Google
The most incredible Thai food that I've ever had! My favorites in the Seattle region are Hanuman Thai and Araya (both of which are still great) but I think Kaosamai tops it all. The food is from northern Thailand and is generally spicier than conventional Thai food. So if you go for 3 on spice level on other restaurants, you might want to go with 2 here. The pepper tofu, the mango salad and the Taro fritter were 3 items that were super unique and something that definitely worth a try. Overall, excellent and 5 star food and service! Pls make it a stop if you are in the Fremont area in seattle. They also have two food trucks up by the Amazon in Belltown.

Cozy atmosphere and delicious fresh food! This is a go-to spot for the locals that referred me and it did not disappoint! I look forward to coming again.

Google
Extremely delicious restaurant…poor customer service. Not my first time coming and eating in at this place but this is my first experience of bad/unsanitary service. We were seated by the male host, he set our table up, asked us if he could get us started on drinks, returned with drinks and he took our order. Absolutely amazing and friendly. He checked on our table multiple times. As we were waiting, there is a female buss girl who was being quite rude to some customers in the super small area, one being a complaint about the food and she straight up told him that he doesn’t have to like it and she could take it back. Biggest issue is she is wearing gloves - like handling dirty dishes, grabbing your credit card, handing you your bill, and giving you your fresh food…that is unsanitary. You can’t even do that in a hospital. We were there on a Soupocalypse Fremont quest to get the gift prize at the end. We were on our 7th bowl of soup. My partner in crime, girlfriend and I were ordering a bowl to share and we would get our tickets on each of our cards and go to the next place! Yeah this place is literally no fun when it comes to locals events, we got swindled by the buss girl, who took over our table out of nowhere after seeing dirty dishes on the side, into buying another 4 serving bowl of soup after already ordering a 4 serving bowl of soup and kept saying “2 soup 2 sticker” and shaking her head at us. (Not really swindled since the food is so goddamn good) extremely expensive as well so be warned, as well as they do a 15% added on to every bill (10% for back staff 5% for front staff) on top asking for tips starting at 20%. Anyway, I explained that we were on our 7th restaurant and that every single place we have been to has been doing one bowl 3 stickers and she was just soo set in stone and didn’t want us to get to the prize! True rule followers right there! Quest was almost a failure if it weren’t for the other restaurants! Not so sure if I’ll be back for a while. Maybe in the fall, see you then <3

Google
Got dinner here last night. Thai food is some of my absolute favorite, and this Pad Thai did not disappoint!! I got it with tofu, spice 2, it was so good. Only think is I wish there was more tofu, there was only like 5 pieces. My friend got Pad See Ew, with beef spice 3. He said it was super good, but a little on the spicy side so be aware if you like a little but not too much spice. Overall this was a great place. Perfect for a date night or just out with friends. There have inside seating, under a tent type seating, and deck seating so I highly recommend going on a warm summer Seattle night and siting outside. But be aware it is next to the Main Street through Fremont so lots of noisy cars but if you don’t mind that you’ll love it!

We hired the Kaosamai food truck for a corporate event and it was AWESOME! The food was excellent, the service was fast, and the staff was super friendly and easy to coordinate the event with. Our employees loved the menu and generous portions. We would definitely have Kaosamai back for a future event and recommend them to other businesses!

Google
Delicious Thai food. Ordered a Tamarind Pad Thai with Fresh Spring Rolls and all the ingredients seemed fresh. Decent selection of alcoholic beverages. Has both indoor as well as outdoor seating options with flame heaters on the patio. The service can be improved though. The servers need to be a bit more hospitable. Was accidentally served chicken Pad Thai when I had ordered the Tofu one. They rectified their mistake once notified and brought the original dish ordered.

Google
Fantastic thai food, great atmosphere and very good service! I had the Moo Ping bbq pork skewers as an appetizer and these were superb. Great char on them and super flavorful sauce. I had the Pad Kra Pao for a main which was very good as well and came as a generous portion. As a drink I had the tamarid passionfruit soda which went really nicely with the food. Really happy I found this spot while in Seattle—I'll be back.

