even Tuesday, can't find spot to sit. The prices are good, and the view is nice. The music isn't too loud to be disturbing. Being right on the beach is a great addition. Of course, there's plenty of parking, but it's important to remember that it shares the beach. But the quality of the cocktail wasn't good at all, I had to throw it away without finishing it. I drank the cocktail (I had a mojito), they should make it better quality. This taste doesn't suit this place at all.

I should have known not to expect much from a beach shack grill but the reviews tricked me and had me expecting better. That's why I felt the need to leave an honest one. The live music was very nice, there was ample seating and the kids were able to run around. The crab cakes were pretty good for a beach bar. I would get them again if I happened to be there for music and drinks. I asked if the chicken sandwich was good and the person taking my order said it was their most popular item. I was convinced not to get anything else. 1,000% false advertising. This is not a fried chicken sandwich. This is a fried chicken patty sandwich. Not only was a a joke of a frozen piece of fake chicken. It was priced as a real piece of fried organic chicken and didn't even come with fries. Just thought everyone should know.

Maybe its cheap labor or helping the community, but kids in the kitchen definitely isn't a sign of quality food. Hard and cold fries, asked for a medium burger, but got a thin hard burger pattie, and rock hard calamari. Im one who lives by, I gotta try something atleast once, this experience was definitely it. Drinks were the highlight of the patronage.

This review is solely based on the bar and vibe NOT the food. Katch is literally placed on the beach with a great view of the ocean and true beach town water side vibes. Drinks are tasty and fairly strong and the outdoor environment is perfect for a nice summer day. They also do live music towards the evening which tons of people show up for to dance or sit on the beach or at the establishment to enjoy quality entertainment. Would definitely return if in the area again. Food is mediocre here.

The beach views and the band playing definitely made me feel like I was in Florida. The bar food was reasonably priced and I got a veggie burger for 10 dollars. Also, the bartender kept my keys safe which I really appreciated. I will definitely be coming back as my boyfriend saw the video attached and could not believe I had never taken him to this hidden gem! P.s. parking is kind of rough as this place is popular so get there early!

Great family friendly atmosphere drinks food and amazing bands all outside. Staff is terrific upbeat and friendly.

I ordered Mac & cheese bites and the chicken BLT sandwich.. $30+ later I received my order. The sandwich was delicious until I felt something strange/stringy in my mouth and I proceeded to start to pull a good 8" long hair out of my mouth. I felt like a magician pulling a ribbon out of my mouth. I watched my brother watching me wondering what was going on. I was completely grossed out after that and threw out the rest of the sandwich. But kudos to the girl or boy with the very long and healthy hair who apparently made my sandwich, I was tugging that hair out of my mouth for what felt like forever and it never broke. Still extremely grossed out though!

I had a good time here, there was a live band, really good music. I didn't try the food but the drinks were overpriced in my opinion. The service was pretty fast.

This place is chaos. The parking lot is a complete free for all which I guess is meant to prepare you for the service inside. Unreasonably long lines to get drinks. We ended up getting back in the car and going down to Babylon village to get some drinks instead. The potential is there for it to be a really cool place, just overcrowded and poorly operated unfortunately.

Went on Sunday of Labor Day weekend at 4:30pm. There was no more lobster, crab or grilled chicken! Yikes! Not much more to choose from. Thank goodness for the band Beernutz who rocked!

This is a pretty nice place, I have to say...you need to be a Town resident to get in, most times, and maybe that's why it's as pleasant as it is. No offense to anybody meant. The food is pretty standard beach fare with a couple of nice touches and they have a decent cocktail choice, as well. Everyone there is pretty nice and easy to talk to. I'm not a big beach guy but this is a very pleasant place to go after work or for a few hours on the weekend to unwind. They also have live music and dancing in the evenings. Pretty nice place and I mean "nice" as a big compliment! Will be back often...

Really nice seaside bar with great food and views. Another Long Island hidden gem! The staff is super friendly and accommodating.. the food was pretty good for a seaside bar.

