"Kasama Chocolate on Granville Island is a hidden gem! 🍫👀 . Their hot chocolate is absolutely divine and rich. The chocolate selection is impressive, with beautifully crafted treats that taste as good as they look. A bit off the beaten path, but Google Maps makes it easy to find. Definitely worth a visit for chocolate lovers.

I was really excited about the release of the Hong Kong Milk Tea chocolate bar made collaboration with Teakan. Tea-flavored foods are always tricky, since it’s hard for the tea’s delicate flavor to stand out. Sadly, it didn’t taste like Hong Kong milk tea at all. Even the Ceylon tea flavor was hard to detect. In the end, it just tasted like an ordinary bar of dark chocolate for $16. I’m sure this store has lots of other things to offer, but sadly this was a miss for me.

Went to Kasama chocolate for a second time today and I’m still very impressed with their chocolate bars and hot chocolate! We tried their spicy hot chocolate today and wow it was punchy and chocolatey! Highly recommend for spice lovers! 🌶️🌶️

First time here! Great to see different flavor combinations. Tried the durian and seasonal chocolate flavor. The durian didn’t have a strong smell & was quite smooth. I am lactose intolerant and happy to report the seasonal coconut milk chocolate wasn’t overly strong in the coconut smell & well balanced the mix of spices. The staff member was very nice & offered different samples. My cousin, who lives here, often sends these as gifts to his staff members who live all over Canada. Warning— The chocolate is a little pricy, but you get great quality.

We love Kasama Chocolates!! Went for a visit again recently to grab some of their delectable chocolate bars. First it’s bean to bar and they make the chocolate right there in the back. I love that they give you samples of the bars before you buy (see pic). We tried 8 different bars before choosing 3 of them and got lots of advice and recommendations along the way. We chose the award winning strawberry white chocolate (so good!!!) and the limited release bar (middle one in my pic) was my favourite, my husband chose the third bar. You can actually taste the notes of cherry or coffee etc in the bars like you would in a good wine. The 3 bars cost us around $45 so that’s something to keep in mind - not something you do every week, but for a special occasion or to spoil yourself. We also love their hot chocolate and appreciate how you can customize it (see my pic) and we always visit them during the annual Hot Chocolate Festival. Kasama chocolates have spoiled me for all other chocolate bars…seriously. Absolutely worth a visit, you won’t be disappointed!

Google
Not surprised at how many awards Kasama Chocolate has won over the years. Upon entering, we were treated to sample some of the best small batch chocolates I have ever tasted so we ended up buying 7 different bars. The gumamela ice cream pop also gets 5 stars. You'll not only satisfy your chocolate cravings but also learn a lot about their production process from the very informative staff. I can't wait to go back!

Google
It was our first time to visit Kasama Chocolate earlier! Their chocolates were absolutely delicious! And their hot chocolate, it was top-notch 👌 I've personally tried their Calamansi Chocolate and the Strawberry White Chocolate, and they were so good! Vince was friendly and accommodating. Will definitely try their other selections when we get back!

Google
Their award-winning strawberry white chocolate is so so sooo good! Its strawberry flavour is strong but the chocolate taste also shines through. Their bars are dairy-free as well so they’re lactose-friendly. We were lucky enough to also get some of their calamansi flavoured bars too! Definitely ordering more bars in the future!

Yelp
Such a huge disappointment. I consider myself a bit of a hot chocolate aficionado. Maybe i chose poorly but I was so let down. I ordered the regular 70% hot chocolate with cow's milk and a bit of whip cream. Maybe i should have gone for the drinking chocolate but my drink simply was not nearly chocolates enough. I had such high hopes when i walked in since the place has a wonderful chocolate aroma but my drink was very average. I would put it on par with the hot cocoa at Starbucks. No place to sit inside but there is a bench outside.

Yelp
This place is tucked into an alley on Granville Island. It's very easy to miss unless you're wandering around that stretch and happen to turn your head and look down the alley. It's right beside the Performance Works building. I don't know how long this shop has been here, but in all my life I've never noticed this place until now. I happened to have just come out of an afternoon show at Performance Works and as I was walking away from the Performance Works building, I happened to turn my head and see this shop, so decided to check it out. They're a small shop/ workshop that does tours which teach how chocolate is made. When you walk in, you can smell chocolate in the air. The lady in the shop offered some samples of their chocolate. I tried their Tanduay Rum chocolate and their Earl Grey Tea chocolate. According to their website their chocolate is award winning. To be honest though, I wasn't blown away by what I tasted. It wasn't bad but it also didn't taste to me like it was award winning chocolate. I noticed a sign though that said they had a drink which was part of the Koolfest. This is a new festival that started this year and is a celebration of cold drink creations from vendors of the annual Hot Chocolate Festival. Kasama's creation was a Filipino Cacao Husk & Kape Cold Brew with Vanilla Cinnamon Syrup and Ube Cold Foam. I hadn't had any Koolfest drinks yet, this one sounded appealing and to be honest...I'm the kind of person who tends to feel guilty about taking free samples and then not buying anything! So...having sampled the Tanduay Rum and Early Grey Tea chocolates, I decided to buy a Koolfest drink. Not much of a coffee person usually. This might be only the second time I've ever ordered a cold brew drink. I very much enjoyed this drink! For me to enjoy a coffee beverage, it has to be sweet and this one was sweet...but not excessively sweet. I loved the Vanilla Cinnamon flavor in it. It really hit the spot.