Google
Friendly atmosphere and a beautiful place to sit down for a Thursday evening dinner. They have a great outdoor space and the food was fresh. My server gave me great recommendations and I am excited that I took her suggestion on the crab rangoon. Would definitely go back sometime soon.

Samantha K.

Yelp
This isn't my first time at Kaosamai, but maybe my first review? I love this place. We had the mama noodles, pad thai with tamarind, and fresh rolls. We opted for tofu on one, and chicken in the other. The tofu was marinated and actually incorporated beautifully into the dish, rather than an afterthought. I really appreciated this, as somebody trying to eat less meat. Spice levels were explained to us, and we ordered accordingly. This is authentic Thai, so you should expect heat to accompany the vibrant flavors. We sat at the high top in the window. The bar stools have back support and padding, which was another lovely surprise. You can tell a lot of thought went into creating the ambiance of the space. Generous portions, really great food, comfortable space, and family ran. I really enjoy this restaurant :) Very confused and surprised to see anything other than glowing 5 star reviews, and I wouldn't pay them any mind.

Yelp
If we were to dine in, I wouldn't be so bothered by 20% gratuity!! Getting slapped with 20% on take-out (not a delivery service) we were flabbergasted. Made a huge mistake leaving extra tip, before viewing the take-out receipt. Drove all the way from North Beach to personally pick up, navigating Saturday traffic & parking, we really felt insulted. Dined many times in the past and the food was passable, with their low spice level nearly choking us! Their family staff is indeed rude. They don't smile, nor make you feel welcome. Garlic chix wings: not cooked sufficiently. Texture was rubbery. No taste Beef eggplant: beef was gristly/overcooked. Called to inquire about the auto gratuity and they insisted it's on their website. TOWARD THE BOTTOM - NOT AT THE TOP! They should clarify on To Go Orders too! Poor way of treating their customers being in business for 20 yrs. Raising their prices is understandable but this really hit a nerve!
google avatar

Yelp
It was my first and last time I try this place: - 20% service/ gratuity fees - Rude waitresses with "angry" vibe! - They have the audacity to ask you for a tip! Food is "ok" I don't care about money, but I don't tolerate bad service and servers with attitude!

J T.

Yelp
Great family owned spot. Have been coming here for years, they are consistent with portions and flavors.

Barbara C.

Yelp
The 20% service charge was ridiculous. They also added a "group charge" of 15% on top of the service charge which I had to ask them to take off. They couldn't even explain why it had been added. If you are adding a service charge to pay your employees better, raise your prices! This felt very bait and switch. Overall a bad experience and the food was only fine, not great. We stopped in because it's right next to the Nectar Lounge where we had tickets for a show but I'm sorry we did. It definitely started the evening off on a bad note.

Cassidy H.

Yelp
We came here for soupocalypse, the duck soup was good but the service was not. The girl was rude to us, the table next to us and the table next to them. When checking out we were upsold a curry for our soup cards, and a surprise to us 15% up charge that we didn't know about until later. Their card system suggests a 25%, 30% and 35% tip choice. Very disheartening and wish I would have checked the reviews.

Raven H.

Yelp
I really tried, but this place is not for me. Between the 20% auto-grat and the servers who clearly hate their jobs, it's bad enough. Add on how inconsistent the flavors and spice levels are, it's just inedible. I know their spice "warnings" so we got Pad Thai a week ago with spice level 1 and thought "wow, this isn't spicy at all. It's a little bland. Maybe let's try 2 next time." This time we did 2 and it was so spicy we couldn't even eat it and literally had to just throw it away. My lips are on fire and I'm still hungry. I'm sorry but if you're gonna own a restaurant, let's train everyone on consistency. Won't be back, I'm sorry.

