We recently had the privilege of staying at Kapama River Lodge for a safari experience, and it was absolutely amazing! The lodge itself is stunning, with beautifully maintained grounds and comfortable rooms that exceeded our expectations. The food was delicious, and our server, Tint, was exceptional in ensuring our dining experience was top-notch. But what truly made our stay unforgettable was the safari experience, led by the incredible Eve and Ma Fridge. They were not only expert guides but also showed a remarkable ability to connect with our 6-year-old daughter, making the experience enjoyable for the whole family. We were thrilled to spot all of the Big 5 and so much more during our safari, and the guides' knowledge and passion for the wildlife and conservation were evident throughout. What really stood out to us, however, was the exceptional service and attention to detail shown by every staff member we encountered. The lodge went above and beyond to accommodate our dietary requirements, ensuring that our meals were carefully prepared with halal food options clearly highlighted. It felt as though the housekeeping team came and made up the rooms every time we stepped out.The spa treatments we booked were heavenly, providing the perfect relaxation after our exciting safari adventures. Overall, we were thoroughly impressed with Kapama River Lodge, and we would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an unforgettable safari experience. The staff's friendliness, warmth, and dedication to providing an exceptional guest experience truly set Kapama apart. Thank you to Tint, Eve, Ma Fridge, and the entire team for making our stay so special!

Phenomenal 5 star resort. Loved the attention to details, food and safari experiences! Other game drives at other resorts that we went to paled in comparison. Our head guide, Azaria and his crew , took their time to let you get close enough to experience all of the big 5 and many more! The spa service was exceptional . Well worth the money to go to a well run, luxury resort. Thanks to all who helped us have a wonderful time.

What a perfect safari experience! While I don’t really have any other safari experience, I can’t imagine a better place.||The grounds are beautiful. There are three pools, multiple dining rooms, a gym, a spa and the staff is amazing. The game drives have been outstanding. We have seen the big 5 and every other possible animal. The game drives have it all from coffee and hot chocolate in the morning to happy hour in the afternoon. ||We are with our two teenagers. We are in the family spa room, which would be fine for a family of four if the kids were younger. We have a second room for the kids. ||Perfect!

Kapama is amazing! It is all inclusive, has superb service, safaris and food. It is worth the money. You really get what you see in the pictures. The people that work there are great too. It is luxurious, but friendly. The safaris are mind blowing. Our guide Give and assistant Blessing were so knowledgeable and went the extra mile to give us the best experience ever. It is not crowded where you are annoyed either. It’s just perfect. Highly recommend!!

We had an amazing experience during our 3-day stay at Kapama River Lodge. Our guide/ranger and tracker, Happiness and Fanie were really amazing and experienced in the game drives - we were able to see the Big Five twice across the 6 game drives included in our stay. The hotel is very comfortable and has everything you need to enjoy the day between the drives. We had a good experience with the food in all meals - some better than others, but good overall. Service at lunch could be a bit slow compared to other meals but not a huge problem. Come prepared for the windy and cold game drives, especially during winter. Once the sun goes down in the afternoon drive or before it really heats up in the morning, it’s tough, but they try to help with blankets and hot water bags. Anyhow, have your strongest coats and jackets ready. The guides were experienced and kept us calm even when a pack of lions was literally around us and our cars - a breathtaking experience. Every staff member was very attentive and always ready to help. Within the reserve, you can see some of the wildlife but the real fun happens during the drives. Make sure you notice to your guide what you want to see and they will try their best to support it. We had one drink and didn’t like it, but the wine menu has great options - we only drank what was included, none of the exclusive list options. The spa prices are expensive - I ended up not using it.

Kapama River Lodge exceeded our expectations with its fabulous staff, delicious food and drinks, luxurious well-being centre, and calm surrounds. On safari with our very personable and knowledgeable guide, Lance, we enjoyed beautiful sunrises and sunsets and got up very close to all of the Big 5 plus more. Blankets and hot water bottles inside the very comfortable open top safari vehicle created a feeling of being very well cared for by our hosts.

We found Kapama Game Lodge online and booked purely based on the amazing reviews. Having never done a safari before, we did not know what to expect. But this place far exceeded anything we could have imagined. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality was exceptional. The staff greet you warmly, always with a smile, and genuinely go out of their way to make sure you are having a great stay. The atmosphere is welcoming and friendly, and everyone from the front desk to the housekeeping team seems happy to be there, which makes all the difference. The food was another unexpected highlight. The lodge is all inclusive, with multiple restaurants across the property, and every meal was gourmet quality. Normally, with all you can eat setups, the food can be hit or miss, but at Kapama, everything is cooked to order, beautifully presented, and delicious. There is a wide variety to choose from, and every dish we tried was excellent. And of course, the safari experience itself was truly unforgettable. We were lucky enough to see the Big Five and enjoyed some of the best wildlife viewing we could have hoped for. Even other guests in our vehicle commented on how rare and special our sightings were. A huge shoutout to our incredible guide Tervin and tracker Thomas, who not only skillfully tracked the animals but also shared fascinating insights about them along the way. This was a true bucket list experience, and I cannot recommend Kapama enough. If you are considering booking, do it. You will not find a better introduction to safari anywhere else.

It was a wonderful vacation. The game drives in particular were great. Our guides Nevermind and Themba were amazing. Friendly, very keen to please everyone and with endless knowledge about the animals, tracks and landscape. We saw the big five after the third drive, plus lots of cubs (giraffe, rhino, elephant, buffalo, zebra). All it took was the magic gin :-) The entire facility and the food were also very nice. One tiny point of criticism. Our coffee machine did not work and was not replaced or repaired despite the announcement that it would be taken care of.
