Really decadent, gourmet donuts conveniently located on the side of Route 1. I'd always driven by this place and wondered whether it was any good. A few months ago, I finally stopped in to pick up some donuts as a thank-you gift. I got a box with some of the creme brulee, maple bacon, Boston cream, and honey dip. The creme brulee was everything I wanted it to be. Hard, crunchy, burnt-sugar top, filled with a rich custard inside. The Boston cream was also pretty good as well with an impressive chocolate glaze on top that actually tasted like chocolate. The maple bacon was probably my favorite, striking a nice balance between salty and sweet. The honey dip was light with just the right amount of glaze. Basically everything you want a yeasted donut to be.
The filled donuts are a bit of a gut bomb, but they're good for sharing, and the range of flavors they offer is really nice. The donuts themselves could have been a little fresher, but I think this may have been a symptom of the pandemic more than anything else, since I'm sure their turnover is higher when they have a greater customer volume. I know how short of a shelf life donuts have, and as I came in the afternoon, I'm sure the donuts suffered as a result.
The location itself looks new, bright, and clean. There weren't a lot of people here thanks to the pandemic, but the workers were friendly and helpful. There is seating both inside and outside and abundant parking around the store. I definitely want to come back to try more of their donuts next time I'm in the area.
