"Karl Boerner, the name behind Karl’s Quality Bakery, opened his Phoenix store in 1994, after years spent in his native Germany, Switzerland, and California perfecting his craft. The bakery was designed to be a neighborhood place and it has been an essential part of the Sunnyslope area for 30 years. His daughter Christine now runs things, overseeing every ingredient that makes up their large selection. If you’re hosting guests, pick up one of their breakfast or pastry towers that will satisfy everyone in your group. You can’t go wrong with one of their custom cakes, either, like the hard to find Princess Torte." - Asonta Benetti, Bahar Anooshahr

Google
Heard good things so I dropped in to give it a go. I was NOT disappointed what so ever! The staff was friendly and quick. The bakery was clean and tidy. The baked goods were absolutely amazing! The spinach and cheese croissant was fantastic! The chocolate croissant was excellent as well. Probably the best sugar cookies I've ever had. And they were decorated beautifully too. I'll definitely be going back!

Google
I love little treats, one might say I'm always on the hunt for them. Came here while I had some time to kill and the eas no shortage of delicious looking treats to choose from. Had the apple danish and cherry turnover. These treats hit the spot!

Google
This was such a memorable and amazing birthday experience!!!! This was our impression of a Chick-fil-A cake made by Christine (who is absolutely amazing to work with and did her vision for this cake). It was a red velvet cream cheese cake and probably one of the best cakes I’ve ever had…. 25/15 will be coming here for everything! Thank YOU Karl’s Bakery!

Google
Lots of options here. Come early because many things sell fast. Better prices on cakes as well. Since Panera no longer sells the Brittany's or (the kouign amann or Breton), this place has kouignettes). Croissants are huge. Lemon was great too.

Google
How to positive experience here. Just came in to get a couple of little treats and the lady behind the counter was very nice. She and gave me a free Christmas cookie. The place was clean, she was very hygenic which I appreciate. I enjoyed my scone for breakfast.

Google
This place is amazing! High quality, affordable, personable and competent staff, and a wide variety of delicious treats! My boyfriend and I like to get up early and grab a box of pastries from them every few weeks as a special treat, and everything we've ever had there is just to die for. We discovered it when looking for a Swedish princess cake for my birthday, and it was incredible! I highly recommend this bakery, and of course we'll be back.

Google
Before I get started let me just say there customer service is TOP TEIR! They went above & beyond to have this order ready in a timely matter & when I had wait a few extra mins as they were extremely busy they added in some extra goodies for waiting. The cakes were SO delicious & adorable for a little girls 1st bday! You must try the spinach croissants, They are out of this world!!!

Patty L

Google
Love this place! The options are stellar- if you want any dessert, you can probably find it here. The muffins are amazing & so are the brownies. There's literally a chocolate lava muffin, which I've never seen before. Their decorated sugar cookies are a little hard & taste a little stale, but they are adorable. You have to visit this place- you will not regret it :)

Yelp
Came in here today to look around while I waited for my breakfast to be ready at Salvadoreño and I'm so glad I did! There is SO much to choose from here and it all looks delicious. I got my husband and I little Halloween cookies, mine was a ghost and my husbands was a bat. Service is great here, owner is super nice! Both cookies were very yummy! Would for sure stop in again.

Sue S.

Yelp
First time. OMG.... Shame on us!! What a beautiful bakery. Where does one start to choose? Left with a few items. Donuts, scones and eclairs. Can't wait to try everything. They are there 29 years!! The daughter has taken over the business!! I can't wait to return!!

Selenia P.

