"Ramen, soup and other Chinese foods are the soul of this ramen shop by Velrosier. The chef draws soup stock from bones of duck, chicken, venison and pork. Clear soup owes its depth to umami from a medley of dried foods; dried longan fruit, a Chinese medicinal herb, is a touch only a gourmet of Chinese cuisine would think of. The manifold layers of flavour derive from Roku’s ‘add-on’ approach to seasoning." - Michelin Inspector

Bib Gourmand Ramen Shop in Kyoto I tried both the Soy Sauce Truffle Ramen and Salt Yuzu Ramen at this Bib Gourmand ramen shop in Kyoto, and both were absolutely impressive. The soy sauce truffle ramen had a warm, deep, and elegant flavor rich and aromatic with a subtle truffle fragrance. The only thing I wished for was that the broth could have been served a little hotter, which would have made the experience even better and brought out the depth of the soy-based broth even more. The salt yuzu ramen was light and refreshing, with a clean citrus note that perfectly balanced the saltiness. The presentation was beautiful and refined, and the shop’s unique interior design adds a sophisticated Kyoto charm to the dining experience. Overall, it’s a ramen spot that combines elegance, flavor, and style definitely worth visiting while in Kyoto.

I was in heaven! The portion size of the ramen is HUGE! We stumbled upon this place and I can’t recommend it more now. It’s peaceful inside, beautiful decor, and our food came out quick and tasted amazing. I suggest getting the side order of the egg I should’ve even got two they were perfectly cooked. Wow wow wow!!

I don’t usually give such high praise to restaurants, however, this was easily the best ramen I’ve ever had. Each item we had was exceptional. From the small selection of Sake that each pair perfectly with the ramen, I chose the truffle ramen, to the soft and rich wontons that we were instructed to put in the broth of the ramen (absolutely delicious) , to the exquisite freshly fried egg custard sesame ball…. I can’t stop thinking about this food and experience , and I can’t wait to go back. My partner and I loved it so much that we’re considering coming here for our anniversary over another high end restaurant. For the price of our meals, there’s nothing that can beat this value for the exceptional quality and flavor of this meal. Upon entering, I could tell that every detail was carefully considered. The decor was beautiful , delicate, yet raw and minimal, the service was welcoming and attentive, the small peek into the kitchen was beautiful , and the light music playing was a beautiful playlist of light easy to listen to jazz. It was a high end carefully crafted experience at such an affordable and approachable price point. I can’t recommend it enough. ご馳走様でした。

It is my favorite noodle in Kyoto. The taste is so delicate and worth to eat. I love the richness of their soup. No wonder why they have been awarded Michelin Bib Gourmand. They deserve all the applause. I also love their simple but elegance atmosphere with the tree inside the restaurant. Thanks for making such a wonderful food.

This was definitely good, but I had higher expectations in light of the Klook reviews. When you arrive, you order on the screen and wait in line. We arrived at 7:45 pm and were not seated until 8:10 pm. To the restaurant’s credit, though, we received our food shortly after being seated. Each person is required to order RAMEN (not just something else). The restaurant is small. The ramen is good but again, not the best I’ve ever had. I would visit here again if needed.

Simple upscale Ramen. Open kitchen, counter seating. Order on the machine outside and come in and watch the magic happen. Truly delicious.

The food was so tasty and the waitress was lovely. We ordered the schezwan ramen though and it did not taste at all of schezwan. What it did taste like though, was the best spaghetti bolognese ever! So, if you like bolognese go for that one. Maybe they should serve it with Parmesan.

I don’t understand how this restaurant doesn’t have a 5.0 rating. It was absolutely perfect. The food was the richest umami noodles you could ask for, and the staff? Oh you haven’t seen nice staff until you meet the lady working here.