Yelp
I visited KASAMA to try kool drink festival's limited item. I always like their chocolate bar and visited here again for a lot of expectation. Isla Mocha - Crafted from premium phillipine cacao husks and Philippine cofffee beans, this chilled drink is steeped to perfection. It's smooth chocolate ray and naturally uplifting, lightly sweetened with cinnamon and vanilla syrup. It's finished with luscious ube cold form adds a vibrant purple swirl and hint of tropical flair. Perfect blend of rich cacao, coffe and creamy ube. Yes, I totally agree with this part. Perfect combination of cacao, coffee and creamy ube! That drink itself tasted like cold chocolate mocha with coffee flavor. It was amazing flavor! Ube form is beyond descreption, it was sweet, blends with this drink so well. I wish they will make this drink as permanent menu. Highly recommend!

Yelp
the first thing I noted when walking into the chocolate shop was the delightful smell of fresh house made chocolate. They do bean to bar all directly in house which gives it this rich and amazing smell! Was super busy as it is a tiny space, (a few bar style chairs and a couple chairs to wait for your order). Ordered both of the specials on the menu. Loved the pastillas de leches, was a slightly toffee sweet and round flavour hot chocolate, where the ocean mystery offers a little salty flavour from the seaweed balanced well with the zing of matcha and sweetness of white chocolate. Definitely will be back to get some bars soon!

Yelp
Had the forest and sea chocolate (rosemary and salt flavours) thick hot chocolate. Elaborate flavour profile and quality chocolate! It was a perfect drink to walk around Granville island with. This chocolate brand is a local brand and one of the few chocolatiers here that are bean to bar.

Yelp
Strolling around Granville Island, my friend and I stumbled upon this adorable chocolate shop, lured in by a Kpop poster (who knew "K"asama ice popsicles were a thing?). The people there were lovely and very enthusiastic about their products. After trying various quirky chocolate samples, I opted for the milk bar, more for its cute packaging than anything else. It's a nice memento from Vancouver. Sadly, the chocolate flavours were underwhelming; the additions were barely noticeable, making the hefty price tag a bit too much. My friend agreed. Perhaps we've been spoiled by Soma.

Yelp
The chocolate is tasty, but the service can trend to be poor and unwelcoming. The prices are too high for small quantities, and the knockout punch is they absolutely refuse to provide access to a restroom there. Parking is not easy and expensive on Granville Island, and the whole trip there is a hastle as it located a bit out of the way from many popular Granville attractions. Outside decor looks inviting but the inside space is small for customers and boring vs cool chocolate factory vibe. Giving two stars for the taste of some of the chocolates, but not more for the misses overall. It also should be noted that their production seems small so desired flavors can sell out quickly and not be available, and perhaps not all flavors will be as desirable for all.

Yelp
Chocolate samplings were informative and it was fun to be able to try all the different kinds before making a purchase. Service was super friendly and the interior while small is very cute.

Yelp
Home to one of the finest craft chocolate makers in the world. Friends Vincent Garcia, Stefan Klopp, Oliver Koth-Kappus, & Dominik Voser discovered in 2015 that cacao beans were growing on a small property owned by Garcia's family in the Philippines. They started Kasama Chocolate in East Vancouver a year later. Now they're on Granville Island. They've won several awards globally for their fantastic chocolate. They make bean-to-bar single-origin chocolate & inclusion (flavored) bars. You owe it to yourself to visit (and to buy a bunch of chocolate).

Yelp
Wow Great hidden chocolate store and the little girl that works there was so sweet and let me taste so many things! Even the drinking chocolate is spectacular!

Yelp
I came here mainly for the Hot Chocolate Festival. This store is a bit tough to find at Granville Island but it's definitely worth it Their Ube Pandan White Chocolate hot chocolate has a soft pillowy texture but has really good flavor The drink is served with a meringue on top and a shortbread cookie on the side I used to get their chocolate bars at local craft markets and I am so glad they have a Brick and Mortar store They also offer samples of their chocolate and I picked up a couple of chocolate bars too!

