Karl August - a Neighborhood Hotel (Nuremberg, Bavaria) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"At the Karl August, it’s commonplace to sip your coffee beside locals or chat with a German family while waiting your turn at the Bonbon Ice Cream Bar. The boutique hotel, located off a pedestrian-only promenade in Nuremberg’s lively Augustinerhof district, is as welcoming to the public as it is to guests — and with its sleek French brasserie, sunny all-day café, a one-MICHELIN-Star restaurant, and a branch of the popular Museum of the Future right next door, as appealing to both." - Tablet Hotels

You must check out the sauna, pool, and relaxation area on the top floor. Beautiful rooftop views of the city. Be sure to grab a seat right next to the river in the cafe, so relaxing to watch it flow as you sip coffee and eat breakfast.

The Karl August hotel provided a very pleasant experience for us during out stay In Nuremberg. It's rooms are modern/industrial "chic" and very spacious with a large table in the middle which we found very useful. The breakfasts are just the right amount of pastries, cheeses, meats, etc. and the breakfast cafe overlooks the Pegnitz river providing a very tranquil start to the day. The concierges at the front desk are top-notch and looked after our every request cheerfully and expeditiously. The hotel is centrally located in Nuremberg allowing us to walk from the Albrecht Durer museum to the Handwerkerhof area all the way across town and to also enjoy a large array of possible restaurant choices. The Karl August really made our stay in Nuremberg easy and memorable.

We stayed in a junior suite with river view to celebrate our anniversary and we really enjoyed our stay. The best parts were, ➡️ Great bed, great views. ➡️ Coffee and tea in the room. ➡️They gave us hot drink vouchers to use at the bakery on the ground floor. The downsides were, ➡️ Loud music until around 1am, which apparently is common if staying in the old town. ➡️ Heating was only working in the bathroom, the rest of the room was very cold. Tried moving the settings but didn’t work. ➡️ Very soft pillows (we usually need more support). ➡️We had dinner at the Brasserie and service was extremely slow. ➡️We were denied a window table at breakfast stating that our party was not large enough, only to sit an older couple there ten minutes later. Overall I would return, and would recommend 👍🏼

Very central to the vibrant old town. Convenient to city and train station. Minimalist in design and function. Trendy and slightly upscale. Recommend the ||breakfast- include it if you can- picturesque right on the river. . Pool, sauna and fitness area a plus.||Clean rooms and efficient design- you can even open up the windows. Slight minuses-no phone in rooms and no concierge to speak of & exposed concrete wall in room. Pleasant, helpful staff. Can’t go wrong. What a pleasant experience we had for 4 nights!

We had a very pleasant stay. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and everything was well maintained. The staff were also very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was generous and fresh. The location is ideal: quiet, yet within walking distance of the city center. Extra highlights were the free use of the swimming pool and sauna, and the convenient underground parking just across the street. Highly recommended!

Beautiful modern hotel designed perfectly. Location is fantastic.||Loved every aspect except one entire morning there was not hot water at all. They have no warning even though issue started night before. They offered no compensation such as breakfast at checkout even when they apologized and acknowledged the issue

We had a wonderful stay at Karl August as a family of three and loved everything about it. Service, design, atmosphere, they were all spot on. It made us wish there were more Karl August locations across Germany or Europe to enjoy. Only small note: the spa pool could be a touch warmer. Otherwise, perfect!

Location: very central and convenient, good parking right under the hotel. ||Nice (if rather on a small side) hotel lobby, with tea and coffee and comfortable seating.||Rooms: average size but functional and comfortable, bonus if you have windows facing the river (our were on the side street). Separate shower room and toilet. Average size but comfortable beds.||We have not tried the spa, but it looked nice from the outside.||Breakfast: very tasty (particularly bacon), good selection of breads, fresh fruit and juice but average coffee.||Little on the expensive side (comparing to other similar places) but worth a bit extra.