The music, the view beats all! Casual local community place to hangout with no cover charge just enjoy and chill and appreciate this island we live on. Food reasonably priced, no views like this in downtown babylon and parking was easy and free.

I came here for an event on a Sunday and I had such a great experience. This is one of the nicest beach bars I have been to in New York and this is a nice place to enjoy time on the South Shore of Long Island. When I first entered the parking lot they charge, but I didnt pay because I went for an event. I believe they stop charging after 6 PM which is a good time to go. The bar was huge with a beautiful view of the water. They had picnic tables and sand all around the bar. The service was very good and I really enjoyed the white sangria. Next to the bar, they had a really big splash park for the kids which was a nice thing to do for a family day. I didn't really eat the food but what I could see they had typical bar food. I would definitely come back but the only reason it doesnt have 5 stars is because you have to pay for parking before 6 PM. It should be free if you are going to the restaurant.

Every summer the kids and I like to have lunch at the beach. We went today expecting to have lunch and the hours are wrong. Says they open at 11am. It's 1pm and they are closed. They say to check social media to see if they are closed and there is no post about it being closed. I messaged them and they got back to me quickly. They now open at 2.

My new favorite go to spot! The food served its purpose, it was great and the drinks were AMAZING!! The vibe of the place and live music was top notch. My wife and I love this place.

Very unimpressive for food and signature drinks. The $16 grilled chicken sandwich looked like it was a kids portion - barely covered 1/2 the bun and wasn't a thick cut. The "salad" was literally 5 sprigs of lettuce and 2 cherry tomatoes. The Rocket Fuel - a staple amongst Fire Islanders which is usually a jam-packed-alcoholic-marvel was less than satisfactory. They use a pre-blended mix which seemed to have little/no alcohol, and the "floater" wasn't even noticeable. The crowd was cool. The live band was pretty kick ass. And the view was beautiful - even with overcast clouds and questionable rain.

Don't bother going here unless you live in the town of Babylon or have a permit. I drove over 45 minutes to get to this spot just to be told I couldn't even park in the parking lot or I'd be fined. Tried looking for parking on the street (you also need a permit for that as well) that was a complete fail. Shouldn't you inform potential guest idk on your site or Instagram page of this major inconvenience. Complete waste of my time and gas. Will never return and would never recommend.

Not much nice to say about this place. While it tries really hard to be a fun beach place, it's over run with kids. Even at night time. The food was awful. Our waitress was never around. We had to call her to the table 5 times for drinks, food orders, ice, forks and knives. We walked right out the second we paid the bill and will not be going back. HUGE waste of money and a big disappointment.

Worst bar service I've ever seen... They run lines to get to the bar for drinks. Very very slow., I'm literally waiting on a line as I write this review. 15 min wait so far:... enjoy Hey Venetian get a clue

What a beautiful and chill spot to hangout. They're even open on Independence Day! GREG our bartender was incredible and made us feel very welcome. He was extremely accommodating and friendly. Highly recommend checking this spot out for a chill "beach" day without being in the actual sand. (Which is still an option btw). They have live music at night and nice reggae music playing during the day.

Just about the closest thing you can do in Long Island to feel like you are far away in Florida on vacation. Not that there's anything wrong with being in the best place to spend a summer in America, it's just that this place makes you forget about the traffic and the everyday life we all slog through. Grab a drink at the bar and hang out with some friends. Listen to live music and take your shoes off to walk in the sand. For a few hours you can feel like you're on a tropical getaway. And who doesn't need that every once in a while?

Solid place. Good cocktails and food and nice service. Beach is right there and we were at a wedding there, lovely place for the ceremony and cocktail hour.

Nothing better than a Friday night spent at Katch (or any night). They have transformed this space and you feel like you are in a tropical paradise. The large bar is well equipped with top shelf, about 8 taps of craft beer including their own Katch beer. There is plenty of seating outside or people opt to bring their own chairs for the own or beach. The stage is huge with a dance floor. They always have great entertainment. Full menu for your belly too! If you don't follow them and their schedule you need to. Your summer won't be complete without an evening spent at Katch. Ps there is plenty of parking and bike parking too. It's a Babylon park so you can enter after 4pm without a permit.

