"Kazuma Yagi learned the spirit of devoted customer service at a succession of high-profile ryotei and ryokan. He thinks about his menus as he visits the fields of Shugakuin Imperial Villa in Kyoto. His vegetable takiawase impart the flavours of the season using the rich aroma of freshly harvested ingredients. The son of an antique store owner in Gion, Yagi also expresses the seasons through the elegant antique vessels on which he presents his dishes. We had a wonderful lunch there on Sunday and experienced real local cuisines. The chef introduced each course and serve well, definitely will recommend to those who are interested to have fine dining in Kyoto.

great restaurant, I have booked with my husband for my birthday night , I have asked them for vegetarian dishes for my husband and the chef has accepted and prepared a veg menu which was really great as many other Michelin restaurant rejected our reservation once I asked for vegetarian menu , The courses were very delicious , the staff tried their best with english which was ok for us , they have prepared the menu printed in english for us so we would understand what are we eating . Great restaurant with great food and atmosphere, I would definitely recommend it

This is hands down the best meal I’ve had in my life. The chef is highly skilled and very kind. I will be thinking of the Hoba Yaki and the desserts long after this trip. The sake pairing was also very good. Thank you so much!

This is my second visit to the restaurant. The food is so refined and delicious, Kyoto style Kaiseki at its finest. Fresh local ingredients crafted masterfully by the passionate chef. The chef makes everything from scratch including the dessert. You can’t go wrong here.

KANZAN is a must-try Kaiseki restaurant if you’re visiting Kyoto. Every course is beautifully crafted, and the entire dining experience feels special from start to finish. The Kaiseki meal is delicately prepared with locally sourced ingredients, and you can truly taste the care and flavor in every bite. Not only is the food outstanding, but the presentation is also stunning—each dish looks like a work of art. I highly recommend KANZAN to anyone looking for an exceptional Kaiseki dining experience in Kyoto. PS: Don’t miss their signature dish, saba sushi. It’s amazingly delicious—the best I’ve ever had!

カウンターだけの席なので静かにゆっくり食事ができました。 お腹ペコペコで行きましたが懐石の品数がとても多かったです。どれもとても美味しかったです。その中でも梅肉じょうゆ(ソース？）が美味しくて刺身以外の料理にも付けて頂きました✨梅肉といっても少し甘めです😊自宅でも食べたくて購入しました。(瓶で売ってくれます） お店の駐車場はないので、京都からすぐなのでタクシーで行きました。近くにコインパーキングがありましたが台数が少く予想通り「🈵」になってました。 機会があればまたお食事したいなぁと思ってます。
