach that looks at Asian cooking (particularly Japanese) from a strong Mediterranean perspective. The end result is cuisine with surprising presentation with hints of fusion and a nod to Catalan gastronomy. Choose between two tasting menus: “Clásicos” (featuring its signature dishes); and the longer Kamikaze (creative and seasonal recipes). Among its enticing array of courses (served mainly in very small portions due to the number of included options), the “cap i pota salty crème caramel with squid ink” and the quirkily named “What is that sea urchin doing in my mochi?” stand out." - Michelin Inspector

Had a wonderful meal here whilst on holiday in Barcelona. Such a great experience and well worth the money spent. The food was delicious, full of flavour and creativity, each course was a surprise and a delight. Frederico, our waiter, made the everything more enjoyable by being so fantastic. This was more than a meal, it was like an immersive, food art experience! Thank you!

I went recently, and I am sorry for the harsh review but I was honestly incredibly disappointed. Every single dish was lacking in some way. I was very hopeful for this meal because of the good reviews and the well crafted images. However, from the chewy and paste- like residue left from the yolk starter to the jelly veil as the final plate, I simply cannot say I would recommend anyone to spend this much money in Kamikaze. As an additional note, I asked the waiter what inspired the name Kamikaze, the same name as the Japanese soldiers, I was told there was absolutely no relation to these soldiers. I found this very insensitive and disappointing. I hope to see improvements in the future but it will take a lot for me to voluntarily come back.

I really cannot follow those bad reviews I have seen here and which almost made me NOT book this place… or those guys with bad reviews don’t know about haute cuisine or they were starving… we tried the classic menu and will come back for the Kamikaze menu for sure. Go try it out!!

Are you looking for a culinary experience? Then this is a great place to - the food was delicious and the presentation spot on! The portions are rather small as distinct as they invite to try a range of different ones. The staff was engaging and friendly - thanks to the Kamikaze Team.

Service is lovely. The wait staff did a good job explaining the dishes. The only dish that is up to our expectation is the desserts, chocolate wasabi saves the experience.

Fantastic! We recently celebrated a company dinner here for 10 people. The 15 course menu with accompanying wines was excellent. The staff were very efficient and attentive to all our needs.

€65 tasting menu was a good value. Some dishes were a little weird. Two orange wines by the bottle only. Some natural wines.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my recent visit to Kamikaze in Barcelona was unfortunately the worst dining experience I’ve ever had at a Michelin-starred restaurant. From start to finish, nothing lived up to the standard one would expect from such an establishment. The service was ok and she try hard, but the food didn’t help her. The pacing of the meal was inconsistent, and the staff lacked the finesse and professionalism that a Michelin star promises. As for the food, every course fell short in flavor, execution, and presentation. The creativity felt forced rather than inspired, and not a single dish truly stood out. The balance and refinement you anticipate at this level simply weren’t there. Overall, the experience left us disappointed and questioning how this restaurant maintains its Michelin status. In a city like Barcelona, with so many incredible culinary options, this was sadly not one I could recommend. I wouldn’t recommend you waste your money here.