Yelp
We've been going to Kaosamai for years. We've seen them through all the tough times and great times. We used to go a lot when we lived in Fremont and still go now that we've moved out. Our little daughter knows most of the waiters and waitresses and they know her very well :) If you look at most of the negative reviews on here, people are complaining about the 20% gratuity charge. It's totally ok for people to be concerned about this, but there are signs everywhere in the restaurant about it. It's on the front page of their website. As the website calls out, it's to ensure their staff is paid well. So leaving a negative review only because of that (instead of simply declining to eat there) sucks because it doesn't reflect Kaosamai's amazing food and people. If you don't agree with it then don't eat there! Re. food, there are so many yummy dishes and large portions. I highly recommend the Taro fritters, Cashew chicken, Pad bai krapow, and the ginger chicken dish with noodles! The food can be super spicy or not. It's not oily, all seems fresh, healthy and delicious. Their restaurant is in a great spot, in the heart of Fremont. They have an awesome outdoor patio, during the summer we like to hang out there and get drinks. The best part of Kaosamai are the staff. The kitchen staff consistently make some of the best Thai food I've had and the service staff is so incredibly kind and thoughtful. We have had some great memories at Kaosamai. I hope Kaosamai continues for years and years to come!

Leah K.

Yelp
Food was decent, tasty panang curry. Really troubled by the 20 percent gratuity slapped on for TO-GO orders. I have never seen that in my life and will not return. I can understand for dine-in, more so for bigger parties that dine in. Cannot fathom how I need to pay 20 percent on my order for service I did not receive. Pay your employees more! I have read that this is posted on their website/menus/etc. doesn't matter. It's wild.

Sharon L.

Yelp
The food was ok. Pad see ew was too salty and Tom yum noodles didn't have that much broth, noodles were a bit hard. The skewers were a little dry but the sauce was good, didn't know what the white stuff on the sauce was. The service was so bad!! And yet, they charge 20% on all tables! I didn't see that anywhere. The server was so rude, I pretty sure ordered two appetizers and only one came and I asked her about it and she said you only ordered one. Usually you're supposed to repeat the order back to us but she didn't do that and I clearly remember ordering both but I didn't want to argue so I just went with it. I asked if noodle soups qualify as for the discount for Tuesdays and she said yes but then when I asked if appetizers still get $2 off for happy hour, the server seemed very impatient and said I got that already! I asked for a 3 star for my noodles and she said are you sure because it's spicy and we don't give refunds or exchanges if you can't tolerate it. Her passive aggressive attitude made me so uncomfortable for the whole dining experience. I wanted to try the duck tacos but I won't go back again with that kind of service. Only came to check it out because Kwanjai Thai was closed.

Yelp
TOTAL SCAM,Do not come here, the people that run this place are out of their minds. They up charge you on everything and add a mandatory 20% tip on everything including the takeout! And then have the audacity to ask for an additional tip on top. For 3 noodle dishes our bill was 75 dollars. I see other people have similar problems and they claimed it's industry standard. Having worked in the industry myself, this may be standard for in-house dining but is outrageous to expect takeout service fees. What service have you provided besides the base fee? Will never return. Worst experience.

Yelp
The food is DELICIOUS! We ordered several dishes and there wasn't a single one that wasn't solid! Loved the satay, noodle dishes, curries, and lettuce wraps. I love how colorful this place is and how bright and cheery it gets! The service was great and the waitstaff were super nice and friendly.
google avatar

Lisa P.

Yelp
Nice, spacious, and bright dining area! Friendly and quick service. Food was delicious. We enjoyed Chicken Potstickers and Phad Kee Mow. Splitting both was enough food for two.
google avatar

Annabeth C.

Yelp
The food is out-of-control good and the spice level is no joke! Portions are large; I can usually split an entree with a friend (or take home some bomb leftovers). Super friendly atmosphere!

Yelp
We came here last Friday around 5:30 PM with a party of 7. It was not busy and we were seated right away. Parking: they have a private lot around back of the restaurant We ordered: - crab rangoons - tofu fresh rolls - khao soi - pumpkin curry - panan curry - pad thai - alcoholic beverages We shared the crab rangoons and fresh rolls, and both were good. I ordered the khao soi as my entrée, it was on their specials board. Presentation was 5/5, taste wise, I thought it could have been a little more flavorful. It wasn't the best khao soi I have ever had, but it was still good. If I were to come back I'd probably try the other dishes. At the end of our meal, they said they could only accept 3 cards. So we opted to put it on one card and we all Venmo'd our friend.

