This is the worst sushi restaurant I've experienced in over a decade in the US, and the first Japanese place where I couldn't even eat the sashimi. The raw fish was extremely unfresh with a slimy texture, dried-out appearance, and was simply disgusting to eat.

Google
Great sushi. And everyone there was super nice. Food came fast! Had the happy hour, buy one get one 1/2 off speciality rolls

Google
Very good sushi rolls🍣! Nice ambiance inside it was busy with patrons eating early dinner. Waitress was very friendly and helpful! Decent proportions and extremely flavorful sushi rolls!

Google
The Sushi Box is so good! My favorite is the slightly burnt flavor one on the right side! Never have dessert ice cream like this big plate. :D While I recommend to eat it when it gets a bit softer so it’s easier to feel the milky flavor. Nice service! They have a good team for each and every costumers, check if you need something every 5-10min. Big THANK YOU!!

Google
We loved the food. Price is really good for serving size. Had to wait a bit for the food so better order an appetizer. Service was really good. They make sure your drinks are filled. Will come back soon.

I went to Kamon Sushi in colima hacienda heights ca. the sushi is really good - I've tried a few different rolls and they're always fresh and flavorful. The prices are also super reasonable, which is a definite plus. On the other hand, the atmosphere is just really lacking. The decor is pretty but normal. The service is good , attentive waiter, always taking care we are good , everybody says bye when you leave etc. Overall, I'd say Kamon Sushi is a good option if you're in the area and craving sushi, but don't expect a fancy dining experience. It's solid, but not spectacular.

Google
Nice spot with plenty of parking. The sushi is a bit more expensive than average but they have a combination bento this is a pretty good deal for around $25. They forgot to bring out our main course but when the waitress checked on us to pay they realized the mistake and they quickly brought out the food. Overall good place.

Google
Kamon Sushi offers high quality seafood and service. We went on a weekend for lunch, there was no wait, and the food came out fast. It is pricey, but I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
Have been here a few times and the best thing here is the Kamon sushi. It's like omakase but u get everything all at once. I've tried some other dishes but it's just not as good without the garnishes on the sushi. They give every table a complimentary pumpkin soup to start, which is pretty good. The kamon sushi set comes with sweet shrimp and u can get the head fried or with miso soup. The spicy tuna is also pretty good. Plenty of parking in a big plaza and they have bar or table/booth seating. Servers were attentive and helpful. Worth checking out if you're in the mood for sushi!

Yelp
Met up with an old friend in Rowland Heights at Kamon Sushi. Located in a large shopping center on Colima Rd. Kamon Sushi serves a full menu of Japanese cuisine. The restaurant is busy but we were seated right away. We ordered the following items: Omakase nigiri 5 stars great assortment nicely presented in a wooden box Chawan mushi with uni and salmon roe 5 stars decadent great compliment Shrimp tempura 4 stars nicely batted small shrimps Grilled miso black cod 4.5 stars good taste tiny portion Agadashi tofu 4.5 stars nicely fried bland sauce Sashimi 5 stars nice assortment of fish served on ice Service was excellent. Plenty of parking in the large shopping center.

Yelp
Kamon Sushi is a local favorite for me in Rowland Heights! You are welcomed with a kabocha soup appetizer, which was smooth and mildly sweet. A nice touch that differs from other sushi spots! The sushi rolls here are definitely worth it--the amount of fresh salmon in each roll makes them a great value. They also have a huge variety of rolls to choose from, so there's something for everyone. A new menu item I tried was the Maki Bento, which is perfect for sharing if you're with a group. You can order up to 5 kinds, I tried 3. I have also tried the 3 Item Lunch Set, and it was way more food than I expected! The salmon roll alone was very filling, and pairing it with two other items (chicken teriyaki and mixed tempura) made it a great deal. Definitely shareable for 2 people. On top of the food, the service is excellent. The servers are attentive, always checking in and refilling waters. Overall, Kamon Sushi is a great spot for both variety and value--I'll definitely be coming back!

