The Best Restaurants in Cedar Park - Austin - The Infatuation

"Mood lighting, polished wooden walls, high ceilings, and bamboo-partitioned tables with floor-cushion seating all contribute to the chic vibe of Kane. This Japanese spot is perfect for spendy dates starring fish. Kane is a reservations-only spot, so last-minute hangouts won’t work here. But an anniversary dinner or an evening out with visitors? That’s where this place shines. Omakase service happens at a long counter at the front of the restaurant—$150 gets you a 12-course tasting, while the $250 kaiseki menu features more courses and fancier ingredients. Kane allows you to order a la carte items like aji sashimi, uni nigiri, A5 wagyu beef, and salmon, but if you have the budget and the time, the omakase is the best overall experience." - taylor tobin, nicolai mccrary

Good food, high quality. Rolls are really large so if that’s your thing then you’re in for it. I prefer to stick with nigiri. Best shrimp tempura in Austin and would like to see them expand their tempura offering/options. Step in booths are a pain in the ass.

Food was amazing. The Toro roll with caviar was a bit soft and fell apart and could use a bit more structure but it was amazing nonetheless. Really loved that they played jazz. Highly recommend for a special occasion. The sushi is hard to beat

I love the customer service and the atmosphere! If you sit at the chef's table, it's like getting omakase service! The head chef is so nice and friendly. All the sushi comes out nice and fresh, and really quick. I almost wish they took their time a bit, so we could just sit there and enjoy ourselves. With that all said, i noticed a couple of things. Sushi is supposed to be bite-sized, but here you kind of get huge bites, sometimes a bit on the sloppy side. So if you are paying a high price for sushi quality, you kind of expect a bit better execution? Believe me, I'm not complaining about the portions here. We got a couple of rolls and hand rolls, and the chef was a bit heavy-handed with the sauces. I kind of almost felt sick with food heaviness, which I usually don't get from having sushi. The chicken karage was good. The nigiri sushi that we tried were all fresh and yummy, you can't go wrong here with fresh tuna or salmon. Overall, the service, sushi, atmosphere, and chef's are all great, the prices are a bit high though. The execution probably needs to slow down a bit so that it feels like you are getting the high-end quality food & experience so that folks can take their time to sit and enjoy the food. I know, some other sushi places take forever, so it's kind of a dumb observation I'm making. However, with all that said, i would definitely recommend giving this place a try.

It was our first time visiting Kane, and we were blown away! We tried a little bit of everything—edamame, fried chicken, the Big Toro Roll (an absolute must-try), ramen, the KT Special, and the matcha tiramisu for dessert. Every dish was exceptional, beautifully prepared, and you could tell it was made with love. The flavors were spot on, and the quality of the ingredients really stood out. The Big Toro Roll, in particular, stole the show—it’s worth visiting Kane for that alone. The matcha tiramisu was a perfect way to end the meal, light yet full of flavor. The ambiance and attention to detail made the experience even better. We can’t wait to go back and explore more of their menu!

The staff’s service and the atmosphere of the restaurant were excellent. However, I think I had too high expectations for the food. The taste of the food wasn’t the best, but it wasn’t bad either. The Hamachi Kama had a strong fishy smell and was under-seasoned, making it taste bland. The Sushi, all of sushi toppings were mostly decorated with fish roe, so it was hard to fully enjoy the flavor of the fish itself. The sushi rice was bland and cold (I visited right when they opened). The fried chicken was average. The Uni pasta was overly salty, and the noodles were cold and slightly undercooked. Although it was served mixed with the sauce, the noodles still felt cold and underdone. The Negitoro hand roll was truly delicious. This is something I’d recommend! They use powdered wasabi(wish to have little high quality wasabi) and it’s not provided automatically—you seem to need to request it. Overall, it’s worth visiting at least once.

My wife and I come here every month for their Omakase and we're never disappointed. Not only do they use very high quality fish (much of it imported from Toyosu in Tokyo) but chef Kane has a way with flavors and is always cooking up new and delicious additions to his Omakase course. We've had sushi from all over including Michelin star restaurants in Tokyo and Beverly Hills and Kane is up there with the best of them and at a price that is very reasonable for the quality. As if that wasn't enough the ambiance and service are both fantastic. The vibe definitely reminds us of sushi restaurants in Japan, and Lisa (chef Kane's wife) is always attentive and even provides cultural and culinary context to the various dishes they serve. I can't recommend Kane enough!

I’m always looking for fantastic sushi and this place has it! I came because I was really intrigued about the uni pasta, and I wasn’t disappointed. Creamy and sweet with that ocean flavor from the uni. Also the dinnerware here is so beautiful.

One of my favorite sushi places in the suburbs of Austin. We've been here several times and the quality of fish, other ingredients and the service are just impeccable. I highly recommend making a reservation in advance as this place is popular.