Hannah W.

Yelp
Food was average. But pricing is insane. Requiring a 20% service charge on dining is fine if service is decent. Unfortunately that is not the case here. I was encountered with rude staff with bad attitudes. I was also asked to tip on top on the 20%. Will not be returning, 0/5 stars.
google avatar

Lawrence L.

Yelp
In a city filled with great Thai choices, Kaosamai is a cozy Fremont spot. Downtown Fremont is always alive, walkable, and a feast for the eyes. The waitstaff is always chatting with customers, and you are greeted and seated quickly and efficiently. Kaosamai is approachable, with a simple but complete menu of the usual Thai favorites. Lots of vegetarian choices, and they check to ensure eggs are ok for vegan customers without being asked. I had the Pad Khee Mao with tofu, four stars (out of four). It was nicely spiced, with a good char on the tofu and satisfying noodle chewiness. Put Kaosami into the rotation and sit outside on warm days.

Jackie M.

Yelp
WON'T BE GOING BACK. Reason: 20% 'Delivery Fee' added to the bill. Supposedly, I should have noted this charge ahead of time in a super-fine print, somewhere. Incredible that they still asked for a tip, on top of the 20% upcharge. I'd love to go back bc the food was actually good and the service OK. But, there's no way I can support this pricing model.
google avatar

darnit y.

Yelp
Warning. TIP IS INCLUDED in the bill but they often won't tell you. 5 star food. 2 stars for being kinda scammy with the tips. It's not 40% service.
google avatar

Gun H.

Yelp
Firstly, I like that this restaurant offers a very high spice level which I expect from Thai food. The prices and quality of food are on par with several other options in the area, but it is not in my top 3, I mostly went here for the convenience of being near by. This would be a 4 star place, but what I have an issue with is that they now force a 20% gratuity on take-out orders. I hate the idea of forced gratuity, even having worked in the service industry, and 20% on a take-out order is outrageous. I will not come back here.
google avatar

Tracy M.

Yelp
We've been dining here for years, I'm surprised I've yet to write this review. Good menu selection, market-rate prices, clean, lovely covered patio, plenty of seating, delicious food prepared fast. It appears a 20% gratuity/service fee is automatically being added to dine-in (& possibly takeout too?), and our dine-in service was worth it.
google avatar

Yelp
I don't know why I haven't come here sooner. The service: impeccable. The food: DELICIOUS & flavorful!! The drinks: strong, just how I like them. I love a restaurant that makes you feel like you're at home when you walk in. I just know they're in the back whipping up authentic Thai food... so for the people that can't even handle a morsel of pepper, order no stars, hahah. The food is flavorful and true to Thai Spicy as it gets. My mouth is watering typing this and I'm so glad I have leftovers for lunch today. It's spacious inside, and when it's nice out, they have a pretty big outdoor patio area. If you're reading this, go tonight for dinner. You won't be disappointed.

Brian C.

Yelp
This place imposes a 20% service charge NO EXCEPTIONS. And they expect you to give tip on top of that. I flat out told the waitress that's wrong, and had I known about this mandatory 20% service charge, I would not have eaten there. This was FRAUD. I know of no other restaurant that does this. Did I give a gratuity? NOPE. No way I'm paying 20% to the restaurant and 18% more to the waitess for a total of 38%. It's either one or the other. You can't have both if you're forcing me to pay a service charge. I won't be back.

Estapraq K.

Yelp
The food is fine and big portion, however you need to know that 20% tip was added already to the price and the waitress was not nice and when she brought the check she brought us another tip to add saying there is 20% already added if u want to leave another tip - like wth is that ?! Basically if you are two, you are paying for 3 ppl bc of the tip
google avatar

Angieee N.

Yelp
Friendly wait staff and DELICIOUS food! Portions are huge too Highly recommend the duck noodle soup (Guay Tiew Bed) it's so flavorful and just the right blend of spices and tang. Prices are good though there's an automatic 20% service fee from each diner to maintain providing competitive staff wages, which I hugely respect! Pros: * huge portions * authentic Asian cuisine * delicious soup bases * they make the effort to pay their employees equitably

Suk L.