Yelp

Yelp
The service was attentive and pleasant. All the items we ordered were delicious and fresh. The interior is a bit smaller with fewer tables than expected, but we were happy we came when it wasn't too busy! We were also told that they have a day-long happy hour deal on their rolls at the time we went. I believe the happy hour is from Mondays to Thursdays. We were satisfied and will definitely return.

Yelp
Came here for a lunch date with my wife and daughter for the first time. My wife has been wanting to try their sushi for some time and finally got a chance. Their sushi selection is vast and their quality is great. We thoroughly enjoyed our sushi meal to the point that we may have ordered too much haha but we took what we did not finish home. Great sushi spot and look forward to coming back! Highly recommend checking out if you are in the area or craving sushi.

Yelp
Friendly staff, delicious food. The pumpkin soup is slightly sweet and thick. The kids meal is huge! It comes with California rolls, gyozas, shrimp tempura, chicken teriyaki and miso soup which is also nice. The Kamon sashimi came with a shrimp, they offered to put the shrimp head in a miso soup. I was not expecting that but still enjoyed the soup. All the sashimi were fresh and delicious! The chicken meat ball skewers were so tender and juicy, love it!

Yelp
If I could give this 10 stars I would!!! I have been here at least a dozen times and I have never had a bad experience. The customer service is always beyond incredible. The vibes are just so good! They always start you off with a kobucha soup. It's nice starters and refreshing. Depending on how I'm feeling I usually get an oyster shot. They have a happy hour special Monday through Thursday all day. Buy one roll get another roll 1/2 off! The Las Vegas roll is always a good choice. It's a spicy tuna roll with fried onions and a jalepeno slice on top. Omg I'm already dreaming of it! Also the fish is so freaking fresh, I'll get the Kamon Sashimi bowl without the rice. Pricey yes but so worth it. So much variety of fish as well as flavor. You also get a shrimp and they either ask if you want the shrimp in a miso soup or grill it.

Yelp
I went to try this sushi place for a birthday dinner and I have mixed reviews... The service was good, the parking was fine, but the food was iffy. The wagyu set was not the wagyu we thought of as it was not tender. We asked for medium, but it was TOUGH for a medium steak. This was unexpected and hard to get down. We contemplated asking to send it back but didn't want to be difficult. Would not recommend. Dragon roll and baked salmon were solid, I'm glad they didn't over sauce them. Maki bento - the fish we ordered were fresh. However the fatty tuna didn't look like fatty tuna as much as it does normal tuna. Agedashi tofu - the wrapper/fried layer was not good. It was oddly gummy like??? Would not recommend. The only highlight is that the tofu pieces were decently sized. Pumpkin Soup - nice complementary item but not my preference because it was a bit too sweet. Others in the group liked it a lot though! Note: They don't seat you until your party is fully there!

Yelp
Tried this place for the first time while out visiting Frank and Sons Collectible show with our friends! We were originally going to do Cheesecake Factory since one of our friends hasn't been but decided to save it for another time with a bigger group! This was listed on Yelp and had great reviews so we went for it! Definitely on the pricier side BUT the sushi quality is fantastic. First thing, the floor is very, very sticky and idk if it is their cleaning product but it is not good for a restaurant. Makes it feel really icky as soon as you walk in. We sat immediately thankfully before it got super busy! I love my Yellowtail so I had to get some of that, buttery soft goodness. My bf has been slowly trying more sushi and went for the blue fin tuna. We were a little worried since the color is so different and vibrant than what we are used to, also the pieces were big but thankfully he enjoyed them and said it was like butter and melted in his mouth! My friend got the poke bowl which was incredible huge for those wondering about portion size! They also gave us their seasonal sweet pumpkin soup to start off which made for a great dipping sauce for the fried chicken. One thing I want to say is that I was very excited for the Albacore with Garlic Butter. Tell me that doesn't sound absolutely amazing?!? Seared albacore sashimi wrapped in crispy onion and topped with chives, garlic butter, and ponzu dressing. Well, I was disappointed, very. I should've asked the waitress to give me a new one or something but it was very difficult to eat. The sashimi itself was good but the fried onions were so hard and stale, not crispy at all. Super disappointed with that, waste of money. Everything else tasted great! Not sure why that one was so bad. IG: @ammysalamii

