I was invited to come to dinner here and I was ecstatic, because I've always wanted to try this place since they have opened.
The spot is very nice; it's across the street from The Senate and The Tin Roof, so depending on the day and time you go, you may just see the partygoers across the street jamming to the tunes of the DJ.
I loved the atmosphere and decor; super Boho, Asian, Modern, Chic is the vibe that I received here. It's an old fire station so it's cool to see how they've transformed this building.
The waitress was super attentive and helpful since it was my first time there and she made sure everyone was taken care of and was willing to fix anything if it was less than perfect or great. The menus are contactless so prepare to whip that phone out.
Now on to the food review:
For cocktails, I ordered the "Royal Rachini" which was infused with lavender and it was good. I'm not a Lunaazul Tequila type of woman, however, it went well with this drink (see picture); I got it because my friend ordered it and it was really pretty. My other friend ordered the Peachy Keen with jalapeño and side of some type of peppery-spicy alcohol.
As an appetizer, I ordered the Roti and Curry, which was so tasty, flavorful, bold, yet light. The roti was toasted perfectly and the curry dipping sauce can be a dish by itself, which I have a feeling it is. The portion size was definitely shareable for 2-4 people.
One of my friends ordered the Hoisin Mushroom Bao as an appetizer which was very tasty considering I didn't know what to expect. A true infusion of flavors! Nice, fluffy, and fulfilling. You get two of them however the two will be more than enough, trust me. My other friend ordered the Brussel Sprouts and she loved them! They looked a little over cooked to me but she said they were nice, tender, and seasoned very well with molasses, sea salt, soy sauce and garlic.
For entrees, I ordered the K.F.C.-Kao Fried Chicken with egg fried rice instead of the white rice. I must say I was disappointed in the KFC and it's partly because of the sauce it's tossed in. The flavor was more salty than of a sweet and sour, maybe more sour than sweet. The chicken was fried perfectly and the presentation was divine since it was sprinkled with sesame seeds, yet I felt like I was eating two separate meals with this dish. They didn't balance to me, and the egg fried rice stole the show with it being tasty and cooked well versus the flavor of the chicken throwing things off a bit. The portion size was enough to take for leftovers which I did eventually eat and still felt the same later on that night.
I didn't dock this place any stars since overall the food, atmosphere, staff, and even bathrooms were all top notch. Highly recommend for either date night, a group dinner, or simply hanging at the bar solo, I will be going back soon.