Yelp
Great food, great service! Food tastes clean (like no MSG bomb), and this is probably the only Thai restaurant that gave enough heat to match spice level requested.
google avatar

Eddie G.

Yelp
Came to this place because I had a craving for Thai and this place did not disappoint. They have a spice level 1-5, 5 being the spiciest. I love spicy so I got a 3 out of 5 it had a nice spice to it where you can en joy the flavor and not have to reach for a cup of water. The noodles and soup had so much flavor. Good portion of food for lunch.

Syd K.

Yelp
Ridiculous prices. There is a base price and then there are add ons. That will still be ok if you didn't have to deal with a waitress with bad disrespectful attitude.
google avatar

Deepak G.

Yelp
Visited them yesterday. Food was was overall decent. The mango salad was delicious. They charge flat 20% service charge as tips. Folks be aware of this before you go to the place.
google avatar

Marta K.

Yelp
Came here with some friends and had a great experience. The service was great, food came out quick, and everyone loved their dishes! I had the Ba Me Hang and the flavors were on point. Would recommend and will be returning.

danielle d.

Yelp
hands down the BEST papaya salad i've had at any thai or laos restaurant, so flavorful! I would recommend the papaya salad and nam khao and would skip on the mango trout. The mango trout was lacking crispness and flavor, also wasn't too huge of a fan of the huge mango pieces because it took away from the other garnishes. I would make the drive just for the papaya salad, SO GOOD!
google avatar

Max B.

Yelp
Kaosamai really is my favorite Thai restaurant around. They consistently get it right like few others do. Their ingredients are fresh and high quality, the serving sizes are substantial, the flavors are well built, and the spice level is on point (I get a 3 and it's hot, but not murderous). I work nearby and this is one of my most frequented lunch spots - it's one of Fremont's best, hands down. My go-tos are the Phad See Iew, Phad Thai, Phad Kee Mow, and the prawn fresh rolls...but everything here has been great. Panang curry, cashew chicken, and pineapple fried rice are my other barometers of Thai food, and they nail it with all of them. So glad I have such excellent Thai food available so close!
google avatar

Mia K.

Yelp
Look for this Thai tea-like orange color house. Better than other Thai places in the area. Dishes aren't too saucy here. Service is marginal here. Parking lot in the back. Can see their food truck in the parking lot. Catering available. Ordered Fresh Rolls with Prawns $9.95 Eggplant Special (stirfry with some sauce) $13.95 Pham Bai Kaprao Kai Dow stirfry ground chicken, green bean, pepper, chili, basil. Served over rice & topped with fried egg $15.95 Jasmine Rice $2 Located -on NE corner of Phinney Ave N & N 36th Ave (4 blocks west of Fremont Ave N)

Veronika D.

Yelp
Tip is included 20% and they didn't even first present the check to me, I had to insist before I signed for my credit card and then I saw it. Almost tipped twice. Food is just OK. They reversed the spice level in our orders; the papaya salad was suppose to be 1 and the eggplant 3, but the papaya was very spicy and the eggplant almost none. When we complained to waitress she actually said she tasted the eggplant dish before she served it so she was sure it was a 3. A little concerning she is tasting your food!! Will never never go back. Maybe if the food was really good but was just average.
google avatar

Sritha V.

Yelp
Had the basil fried rice delivered and it carried very well. Got spice level 3 and it was perfect for me. Plenty of veggies in the rice which I loved since I only chose egg for my protein. Will be going back to try their soup and noodles!
google avatar

Nathan R.

Yelp
The food was actually really good - but it took more than a half an hour for them to take our order and we noticed our server taking the order of a group that had came 10 minutes after us before she came to take ours. We also ordered cocktails and they brought us our drinks after we had finished our meals while we were waiting for the check. By the time they brought us our drinks we had assumed they weren't coming and were already ready to go. For two drinks and two standard meals we paid $75 and they had the audacity to tell us there was a 20% mandatory tip. If they hadn't of made that tip mandatory I wouldn't be leaving this review, but that made me very pissed off after the terrible service we experienced.
google avatar

Regular J.