Yelp
This hole in the wall bakery has been around since the early/mid 90s. Everything is baked fresh and they have so many great options. From cupcakes to cookies to pies to cakes and breads... they have lots of seasonal baked goods too and everything looks amazing. Every time I come in here I just want to get one of each thing. Today I got some eclairs, macaroons and a fruit tart. They use all fresh ingredients in their tarts and I have yet to find another bakery that makes them this good within the vicinity. We always get good service here and they are really friendly and willing to recommend something if you just can't decide. Bonus is the few times I've been here they always throw in some extra seasonal cookies for free with our purchase. It is a little pricey (not much) but I truly feel that it's worth the quality of the items they have. If you are in the Sunnyslope area definitely pay them a visit and treat yourself to something sweet. It's ok to have a cheat day ;)

Yelp
This bakery is the real deal. Had the cherry cheese strudel yesterday and this am, it was perfect. Had the radio way or radio one yesterday, soooo good. Had the poppy seed French bread. It was perfect toasted with 2 fried eggs this morning. Will definitely be going back for all of our bakery needs. Love, Love, Love.

Anthony M.

Yelp
Place is not too bad. I've gotten a variety of their pastries (and still continuing to go). I'd say all I've gotten is kinda mid EXCEPT the glazed cinnamon roll, fudge brownie, & ham & cheese croissant are all gas, will still always come for these

Jasmine L.

Yelp
I've now been here twice. We came her on a late Sunday morning so some of the best items were gone or running low We were quickly greeted by a young man. He was pretty knowledgeable in the baked items and friendly to my 4 kids who asked questions. We opted for a wide variety of pastries and a cookie for the littlest one. The pastries were very fresh, crispy and tasty. They held up over the course of 3 days very nicely. I always forget this places exists but so glad it does. I'll def be trying to get here more fort.

Lea Ann P.

Yelp
Such a huge disappointment. My husband ordered a black Forrest cake for my birthday- a flavor I loved from my childhood. Unfortunately the cake was SO incredibly dry- it was almost completely inedible. I'm giving two stars because it was beautifully decorated, and the whipped frosting was good, but for an $80 cake, it was a complete waste. I have no idea if it was made way ahead of time and frozen or what, but it was DRY. My three family member and myself each had a piece, we ate the frosting and threw the rest away- including the remainder of the cake. So sad.

Michael H.

Yelp
Hands down the best bakery I have been too since leaving Bavaria. The breakfast rolls are amazing with flaky crust and filling which I had was apricot was scrumptious. They won't win the contest for most friendly but service is prompt and all around a gem.

Yelp
1.26.22: From the Picky AF Princess of Bakeries! I review yet another b/c I have an insatiable sweet tooth and I grew up in a family of bakers. My great grandmother owned her own bakery in NYC, so we were weaned on eating and baking good stuff! First off, this place is outta control on how many items are offered. Holy cannoli! (No cannoli but that's prob ONLY thing they don't have) Their staff was superb in answering my many questions, looking up ingredients and names. I learned that these adorable little star cookies are called "zimsterne." They're traditional German cookies made with almond flour & cinnamon, so cute little Gluten Free spice cookies. I love their cakes b/c they're stunningly simple in design but exquisitely unusual with flavors. Need to order one to actually taste! *Cakes: Dulce de Leche, Chocolate Parisian, Pink Champagne, Strawberry Diplomat Cake & more *Cookies: Florentines, Linzer Tarts, Sugar Cookies (w/ irreverent Valentine messages), Zimsterne (German Cinnamon Stars) & more *Danish: Cheese, Lemon Ricotta, Bavarian Cream Strawberry Compote & more *Donuts: Cake, Glazed & Raised (made with yeast!), & more *Muffins: Blueberry, Raspberry, & more *Pastries: Gator Bars, Strudel & more They sold me on the Bavarian Cream Strawberry Compote Danish: flakey buttery pastry, phenomenal filling combo of fruit w/ light cream = party in my mouth! I asked if they had Kringle (a pastry from Wisconsin) & they didn't as it tends to be carried around Christmas. But they told me about the Gator Bar, layers of pastry, with a thin spread of caramel in between, topped off by pecans. I bought one of the half priced bars (b/c they sell items cheaper after a few days) - it was kind of dry, still flavorful but not "all that." Wish i'd just sprung for a full price Gator! Karl's was giving away one free donut to customers who bought a regular priced item - donuts that were misshapen but nothing wrong with the taste. I'm not usually a donut fan but my cake donut w/ chocolate glaze & peanut topping was delish & I devoured it in minutes, so no pic. I left with one Danish, one Gator Bar & my free Donut. Stoked for all this deliciousness & can't wait to order one of their cakes for upcoming event!

