Kanin

Excellent hiking. I hiked from Bovec using first the Cable car. Thats a great thing to do. Once you exit from the cable car its around 2-3 hours hiking depending of your pace and how much photos you make. Its not a difficult hike. There are some sections where you should be careful when using the ropes or the steps. Helmet is also a good idea to have. There are a lot of mountain goats on the way. There is also a via ferrata trail from the Italian side which I havent used.

Being up here was an experience I can't quite describe. It's so quiet up here. I could hear it when people over a mile away were talking. At night you can see the stars and milkyway like you've never seen them before. When the sun is out, make sure you bring sun blocker otherwise you'll get a horrible sunburn.

If is not winndy and cloudy, one of the best view in the region. Dont go during winter as on slovenian side there is a lot of deep holes in the rocks. Spring is the worst time, for same reason, melting snow.

Very exciting hike

We approached by cable car. Easy route. Little bit cloudy on the summit ridge. You can climb there also from Italian side of the mountain. There is also well known ski center there. Recommended for sure at any time of the year. For skiers and hikers as well.
