Delicious! We had steak and a chicken pasta with mushrooms accompanied with local beer and red wine. So great - thank you one of the best meals we’ve had so far in Greece Very forgiving of two Australians still learning Greek

Mushroom inspired dishes. Everything that we tried was super tasty. We particularly loved the mushroom risotto and chicken with pasta and mushrooms. The chanterelle dessert and cheesecake were amazing too

Kanella & Garyfallo is an extraordinary restaurant with amazing people and food. It is more than obvious that they love what they do. Very friendly, very helpful , very very polite and food is sooooo delicious. I am almost sure that I had the most delicious mushrooms (risotto, grilled mushrooms, soul). We also had the osombuko which was also wonderful. For desert we had the peach and the cheesecake. Cheesecake was among one of the best we ever had for sure. Moreover, they have very good wine list with lot of great option. In overall, we had great experience and totally deserved our time and money. Any visitor must pay a visit to this restaurant and experience the food

A great place to eat when in Zagori. It's better to book in advance as it usually gets full. Loved the aesthetic, it was very cute and cozy. The staff was very polite and helpful. Very nice menu selections and also interesting day specials. Almost all dishes have mushrooms as ingredients. Everything we had was very tasty. Prices were also very reasonable for the quality offered. My only issue was that the main dishes took almost an hour to be served, and that's quite a lot. But great place overall!

Magnificent, a truly brilliant effort from the people who run the place. It is amazing the fact that they have taken a risk of making a more complicated cuisine based upon mushrooms. People owe to support places as such. Highly recommended and will definitely visit again a soon as we are in the area. People should be inspired by this effort and push the boundaries of culinary experience.

TLDR: Lives up to the hype! We weren’t sure if the restaurant could live up to all the hype but Kanela more than delivered. The staff were professional and polite, the location is stunning, and their decor and table arrangements make you feel welcome immediately (added bonus, very cool in the shade and we were comfortable despite it being a hot day). The food was delicious - a special call-out to the mushroom risotto. The caramelized mushroom dessert with yoghurt semifreddo was also a highlight. Every dish was full of unique flavours you won’t find elsewhere. Was it more expensive than other options in Vitsa? yes, but you do not go to a restaurant like this one and expect the same food you can find in any tavern. The prices felt more than fair for the unique and delicious flavours and atmosphere provided. A final note: I’m not sure how to account for some of the negative reviews, only to say that this is why I always look at overall scores and not individual negative experiences. It would have been a true shame to miss out on such a beautiful meal! Thank you to the staff and kitchen for giving us a night to remember :)

I recently dined at this remarkable restaurant that celebrates mushrooms in all their glory. The ambiance was warm and inviting, with earthy décor that set the perfect tone. The menu showcased a stunning variety of mushroom-based dishes, each one a masterpiece. From the savory appetizers to the indulgent main courses, every bite was a delightful exploration of flavors and texture. The service was top-notch. The knowledgeable and passionate staff provided excellent recommendations and made the experience even more enjoyable with their attentiveness and warmth. This restaurant is a haven for mushroom lovers and food enthusiasts alike. The exquisite food, impeccable service, and inviting ambiance make it a must-visit. I can't wait to return and explore more of their delectable offerings.

We had just over two weeks touring Greece and the meal we had here was the best we ate all the way round, by far. The service was polite, helpful, efficient and punctual, without being intrusive. The location is beautiful (we were fortunate in getting the terrace corner-table in the sunshine) and - despite being next to the road, really peaceful. There was little passing traffic. We had the baked feta with tomatoes (etc) and the metsovone (plus bread and goodies) to start, with stuffed portobello and the unbelievably good truffle pate. It was all to-die-for. Even some local craft beer and decent wine. Truly a unique experience.