Yelp
This bakery has been around forever and is so good!! My mom always ordered cakes and desserts for our family from here. I now bring my kids here too. So yummy!! The coconut raspberry bars are delicious .

Sara M.

Yelp
I had been to Karl's a few years back but honestly don't even remember what we had or if we liked it. We were in the area and wanted a little sweet treat and stopped in. The girl working up front was super helpful and friendly. They have frozen cakes, muffins, cookies, donuts, pie, bars and their infamous iced sugar cookies. Seriously a good selection of a little bit of everything. We got a couple cookies, donuts, and a cupcake. The sugar cookies are FABULOUS!! We all loved them as they were not too sweet and tasted so fresh. Their donuts were good tasting but the cupcake tasted freezer burnt. I understand cakes have to be frozen to keep up with demand but think these were in too long or uncovered. Overall, the place was clean, employees were super friendly and we will absolutely be back for more of those delicious cute sugar cookies!!

Mandy T.

Yelp
I came here a couple Sundays ago near closing. They were out of apple fritters. I loved the things I ended up getting and I wish I remembered all their names. I will find out and update this review. I believe one was the blueberry granola danish and another was the Lemon Basil Kronut.

Beth H.

Yelp
Still the best, even more than 20 years later. I live in Michigan, but wanted to order a special cake for my mom's birthday. First outreach was an email. I received a response within 24 hours. Then a follow up call from Stephanie to make sure I got a response. I wasn't ready to order yet but my call the next day was super easy to order an 8" white cake with white whipped frosting (instead of buttercream) topped with beautiful buttercream flowers, for my mom's birthday. Her birthday passed a couple weeks ago, but still wanted to get her a cake. I made a plan to have my pop take her up there to pickup the cake but not tell her where they were going. Karl's Quality Bakery has been out go-to for sweet treats since they were in 7th Ave and Dunlap years ago. Still that amazing quality and now with plenty more wonderful items to choose from in their bakery case. Highly recommended. Fair prices, wonderful service, quality work and very personable. We love love love them. Highly recommended.

Jon L.

Yelp
Are the pastries delicious? Super delicious. Are there a large variety? So many. Is the lady very rude and the place open from 6-2 Tuesday through Friday? And sometimes not even that? Absolutely.

Norm W.

Yelp
First time at Karl's Bakery at their new location. Nice store and perfect for that special treat. If you don't special order you can improvise. Started with Banana Cream Pie, but none available. Second choice was the Apple Pie. Then I heard a voice in the back say French Apple still hot. Asked about it and took home a warm French Apple Tart. What a special treat. Enjoyed by everyone. Great service and a quality product.

Rachel K.

Yelp
Truly a incredible gem! We got a mix of baked goods while staying at a hotel nearby for a staycation. We were greeted by the welcoming staff. The almond horn and blueberry scones were amazing. Highly recommend this bakery!

Casandra R.

Yelp
I absolutely love the pastries from here! Haven't tried the cakes yet, but I'm really excited too. The price is justified for the high quality taste you get. Highly recommend any berry pastries. The first bite will have you hooked! I wished they opened 1 hour earlier / close an hour later, so I could have enough time to pick some up before or after work. Overall... this place is worth it!

Patty P.

