Google
The best lunch spot in Beaumont! I really wish they would open on the weekend as well. Forgot to take pictures since my friend and I were non-stop chatting! Next time I'll take pictures of their phenomenal tomato soup and pecan crusted chicken salad!

Always wonderful! The service was fast, tomato basil soup was amazing and hot. The mousse is always something I never leave without, and the Hibiscus tea is my favorite.

We are in town visiting family and my husband insisted to go to this place because this is one of his favorite place to eat. It was my first time but I quickly learn why he likes it so much. Their food was so delicious. Well seasoned and so fresh tasting. The ambiance of the restaurant is so relaxing and staff were really friendly.

Google
Best food in the Golden Triangle! Healthy, freshly sourced & delicious. I always try to go on the days that the special is fish. Katherine has the best!

Google
Brit took a largish carry out order for us and made sure everything was labeled with the recipient, bagged and prepped. The food was as ordered and delicious. I highly recommend. It made my day much easier. Thank you so much Brit.

Google
Best brunch in Beaumont. Wish they were open more often for brunch. Smoked salmon bagel and Tex-Mex quesadillas were my favorites this morning. We will be back for more next month.

We went to the First Thursday for the first time last night and had a LOVELY time! The food was great! That flourless chocolate cake! Wow! We each ordered something and enjoyed it. The atmosphere is fun. The music is lovely!

Google
Great place love both locations, had a bacon ceaser salad simple but good.

Yelp
Such yummy food! We had the Greek Wrap and the quinoa with apricot and pine nuts on the side. And the Fish Taco and a cup of the watermelon gazpacho delicious! Thank you for having us!

Yelp
It was a busy Friday on our way to Houston from Lafayette. We stood in line for probably ten minutes. Food came out fast. My latte Didn't come out til I was halfway done with my salad. The salad was good but for the price, the serving was small. Just give me more lettuce and I'd be happy. The latte was good. The building was beautiful but parking was limited. It's counter service with no waitress so tips are optional!

Yelp
I wish I would have taken pictures but I completely forgot before diving in. The food is all fabulous. It is a gem for Beaumont. The salads , sandwiches and dessert are all delicious.

Yelp
I have frequented Katharine & Company since the beginning of college, and I just graduated! It is a hidden gem, and, to me, it is the best restaurants in the SETX area. I typically get their special, which varies every day except for Wednesdays. Their fish and chicken specials are my favorite, but I typically pass on their spaghetti days. Their food portions are just perfect and do not overfill you. The food is also fresh. Their desserts are also great. My favorite is the fruit tart.

Yelp
Thoroughly enjoyed my Guero. You get a very nice deli lunch that is palatable and appealing. You will pay gourmet prices for the uptown location in the Mildred Building. The caprese salad is delicious!! The Guero was great! Crunchy bread and fresh meat and veggies! Loved the peppers! Would have appreciated a sauce! $19 for soup, sandwich, and tea. Tea was on point!

Yelp
Every morsel is amazing. Your going to be delighted. It so freaking beautiful and delicious

Yelp
I really enjoyed this place. The building is cute. Food is good. Service is very friendly. I had the pecan Parmesan crusted sandwich & a bowl of soup.

Yelp
Always a treat at Katharine and company quality is always there. We live in the golden triangle and wish that they'd open one closer to us so we didn't have to go to Beaumont.

Yelp
Always love to have lunch here! The 1/2 sandwich with 2 sides is my fav. The BLT with mozzarella and basil on wheat toast with the green beans and artichokes and the quinoa with golden raisins is great. We also love the park sandwich...fantastic. As mentioned by others I also love the specials especially the fish specials.

