Karls Hotel

Not a looker from the outside but it’s new and modern with a nice easy car park. It’s worth booking the room with the balcony, we didn’t and we wish we had. The location is really excellent; there’s an Aldi supermarket right across the road and we left our car in the car park whilst we went to the Schloß in town. On Saturday night the hotel restaurant was closed and on Sunday everything in town was closed so we did manage to get the hotel reception to book a table at their own restaurant a 10 min walk away called the Boathouse. That was super helpful and tasty. Rooms were small sized ish but completely clean and comfortable. Very convenient.

Great stay and an amazing breakfast. The room would have benefited from a second chair but that’s about the only complaint. The sauna and jacuzzi were nice surprises as was the candy jar at reception! Highly recommended!!

Outstanding Hotel! Outstanding Service! Outstanding Location. We spent a night here when visiting Sigmaringen. The customer service though out our stay was excellent. Everyone was so friendly. We had a great room. Very comfortable. Outside in the back offers great views of the Castle. So much to do in this area from hiking, biking, and sightseeing. It was so peaceful along the water watching the ducks and swans and seeing the castle. Great breakfast in the morning. We loved our stay! Highly recommend Karls Hotel.

I highly recommend staying at Karls Hotel for those traveling to Sigmaringen. The staff were so kind and considerate. Breakfast was fresh and delicious. I recall an impressive morning walk I took.

The employees were extremely helpful, and all spoke English, since my German is very rusty. The room was great. Ours had a toilet separate from the shower. My only small complaint, which I did address with the staff, was the fact that the thermostat was tied to the door to the balcony. This is to prevent people from wasting heat/AC by leaving the door open. If the door is open, the thermostat is disabled. This was fine, except when we went out on the balcony, and came back, we shut the door, but the thermostat did not unlock. At 11 at night, a staff member had to come upstairs and make a call to someone else to reset the thermostat. Not a big deal, but a bit inconvenient.

Super clean and modern hotel. Very competent and warm and personal check in. Very well thought through use of space in hotel rooms. Excellent beds with comfortable doonas and pillows. Windows that open!!! for fresh air in addition to available aircon (very important to me). Superb breakfast buffet with tasty and healthy options throughout. Nice bar, good wine. Lovely terrace to sit outside and enjoy the fantastic view across the Danube to the Castle. 5 minutes to walk across bridge into town. 5 minutes to walk to “Bootshaus” for tasty meal by the Danube river. Hotel rents e-bikes as well, which makes it a great base for cycling tours as well as hiking - as well as for business. A true highlight in this lovely town.

Beautiful location! The hotel is amazing, with a lovely garden right on the banks of the Danube River, directly across from the castle. The rooms are spacious, and those with a view of the castle feel like a dream! Breakfast was delicious, offering a wide variety of sweet and savory options. The only small downside is that a minibar/fridge is not included by default—you need to request it in advance and pay an additional fee.

The location of KARLS Hotel is unbeatable—directly overlooking the stunning Sigmaringen Castle. The view alone makes it worth the stay. Our room was comfortable, and the lobby felt warm and inviting. When we booked, I hadn’t noticed that parking was included, so it's worth checking their website or confirming ahead of time. If you’re not heading out early in the morning, I highly recommend their breakfast. The selection was impressive, and the dining area was spacious and relaxing. We stayed here after visiting Hohenzollern Castle and on our way to Neuschwanstein Castle. It turned out to be an ideal halfway stop between the two, breaking up the drive perfectly. Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates great views—especially if you love castles.
