Katherine Anne Confections

We visited Katherine Anne’s and tried their hot chocolate flight—what a unique experience! It included three types: Mexican, Hazelnut, and Semi-Sweet. The Mexican hot chocolate had a spicy kick, which is great if you love spice, but not quite our preference. The Hazelnut was incredible—my husband absolutely loved it and gulped it down! As for me, the Semi-Sweet was my favorite—perfectly balanced for those without a major sweet tooth. The service was top-notch, and the servers were super friendly and attentive. Highly recommend this place for cozy vibes and delicious hot chocolates!

Five Stars! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I can’t say enough good things about Katherine Anne Confections! From the moment I opened the box, I knew I was in for something special. The Truffle Ganache Collection was absolutely divine—each piece was a perfect balance of rich, velvety chocolate and thoughtfully crafted flavors that melted in my mouth. And the toffee? Out of this world—crisp, buttery, and completely addictive. This is, without a doubt, the best chocolate I have ever had. I will absolutely be ordering more and highly recommend to anyone who appreciates quality, creativity, and care in every bite. A must-try for any serious chocolate lover!

BEST DRINKING CHOCOLATE!!! Thick, luscious, and flavorful. If you don’t like this place, than that means you probably don't actually like chocolate. I'd recommend the 3 hot cocoa flights and especially the milk chocolate drinking cocoa. The staff were also very friendly. Warm, welcoming, and cozy!!

This is the best confections place I have been to in Chicago and it’s not even debatable…kind of like what the top 2 presidential candidates are doing 😬 They have a location in Logan Square, but this one just opened up a couple of months ago, and it gives you all the sweet vibes a confections shop should. You want to know about the sweets? I know! We got 2 truffles. They do a lot of experimenting, so depending on the time of year you stop by, they will have flavors true to that season for you to pick from. We ended up getting a goat cheese walnut and a sweet corn cilantro truffle. I loved the sweet corn one because it made no sense to my simple mind for it to be this good in chocolate form. The goat cheese walnut is like when Drake and 21 Savage get together—a rich flex! My favorite, though, was the chocolate milkshake. The great thing about this place is there's no powdered nonsense; it's all pure, real, unadulterated chocolate. The milkshake was no different. The first sip of it, I could immediately taste the difference, and it instantly pumped chocolate into my veins and transported me to a higher level of living. It was so smooth, so decadent, and so damn necessary! It was a warm summer day, so the only reason to look forward to the cold will be to come back and enjoy the much-hyped hot chocolate!

Visited with a friend today. The cafe is pretty but it felt more like I was walking into a Crate&Barrel. It felt bland and stuffy. Like, yes, this is definitely the off limits living room of some lady named Katherine Anne. I ordered an iced latte with vanilla. It wasn't anything special. I also had a bacon caramel which wasn't great. It gave me dog treat vibes tbh. The bathroom was very clean. The barista was very nice. It was just too Home&Garden for me and I found it boring and a little uncomfortable.

Great addition to the neighborhood. Intensely awesome hot chocolate is to be expected but they also have excellent array of sandwiches and caramels. Ideal place to sit and read on a rainy day. High recommended.

I tried to find a coffee nearby, and for my surprise, I found Katherine Anne. The location look so beautiful, plants and colors around, I try the latte ( they have almond and oats milk ) and was amazing. Next time I'm going to be more aventure and try some of the delicious things here. Excelente customer service

The drinking chocolate changed my life!! I had no idea something this good existed in the world. The marshmallows were amazing. 🤤 This place is super cute and everyone is friendly. We will definitely be returning to try all the flavors.

This is one of the best dessert places in the city. Easily. What you are here is for their drinking chocolate. And that's what it is. High quality chocolate. I'm sure I am underselling it but it is INCREDIBLE. You get to pick a homemade marshmallow as well which is torched. I could write and write about the velvety, rich, dense, concoction I just drank but I honestly couldn't do it justice. Oh I also got a marshmallow cookie... and those marshmallows were also torched. SO GOOD. The chocolate was layered inside the cookie. I cannot even. If you have a sweet tooth or like chocolate... even a little check this place out. It's SO GOOD

I wanted to love it. I have been obsessed with drinking chocolate lately, and we tried the mini flight. We had Mexican, buttered rum, peppermint mocha, super dark, salted caramel. Mexican was VERY good, along with super dark. The other flavors were very very sweet, but it is chocolate I guess. The peppermint mocha was almost not drinkable, as it was more of a white chocolate flavor than mocha. We also had a cortado, and the coffee used was so acid. Not great. The immediate service was also not welcoming. The baristas ignored us, they were busy but never bothered to look up or acknowledge us. Even walking around us to serve a drink, but not one hello. When we were asked what we would like, I inquired about a high chair and she said "I don't know, I don't think so" without bothering to find out. Which is only weird bc they have kids play things around? So I thought it would be a family friendly place, including having high chairs. I guess not. The baristas was cold and just not friendly honestly. I would give the place a 6/10, I would try the other location in hopes of better service, which is sad because this is closer to us.

Katherine Anne Confections is located on Irving Park near Elston. My lovely wife and I popped in one day to try out the drinking chocolate. Mmmm it's a rich cup of chocolate goodness. We enjoyed sipping our treat in a pleasant setting. The young lady serving us was very friendly too.

I love the iced hot chocolate. I've definitely gone back several times for this. I'ves noticed lately that they added a $1 for iced option. Also they took out the free marshmallow for the iced hot chocolate. I'm a sucker for marshmallows and have tried many of the wonderful flavours. I do find the marshmallows to be on the sweet side. Looking forward to a mint matcha flavor :)

I used to go to the Logan Square location but moved so I am very glad they have this location. I come here to buy almost all of my gifts for people because their chocolates are so good. I don't consider myself a huge chocolate person but you can taste the extra care that goes into making the chocolates and unique flavors are so good. The texture of their caramel in the chocolates is perfect too. The price point reflects the quality so I don't mind spending a little more for something that is this good.

We love Katherine Anne's! The best drinking chocolate in Chicago and the service is always so great. I got their iced mango coconut drinking chocolate and it was so good. I also love the whipped cream that they put on their drinks! The space here is so bright and clean and parking is usually pretty easy to find along Irving park. Their bathrooms are also well stocked even with diapers!

The drinking chocolates at Katherine Anne are incredible. First time trying their seasonal basil drinking chocolate- I LOVE their indulgent regular menu of drinking chocolates, great to try seasonal and unique flavor combos, hope they keep the seasonal menu up. This is a perfect neighborhood spot- great that they opened a second location. This is a perfect winter haunt, date with your daughter, lady friend meet up, treat yourself space. KID TIP- very kid friendly space, big restroom, kid menu chocolates.

The drinking chocolate with their homemade salted caramel marshmallow is a must! The owner was extremely helpful and welcoming.
