Kani House - Johns Creek

Had a great surprise birthday party for my husband here. Much less crowded than the Kani House at other locations and the service was much better too. We had our own room/space so it was intimate and memorable. Our cook was Richard and our server Karin. Richard was entertaining, funny, and made sure everyone felt included. Karin was very courteous and attentive. The food was delicious! 100% recommend this location!

For $17 you can get a bento box that has so much food! It has a whole roll of California roll, veggies, edamame, rice, chicken katsu, tempura shrimp and veggies, soup, salad, and ice cream. A really good deal and the food is good too. Service was good too.

Been coming to this wonderful place for a decade now and have never had another hibachi spot that's closer to my heart. Kheo is one of our absolute favorite chefs here! He always has a great energy, his food is always top notch, timing effective, and he makes the best steak in town. Love the staff and how welcoming everyone is, even if we aren't always in a big group or just a couple of people. We are always so happy to visit, and always very well taken care of. Thank you, Kani House! You are awesome and irreplaceable.

KANI HOUSE! I went here for my birthday with my family and was pleasantly surprised! We had hibachi, and our chef was Christian and he is the GOAT. He chatted with us and he was very funny. I had a great time! The food was pretty good and I enjoyed it. GO TO KANI HOUSE IF YOU ARE IN THE MOOD FOR HIBACHI, FUN, AND A GOOD TIME!!

Sushi and sashimi are definitely not their best offer. The fish was smelly and not fresh. I almost wanted to vomit after eating. There was absolutely no joys of eating. I have had diarrhea for 2 days. I will never go back for sushi and sashimi again.

Great hibachi here! Our chef, Jordan, was very kind, friendly, and a master at his craft. We came for lunch, and the prices were definitely very reasonable for the hibachi and for lunch specials. The chicken, scallop, veggies, and fried rice were all really delicious and cooked to perfection. This is an amazing place for some quality hibachi!

We enjoyed food and hibachi chefs presentation, five star for them. But quality of waiters service is low and not acceptable for place like this. Even simple staff like taking dirty dishes and water refill you have to look for waiters. I am not high maintenance person, but want to say that automatic 20% tip charge make servants relaxed and not providing good service. We hope next time it will be better.

Yesterday we went to celebrate my daughter’s 17th birthday and it was very disappointing the chef was amazing he did a great job but the lady who supposed to sing a birthday song seems to be in a rush she just came, sing for a min and just left with all the props without even serving our own cake that we asked them to serve neither she was bothered to show a courtesy to ask if we wanna take a pic with that Japanese umbrella, she just ruined our whole experience, we came last year on a weekend it was so amazing n thought to repeat again this year but it was very disappointing we just asked her to give us back our cake and then we celebrated at home. Food was good n chef was very humble!

Kani House is an amazing spot for Hibachi and Sushi. Every time I enter the Johns Creek location I am always welcome with a warm greeting and multiple smiles. Reservations are recommended if you are wanting to sit and watch the hibachi being made, but they are not always required. I tend to sit at a table on any normal night. However, when I have family and friends visiting, Hibachi reservations are always the vibe. The location can get quite busy. They offer indoor hibachi, booth, and bar seating. If you order a Hibachi combo you more than get your monies worth. I tend to order the fried rice with veggies and filet with scallops. The entree items are always cooked to perfection and there is always enough for me to bring home leftovers. I have also sprung for their noodles as my side and they are also super tasty. If you like "sauced" thin noodles, then theirs are definitely for you. Additionally, with a Hibachi combo you get soup, salad, and ice cream for your dessert. As I stated before, it's a great meal that is worth every penny!

I've come here twice and had the same great experience both times! We made reservations via phone both times and were seated right away. Everyone at the front desk entry way was friendly and prepared to seat you down at your table. There's two areas to sit in. If you just want sushi you can sit in the middle booths and there's separate rooms for the hibachi to be made right in front of you. I love the separate rooms so everyone is more spread out. We've had Willy as our chef both times we've been here and he's truly amazing! Not only is he funny but all his food is perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. The waitress who took our drink order was very quick and we appreciated that. I ordered the Chicken Hibachi the first time and the second time, I ordered the combo chicken and shrimp hibachi. Both meals were delicious! The hibachi dinner comes with a soup, salad, steamed rice, meat of your choice and a scoop of ice cream or rainbow sherbet. You can add fried rice for an additional $2. We just love it here! As soon as we got up, they were ready to clean the table and make sure everything was ready for the next party. There's plenty of parking in their parking lot. We highly recommend this hibachi restaurant and look forward to coming back!