Yelp
I ordered a 7" dulce de leche cake for my 70th birthday. I love dulce de leche in any type of pastry. When I picked up the cake, I was told the baker had made an 8" cake by mistake. Ok I said. HOWEVER, when we cut into the cake at home, it had apples. It wasn't until some days later that I checked my credit card upon which I had been charged when ordering on the phone. It said $63. When I ordered cake, I had asked the price. She said $68. I called Karl's and the woman was adamant that I ordered the apple spice cake. I don't even like apples in pastries. I felt she was rude to me and kept saying that I ordered the apple spice cake. Then she just hung up. I just read in a previous review that you stand behind your cakes. What does that mean?? I had to argue with the woman on the phone that the apple spice cake was not what I ordered. Dear Customers, verify what you are getting before leaving the store. I got no receipt that said what I ordered...and I prepaid for it.

Christina H.

Yelp
I have been coming to this bakery for almost 2 decades; the Pastries are amazing!! They remind me and my family of our time overseas in Germany when we were stationed there. We appreciate the effort put into creating such yummy treats -- Europeans know Pastries the best, and Karl's is no exception!

Alisha M.

Yelp
Best bakery in AZ! Worked here about 2 years ago my mom absolutely fell in love with the blueberry pie !!! You can tell the bakery takes pride in everything they do !!

Alicia G.

Yelp
I have been huge on supporting local businesses throughout the pandemic. Due to my sweet tooth I've researched bakeries in the valley to help satisfy my craving. Karl's seem to have raving reviews and is close to home. My first attempt was not the best experience. I walked in and no one spoke to me. Which I thought was odd not to at least get a simple "hello!" I ended up leaving as that was not the most comfortable experience. The second time I was greeted immediately and purchased a variety of cookies. The ones I tried I was not a fan of but my family was impressed. I will give them another try in the future to see if my tasting experience is better and possibly try some of the other creations. The shop is located in a shopping strip mall with lots of parking. The bakery has a variety of bake goods in a appealing refrigerated case. The establishment is clean.

Zach H.

Yelp
Nice people working there and a good selection of sweets. The apple fritter was delicious. The brownies were just ok. The filled doughnut was very good. I'd good back. I would not drive across town for it again though.

Jacob M.

Yelp
I bought a pink champagne cake for my moms birthday. As soon as she took a bite she spat it out. Said the cake was horrible and not even worth the cardboard box it was carried in.

Dong T.

Yelp
Love this establishment. Locally owned, everything always so fresh, tasty, and elegant. The current owner Christine works so hard to keep the place in tip top shape. If you're looking to have your pick(s) of the amazing selection, come early because they fly out the door. Unfortunately because it is on the opposite direction of my route to work, I do not get the opportunity to frequent this place as often as I'd like to, however, my 3 visits there have NEVER disappointed. On one of my visits here, I picked up a heaping to bring into work for the work crew and everyone loved it, asking where this bakery is located. One of them stopped by that weekend after trying to pick up some goodies for her family. I try to use word of mouth to make more people aware of this place. The baked goods are HOMESTYLE. Meaning, it's no nonsense, buttery, sweet, decadent, and what you expect out of your grandma's kitchen. None of that trendy flourless, non dairy, gluten free, whatchamacallits.

Megan T.

Yelp
Very first Thing I noticed upon walking in was the incredible sweet smell. The cases had lots of options. I was bummed that by 9:30 am the maple donuts were sold out, the rest seemed full. The ladies working were wearing masks (correctly) and were patient as I mentioned it was my first time and not sure what to get. I was directed toward one pastry that they said was just baked fresh but went with an apple turnover instead. I'd give the turnover 3/5, dry and very light on filling but good overall flavor. I probably should've tried the one they were offering. I also got a Bismarck donut which was good (4/5) and 2 cookies. Overall experience was good, I like supporting local businesses, and I would definitely want to try some of the other baked goods they have.

Starr S.

Yelp
I ordered a mix of cookies for my daughter's birthday/playdate. The cookies were beautiful but they were dry as if they were made a couple of days before I picked them up. I have heard great things about Karl's and am willing to give them one more try. I support a family-owned business in the valley.

Jami L.