Came here in mid September, at the end of their season and considered off season. My friends and I just sat and had a few drinks at the bar and ordered a couple of apps to split. They were out of a TON of stuff, but we didn't really care and understood that mid September is the end of the season and they wouldn't be re-ordering a ton of stuff. Our bartender was so funny and friendly, I can't wait to come back when it's warmer and the middle of the summer and enjoy this place like it was built to enjoy.

The live music and location is what makes this place special. I ordered the fish tacos and the fish was fried really well and was tasty. However, the slaw was bland.

Just a little update. 2 days later. I definetely have food poisoning. I've been going to the bathroom uncontrollably for 2 days straight now. Thanks Katch! Awesome Father's Day present!!

Katch is such a pretty place to hang out! With live music and so many people there it is so easy to make friends. My boyfriend and I made conversation with a group of older ladies and had such a fun night! Everyone there is so friendly and fun. If you want to go one day! Do ittt! Especially after 5pm when parking is free.

Terrible food would never eat or come here again. Got the coconut shrimps tacos and calamari with my boyfriend 0/10. Drinks were fine.

This is definitely the place to come on the weekends in the summer. There is a huge parking lot and it's right on the beach. They have a cute little beach right on the Great South Bay. They have a small swimming area and life guard. I believe the beach is for the locals but I could be wrong. They have live bands and a dance floor with table seating. Lots of family and friends were here having some drinks and the big bar. You could either sit at the bar or go inside to order a drink. Which they bartenders were very attentive. Also inside which is kind of like "jones beach food court" vibe. You order food and go outside and indulge. There is no indoor seating. They have like bar food. Which was pretty a-okay! They had a big drink menu. They had mudslides which is big on Block Island and also Rocket Fuel which is big on Fire Island. So you didn't have to go far for the drinks you enjoy! Drinks are fairly priced! Would totally come again with a big group of friends!

Drinks are good and they accept credit cards unlike the previous owners. They have many frozen drinks already mixing in the machines which were a perfect consistency and right mix of alcohol, you knew it was there but not overpowering. Food prices for being right on the beach are quite affordable considering in other towns they would charge even more.

Love This place in the summer. Food is great. Little water front is awesome. Liquor is great and the servers are awesome.

I will never go to Katch again. I was at the search party for Tom Kelsey there. The owners wanted nothing to do with the search. Wouldn't allow us to hang signs or have the band make an announcement. Tom spent money there the night he went missing so apparently they have no problem taking your money but if you go missing after leaving their property they could care less and will even try to hinder search efforts. They should be ashamed.

Had such a blast here enjoying a band on a Saturday night. Fries and drinks were fabulous. Nothing like a frozen drink by the water dancing to great music. A perk of living on LI.

I went to Venetian with my husband Saturday night and the manager actually asked us to social distance ourselves, me and my husband had to be 6 feet apart. How ridiculous! Their explanation was that it appears as if we are congregating. The "rules" aren't as strict at other Babylon beach locations. Don't they realize that members of the same household do not need to social distance? I understand that everyone is trying to adapt to the new restrictions, but at what cost, upsetting your customers and making them feel uncomfortable? As an aside, the security guard that works during the weeknights is friendly, tough, but fair. He speaks to people like he has known them for his whole life, its refreshing. He is always watching, making people feel safe, without imposing his authority unless needed.

If I could give it zero stars, I would! The food and drink are all horrible! Go to Cedar Beach, or Overlook Beach. The food there, is 100 times better.

I thank god for the change in ownership,, the vision these new owners have will only bring good things to this place. Being that they know what they are doing. I will be a regular and happy knowing god has finally send us what we need here.!!! Enough said now come see for yourself.!!

This is a fantastic place to take family and friends on a weekend night. The food is pretty good for what I was expecting. I loved the fries and the mozzarella sticks were great. My mother loved her coconut shrimp. Grab the beach chairs and get ready for a nice night with a beautiful view, decent food, and great drinks. This will be a go to spot on summer nights from now on!