Yelp
Great service and rolls. My husband and I always get spicy the tuna roll and spider roll (specialty roll). I believe for lunch the specialty rolls are buy one get one, however they can be a bit pricey at about $18. The rolls were very good along with their hot green tea. You are also given a little bowl of kombucha soup (delicious).

Yelp
Randomly found this spot while going to get boba at Gong-Cha. The sushi was sooooo good . The service was nice and it's a cozy spot. We kept ordering the tuna toro even tho it was like $20 for two because it just melts in your mouth.
google avatar

Yelp
Happy hour all day when I went on a Tuesday night with buy one get one 50% off special rolls! This was my first time at Kamon Sushi and I was really impressed. The service was stellar and each waiter was extremely polite. The dish was super fresh. The chirashi bowl literally looked like it came straight out of the ocean. The rolls were also decently sized. The asahi roll was very impressive with salmon, scallop, and spicy tuna. Not pictured are two small dishes: crispy rice with spicy tuna and baby fried octopus. Both of which were also delicious!
google avatar

Yelp
Want amazing and attentive service? Want clean and nice ambiance? Amazing food? They got it here. I decided to taste all their premium items today and it did not disappoint at all. This is a place I've been coming over the last 3-5 years and I will continue to come back!

Yelp
Really good for a strip mall sushi spot. Got the Tornado Shrimp and the Shrimp Tempura Roll. Great concept for the Tornado shrimp! Shrimp inside was juicy and flavorful while the crispy wonton gave the perfect amount of crunch. The roll was solid with fresh avocado. Nothing spectacular but a solid roll that tasted fresh. Would love to try more things when I'm in the area.
google avatar

Yelp
The sushi here is amazing! I love the fact that they do a BOGO 50% off deal. It really makes a huge difference in not having to worry about spending too much, and each tray of sushi is just the right amount. The servers are kind, but it gets difficult to call them when you get seated kind of far away. They keep this place clean and make the dining experience a good one!
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent service and the food is scrumptious. We had a large party and the waiters and waitresses were able to please everyone. No complaints at all.

Yelp
I went to have lunch about a month ago. Yvonne gave me a good feeling. The service attitude was very kind and professional, which made me have a very good lunch.
google avatar

Amber K.

Yelp
Food and service were good! Tried two different sushi rolls, takoyaki, and crispy rice with spicy tuna. There were tons of sushi rolls options, which was quite overwhelming. The two we picked have so many things going on, honestly tasted similar (not in a bad way though). We definitely did enjoy the takoyaki and crispy rice more!

Yelp
I have been coming here for many years and I have to say, this is one of my favorite places to eat. The quality and presentation of the food is consistently excellent and the service is always amazing. We are always greeted with their delicious butternut squash soup (the adults love it, my kids not so much). The sushi is always fresh and they offer combination meals that are delicious. My favorite is the salmon with tempura. I always recommend this place to everyone and will be coming back again soon.

Yelp
Fast take out service. My mom and I were in and out of here within 1/2hour upon arrival. A friend of ours referred us here, so we wanted to try their Lunch Specials. Love their huge salad portions and delish Tempura pieces and the side Miso Soup....if i'm in the mood for Japanese take out again, i'll be back. The portions were generous for Lunch Specials under $20. Parking was free and easy within plaza front. No hassle. Friendly service. Come on Over if you are into Japanese bentos.

Toby S.

Yelp
I really enjoyed the sushi here, the atmosphere, and the service was excellent. I'll definitely come back.