Yelp
Outstanding Bakery! I've lived all over the world and spent a lot of time in Europe. I'm pretty picky when it comes to baked items and prefer "real" food. Karl's is amazing. They use real ingredients, no preservatives and everything you buy there is incredible. This is NOT Walmart or Safeway or Fry's where everything is cheap and stuffed with junk ingredients. It's a little more expensive but quality is what you pay for here. I'd prefer a real butter, flakey croissant over one from Safeway/Fry's/Walmart not even made with butter. Everything we have bought from here has been outstanding. We love the alligators, carrot cake, cookies, brownies and croissants. We would give this place 10 stars if we could as Karl's truly delivers authentic, FINE baked goods.

Lakshmi M.

Yelp
So glad that I randomly dropped by this place with some friends when we were searching for a cafe to hang out in. First off the interior is on the small side, but everything inside looks absolutely delicious! I had a hard time figuring out what to get and went with a cinnamon roll -- which was giant by the way -- and a small eclair (gotta balance those portions~). Both items were delicious, but I really loved the eclair and want to drop by again just to grab some more of them! This place has a very authentic feel to it as do the employees. Service was swift and friendly and the baked goods were delicious so I really cannot complain. There is limited seating inside and a few tables/chairs outside as well! Definitely drop by and grab some goodies!

Valerie M.

Yelp
Am honest to goodness bakery near/in Sunnyslope. They make some decadent desserts, pastries, cookies, quiche, croissants and gluten free items too. Been enjoying delicious baked goods from them for several years and have never been dissapointed, nor have the recipients (my vet office, Heather at CK, family, etc.) of the goodies I've delivered. Wish they were located in the East Valley. They have a rewards program which could be beneficial IF I remembered to use it every time cuz the person I pay doesn't always ask. And I spend $50+ just walking through the door. Those tasty rewards would be very welcome.

Leanne M.

Yelp
Not bad donuts, but a little average. I found the chocolate croissant to be a little heavy. The chocolate was not bitter and lifted the heaviness croissant The apple fritter was a delight to eat. I am not a fan of apple fritters but I did find this good to eat. The kronuts didn't grab me at all. The group loved the apple strudel

Lauren A.

Yelp
This place reminds me of some of the bakeries of my childhood....the Italian bakeries with displays full of colorful cookies and cakes. I'm disappointed it took me so long to find this place. When we first walked in we were overwhelmed with the smells and overwhelming selections. The display cases were full of all types of cookies and pastries and donuts. They had incredible trays and containers full of iced Christmas cookies that we couldn't resist. Not only are the beautiful and co,or full they are so delicious. I can't stop eating them. We also picked up a Parisian cream pie which was a delightful chocolate cream pie. I wasn't a fan of the crust which was a little hard but the filling was decadent. We also grabbed a few donuts which were tasty. My jelly donut actually had too much jelly in it as if that is possible. Being able to walk in this bakery just 2 days before Christmas without placing a previous order and being able to choose from such a huge selection was amazing. This will certainly become our go to bakery.

Monica J.

Yelp
I was looking for a good local bakery and I came upon this place. Everything I ordered was, fresh and amazing. The service was great. I will definitely return!

George E.

Yelp
I happened across this place last night on the internet. During the holidays, I am always looking for unique and savory treats to send to those small business's who have helped my business thoughout the year. Our goal is to select a small businesses who produce GOOD food and make you excited to try their creations. It is important to thank ALL members of the business that support us and not just the owner. We try to feed their appetites while pleasing their souls with a smile. I hope I have found this years purveyor in Karl's Quality Bakery. They do homemade breads, customized cookies / cakes and making a presentation that will deliver a smile. Their food has an attitude and followed up with flavor. The cookies, cakes, breads, pastries are delicious and unique. Today, we stopped and picked up an almond and chocolate croissant along with a raspberry donut. The light sugar dusting of the donut was perfect. The raspberry filling was delicious. The croissants were very light and very tasty. I cannot wait for the holidays and working with Karl's Quality Bakery to say thanks to those business owners who make my life better. If you are in Phoenix, stop in and pick up some tasty baked goods at Karls.

