The Best Restaurants in Cedar Park - Austin - The Infatuation

"Mood lighting, polished wooden walls, high ceilings, and bamboo-partitioned tables with floor-cushion seating all contribute to the chic vibe of Kane. This Japanese spot is perfect for spendy dates starring fish. Kane is a reservations-only spot, so last-minute hangouts won’t work here. But an anniversary dinner or an evening out with visitors? That’s where this place shines. Omakase service happens at a long counter at the front of the restaurant—$150 gets you a 12-course tasting, while the $250 kaiseki menu features more courses and fancier ingredients. Kane allows you to order a la carte items like aji sashimi, uni nigiri, A5 wagyu beef, and salmon, but if you have the budget and the time, the omakase is the best overall experience." - taylor tobin, nicolai mccrary

We love this place. This restaurant is the best sushi place in Austin area. The food is always good, and the service is the best!! Thy recently added dry-aged sushi menu, and I love it! I've done both omakase and a la carte at this place. Both were really good.

Husband and I came here for our wedding anniversary and it was delicious! From the outside, it’s so inconspicuous but once you’re inside, it’s a whole different atmosphere. The space is cozy and seating is very comfortable, with plenty of space between tables. We got sat at the bar and it was like having dinner with entertainment. Sushi was extremely fresh and made right in front of you. Service is fast and the staff is attentive to your every need. Definitely an experience worth having!!

After visiting this place, it definitely became my favorite sushi place in Austin! 🍣 Everything from start to finish was perfect (ambiance, hot towels, service). The food was phenomenal, the fish is really fresh, and the flavors are delicious. I can't wait to come back!

Me and my husband came here for our anniversary, I booked a reservation like 3-2 days in advance a reservation is required since space is limited. We were greeted with a warm welcome, I had requested a booth but since tables and space is limited they use the booths for 4 people or more since the booths are pretty spacious. We were sat a table next to the bar we also received some warm/hot towels for our hands which I thought was nice, I loved the seating watching the chefs put plates together and working it was a really nice experience. We got some shrimp tempura as an appetizer but we got our Makimono and K.T. Special before our appetizer which was fine cause we were hungry, the lion king Makimono was absolutely delicious wow nothing like I’ve ever tasted; the K.T. Special was good just not what I expected it was kind of hard for us to pick with chopsticks but we managed. Me and my husband decided to try some Nigiri/sashimi we got the king salmon it was our first time trying this type of sushi and we loved it! Everything paired well with our sake, our waiter was super nice and helpful we had a really good time/anniversary dinner. Thank you all for all your hard work, we will definitely be back to bring some friends cause we were telling them about it and they were intrigued to also try it. This place is definitely good for a date or anniversary like I mentioned this place is pretty small, so don’t really recommend for parties of 6 or more maybe not even 6 but would definitely call them to double check.

This place is absolutely charming and feels very authentic from the moment you walk in. They offer traditional Japanese-style seating booths as well as stand-alone tables, so you can choose whichever experience you prefer. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, making it a great spot whether you’re out with friends or on a casual date. The food was phenomenal. The aburi is a definite must-try — so good that after tasting the Butterfish, we immediately ordered the Salmon as well, and both were outstanding. Another highlight was the Volcano 26 roll, which was packed with flavor and beautifully prepared. And you can finish off with layer cake. What really stood out is that for the quality and presentation, the prices are very reasonable — truly great value for money. Overall, if you’re in the neighborhood, this is a spot you should not miss. You’ll leave satisfied and probably planning your next visit!

We looked at a few places on google maps before deciding on Kane but it was a solid choice. There’s one door and the lobby is small but you are promptly greeted by the host. Our party of 5 was sat at a tucked away quiet booth in the corner with plenty of room. Water was immediately served without asking, love that. Drink orders were taken shortly after. My kids were new to Japanese cuisine so we took more time to order but the staff was patient and kind, helping us find options. Kids had the ramen and my wife had Wagyu fried rice (pictured). We also got 2 rolls. California roll was phenomenal, mix of crab and avocado and the rice was perfect. The other roll had salmon, cream cheese, and topped with masago and yellowfin. The texture and flavor was amazing. The ramen was good, pork bone broth, good noodle thickness, mushrooms, onions, chashu, and soft boiled egg. The broth was missing something, perhaps a little oil or salt, but still good. Wagyu fried rice was a little expensive for what you get, not much Wagyu, but incredible flavoring. Good mix with egg, soy sauce, and these green onion ribbons as garnish. Service was attentive and food arrived fast. We will be back for more rolls!

We went for our anniversary dinner and they made us feel absolutely welcomed there. We brought out 10 month old and we were a bit worried that higher end places discouraging bringing babies but Kane was the total opposite. They were so accommodating and made sure that our baby was comfortable while also serving us omakase style at our table when it is traditionally at the bar. The head chef and owner Kane was absolutely delightful. He kept interacting with our son and entertained him the whole time while still serving up high quality sushi. We were beyond satisfied. You HAVE to try the matcha tiramisu. It is by far one of the best desserts I have ever tried hands down. The quality of the dessert should have made it a $15+ dessert but at Kane it was half that. You can’t get any better than this. We highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a quality time

We loved this place! Everything was super fresh and delicious. The place is simple but very charming. The staff was really friendly and welcoming. Definitely a spot we’d come back to!