Yelp
What a lovely place!!! I've been here a couple of times now with my sister while visiting Beaumont and each visit has been marvelous! On my most recent visit, I opted for the chef's special of grilled chicken breast with garlic mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus ... all lovingly draped with chimichurri. Yasssss! SO GOOD! My sister got the Guero sandwich with a side of tomato basil soup and was "souper" happy as well. Needless to say, we both inhaled our lunches with ease and satisfaction. We also opted for a few baked goods because its not a real visit without them. K&C has some excellent choices. This time, we went for a chocolate chip cookie, a brownie and drumroll please ...... the peanut butter sandwich cookie. They were all good but just typing about that heavenly peanut butter cookie sandwich is making me salivate. Its THAT AMAZING! (We should have gotten two ... or three ... or all of them ... we totally should have gotten all of them.) If you are there on a day they have the grilled shrimp with andouille sauce resting over cheddar grits, I highly recommend this dish as well. Saying that, I'm sure all of their dishes are spectacular. They care about their food and its obvious! The staff is friendly and helpful as you line up to order. The food is also served pretty darn quick (once your buzzer goes off ... you will get one after ordering & paying) which is good news if you are hungry! There is also plenty of seating as well as brewed tea beverage options. (You'll see!) As for the location, its in a fabulous old building with just as much character as the food. There is limited parking directly in front of K&C's entrance, however, you will have better luck on the side of the building where there is a small lot. I've only been here for lunch as I believe these are pretty much the only time they are open with the exception of special "every once and while" dinner hours or special events. So, make sure you don't miss this place. Its become one of "go to's" when visiting Beaumont!

Yelp
Great service and food. Always consistent and customer service is amazing. The owner is awesome and the location is perfect.

Yelp
Food was amazing, ambiance was very special. Loved the character of the older building. Service was fast and efficient.

Yelp
Stopped by this beautiful restaurant on a business trip and was so pleasantly surprised at the wonderful ambience and friendly service. The food was outstanding and exceptional and I couldn't have asked for a better surprise in a town that I didn't know anything about. This is a secret little gem that I think the locals no well but visitors are lucky to find

Yelp
Thank you for making my day, making my year, and making my life!! You all have blessed my with more joys than any one person deserves! Not one but every member of this team of workers contributes to overall five star experience that is Katherine and Company. I once was asked where my favorite place in world was and I would be lying if I said it was anywhere but the high ceiling, checkered floors of Katherine and Co. I have had many ups and many downs in my life, and without a doubt Katherine and Company always succeeds in lifting me up! They provide the most exemplary food, and beyond that they push the limits of the culinary experience. I want to commend everyone at Kat and Co. because without them I would not be where I am today. I would not be the women I am today. Katherine and Company is hands down the greatest place for anyone who believes and wants to achieve joy.

Mark S.

Yelp
My wife and I stopped by Katharine & Company based on Yelp reviews and thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience. If this is your first time let them know and you will be guided through your meal. I had the Grilled Shrimp Po-Boy and my wife had a shrimp salad. Both were presented quickly and cooked perfectly. Not so much you are stuffed, just the right amount. Suffice it to say we will be back.

Jo M.

Yelp
The best food in Beaumont. Their soups are to die for! Fresh and made daily. They make everything from scratch and have an immaculate kitchen.
google avatar

Rebekah H.

Yelp
Hands down some of the best tomato soup that I have ever had. Their pecan crusted salad with a honey mustard vinaigrette is a dish that I have enjoyed on numerous occasions. The chicken salad sandwich is another goodie. I will have to add pictures after Covid.

Yelp
Super cool spot we found in passing. Food is really good. Try the watermelon soup, it's fantastic. They have a fun assortment of teas, which I like. Not a kid friendly menu, just a hint. Great place to bring your girlfriends.

Yelp
I love this place! The food is delicious and they offer healthy items as well as desserts. Love!

Kathy B.

Yelp
Everything they make is wonderfully delicious . Very talented chefs. When family comes to Beaumont that is my go to place for family dinners and desserts At the Calder branch. I go to the Mildred for lunch. I get the lunch special and chocolate mousse . All good!