We did a resident outing with my Senior Community here. Big fan of hibachi and nice to have something in the Johns Creek area. They were able to accommodate our seniors with wheelchairs and get us in comfortably. It is actually nice inside of here and they have a really nice aquarium to look at. There was nothing spectacular about this visit and the food was par for the course. My teriyaki chicken and fried rice were decent but they did give huge helpings to us. Everyone left with lots of leftovers and full bellies. The chef did the usual funny stuff and the residents were happy. All in all, a good outing!

We ordered bam bam scallops for an appetizer, and it was excellent! My kids each ordered two rolls and I got the chirachi don sushi bowl (which came with soup and salad and ice cream). The kids got the volcano roll, crunchy California, rainbow, and eel. Everything was incredibly fresh and delicious! Generous fish and size of everything! Bill came out to $95, which is a bit much for dinner for 3, imo, but it seemed worth it for a special evening. The ambiance was amazing, family friendly. Loved our time here!! (Kids said, maybe the best sushi ever!)

Best hibachi in Alpharetta! Hands down! I always have great food, drinks and service here! The staff always makes sure to accommodate you ! Managers are always walking around asking how everything is. I highly recommend coming in for either a cozy sit down bite with their variety of sushi and drink menu or have a blast at the hibachi area! Thanks kani yall are awesome!

I went Kani house March 25 around 1:30 pm. I opened door and the black lady never say hi and just keep looking me 5 scecond. It was so awkward. And after pay the check, she also keep looking me never say bye. Wtf . This black lady have to appreciate living this country. If she work like that in other countries, she will become garbage animal. So don't complain your poor life. Just keep saying god bless America

Had the chicken hibachi with fried rice here. Food was ok but I've had better. The yum yum and ginger sauces were very watery which makes me think they watered it down to stretch it to last longer. I would not recommend the hibachi here.

Gave Kani House a try in spite of the kind of scary reviews. Sometimes, you have a pretty clear vision of what you want for a meal. I haven't had a proper teppanyaki meal in a while, and I was siked. Kani House is our local brand. The flagship restaurant opened in Woodstock in 1999, and since that time, it has expanded to 5 total locations in this area. If you some reason don't want dinner and a show, you can also choose to eat in a more mundane setting. I ordered the chef's special, with filet mignon, shrimp, and scallops for $36. All entrees come with soup, salad, grilled vegetables, rice, and iced cream. Fried rice is a $2 upcharge. If you're a spicy food lover, it costs a staggering $3 to add chili paste to your entree for some reason. Our chef mostly did a great job. He was very entertaining and fun. The food tasted great. I have to figure out the secret to the always incredible hibachi fried rice that these restaurants have mastered. The only downside, that may be specific to this chef, or may just be Kani House's style, was the pacing of the meal. I generally like to enjoy my entire entree at once. The chef's pacing made it so you had to eat the rice and veggies first if you don't want them to get cold. Not a big deal, but also not my favorite way to enjoy the meal. My issue with the pacing of the meal didn't stop it from being one of the best that I've recently had.

we visited this hibachi restaurant last night and my friend let the staff know ahead of time that he has a serious shellfish allergy. They assured him the chicken would be cooked first to avoid cross-contamination with shrimp. Unfortunately, they did not follow through--they cooked the shrimp first and used the same spatula for both, which put my friend at serious risk. This kind of oversight is extremely dangerous for people with food allergies. Disappointing and concerning experience. My friend did not eat the chicken and then he was charged for the full meal. Food was not good, the experience was bad. Not coming back here for hibachi

John's Creek location is worst. We had a reservation for 18 people for Hibachi. The front desk were not welcoming and so were the servers who seemed least interested. Food was average nothing great.

Do not eat here unless you sit at the hibachi table. Food is completely different including the fried rice. Cold, and came out in less than 5 mins knowing that it had not been cooked immediately. Probably sat under a heat lamp or warmed up. We sat down at the hibachi table to start with and then they came up to us saying they didn't have enough cooks and that we would have to wait 40 mins for a cook so they moved us to a table. They probably knew to begin with and should have told us up front. We comehere often but won't be returning due to the poor service and nasty table food.

