Karwoo Halal (Stepney Green)

Who prepared the king prawn fried rice and salt and pepper chicken wings for the order that went out just before 5pm? It definitely wasn’t your usual cook. The chicken wings tasted old, seemed to have been refried, and were far too salty. The rice was overcooked, too fluffy, and lacked its usual flavour. It’s clear the regular chef wasn’t in today. The quality here is far too inconsistent, I’m really disappointed with my £22 order.

This place has always been a childhood favourite of mine but every time i order the quality and care for the food being served has just gone down hill. Ordered on uber eats and my curry chips were full of chillies which has never happened before. This didn’t help to the EXTREME amount of chillies added to the chow mein and rice dishes. We asked for hot but it just seemed inedible, also adding to the fact, pieces of naga were found in my rice and the chilli stalk which just made things worse. For the amount you pay the lack of care for the food being served to customers is really disappointing as this was my go-to stop for Chinese takeaway…

Thank you so much for accommodating my last-minute Uber Eats order. I didn’t realise it was nearly closing time, yet you still accepted my order and prepared it so quickly. After spending most of the day in hospital with a sick family member, this kindness really meant a lot. Truly appreciated.

Absolute disgrace, ordered my food and paid over £30 and when delivered they gave me the wrong order. I couldn’t not contact the uber driver so I rang the restaurant directly for them to turn around and tell me that’s not their issue and to reorder online. As a mother with a newborn baby this is just appalling way to deal with your customers when it can be easily resolved with the right order. Ask for a manager and the manager didn’t even want to speak to me! Do not order from them ! They will waste your time and money.

We ordered three large rice portions, but the servings we received were far smaller than expected. Very disappointing service.

i never usually write reviews but i had to this time…i was craving karwoo BADLY, so online that they’re closed but whilst driving past i saw that they’re store door was open, so decided to go in anyway. asked if they took card, the guy said that unfortunately they don’t. he said how the kitchen was also closed. but then they asked me what i wanted anyway, i wanted a sausage roll with curry chips, so they gave me FOUR sausage rolls (because i said i was with four other people), my curry chips with extra curry sauce, AND another THREE burger patties, ALL ON THE HOUSE out of the kindness of his own heart. he said since he figured it’s the end of the day and the food will get wasted he might as well give them away for free if it’ll make someone happy. but the free food wasn’t the only thing that made me happy, their food is DELICIOUS WALLAH been eating from them ever since they first opened in stepney but usually order. and the service was amazing, we were talking and he was really nice, asked me to make duaa for him after serving the food, which of course!! and the service was really quick so didn’t have to wait for long, doesn’t mean the food was cold, because it wasn’t, it was the perfect temperature. if u don’t like karwoo ur just weird, cos it’s BANGING. go to the one in stepney, their amazingggg

Ordered on uber eats food is lovely especially the chow mein but the chips were swimming in oil it leaked everywhere and completely raw? Such a shame cause the rest was great but don’t think I’d bother again