Yelp
On our road trip to our New Orleans vacation we decided to stop here for lunch. Their menus are located by the front door so, don't pass them up like we did. You order your food and beverages at the counter and they will call your name when it's ready to pick it up at the side bar. We beat the rush because after we ordered a line formed out the door. The bathroom is a single stall and looks sort of pieced together. The ladies room is downstairs and the men's is located upstairs. They have plenty of bistro tables which filled up quickly after we sat down. It is downtown Beaumont so, the parking can be a little difficult. At the recommendation of the gal behind the counter I opted for the pecan crusted chicken sandwich and decided on the side of green beans with artichokes. The pecan crusted chicken unfortunately was dry and definitely could use a lemon slice on the side and another texture to pull it all together into one great sandwich. It was just mush but, I think adding a couple bacon strips could cure that problem. The flavor was there just not the texture combinations. The green beans with artichokes surprised me in a great way. I never thought of combining those two in my dishes at home but, I will think about it now. Who knew those flavors went together so well? This place is a catering company offering lunch and I would come back again but, would select a different meal option. I think I expected a lot more from an expensive sandwich.

Yelp
If you're missing dining in an elegant place with equally beautiful food, this is the spot. The prices are a bit on the high side, but the food is quality. There's no doubt about that. We really dug their meatloaf & awesome desserts. Lots of suits & families dine here - so look respectable if you're stopping in for a bite. The portions aren't as great as Amelia's for example, but you can't have it all, all the time, can you?

Yelp
On our return trip from New Orleans to Austin, we were looking for a lunch spot at the midway point in Beaumont and wanted to steer clear of fast food/chains. Our timing was perfect because we rolled into town at 1:30pm, shortly before Katharine & Company closes at 2pm. The building has vintage charm, the counter service is friendly as can be, and the menu of soups, salads, and sandwiches has something for everyone. I enjoyed a pecan crusted chicken sandwich on wheat bread that was set off nicely by fresh tomato, lettuce, and curried mayonnaise. My husband scarfed down his turkey club, which was stupidly good (yes, I snagged a bite). Both of our soup sides - corn chowder and tomato-basil - were home-cooked comfort food at their best.
google avatar

Mark M.

Yelp
Such good food! I love their first Thursday's every month because it's a chance to get dinner here. The only complaint is that the price can be a little steep for the Thursday night dinner and even some of their lunch items are expensive. The food quality is fantastic and I think one of the best places in Beaumont.
google avatar

Lorenzo C.

Yelp
Each time I've visited each of their locations they were great. Friendly faces, great food, and creative spaces. Each time i go i have to take a pastry home or pre-packaged meal. They have it all covered and every time I go in they have something creative and new to try.

Yelp
Katharine & Company serves a delicious gluten-free lunch. As a celiac, I am always on the hunt for gluten-free options while traveling. I had the red snapper and a cup of Chicken Lime soup. My husband had a salad with shrimp. Both meals were delicious. A very short drive from I-10.
google avatar

Nancy C.

Yelp
My husband and I were driving on I-10 West headed toward Austin. We usually stop in Houston for lunch but decided to try our luck in Beaumont. Saw this place on Yelp and were only 2 miles away. Decided to take a chance. Good choice! We came to have salads BUT We both had the Daily special which was pork chops with a lemon vinaigrette sauce, real mashed potatoes and asparagus. What a meal! Not only presented well but scrumptious! Had some very nice flavors going on there! Prepared so well. Loved the atmosphere. In an old old building, dark wood counter and furnishings. Homemade teas with taster cups to sample each tea before making your choice. Beautiful desserts on display made fresh each day. Very friendly staff. No doubt we will be making this our lunch stop from now on.

Yelp
So enjoyed my food. Great setting and food was awesome. I have a steak and salad. Medium was cooked just right.

Yelp
This place is great. Went there for lunch 2 days in a row it was so good. Sandwiches, salads, great cookies, various iced teas. In the corner of a beautiful old building. Very friendly staff.

Yelp
First time patron today for lunch. The location in a historic building is great. I found parking bit of a challenge. Took me awhile to figure out it's an "order your own meal" at the bar place. I totally missed the stack of menus upon entering. Had the special of pork, mashed potatoes and green beans. I was totally surprised my meal was almost $16 with tea. Expensive for me for lunch. Plate cane out to the pick it up yourself bar quickly. I was put off at the small portions for the price. What bothered me the most about this meal was that it came with no real bread item. Came with two small pieces of Melba toast. What?? Melba toast from a place that makes their own cookies?? and just south of $16?? Maybe this is me over feeling a comment. I went up to the bar and asked for more ice in my glass. The immediate response was, Do you want a To Go cup? Felt like I was not welcomed. If I'd wanted a To Go cup, I'd have asked for one. I'll put a bow on this saying the pork and mashed potatoes were excellent! I might try this place again.