Yelp
Been a long time regular but have lived abroad last 4 years. Immediately upon entering I could tell this wasn't the same owner/staff that used to be here. No problem, things change. I drove to pick up my favorite 2 dishes, pad kee mao and pad Thai. Lady ringing me up said it was $50. I'm like no no, I only ordered 2 noodle dishes. She said yes, $50. I friendly declined and said I wouldn't pay. The cashier loudly called to her manager "this guy don't want to tip." Once again I said I'm not paying that, manager said ok and I left. I'm sorry, I'm a generous tipper in all circumstances. But to add 20% charge to all orders, including when you pick it up yourself, then being so rude about it was too much for me. With the multitude of amazing Thai restaurants in Fremont sadly I'll be passing on what used to be my favorite one

Yelp
Meal: Fresh Rolls with Prawns, Chicken Satay, Lychee Martini, Phad Thai, Pa'Nang Curry & Chicken With Cashew Nuts. Ambiance: **** The ambiance here was very nice with cute string lights creating a warm and friendly atmosphere, apart from a loud and obnoxious diner seated across the patio area from us (not the restaurant's fault). Business **** The service was excellent from the waitstaff - I did not get a glimpse of how the kitchen was run - but the operation seemed to flow well and there were zero discrepancies on our bill. Cuisine: **** The food was AMAZING, with one important exception listed below. The appetizers played their parts well - satisfied and delighted my immediate hunger and left me longing to be introduced to the incredible fare that was to come. The shrimp wraps were tasty and their house hoisin sauce paired very nicely with the crisp vegetables. The chicken satay was marinated very well and it was paired nicely with a rich and semi-sweet peanut sauce. I thoroughly enjoyed the sauce from the chicken with cashew nuts. I'm a sauce-loving foodie for sure, but preference aside, this sauce really made this dish! The vegetables were the perfect balance of soft/marinated and crunchy. The cashews added a bit of pleasant crunchiness as well. The chicken - tender, juicy, and saucy - just how I like it! The curry was a delightful treat for my tastebuds. I thought it had a great balance of coconut and seasoning and the tender chicken pieces were in aplenty. There were just enough vegetables to be dangerous and the curry soaked into my rice bed well. The Important Exception: For real Pad Thai fans, this is important! DO NOT ORDER THE PHAD THAI! Only order the "Phad Thai with Tamarind Sauce." You'd think this would be a no-brainer, but I was apparently mistaken, and I have a good brain (NOT in a Simple Jack voice - for all my Tropic Thunder fans, lol). "Phad Thai" is a poor rendering of a cheap, overly-sweetened, highly-Americanized version of the already Americanized version of the dish that we all know and love. They make their "Phad Thai" sauce with tons of catsup. I'm really hoping this is not a common occurrence to appease the uncultured Karen's of Seattle. Honestly, it hurts my heart just thinking about it. The "Phad Thai with Tamarind Sauce" is the real deal, catsup-free, Americanized Thai rice noodle dish that my true Thai enthusiasts are used to. If you make the mistake I did last night, it will haunt your hungry soul forever! So DO NOT ORDER THE "PHAD THAI" without Tamarind Sauce.

Alexander Z.

Yelp
Very good service. Great indoor and outdoor seating. And very good Thai food. Lots of options and can easily adjust spice level.

Tommi A.

Yelp
Great food, Great spice and the service here is top tier. They are so friendly and are always take care of you!
google avatar

Allen C.

Yelp
Service is really really bad. Love their food trucks but avoid the restaurant. Food took forever they were short staffed
google avatar

Michael R.

Yelp
Wide selection of dishes - we particularly enjoyed the Phad Se Iew! They were easily able to accommodate a gluten-free person in our party. Friendly, prompt service in a comfortable setting. We ate inside because the outside dining area was pretty crowded when we got there but that looked nice, too. They have a small parking lot (if you get lucky).