After church hubby and I wanted to grab hibachi with the kids, Kani House was the closest one to where we were. We'd past it for years and years but never had eaten there. I'll be honest, once when we pulled up the parking lot was empty and it looked it little tired on the outside, but we decided to give it a shot anyways. Inside was really nice! My husband said it was one of the nicest hibachi restaurants he'd ever been to. Beautiful fish tank and decor. We had a hibachi table/room all to ourselves, always a plus with young kids (only because it was empty, not by design). The way they do their hibachi menu is that it's actually cheaper to get double protein than a single, so we both both chicken and ribeye hibachi. Our chef was Jose and he was EXCELLENT! I mean the best hibachi prepared food I've ever had. He seasoned and cooked everything exceptionally well and was so kind. He engaged our three year old, and after we told him she was eating with us, he would portion off veggies, chicken and steak and cut it small for her to eat. I have literally never seen anyone be that thoughtful when eating out with kids ever. We had such a great and low key hibachi lunch as a family and the staff and service at Kani House made it happen. When we are back in John's Creek, we'll definitely be back.

The worst service I have ever experienced. Waiter damn near ignored us. Other waitress literally put her hand up as if to tell me to shut my mouth. Don't ever go here!!!

We took our son and a few friends/family to dinner to celebrate his 7th birthday. The chef was great with entertaining the kids and the service was excellent. I was surprised by the extensive bar menu and was impressed with the quality/taste of the sushi as well! Of course the hibachi meal was delicious and plentiful. We look forward to returning!

It was unexpectedly delightful albeit noisy! I decided to dine at the bar which was much quieter, focusing mic of the bar staff's attention on me and the other patron at the bar. My sashimi/ sushi combination was the good, what made it better was the side of ginger salad and hit green tea that I got with it.

The hibachi presentation here is so subpar, that's all this review is about. If you come here for a show, 4 out of 5 times you won't get one. I don't mean they're not Japanese, or something petty like that (they're not). What I mean is the chefs do very little to make this into a fun experience. I think in the past year I've taken my girls there 5 times, and only once did we get a chef who was high energy, skilled, and kept it up throughout. And we aren't talking Tuesday lunch, but Friday at 7pm. Think of all the things you see at hibachi: maybe an intro fire blaze, juggling eggs, making them multiply under the bowl, flipping spatulas, tossing eggs and having them land on the side of the spatula, drawing with eggs, tossing bits of cooked food into mouths to cheers, volcano build, volcano turns into train, tossing shrimp into hat, juggling salt and pepper and sesame while clanging on the table, and flair with food cutting and delivery. I'm sure you can think of more. I've seen much of this at Kani but tonight and the last few times, during prime dinner time, we got: intro fire blaze, volcano, that's it! Kani, literally no one goes for your food. Put an effort in, please.

My husband took me here for my birthday this afternoon, and we both loved it. Christian, our entertaining cook, did a great job! He not only cooked an amazing meal, but he also kept it fun and personable. I don't know how he did it, but he can put his hand in the fire and can grab it! I already can't wait to come back.

I was with work colleagues, the Hibachi was very good food! Large portions. The waitress as well as the Hibachi chef was very attentive to our needs. A clean restaurant with a good atmosphere. If you enjoy Hibachi cooking and food this is a good choice.

We came in on Father's Day without a reservation. First we were told they were only doing Hibachi for those with reservations. We thanked them and turned to leave. They asked us to wait a minute. They went and asked a family that was getting ready to start their meal if we could join them. They graciously agreed. Service was quick and friendly. We got our order in and quickly received our drinks and salads. The ginger dressing is so good and the salads were fresh and crisp. The soup was also good. Our hibachi chef did a fantastic job. He was friendly and engaging. The food was fantastic and the portion size was huge. We all took boxes home with leftovers. It was a wonderful way to celebrate my husband. We will definitely return soon.

My go to hibachi place! My little one loves the kids shrimp hibachi yet always eats my steak order. Definitely get the black rice fried rice! I like the yum yum sauce here because it's not too sweet like at other places. Tonight we had another fabulous dinner and discovered the bang bang shrimp. I thought it may be too spicy for my daughter but she devoured it! Our server was Joseph - very attentive and even tried to feed the eel in their aquarium for the kids to see. Our hibachi chef was funny and the kids were entertained so we could have some adult conversations. The owner, James, came by our table and checked in on our table as well as those around us. I like that level of customer service without it feeling intrusive. If you're looking for a fun, unique dining experience that's great for kids, grandparents and the like, check it out. Oh and I always come home with enough leftovers that I don't have to worry about lunch or dinner the next day.