Good food, great music on outdoor patio. Last time I was there I was charged a credit card fee even though I paid cash. Tonight I was told there is no credit card fee it's a fee from Katch whether you pay cash or by credit card. I ordered pulled pork sandwich with French fries, lobster bisque soup and a drink, fries were cold, soup was warm not hot, waitress did not bring a spoon or any napkins, you cannot eat soup without a spoon , at first was told they had no spoons but they did find some. ( how can you serve soup with no spoon) . I stated I was paying by cash but waitress stated she had to hold a credit card but it would not be charged if I was paying cash, she then stated she would hold my card till end of night till I was leaving, I requested she return my card and she stated my credit card was being held in their safe. I have never had anyone ever hold my card in their safe until I was leaving, I also stated again I was paying cash. I finally stated I will close out my bill and requested my credit card returned to me, she asked me my last name and did return my card. I will never again allow them to hold my card, I at least should have been allowed to pay my bill in cash and not have my credit card held. I also did not get a receipt just a total bill for the table.

Beautiful outside seating and very spacious. Staff at the bar seemed helpful and nice. Sat down and waited for about 15 mins. No biggie to me, I've worked in the restaurant business and I understand how it can get. With COVID-19 I'm even more understanding. As we waited, obviously checked out the menu. Then this stink of smoke blew by and I didn't think nothing of it and it continued. As I walked to the bar to see if a manager could ask the person to stop smoking, I passed several patrons not wearing a mask. Most of staff did nothing. With the exception of one security person of the two. As I finally told the security that there was a person smoking right near a bush on the outside of their establishment, they said they can do nothing. The man was literally by a bush sitting awkwardly a foot away from the fence. No wonder everyone that walked by the tables near that corner. So he is literally deterrent of the business. Didn't even eat nor had drinks after 20-25 mins and left. I'd like to try this place cause my aunt goes here often but this is my 1st experience.

Service was great, greeted quickly by friendly mask wearing staff. They are keeping the place clean and im here now enjoying a great cocktail with a summer breeze by the bay can't beat it

What a great job the new owners did with updates! Place looks so much better. Can't wait for the full menu and the rest of the band line up this summer.

I don't even want to give 1 Star. Their chicken fingers were just bread- no chicken inside. They put a hockey puck size burger on a huge bun. This is embarrassing on their part. So overpriced. It's not worth it.

20 minute wait on line and got my food, not too bad. But the crab cake was mushy and not cooked enough for me, French fries and pretzel looked recooked, tacos not bad. Cashier was pleasant. 35 dollars for two people, not great. Atmosphere great, music was not. Weather was the best part. I don't think I'd try this place again

We used to really enjoy the old Beach Hut at Venetian Shores. The new owners are treating this place like its on park ave in NYC. The casual relaxed atmosphere has been replaced with roving security telling people if the have a bottle of water they cant stay. If they want a chair they MUST order food. The drinks are over priced and not much more then average at best. The food is not any better. To maintain control over their area, it has been fenced in, which left a little patch of grass for people who have no desire to spend hundreds of dollars to hear live music that used to be heard for free two years ago. Now security chases anyone with their own bottles of water or snacks from what's left of the of lawn beyond the fenced area. The "grass" was part of the free town of babylon part of this park. This no longer seems to the case. That's the "Katch" if you want to visit venetian shores to have a drink, you need to sit at the bar, if you want to sit at a table, you must order food. If you want to just relax and have a stress free experience go some place else.

New Owners, great new updated look and feel, staff is friendly. Saw the band Sat. Night and people were dancing and just having a good time. Would come back again. The view is a bonus.

Really great ambiance!!! Food was amazing! Love Katch wish they would open a little earlier on week days!! Great environment for families! Love! Love! Love! Very clean! Affordable! Can't say enough good things!

Where is the band schedule? The web site directs me to Facebook for which I am not a subscriber. Why not post a Calendar similar to last year.