Yelp
Kamon Sushi is a great find. Quality sushi at a reasonable price. This is the second time I ordered the Kamon Sushi (that's the name of the menu item) which comes with 10 pcs and a blue crab hand roll. They give you a free pumpkin soup appetizer and you can get the sweet shrimp head as fried or in a soup. It's too bad the restaurant isn't closer to home but it's definitely worth the drive. The place is casual and can get busy even during a weekday lunch. Servers and sushi chefs are accommodating and friendly. I'll be back!
google avatar

Rung V. T.

Yelp
If you're looking for a sushi restaurant that checks all the boxes, this place is it! The service is impressively fast, perfect for those busy evenings or a quick lunch break. The fish is fresh. What makes it even better is the price--totally reasonable for the level of freshness and portion sizes offered. Whether you're a sushi connoisseur or just craving something light and delicious, this spot won't disappoint. I'll definitely be coming back!

Quinee K.

Yelp
Is our first time with my family and we got to the restaurant and friendly host and good waitress great service highly recommended. Sushi sashimi and many more variety. Delicious desert. we enjoy and we return. 11-01-2025 Sunday

Yelp
Cute sushi spot, convenient ample parking. Make sure you put your name down on the wait-list first as it's popular for dinner. Split four rolls with another person and was stuffed! The rolls come out fast as the chefs are like a sushi factory. There could have been a little more finesse as it appears the prized speed above all else.

Yelp
Exploring this area, I came across lunch special from this hidden gem, so I decided to give it a try. I found someone's post sharing about their yummy sashimi at on bento box so I did try decided to give it a try. It was bomb, it was a big piece of fish and fresh to my liking. Fiancé suggested trying the sea urchin on steamed egg, and oh my, fish and sea urchin goes together with steam deck and mushroom in the bottom so well. It's about $16 for this small little bowl, but I definitely recommend it because it's unique and good ingredients. I like the reasonable pricing for lunch, special, including weekend. Definitely recommend it if you're in the area!
google avatar

Jeremy S.

Yelp
My family and I ordered lunch bentos: the Kamon lunch special ($16.50), salmon teriyaki with six pieces of sashimi ($21.50), and chicken thigh teriyaki with takoyaki ($17.50). The lunch special came with chicken teriyaki and California rolls. Some fresh roll or sushi options get charged extra. The food arrived in big trays with generous servings of meat. Each meal came with squash soup, miso soup, salad, and three small side dishes. The food arrived quickly (about 15 minutes). The squash soup arrived before we ordered, and it had a nice warm and sweet flavor. The takoyaki tasted great with just the right internal temperature. The chicken teriyaki tasted as expected, but I liked how the portion made me feel full. Service here was great, and the restaurant looked clean and felt quiet. Overall, I'd recommend this restaurant for solid Japanese food at a competitive price.

Yelp
So far, my experience with this restaurant has been pleasant. Sushi is pretty good, and I would recommend coming during happy hour because of the discounts.

Yelp
I love the food here I always order their salmon sushi and their bay scallop it's so good! They also have the bento box as well for lunch and dinner ! One thing I recently ordered was the salmon skin salad that was amazing will be coming back for more! Parking was not too bad plenty of parking in the lot and lots of things to do and walk around there. It's in the in n out plaza and they have good coffee bun place next door for amazing dessert., I will be coming back for more!
google avatar

Daphne D.

Yelp
This place was busy, with people lining up right before it opened. Luckily, there was plenty of seating inside, and we were seated quickly. The food was fresh and delicious. I ordered the Bento 2 choices and swapped the white rice for extra salad, which they were happy to accommodate. The salmon was perfectly tender, and the black pork cutlet was crispy and flavorful. The side dishes--fruit, radish, pickled radish, and mashed potatoes--were all tasty as well. My friend had the maki bento, and I had a few pieces--it was bite-sized and packed with flavor. Even though I ate quite a bit, I didn't feel overly full or bloated afterward. Highly recommend this spot!