Yelp
My husband and I came here for the hot chocolate festival and wanted to try what Kasama would offer. We ordered a 12oz Classic style Brazo De Mercedes with ube/pandan shortbread cookie at $9.25. The hot chocolate was excellent. The temperature was not too hot that we could drink it right away. The flavour was not too sweet and its purple colour with white chocolate on top made the presentation even better. The beverage came with an ube and pandan shortbread cookie. Yummyyy! It was not too sweet as well. We enjoyed the beverage and snack! Their chocolates have so many different flavours. Each of them has its special packaging and design. We used to buy many of their chocolates whenever we came here but we have got too many chocolates at home from Christmas or others. We will consume more from Kasama later. Their service was great. Staff here were helpful explaining to us on their products. They were polite and welcoming. My old colleague and I have booked a private chocolate tasting and tour at Kasama in February. We look forward to joining this tour, tasting different chocolates and buying their chocolates for sure!

Yelp
I'm not a huge fan of chocolate, but if you tell me something is award-winning, you best believe I'm gonna try it. It was a bit tricky finding this spot (it's tucked in a path/alley off the main road), and due to the summer heat, I was worried anything purchased might melt while sightseeing, so I only got 2 bars -- luckily they survived! It looked like a handful (or more) on display had won awards, so I guess you can't go wrong with any choice. I got the Kapé Espresso & Goat's Milk because they seemed most in line with my chocolate palate. Coincidentally they both have accolades, and boy, do they deserve them. They're 65% and 55% dark chocolate respectively, so they're not super bitter. They're both smooth, not too rich, and the Kapé Philippine coffee bean is incredible. It's strong and fragrant. I highly recommend if you're a fan of the chocolate/coffee combo. I wish it wasn't so hot the day I visited -- would've grabbed other bars to try!

Yelp
Great, creative, and local, chocolate maker! Their flavored white chocolate options are worth trying even if you normally detest white chocolate and, of course, their "bean to bar" dark chocolate bars are also great. With all of the options they have, it's too bad they don't have some way of getting a variety pack like you can get at Dandelion Chocolate in SF. Somewhat pricey (bars are $10 and up), but actually very reasonably priced when you compare to other low-volume (artisanal, if you must) chocolate makers.

Yelp
Hands down the BEST cup of cocoa I have EVER had. I purchased the 100% cocoa hot cocoa with a little sweetener and it was delicious! The service was also amazing. Thank you so much Kasama!

Yelp
It's definitely delicious chocolate. Grab a hot chocolate. Try the samples. You'll prob have a hard time not buying a bar to go.

Yelp
Thrilled to discover these brilliant artisanal chocolate producers who took home a few medals from the 2020-21 International Chocolate Awards. In addition to their prize winning selections they offer special limited release chocolate and Barrel Aged flavours like Wallflower gin and Single Malt Canadian whisky. (You won't get drunk, though - the alcohol evaporates during drying, just leaving the flavour.) The very sweet co-owner Vince says their stuff is handmade from bean to bar using chocolate imported from Papa New Guinea, the Philippines, Ecuador, Peru, etc. He explained that the machine we were hearing from the kitchen zone was the Chocolate refiner at work. (There's no seating at the moment, aside from a bench outside.) My dark hot chocolate Kapé Mocha is super delicious - you can choose from standard or get extra thick, European style, like I did, and enjoy sipping it for the next few hours. Be prepared to pay more for the superb quality and time your visit right - right now they're only open Fri - Sun from 10-5.

Yelp
I'm a chocoholic for sure and this is the best damn hot chocolate I have ever had. The lady at the counter was so sweet and nice. Gave us samples. The chocolate is very fresh. They specialize in chocolate bars which works for me. I don't eat the truffles anymore. She took the time to explain how chocolate is made. The variety was so fun and I'm so glad we stumbled on this store!!

Yelp
Vegan European style sipping chocolate!!! Made with oat milk and incredibly good!!!! Also the chai spice sipping chocolate was perfectly balanced. The chocolate bars were amazing: vegan white chocolate bar (No coconut). The rosemary chocolate bar was spectacular.

Yelp
Definitely our favourite chocolate in Vancouver. And now we can just head down to Granville Island to restock our supply. Also, the guys at Kasama are super friendly and knowledgeable. Their passion for chocolate really shows in the product.

Yelp
Love this place and love the chocolate. The product is really exceptional and the flavours are amazing. Also there's such a genuine, passionate vibe. The guys are great, and I love Vincent's dimples

Lorne B.

Yelp
Amazing chocolate made locally, bean to bar. Definitely a must stop at Granville Island or to order online to enjoy anytime.
