I ordered the Chicken rice and curry and it was delicious. It comes with a generous portion of rice, beet, beans, and Sri Lankan dhaal curries. It also came with fried papadam. I also ordered some fish rolls, and fish patties which were also large size and made fresh. I highly recommend checking out the restaurant if you are craving Sri Lankan food. There is also ample parking outside the business. Do check then out.

The food was excellent and had an authentic Sri Lankan taste. All the dishes came in large portions at a reasonable price, and most of all, the owner was very friendly and welcoming. It truly felt like being back in Sri Lanka.

My coworker and I had our 10am lunch break here. The food was delicious and the service was outstanding. She gave me ginger tea and fries for my partner, and she went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable and well taken care of. I’m looking forward to returning and trying something different.

The food was absolutely phenomenal—every dish was bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. The service was outstanding; Renuka is outstanding attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly. We were impressed by how fresh and high-quality the ingredients were. You can truly taste the care that goes into every meal. The menu has a wonderful variety, offering something delicious for everyone, including great vegetarian options. It’s clear that the team is passionate about what they do. This restaurant is a real gem—I can’t wait to come back!

Google
А buffet that’s anything but basic—Sri Lankan spices, curries, and hoppers galore. I loaded my plate with dhal, spicy fish curry, and got addicted instantly. The layout is cafeteria style, but the flavors are robust and bold. No glitz, just honest food that tells you where it came from. I ate until I rolled, happy and curious

Yelp
Kandy Kaffe, stands as a bold testament, to a unique cuisine that hails from the stunning tropical island of Sri Lanka. Think about it. A population of only around 22 million. Yet, a food and culture that is centuries old, so unique, different, yet tasty, spicy and unforgettable. It is immersed in the history and culture of its people. LA and NY are the only cities with several Sri Lankan restaurants. It is still not enough, because our city food writers, in the major publications totally ignore to highlight or even praise Sri Lankan food. Why is this cuisine not on the top 101 LA Restaurants list? When I come to Kandy Kaffe, I try to set up my schedule to be at their Saturday Buffet. I am not a big eater. But I like buffets for one reason. For me, they are like self serving tasting menus. That is the crux. This restaurant has a large selection of Sri Lankan favorites and staples. Freshly prepared to order Egg hoppers are dynamite. String Hoppers and curries take you to another place. Numerous meat and vegetable selections. Service here, as always, is caring, friendly and nothing short of excellent.

Yelp
Kandy Kaffe is totally worth the drive from Santa Barbara! I've tried a bunch of Sri Lankan restaurants--some are good, but a lot of them end up serving Indian dishes like butter chicken and mango lassi, probably just to draw in more customers who are already familiar with Indian food. I get why they do it, but it makes it tough to find places that really stick to those classic Sri Lankan flavors. Just so you know, I actually cook Sri Lankan food myself and know exactly what it's supposed to taste like--so trust me when I say Kandy Kaffe gets it right. We grabbed their Rolls, Cutlets, and Patties for the road (such a great idea, they're perfect for snacking later), and while we were there, we dug into the chicken Kottu and beef Kottu. Kottu Roti is truly unique to Sri Lanka--it's a street food where they chop up flatbread on a hot griddle and toss it together with veggies, eggs, your choice of meat, and Sri Lankan spices. The sound of it being chopped up is honestly part of the Sri Lankan experience, and you just can't get that flavor anywhere else. One cool thing is they can make it as spicy or as mild as you like--my wife can't handle too much spice, but even the mild version was super tasty and full of flavor. On top of all that, the people running the place are really friendly and deserve way more recognition. Don't forget to finish your meal with their wattalappam (a coconut flan-like dessert made with jaggery)--it's the perfect sweet ending. If you're looking for real Sri Lankan food, you've got to check this spot out!

Yelp
The food was amazing. Food was excellent. Service was stellar! I would go back! The waiter was so helpful and recommended the kottu roti which I absolutely adored. It was my first time having that.

Yelp
Was recommended by my daughter so myself and wife decided to go for some lunch today. Found out that every Saturday it has a buffet that starts at 12:30 pm till dinner time. Great Sri Lankan food for a very reasonable price. Spoke with the owner and wife and they are very friendly with a great smile as well. We are recommending this place if you love eating Sri Lankan food.

Yelp
The first time I came in was for their Saturday lunch buffet. There was a variety of curries, rice, and fresh roti. We were also served freshly made egg roti which was delicious. The curries and rice were very tasty. I really enjoyed it. The second time I came for lunch was for the kottu rotti which blew my tastebuds away. It was spicy, flavorful, and freshly prepared. The owners are very kind and welcoming. I'll be definitely coming back for many more future lunches.

Yelp
I came here for lunch, the place looks clean and they have pizza, burgers and other American food but they also have other Sri Lancan dishes. I order the Beef kottu roti and falooda. The service was great and very nice service. They have small plate/snacks like empanadas but they are Sri Lancan snacks/small plates. They also sale Watalappam, it's like a dessert it's sooo good. Kind of like flan taste but different texture.

Yelp
100% worth the drive from Los Angeles. Amazing authentic food and friendly service. We got the chicken kottu roti and egg hoppers! The perfect amount of spice and my kids loved the egg hoppers! The restaurant was very clean and the AC helped us beat theWe will definitely be coming back!

Yelp
My second time to this Sri Lankan gem! I ordered the chicken Kottu Roti. Absolutely delicious! The portion is large enough to share or as I'm planning on, 2 meals. If you've never tried Sri Lankan food and like south Asian cuisine, give this place a try:)

Yelp
A cute new restaurant to try Sri Lanka meals. I recommend the Falooda , it's so good . The people there are so nice so even if you don't know what the food is they are happy to explain it to you.

Osandha D.

Yelp
Hospitality was off the charts, the restaurant is clean, and the pizza was fire. It's a quant Sri Lankan joint without being overwhelming for someone who's not from there.

Yelp
Very friendly staff and a welcoming atmosphere. We had tea, egg kottu, watalappan, vege roti and tea buns. All were great! The egg kottu was one of the best we had for a long time. Watalapan had authentic Sri Lankan taste and we loved it! We'll visit this place every time we come to LA.

Yelp
This is small cozy place with great food. Love the string hoppers and the meal. The sambals with the hopper meal is really good.

Yelp
Excellent restaurant come bring the family and friends! Enjoy watching the game! And Sri Lanka food is the best on the west side! Customer service from Gunathilika is superb!

Uziel G.

Yelp
I went to this small restaurant and it was delicious. The owner was helpful in explaining the menu and ensuring I chose something that i would enjoy. He was also mindful of accommodating the spicy level. Overall I recommend it and will be returning!

Yelp
My girlfriend and I came here for breakfast which was the wrong decision. We ended up waiting for an hour for just 2 sandwiches and some pancakes. We were going to leave but she told us it was only going to be 15 more minutes which turned into about 35. However once we finally did get our food it was really good. Won't be coming back strictly because of the wait time.

Upul G.

Yelp
Had buffet on a Saturday. Great Sri Lankan style noodles. Chicken Curry and egg hoppers. Toped with hot milk tea.

Justin O.

Yelp
The chicken kottu was definitely two meals. They've got a lot of food options, but the Sri Lankan is worth a try if you're a foodie.

Gayan P.