Yelp
I've been coming here for a couple of years, and I think that it's a solid place in hacienda heights. Mainly due to inflation prices has gone up as a result which you'll see later on. It sits in a cozy, relatively busy plaza. Upon entering, its more akin to quiet Japanese restaurant as opposed to typical American sushi places. Lots of Asians, adult and elders go on weekends. Food we ordered: Bento combination (2 items): hands down the most bang for your buck option on the menu. We normally order the mixed tempura and sashimi. Because of inflation, in order to get sashimi, you need to pay an extra $4, from extra $2 more. It used to not have that. I think the tuna is the most obvious frozen fish of the 3 presented. Salmon and yellowtail is solid imo. Mixed tempura is a solid option as it's well fried without too much tempura batter and the oil used is fresh and clean. The servers have gone through a couple of iterations from what I've seen;however, I believe that the standard of service hasn't changed. A solid employee of customer service is the male floor manager, I assume. I have seen him for years though I haven't asked for his name 3.8/5 stars

Isaac C.

Yelp
GREATEST japanese food EVER!!! It tastes super good. The service was great. When we came in they came quickly. They were nice and let us combine another table because our table was small. I ordered a bento with takoyaki, salmon teriyaki, and black pork katsu. All of it was AMAZING. We are definitely coming back.
google avatar

Svetlana S.

Yelp
So their more premium sushi dishes are definitely nice and worth paying more for. The rolls were pretty average, however, though I would not get those again. The service was quite nice, we had a big party, and they allowed us to bring our own bubbly for celebration (with a steep $35 corkage fee!). I will be back around lunch time to enjoy some of the nicer fish cuts.
google avatar

Ryan C.

Yelp
I've been coming here for years and every time has been just as amazing. Luckily we didn't have to wait that long at all this time around. I'm not sure how new the maki bento set is but I'm glad that I ordered it to settle my sushi craving . We also ordered veggie tempura that did noticeably come out later than usual, but that didn't really matter due to how freshly fried and delicious it was. The servers were also incredibly helpful and attentive especially since they came around enough to ensure our hot tea cups were never empty. I'll keep coming here for as long as possible
google avatar

TY S.

Yelp
I usually come here whenever I'm craving sushi bc it's close by and always hits the spot. The fish quality is pretty good and everything is reasonably priced! They have a promotion for buy 1 get 50% off specialty rolls from monday to thursdays so def try to go during the weekdays to take advantage of the deal. My fav thing to get here is the zen roll which I order almost every time I eat here. I also love the kabocha soup they give you in the beginning. The food comes out very fast here too even when it gets a little busy.
google avatar

Allen C.

Yelp
Came to break bread w/ friends and share a sushi/Japanese dining meal. Was hoping for higher quality fish/cuts and was generally disappointed. The pork cutlet/katsu was dried and dense, but the curry was decent. For the udon/soup, very standard and light/flavorful broth. The sushi itself was generally disappointing - the rolls were very expensive, covered and doused in heavy sauces, and fell apart with minimal manipulation. For an area with such high competition for Japanese/Asian food, it was a bit disappointing since you think it'd be more demanding. Parking is plentiful in the strip mall adjacent lot. Servers were a bit inattentive and sparce, had to request water refills multiple times on our own.
google avatar

David M.

Yelp
Kamon Sushi has reasonable prices and the quality of sushi is good. I've been in the seafood industry for over 25 years and know good and bad seafood when I see/taste it. This place is definitely offers good quality for value. It's not a fancy place however it's clean, comfortable and the staff was really attentive to our needs. The sushi chefs were keen on the sashimi and sushi presentation and were very friendly as well.
google avatar

Anna C.