Bonita M.

Yelp
I will go back and order something else. Some things need to be warm to enjoy. I have heard this is a good bakery. What I ordered did not taste good. The place looked clean and all items in case looked well made.

Kristina B.

Yelp
Quality ingredients and great customer experience! They have gluten free items as well.

N K.

Yelp
Disappointed twice. Stopped in on a Sunday morning and received a dry stale poppyseed pastry. Our cupcakes were previously frozen (admittedly by the staff) and frostbitten. The owner was very nice and said we could come back for a refund. Decided to come back for the refund and reinvest in the place to give them another try. Disappointed with the items again. Bummer because the reviews were so positive.

Barbara L.

Yelp
I've been going to Karl's Bakery for over 15 years, in their older bakery site which included homemade chocolate candies too. In the current Bakery it's the best pies, cakes macaroons, danish, pastries, frosted cookies & much more, but not the candy. That's ok, because everything there is fabulous, as long as your not dieting!!

Diana C.

Yelp
My favorite bakery! Everything from there is delicious. The fruit tarts are the best, I wish they had them all the time

Linda A.

Yelp
This was an amazing find! We got some Easter cookies and hot crossed buns (delicious) and their once a year Kennedy quiche which was so creamy and delicious. Prices are fit for a real high quality bakery, so you need to understand that this isn't Safeway or Fry's--this is the real deal and so happy I found it!

Caletta G.

Yelp
Would love to give Karl's a higher rating because their food is so wonderful and is well worth the cost. However, I can only give 3stars because of inconsistency in customer service (ie. me showing up when they open to wait a half hour because food isn't ready and/or unprofessional attitudes of some of the staff). I really want to continue to give Karl's my business, yet if the customer service doesn't improve, I'll seek out another bakery.

Elise D.

Yelp
The first thing that hits you is the amazing aroma. And the taste is as appetizing to match! I keep going back for the almond croissant and my son is in it for the donuts and cookies. I have my next birthday cake all picked out and it will be tiramisu. I can't wait to try it.

Lisa M.

Yelp
I special ordered a birthday cake from Karl's the staff was very friendly and accommodated my special request. The cake was beautifully decorated and I was very excited to serve it at the party. When we went to cut the cake it was so dense we could barely get a knife through it. It was almost like a chocolate pound cake. For the price I was expecting a moist delicious cake and was very disappointed.

Nora H.

Yelp
The best freshest, warmest apple fritters are at 7 or shortly after it opens. Loaded with apples they are really good. Not heavy in sugar glaze. The cookies now have prices on them

Sherri C.

Yelp
I purchased french macaroon cookies and princess cake. The cakes were VERY expensive. The smallest cake, 6", was $27.00 but it was so pretty, I bought that too. It has layers of filling and whipped cream inside. The girl helping assured me everything was fresh, just before telling me that she meant everything was freshly frozen! I asked for the most recently baked. I live an hour away and just happened on this place. 2 cookie, small brownie, and tiny cake came to about $33.00!!! On the way home I ate one of the french macaroons. It tasted like it had been just freshly thawed, but the taste was so nasty. It tasted like it had absorbed the smells from a dirty refrigerator! A combination of dirty, onion, and old cheese. I was shocked! That evening we decided to have a small slice of this beautiful princess cake. I looked at the date it was baked-4 days earlier! As I took my first bite, I almost spit it out. Again that dirty refrigerator smell! My husband said, "sorry, but this cake tastes terrible!" We both tried to take a few more bites and the whipped filling had absorbed even more of some other bad smell. We were so disappointed. I just got up and threw the whole rest of the cake in the trash. $33.00 down the trash can. That cake was inedible! Today I called the owner who argued that that was not possible and everything was baked fresh. I told her that the girl helping me had said they were previously frozen. Then she said "well, yes that is true". How can it be freshly made and be frozen? But the cake and cookies tasted like the same refrigerator bad smell. She stated she couldn't talk and would call me back. Still waiting. Save yourself time and money- or buy a sample first and taste it yourself.

