"Named after the Japanese term “to cut and to cook”, Kappo is a restaurant with an elegance and intimate ambience that come as a pleasant surprise. At the helm here is chef Tiago Penão, who has extensive experience working in leading restaurants. His skill and his respect for his ingredients are clearly evident, as he expertly combines the traditional and contemporary in his cuisine, resulting in precise and extraordinary dishes. Alongside his team, he brings great passion to his Omakase menu, which is complemented by an array of à la carte options (nigiri, sashimi, temaki etc). The highlight of the space is the dining counter, where guests can appreciate the synchronised preparation of dishes to the full, although other dining tables are laid out around it. A unique dining experience!" - Michelin Inspector

The best omakaze & sushi experience i’ve had in Portugal, and to be honest top 3 ever. Everything was absolutely delicious. We loved the mix of warm proper dishes, with the lighter sashimi & nigiris. Recommend adding the temaki & wagyu add ons. Well done guys, was really really impressed.

Incredible dinner, easily Michelin star level. Service was fantastic, chefs were meticulous and very professional. The food was out of this world, you'll have tastes here that you've never experienced before and that's the sign of a special restaurant. Get the additional caviar because they work this into the dishes in the Omakase menu rather than it being served on the side separately, it really adds to the experience. The atmosphere is ever so slightly serious but then it's quite an intimate setting being so close to the chefs. So i think it's better this way than it being noisy and jovial, a great place for couples to go and eat in. We'll most certainly be back.

What a great place! We celebrated our wedding anniversary here and it was just amazing! The food was so fresh, so tasty and amazing every time! The service was great and friendly. We enjoyed this experience very much and want to thank the whole team for all the hard work they put into this place!

Probably the best experience I had this year. The quality of the Food is well highlighted and paired with the best wine, most of the time local. It is a full experience, Trust me, a worthwile one.

Ordered the omakase for 2 that currently is priced at 130€ a person, without drink pairings. I believe this covers 6 different tastings and each tastings offered a few different fishes within. While I was not totally full after the meal, I was satisfied. It would have been nice to been offered/asked for additional items such as a roll or something. Most of the fishes were locally sourced for Portugal, accept for the tuna that came from Spain and I really was happy to hear that. For the actual dishes served, they were truly all phenomenal and could not be more happier with the quality. My only slight gripe was the atmosphere was a bit dry and not as fun as I’d want, more of a business transactional feel. Expect prompt service, but with a serious face, rather than a laid back smiling type of service. I’d still come back anytime as the food is that good!

A great omakase experience that focuses on more than just sushi. A beautiful restaurant space and really great staff. The food was so plentiful, it was fantastic value. The courses were full of flavor from different cooking methods and preparations. Generous portions on courses, such as the wagyu beef tongue. The snack bites of the tartare cannelloni and ankimo mochi taste were absolutely insane. The broths for the courses were wonderful too. Easily worth a visit from Lisbon.

We went for dinner, the overall experience was nice although I do wish there was more nigiri in the tasting, as most of the dishes were underwhelming not bad but not memorable. I went there when they first opened and must say I enjoyed their initial menu much more. Their sake menu is nice but with much too big margins compared to other places with a sake list (180 euros compared to 105 euros in other restaurants for the same bottle we chose)

Such an excellent experience. Luxurious, great flavour profiles, knowledgeable chefs, good ambience. No wonder it got a Michelin. 100€ pp.