The Kani House is tucked in a corner of a strip center in John's Creek so it is possible you've driven by and not seen it. The space is large, with half the dining space dedicated to menu and sushi ordering and the other half in hibachi rooms. There is a brightly lit (maybe too brightly lit) and lively bar area which could thrive in non-COCID days. While it is nice and clean, the atmosphere lacks a little of that wow factor and vibe than it could have. Maybe dim the lights a smidge and add some Japanese tunes? The menu was what you'd expect from a Japanese steak house with similar pricing. The food was fresh and tasty. The service was prompt and friendly and our hibachi cook/entertainer somehow managed to have new material (tough to do). Don't forget this spot when refreshing your local favorites.

I'm not sure what going on here tonight, but we have been by here before when it was just closed on a regular weekend night, but tonight they were open but said all of the hibachi was closed. They said we could eat but we had to sit at a regular table. There was plenty of staff standing around and only one other group in the restaurant. They proceeded to turn away dozens of people before seating one random group at one of the hibachi tables. Then they went back to turning people away. They still charged hibachi pricing for small plates and rushed us out of there. Clearly this business is a money laundering front for something, but I guess they forgot to tell them that they actually had to pretend to run the restaurant. I'm sure on the books they probably had an awesome night though.

Grandson asked for hibachi for his birthday dinner and we chose Kani House. The "show" was fun, the chef engaging, the service was attentive, and the food servings were generous and very tasty. I made reservations and noted that our visit was a birthday celebration. We did arrive a little early and we were asked to wait in the entrance/lobby area. I could see into the hibachi room that there was a clean, empty table. Our wait ended up to be around ten minutes with no explanation of why the wait. A party of six arrived and we were called to the table with the party of six. What? Why couldn't we have been seated to enjoy a beverage and an appetizer why waiting instead of sitting around the lobby area? We did order two appetizers to share, and they were delivered after our hibachi meal was being served. After dinner, the staff came out to celebrate a birthday in the party sharing our table and nothing was said about our grandson's birthday until we said something and then there was a "sort of" late acknowledgement. No biggie, I should have reminded the staff when we arrived. Overall, it was a fun evening enjoying an array of good food.

Terrible service!! Went to celebrate my son's birthday and was treated horribly after simply asking for soy sauce and spicy mayo sauce we had previously ordered. Sushi had been sitting at the table for over 10 minutes. Waitress never came back to the table but sent others and gave us dirty looks every time she walked by. We have been going there and ordering delivery for almost 2 years and I will NEVER go back!! Talked to one of the managers and he barely apologized.. stay away!! They don't deserve your business!

Awesome food and awesome service! The staff were so kind and helpful! The food came out very quickly and the servings are quite generous!

My husband and I are frequent visitors here. We do table seating and enjoy our favorite, the bang bang shrimp, delightful! The bar offers many cocktail options. Mr.Yi is our favorite person there. Works crazy hard but always has time for a smile and a short story. This place hasn't changed inside in over 15 plus years but hey, as long as the seats are comfy, food is good, music stays at a nice volume, we'll be back, especially to see Mr. Yi (ugh, they do tend to rotate the managers around so he may disappear for a while which is a definite negative, no one is nearly as friendly.)

I frequent this restaurant but as of late it has gone downhill. Table service is terrible they rush you and the waiter I had did not pick up any of the dirty dishes. When I asked him to he picked up one dish. every dish remained on the table until we got the check. Food wasn't fresh and waiter was not good. We ate dinner on 11/25 with sushi and hibachi. As I said I frequent this place but no more. Just ok quality on the food and the terrible waiter add for an unpleasant dinning experience. When you spend this kind of mon on dinner I don't want to look at every dish we used and the waiter actually had to shuffle the used dishes around to fit the new dishes. Ridiculous!! Mike

The best hibachi place ever. Every appetizer tasted amazing. The place is very clean and chic. I recommend taking big groups here. The service was so quick and fantastic! I am definitely coming here again soon.

Typically we have a great experience here, but this one was awful. Ordered through DoorDash. 2 dishes for me and my buddy. Missing fried rice, only 2 pieces of beef in my buddies Bento Box. Restaurant unwilling to do anything about it, and the "manager", or the manager on duty, was absolutely useless. Oh yeah, and the green beans were raw. How hard is it to cook green beans for a minute or two???

Eating at kani house is never less than a treat! all the way from the friendly and helpful host at the front to the usual stellar service from the serving staff this restaurant is where I want to find myself coming for weekends on end. the decor is great! they have a huge fish tank stocked with beautiful fish. I will definitely be recommending this place to people looking to experience a great dining experience.