Jan M.

Yelp
We love finding bakeries when we travel. We bought several items and were very disappointed.

Tommy M.

Yelp
I have been Karl's Bakery three times, I typically drive around eight miles to get there; typically they have great product. When I arrived on Sunday there were three people in the bakery and I was told I had to wait outside; there was only one person working inside the store. When I finally got in, I bought an Apple pie. The picture of it is below; there is hardly anything inside of it, it was hollow and flat. I called back and asked for the owner who was not in and got the response that the baker had recently quit and that is why the pie was flat and hollow. I left my information and asked for the owner to give me a call I was not offered a refund or another pie. I love them so I'm disappointed in the hollow apple pie. The owner never gave a call back; paying $20 for a pie like this and poor customer service isn't correct.

Michelle R.

Yelp
Update from my past review. I finally called again and got everything sorted out and they refunded me partial payment. Thank you for handling that matter within the call.

Michael P.

Yelp
I heard about this place from a New Times article listing the best donut shops in Phoenix. So my expectations were naturally high as I ventured to Karl's Quality Bakery, and they sure delivered. I tried the Lemon Basil Kronut, and it was as mouthwatering as promised by the article. The Lemon Basil Kronut is a seasonal offering. If you want to try one of these delicious donuts, I would run to Karl's with all expediency. This will not be my last trip to Karl's as I was overwhelmed by the sights and smells of all the pastry offerings in the display cases. Further research must be conducted ... for science!

Adnan A.

Yelp
Extremely heart broken and upset. I ordered a custom made cake for my daughter's birthday. I contacted Karl's bakery on Instagram. Was given an email address. Emailed the date I need a cake on, for how many people and a picture of a cake. Received a response asking for my phone number. Christin called me right away. She sounded very professional and polite. We talked over again made few changes and agreed I would be at the bakery on Sunday at 7am to pick up the cake. She said it will be $144, she needs credit card number to charge a deposit. I did not have a problem with it. When I looked at my account later that day the full amount was charged. I didn't have a problem with it but was surprised. Well today is Friday at 11am got a phone call from Brenda (I believe). She said "we are wondering when will you pick up the cake". I was shocked and speechless. I know we all get busy and carried away with everyday problems but I couldn't mess up the date especially that I am working Monday through Friday and live all the way in far west valley. She said, she doesn't know any and Christine asked her to call me. I asked to speak to Christine. When Christine got on the line she was telling me that I was incorrect, that I did in fact ordered cake for Friday the 9th. I told her there is no way. I pulled the email from 9/29 at 11:50am and read it to her. At this time she changed her story and said oh I messed up the dates. I thought today was the 11th. I do not appreciate the dishonesty. I told her I don't feel comfortable getting a cake which was baked on Thursday. After all if I wanted a regular cake I would just from grocery store. Christine was very rude and told me multiple times she is an artist and not paper rat. I finished the conversation, we agreed that she will bake a new cake. After few minutes of thinking it just didn't settle right with me. I do not appreciate the dishonesty. I don't like when people change story. This is the email I received this afternoon: Your payment has been refunded. It will take three to five business days to process, that is up to the merchant processor and not us. We have a note to call you on Thursday to make sure the refund went through. I also attached a picture of the order, where you will see that is was my fault where I circled the wrong day. And once I realized it I owned up to the mistake. I tried to make it right and offer to remake the cake for your daughter's birthday, however you declined. If your daughter does not have a cake for her birthday please don't blame us. But your lack of trust in people. We have not been in business 26 years by not honoring our word. The lack of respect you showed me by continually questioning my integrity without giving me the space to correct an honest mistake was degrading. Christine
