Karl August - a Neighborhood Hotel (Nuremberg, Bavaria) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"At the Karl August, it’s commonplace to sip your coffee beside locals or chat with a German family while waiting your turn at the Bonbon Ice Cream Bar. The boutique hotel, located off a pedestrian-only promenade in Nuremberg’s lively Augustinerhof district, is as welcoming to the public as it is to guests — and with its sleek French brasserie, sunny all-day café, a one-MICHELIN-Star restaurant, and a branch of the popular Museum of the Future right next door, as appealing to both." - Tablet Hotels

This might be the nicest hotel I’ve ever stayed in. The location is spot on. Easy to walk to anything in town. The ambiance was something straight out of a Hallmark movie. Every time we passed through the lobby people were enjoying the space as if they were sitting in their living room, which made it feel like home. Our room was fantastic, complete with all the amenities you’d need. We enjoyed a great dinner in the restaurant while sitting at the bar and the staff was spectacular. My experience at Karl August might be the highlight of my 3 week vacation in Europe! Yes, it was that good.

We came back after last year experience and were as happy as the first time :) Great location - X-mas market right around the corner, but still quite calm. Beautiful spacious rooms, very clean. Nice gym. Welcoming atmosphere. Quite comfortable to park. Definitely recommend to stay here :)

We had a wonderful stay at the Karl August. Our room was comfortable, clean, and spacious. The hotel is ideally located for exploring Nuremberg’s fabulous Christmas Market. The breakfast was of a high quality, and there are plenty of good restaurants nearby. We would happily stay here again!

The location is fantastic. The lobby area was beautiful (however is was filled by people from the coffee shop - not hotel guests). People sleeping on the sofa, etc. Most of the non-guests just used the free toilet in the lobby. Many non-guests filled the lounge and guests had no place to sit. The room was ok, sterile and spartan. Kinda like a prison cell with a nice bathroom. Staff was great! Location Location Location!

Overall, we had a pleasant stay at the hotel. Although our visit was brief before Christmas, we were able to see the main highlights and enjoy the facilities. We particularly appreciated the hotel’s architecture and design.||The spa was the highlight of our stay and a wonderful place to relax. We would especially like to mention Frau Siegl, who provided an excellent massage and truly enhanced our experience with her professionalism and skill. The spa facilities were clean and well maintained; however, the absence of permanent staff sometimes led to minor disturbances, which slightly affected the otherwise relaxing atmosphere.||Room amenities were quite basic for the price level, with only shampoo and shower gel provided. Slippers were available upon request, but items such as conditioner, body lotion, or a minibar were missing. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would happily return, though likely not during the Christmas period, as the experience did not fully justify the higher seasonal rates.

Had a wonderful stay at Karl August whilst visiting Nuremberg Christmas Markets. The markets are literally a minute walk away yet our family room was silent and comfortable. The room is well appointed in a modern style and the linen and bed was very comfortable. Cannot fault this wonderful hotel and would be my first choice when I return.

Great location in Nuremberg and our room had an incredible view. Although not the fault of the hotel or staff, the people in the room next to us were so loud and disruptive that we had to request a different room. The staff was so accommodating they allowed us to sleep in another room for the night but leave our things in our original room so we didn’t have to repack move everything. The restaurant in the hotel was fantastic.

If you are going for the Christmas Markets in Nuremberg, this is a perfect place to stay. The included breakfast was a feast! Eggs to order with bacon, plus a bread basket, yogurt, fruit, juice cheese and meat plus spreads. Caffe attached. Very quiet place. Loved it!