Food was great. Service was amazing. Ambiance was sexy. Our server Joseph was so helpful and kind I will definitely be coming back here. I had my birthday party here and it was so memorable and lovely. Go here and ask for Joseph.

My favorite spot when in the mood for hibachi. The portions are huge, food is fresh and flavorful, entertainment is fun and they complete the meal with a scoop of ice cream, which most hibachi restaurants don't do. Love it!

Great place to watch the hibachi show with the family. Or if I'm a hurry, just order from the menu. Plenty of parking and easy to get a table. It is expensive even when you order from the menu but there is plenty of food.

I did my first visit at this location a month ago for my son's Birthday. Atmosphere: it was quaint and quiet. Not a lot of activity or business. Needs updating. Entertainment: of course this is why most attend Hibachi Grills. It's the entertainment value. Our chef was polite and awesome! Service: I think our server was new. I explicitely told her the sushi i wanted with no avocado due to allergies. What did i get? The wrong sushi with avocados. Overall: it was "ok". The whole of it all did not match with the price

They're open for curbside and to go orders as well as delivery via Uber eats! I got their spicy tofu roll. They were quick and pleasant. The spicy tofu roll hit the spot and was spicy. It has asparagus, carrots and avocado inside and it topped with spicy mayo.

Came here about a week ago with my sisters on a Saturday night. We had a reservation at 7:30 but had to wait almost an extra thirty minutes until we were seated, a little annoying but no big deal. I rarely eat in at restaurants now because of covid so it's nice when you go to a restaurant and see that they're taking the necessary precautions. The layout of the place was your typical hibachi style restaurant, nothing special but the place seemed to be clean and well kept. The staff were all really friendly, and everyone working there were wearing masks. To get a menu they had the ones that you scan on your phone so no physical menus. When we sat at our table there weren't people sitting next to us, only a couple with their child across from us at our table, so social distancing standards were upheld here. Now as far as the food goes, pretty good! I got the hibachi shrimp which came with soup and salad (appetizers) and the shrimp had vegetables and fried rice! The quality of food was definitely better than a lot of other hibachi places I've been to in the past. Our chef was nice and was quick to make our food so that was a big plus. Overall, this place kept up cleanliness, social distancing, masks, and made some pretty good hibachi in the process! If you're ever in the Johns Creek area and want some hibachi check this place out!

Came here for pandemic curve side take out. To be honest my hopes were not high with hibachi to go but wow WOWWWWW it was soooo yum yum yummy (ah yes they have the yum yum sauce) The filet was incredibly tender, the only "negative" would be it was a little too cooked but still very tender. It was like butter! No joke. Ok now the chicken was a little dry so stick with the filet. Their fried rice was flavorful but not the garlic flavored type that many hibachi places add. Their veggies were nice and fresh. Most of all they were very accommodating and took precautions during these times. Will definitely go back. They offered coupons and an Easter special. Tip: ask for their chili paste. One of the best I've had. Enjoy and stay safe.

This Kani House was pretty bad. They messed up my order and completely forgot the salads for everybody in our party. There are way too many good restaurants in that area to go to a crappy one like this.

My nephew's wife suggested we celebrate his birthday here so my sister and I decided to visit. I have always seen but this was our first try. First the decor is really nice and relaxing. The fish tank in the front is gorgeous. So we meet up at Kani around 7:15pm and we decided to do the hibachi. We all know that's it's usually a wait time. We got seated at our table around 7:30 pm. One of the hibachi grillman was just finishing so we were being patient. Well 20 minutes later a gentleman noticed that we haven't been greeted or served drinks. Which is wierd because our server was in and out of our room. She eventually takes our order after apologizing. Our grillman is funny and does all of the usually trucks and was very engaging. Our server brings us the wrong order and has to rush back to get the correct one. My sister is allergic to avocado and that was what she attempted to serve her. Ouch. The food was very good and plentiful. Our meals came with desserts but before we got them she gave us our checks. Wth. We had to ask for them before she cashed us out. My nephew noticed the now hiring sticker when we left. Makes you wonder. Food good, service not so much.

Rough Monday. Place was empty, but took 30 minutes to get a cold miso soup and edamame. Similar to other restaurants, very difficult getting good staff and it shows. Always someone new at the front, and always empty. Only good thing is convenience. But I think given the most recent visit, this will be my last. Tough finding good sushi in the suburbs.