Yelp
Came here 7:30PM on Thursday and we were able to get seated immediately. For parking, the plaza was pretty busy around dinnertime. The space indoors was quite large and didn't feel cramped as the different parties were spread out. The waiter let us know there was a happy hour--buy 1 roll get one 50% off. We ordered 6 rolls for three people, and they have a variety of rolls on the menu. They also have an appetizer of pumpkin soup at the beginning of your meal. Very satisfying dinner! Service was attentive and our waiter was nice.

Kelvin K.

Yelp
BINGO! I went to Kamon Sushi several times by myself and other time with friends. FOOD was so yummy, clean & very high quality. SERVICE was so welcome & fast. Kamon is so GREAT restaurant I ever had. I highly recommend for you guys to try on!!! 10/10

Yelp
First time trying this restaurant, we came to celebrate a birthday and a wedding anniversary. Special occasions :) We came on a Saturday evening right before the dinner rush. The parking lot can get full really fast as the plaza shares so many amazing restaurants and markets. We waited for about 5 minutes while the wait staff gets our table ready. We were given menus and were served asap. The meal started with pumpkin soup/puree. It was good but it was very thick. My little babies enjoyed them. They happened to have ran out of grilled salmon that night, so I had the 2 meal combo with fried tai fish with karaage. The fish was cooked nicely, I loved the crispy coating and juicy meat inside. The karaage was okay, the sauce was a bit lime-y/sour-y but it works I guess? The meal came with rice, side dishes, miso soup, salad, and fruits. We also tried the katsu Don and it was pretty good too, good taste and portion! Overall the dining experience was good, the place is a bit cramped if you're going with a large group and babies, but we made it work. Everyone had their food quickly and I would say that it was a pleasant experience.

Yelp
Best sushi restaurant I've ever been.. all fresh, delicious and service was great! We loved it so much! Definitely will come back! Can't wait for our next visit!

Yelp
Not a bad place at all for your casual sushi journeyman. Ordered the Kamon Lover- spicy tuna roll was on point, sashimi was fresh, chilled green tea was good. And if you like Monk Fish liver (Ankimo), that is good too. Pet peeves- server offering but not knowing that they were out of stock of grapefruit soju, not having the sense to let us enjoy our food constant and unnecessary questions, and premium wasabi was not fresh. Dessert selection was lackluster. Could be a 4 star establishment with improvements.
google avatar

David G.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite sushi restaurants!! The fish here is so fresh and the rolls are delicious I love eating here with my family! I also came here for my anniversary and got the sashimi which was YUMMY!!! Thanks Kamon Sushi!

Michael A.

Yelp
I ordered a crunch spider roll. the roll received had very little soft shell crab and lots of fake crab. avoid!

Yelp
Pleasant surprise for us Everything was fresh, crisp, cold as expected Worth the price, decent portions for sashimi and sushi. Rolls were equally well made Give it a try

Yelp
Been dining at Kamon sushi for quite some time, and I've always been a fan. We visited on a Saturday evening, and there was a short waiting list around 7pm. Parking is free in a busy plaza. Ambiance: Well-lit, pleasant, not loud, clean, good for date nights, family/friends get-together. Food: I got the 3 item dinner bento combination. I picked the salmon teriyaki, Philadelphia roll (additional $1), and mixed tempura. It includes rice, miso soup, salad, orange slice, and a couple of grapes for dessert ($25.50). My friend got the rice crispy with spicy tuna ($15.50), spicy tuna and avocado roll ($17.50), and a bottle of hot sake ($9.50). Everything's fresh and tasted great! Good portion size. Food was delivered fast; however, our server took a while to pick up our empty plates. Nonetheless, I love their food and highly recommended.

Yelp
Enjoyed this place. Sushi was good (tho the albacore roll We had tasted a little off? But maybe it's because we were already full of sushi?)

Yelp
I want to add this 5 star review because I feel the negative reviews don't do it justice. This place right here is one of the best sushi restaurants in Rowland Heights and some of the immediate area. Great value with the bento boxes and always kind and professional service by the staff here. The interior is clean and spacious, but I also enjoy bringing the food to go more often than not. Worth a visit!
