Westfield Stratford Restaurants: Food at Westfield Stratford City - Eater London

"An offshoot of the popular Baltic bakery in Borough Market, not only is the rye bread delicious and fresh but there are options to take away all sorts of loaves and cakes for a quick snack." - Shekha Vyas

This humble Eastern European bakery hides the best rye breads you can get in London. I had the delicious honey walnut cake, the raspberry pistachio swirl and a loaf of Namine bread, which is dense and aromatic because of the caraway seeds inside. All delicious and will come back especially for the rye. I toast them for breakfast and it makes my day.

+ 5 stars for food! My partner is from Eastern Europe and he spotted that the bakery has specific breads he is familiar with in his country. As we were also looking for a place to take a tea break, we bought a Borodinsky’s bread for takeaway and also Napoleon cake, Peach cheese cake and a cup of tea for eat in. The place can’t be fancier as they only have tables in an open space in Westfield, but we definitely enjoyed the cakes and tea. Also the bread is pretty tasty too. I wish it was a little closer to my home, going to this shop is a bit of journey. But I would like to try other breads too next time when I’m nearby.

Small Eastern European bakery with fresh and delicious rye breads. Buying there Borodinsky bread all the time. And my absolute favourite is Vatrushka with blueberries or peaches. I would also suggest trying Apple Cinnabon or Pistachio and Raspberry Rolls. I feel that honey cakes are way too small for that price. The place is usually crowded during the weekend and there is usually no place to sit as they have just couple of tables. But you can always have a take away option.

Their fruit rye is delicious, but after you taste the Borodinsky bread from Karaway Bakery, you won't want to eat any other bread ever again. ❤️ Catch "happy hour" at the end of the day and get 30% off. It's just to the right of the entrance to Waitrose on the lower ground floor. Staff always charming ❤️ If you can't make Stratford Westfield, look for it in Wholefoods Market, or Ocado. However, if you buy your bread here, you can get it sliced to the thickness of your choice and, if a whole loaf is too much (as if!!), then it's possible to buy half a loaf. In fact, a great idea would be to get half of one type of bread, together with half of another - why didn't I think of that before??

I brought one of the pastries with cheese filling and blueberries and I must say I expected better taste from an artisan bakery. It tasted like any mass produced pastry from supermarkets in Central or Eastern Europe. The bread I went for is called Grandmother's loaf (Or something like it). It's a pity I couldn't choose my own one, but rather one of the shopping assistants put it into a bag and brought it to the till. I understand the rye breads are denser than white wheat loaves, but the whole bread is way too soggy (including the crust) and dense. Not my cup of tea, especially considering the price.

I take an hour detour just to shop there, simply my favourite bakery ever. Everything is done with extremely high quality, the pastries, the different types of bread, just amazing! I'd recommend the rye bread and blueberry vatrushka. The ladies the serve you are very lovely too. It's a shame they do not have more shops around London!

Google
Good bread fundamentally. However, I've never managed to buy a fresh loaf here - they are always stale by the point they're on sale. I've given them more than a fair number of chances, and now I'm giving up on attempting to get fresh bread here - I shan't be coming back again.

Yelp
Very good bakery inside Westfield Stratford. I had a Lithuanian Rye Dark Bread which was really good and at a fair price. Service was rather good and my bread was also sliced for me.
