Asian Food in Mexico City — Best Restaurants

"Also in Roma Norte is Kasína Café, where the menu was created by Minae Seo, who moved from South Korea to Mexico City to join her extended family, who had lived there for three decades. She makes dishes she used to cook at home with her mother: buchu jeon (chive pancakes with shrimp) and kkorijjim (braised oxtail with rice and kimchi)." - Travel + Leisure Editors

Modern Korean Restaurants Are Spreading All Over Mexico City - Eater

"The sophisticated Kasína Café takes yet another approach, mirroring modern fine dining and fusion restaurants that have developed in South Korea. It integrates elements of European bistros with traditional Korean flavors, all housed in a contemporary, minimalist space in Roma Norte." - Robyn Huang

I went for a lunch in the upper part where you can enjoy the typical Korean bbq. Everything was super good, I tried the two options beef and pork marinated, Served with many sides. Were delicious, also the soup was really good! Actually everything was good even the soju! Service was at the level, and very friendly, they were explaining and help us very well! I will come back soon! Price / quality… perfect!

Really enjoyed what I had. Granted after reading some of the reviews I avoided the entrees. I thought the salad was quite nice and the chicken was a bit sauced but overall very good.

Oh man. This was good. Loved the burrata salad, the green onion pancake, the gogalbi …and the cheesecake for dessert. Looking forward to returning.

Kasina is a beautifully designed Korean restaurant with an elegant atmosphere. The food is delicious, with rich, traditional flavors that stand out. It is a bit pricey Interestingly, the drinks are reasonably priced, ranging from 55 to 100 pesos, which is quite fair compared to the food. In my case, the service was excellent, the staff was incredibly attentive and welcoming. While the food is on the pricier side, the reasonable drink prices and quality dishes make it a good option for those looking to enjoy Korean cuisine.

I wasn't finished with the first dish when I knew I wanted to come back. Their creations are remarkable. I won't forget how delicious the Udon noodles were; it's one of the best and most creative dishes I've had. Everything was excellent. We had a tofu fresh salad that was so good! Then the fried chicken and wooow wow wow! Delicious. Then we had the japchae which was done in the traditional way. We also tried some beef stew that was well balanced and rich. The desserts weren't that sweet which I love, and the service and environment were perfect.

Underwhelming Korean dishes with a hefty price tag. Kasina was high on my “must-visit” list, but the experience fell a bit short of expectations. Upon arrival, I was acknowledged but without the warmest welcome. I was seated toward the back of the restaurant and handed a menu. Even though I was waiting for someone, they were pushy about getting me to order. When my friend arrived, we placed our order, and our Korean fried chicken was served promptly. The sauce was delicious, and the chicken was fried just right—not overdone. For our main dishes, we ordered kimchi fried rice and bibimbap. The kimchi fried rice was tasty but a bit small in portion, while the bibimbap had an appealing presentation, although the beef portion was disappointingly small. Given the price, the portion sizes felt lacking. We received a few side dishes, including a miso soup that was just average. The service was mediocre, with the servers seeming uninterested. Although the restaurant’s aesthetic was pleasing, the underwhelming food and half-hearted service left me disappointed.

The service was exceptionally professional. I felt truly welcomed, and the owner even came out to greet every table. The food matched the high level of service, elevated and absolutely delicious.

Wow! This was a seriously great dinner. I love Korean food, but perhaps foolishly didn’t expect to find such a fantastic Korean restaurant in CDMX. Nice minimalist decor and friendly and attentive servers welcomed us in. After that the food was exceptional in taste and plating. Prices are more than the CDMX norm, but feel worth it for the experience. We started with the buchu jeon, a Korean chive pancake with shrimp. It had lots of flavor and was a winning appetizer to start the evening. For entrees, I had the bibim bab, always a favorite. The portion was perfectly sized and once I mixed everything together with the kochujang sauce, the taste was fresh and healthy. My partner ordered the jeyuk bokkeum bab: stir-fried pork with rice and steamed bok choy. This was a beautifully plated dish, like a painting in its color and placement. The taste was excellent and on the spicy side, so be forewarned. Last, but not least… even if you are full, you still should try the classic cheesecake for dessert. It just might be the best cheesecake I’ve ever had - and I live in NYC, where it is a perennial favorite. This was an amazing and memorable end of our meal. Kasina Café was a break from all of the great Mexican food we have been eating and an unexpectedly outstanding dinner. Definitely give it a visit!