Yelp
My last visit here left a bad taste in my mouth. I was excited to have the duck noodle soup again, and ordered it 2 stars. I ordered extra duck so that the leftovers would have enough meat. My husband ordered green curry with chicken, also 2 stars. When our food came, mine was milder than it had been before, and my husband's green curry was so hot I wouldn't have been able to eat it. We talked to the server, who said all the curries start at 2 stars, and you can add more spice if you want to. That curry was not 2 stars!! Especially compared to mine. I realized I would not be able to order curry there, a disappointment. But that was when I thought we'd be coming back another time. When the bill came, on the machine, it was hard to read, so I asked for a paper copy. I was charged $8 for the extra duck, not $6 like the online menu and the QR menu said. I said that to the server, who went to the kitchen and talked to the chef?owner?, She came back out and said that prices had gone up and they had to charge more. I said fine, but you have to change your menus. I wouldn't have ordered it at that price. She went back to the kitchen, and relayed that she hadn't had time to change it. Meanwhile, they're both looking at the plastic menu to check the price, and I knew the soup wasn't even on that menu. I finally said I didn't have time to stand there arguing about it, and started to leave, and the server said she would refund the money to me. How, I wasn't sure. She finally came out with 2 dollar bills for me. What kind of place argues with a patron who is clearly right? I will not be going back, and I recommend you check your bill closely.

Yelp
Really tasty (I got the curry fried rice), reasonable prices, GIANT portions, lovely outdoor space. Service was pretty fast considering the place was busy (it was the day of the Solstice Parade). I will definitely be back!

Yelp
Reading other posts here I wonder why anyone would not give this family-owned place five stars? It's unpretentious, laid-back, nice staff, more than excellent Thai food, decent prices, and has a great menu. On top of that there is cozy outdoor seating with ample shade, and they allow dogs. We had chicken pot stickers, papaya salad, duck noodle soup, Phad Bai Kaprao Kai Dow and Thai coffee. All came in nicely displayed and with all full flavors that you hope for when it comes to Thai food. Even our 12-year old picky daughter loved the food. Anything but five stars would be an abomination to the rating system.

Yelp
FLY IN WATER IS NOT BLACK RICE!!!!!!! This is the worst place in Seattle. Food was just basic and service was the worst on earth. Don't go there unless you want to be yelled at!! Based on the previous reviews on yelp, this cranky gal just likes to yell at her customers. There was a black fly in water and when we let the girl (restaurant owner probably) know, first thing she said was "I don't know how to speak to that" and then took the glass away and never came back. We wanted to let the other service to know about it(after payment), the owner came right away and said it was not a fly but a black rice. And yelled us to never came back again. She has been cranky all nigh(or a week given previous week from 6 days ago also mentioned her yelling issue) apparently : ). I don't even wanna mention about how slow the food was and incorrect order. Worst place in Seattle. Don't go unless you want bugs in food : ) and people yelling at your face

Yelp
Nice food and outdoor seating. The service has not been very good the few times that we have been there. During our last dinner, the service was inattentive and rude. The server casually said that a mandatory 20% tip was added for a party of three. We won't be back any time soon.

Yelp
Kaosamai is truly a hidden gem! Such great prices for the quality and quantity of food that you get :) Plus the servers are really nice and careful with COVID precautions. I ordered 3 entrees for two people expecting there to not be enough food if I only ordered 2. Boy was I wrong because we had enough leftovers for 2 days! I got the Pad Thai, Pineapple fried rice, and Volcano Chicken. The Volcano Chicken came with a sweet and spicy sauce that was amazing and paired well with every entree! Although I love love love Thai food, many restaurants make their food too oily...well, not Kaosamai! I was pleasantly surprised with how flavorful each entree was without all the oil that plagues Thai food from other restaurants. I'm not sure what their dine-in options are, but I've only ever ordered take-out. However the servers have always been helpful and patient with me, even over the phone (which is always appreciated, I've had some bad phone experiences let me tell you!). Definitely check out Kaosamai if you're in the area and looking for some great Thai food.