Yelp
Located in a historic building provides a charming backdrop for this local cafe only open for lunch. Katherine's provides quick and healthy lunch options focused on salads and sandwiches. The baked items are made in house. They have a selection of iced teas and wines to drink. This is a no frills casual dining spot. Walk in, take a menu, and find your way to the counter at the back to place your order. You will receive a buzzer that will ring when your food is ready. Grab a table, and wait for your buzzer to alert you when to walk back and pick up your food. The salads were fresh and tasty. The avocado and mango salad with add on chicken salad was pretty good. I like that they put the dressing on the side. The gluten free peanut butter cookie was OK. Avoid the espresso it was horrid. Stick with the self service unsweetened iced teas. Service was friendly. Overall, I wish I could give this a 3.5.
google avatar

Yelp
This place has the BEST food!!!And the desserts are fabulous!!! I eat here every time I am in Beaumont. It makes the drive from Houston worth it. I even get to go to bring back for dinner.
google avatar

Julio L.

Yelp
Pretty good salads and sandwiches. Also one of the very very few decent places for lunch in Beaumont with lighter options

Allie A.

Yelp
Great local eatery to stop on our way to Louisiana! Excellent service too! The tea options are top knot high as well
google avatar

Eric G.

Yelp
Good lunch spot. Went with salad and soup. The food was good but I wish I would have gotten just a little more food for the money. Also, there is a line to order, so make sure you have plenty of time for lunch. Happy with my Greek salad, tomato bisque and lemon brownie!
google avatar

Angeline C.

Yelp
In Beaumont for business and had lunch with my colleagues at Katherine's. It was such a great find. Perfect spot for lunch with a variety of delicious items on the menu. And an iced tea bar...awesome! I had a salad and a cup of the mushroom artichoke soup with brownie for dessert, because, if you saw the spread of treats - you wouldn't be able to pass them up either.
google avatar

Charlotte Jeffress R.

Yelp
I am new to the area, but have seen Katharine's when passing by to my office. I decided to stop in the other day for a lunch and the food was great. I had the 'Italian' sandwich with side of tomatoes/mozz. Being new, I didn't understand that you order and pick up at counter top. A little bit of an issue was the legs on the tables. The big hook makes it difficult to maneuver. Thought it was just me, but I saw several men/women almost fall when they caught their foot. Also, on observing, few people tipped and the lady cleaning the table was fast and friendly. When I didn't know the rules, she helped me out. I'll be coming back! Loved it!

Yelp
I get why it was featured in Texas Monthly this was just what I was looking for. The tomato basil soup was delicious, but did need a pinch of salt, the artichoke mushroom soup was heavenly. Reasonably portions and awesome daily specials, just an all around great lunch spot and what a cool atmosphere, just beautifully done interior. review from Texas monthly: When the proprietor moved into the stately Mildred Building and expanded her catering business to include a dine-in menu, lunch options greatly improved around here. On any given day you'll find ladies who lunch and Nomex-suited refinery workers alike tucking into the likes of pecan-Parmesan-crusted chicken salad with crunchy green beans and new potatoes and a pork tenderloin sandwich on fresh-baked focaccia. Daily specials range from crab cakes to meat loaf. Save room for a homemade chocolate cookie. Beer & wine.
google avatar

Zach C.

