Kapama River Lodge

We were absolutely thrilled with our stay at this hotel located right in the heart of the safari park. Everything exceeded our expectations, and we truly loved every moment of this unique experience. The food was delicious, with a good variety and excellent quality. The people were incredibly kind, welcoming, and always happy to help, which made our stay even more enjoyable. We went on safari twice a day and were amazed by how many wild animals we were able to see. It was an unforgettable experience — even monkeys came to visit our balcony, which made our stay feel truly special and close to nature. Overall, this was an incredible experience that we will remember for a long time. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for something unique and unforgettable.

We enjoyed a wonderful trip in Southern Africa, and this lodge was def a highlight! I'm not easy to please and this segment of our trip met all expectations and then some! Beautiful rooms, huge bathrooms, wonderful staff and amazing guides.||The guides made sure we saw everything and then some. During our evening drives, the stars were unreal. We did have some "misty" weather one day, but were provided ponchos, but it was better than hot weather. The guides provided great instructions so we were never concerned with our safety and we learned so much. The first thing I thought, after our trip, is that I'd like to bring our family on this trip when our grandsons are older, so I need to stay in shape so I can climb in and out of the jeep!||At some point in each drive, both morning and evening, we'd stop for a break...usually about 45 minutes before the end of the drive. There were snacks and drinks, but no "real" bathrooms, so the men enjoyed themselves and most of the women watched their liquid intake! ||I wish I knew, before our last day (we spent three nights) that we could have had lunch (and perhaps breakfast) outside by the pool. ||We enjoyed six of eight game drives at Kapama, and the entire experience was a 10 out of 10. If you knew me, you'd know how unique that comment is!!! Because it was a part of a bigger trip we booked in Southern Africa, I have no idea how much we spent but every penny was worth it!

This was a great game reserve, recommended to us by a very helpful Zené at safari.com. From the minute we were picked up at the airport we were made to feel special. We were a bit sceptical to see the entrance opposite Hoedspruit airport but we needn’t have worried. In fact we had a mini 20 min safari on the way to and from the lodge as well as the game drives.||We saw all the big 5 and a shout out to Hancho (so knowledgable) & Bright for extending our night safari by half an hour just so we could see a leopard, which made our day. Special mention to Gloria, the nicest waitress in the world and to the ever smiling Johannes.||The resort is luxurious but without any pretence, which we really liked and the game drives were 10/10 - couldn’t recommend this high enough!

This place is magic! It feels like home away from home. Service is professional and with impeccable attention to detail. You feel pampered and cared for. The location itself is beautiful. The safari game team (Fanny and Rachel) were simply awesome! Staff in general are just wonderful to be around. We felt so nostalgic to leave. We have traveled to so many countries and places but Kapama now has a special place in our heart.

Went on a last minute trip for NYE. My family and I had the time of our lives. Leaving was so hard for us. My daughter enjoyed the pool and very surprisingly, the safari rides as well. Rachel and Fani were the best guides we have had on Safari. They are a dynamic duo!! We look forward to our return.

One friggin awesome experience we had there. The staff, game drives, and facilities were top notch. We saw over 15 various animals including the Big 5 and would highly recommend this lodge to anyone wanting to experience Africa at its best.

Once in a lifetime experience. Wild African animals, knowledgeable guides and trackers, 5 star opulence, fantastic staff, and expansive menu (for special diets.) Thank you Kapana for a once in a lifetime luxury experience.

We had an excellent safari experience. We also don’t eat meat and they took great care to make sure we had menu options. The staff is attentive. We were with a group and they made sure we could sit together.