Yelp
This was a great choice for lunch today, got there right before the place filled up with old Beaumont business people. I got the bacon and turkey on wheat bread, which is just another way to say a club sandwich. It was delicious with fresh tomatoes, spinach, avocado and a side caeser salad. Usually it comes slathered in curry mayo as well, but being a hater of white sauces, I K.O.'d that real quick. The meal wasn't overly expensive, about $9. This was only my second time to eat here and it's been good both times. It's close to where I work and now that there isn't any more construction on Calder Ave., I'll be eating here more often. There is also a dinner on the first Thursday of every month with a special menu.
google avatar

Yelp
Katharine and Company is one of the most original restaurants in Beaumont, Texas. The atmosphere is incredible, as it is nestled in the beautiful, historic Mildred Building on Calder in Old Town. They are only open for lunch and on the first Thursday of each month in the evening. The daily special is always delicious, but you can't go wrong with one of their sandwiches, full of fresh ingredients. My favorites are the pork tenderloin sandwich, BLT on focaccia, tomato basil soup, crab cakes.
google avatar

Joan D.

Yelp
This building is so unique in comparison to most of Beaumont. I usually come here for their First Thursdays dinner nights. Menu is always great and the atmosphere is really nice. I believe they cater too? I love their flavored teas and their spaghetti!
google avatar

Jonathan R.

Yelp
Fast, friendly service. Great tasting food. Interesting menu items. Decent prices. I never really been a fan of soup and sandwich places, but this is a great little place to eat.
google avatar

Kelly B.

Yelp
What a great job! We hosted a small wedding in our backyard of about 40 people. Kathryn did the catering and we could not be more pleased! Not only was the food fantastic, but she and her staff were so very gracious and unobtrusive. They even cleaned up our kitchen area and neatly stacked all of the rental dishes so the next day cleanup was a breeze. We will recommend Kathryn & Co. any time we hear of a catering need - they will be our FIRST call for any occasion.
google avatar

Yelp
My first time to Beaumont and I thought I was never going to see a good place to eat. Found this place with a very sophisticated and yummy menu. What a wonderful surprise! I travel a lot for work and eat in a lot of high end places. Highly recommended-unique and charming with delicious food and teas. I had the mushroom artichoke soup and quinoa with a pecan crusted chicken sandwich. Delicious!
google avatar

Kelly D.

Yelp
This lunch spot was fantastic. Any lunch place that offers a portobello sandwich gets a good review from me for sure. The decor was sweet and the tea was great (and so were the free refills). This is a great place for a business lunch or a lunch out with the ladies. It's kind of a lone island in its area of town, but if you live in Beaumont, you must try it.
google avatar

Jennifer L.

Yelp
This place is only open for lunch except for the first Thursday of the month, and it is definitely worth the stop. It is located in the Mildred building which creates this awesome atmosphere before you even walk in. The staff are all really friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. I usually get the half sandwich of pecan crusted chicken on focaccia bread with a side of spinach salad with raspberry vinegarette and a cup of either butternut squash soup or tomato basil soup. The sandwich is so good with little bites of pecans throughout. The salad has so many goodies on it (tomatoes, olives, bacon, feta, etc.) that it creates a flavor explosion in your mouth. The soups are so warm and robust that I could eat so much more than the cup. The portions are great and leave you full without being overstuffed. Great atmosphere, great people, and great food!
google avatar

Jerad S.

Yelp
This is a place that is elegantly casual! Order your food at the bar, get a drink and have a seat. There was very little wait time and the quality of the food was delightful, if needed I would have gladly waited longer. There are no servers so you have to pick up your food from the counter, one of the reasons there is very little wait time. My wife and I ordered the artichoke and mushroom soup (which was absolutely splendid), an avocado and mango salad (surprisingly complimentary) and a fish taco that was perfect for the summer heat. This is a place that I will defiantly be revisiting!

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch while in Beaumont for the day. What a great little place! Located in the Mildred building which is a treat in itself! The watermelon gazpacho was perfect for a hot day! Just the right amount of flavor and spice. Nicely filled out with diced tomato and peppers. The turkey and avocado sandwich was fresh and tasty. Good bread! The special side of the day was quinoa which was delish. Filled out with bits of apricot, peppers, herbs and spices it really hit the spot. I love the selection of drinks arrayed on the counter in tall glass cylinder dispensers. Attractive and enticing! Love the lemonade. With so many choices it was hard to decide what to drink! Definitely a place to visit again the next time I am in town!
