The 38 Essential Omaha Restaurants

"Since it opened, Kathmandu Momo Station has kept its menu and its focus refreshingly small: three types of momos (vegetarian, chicken, and pork), a small selection of sauces, and a few other dishes, like tea leaf salad and coconut shrimp. Don’t miss co-owner Aagya Subedi’s Burmese ramen. The original Blackstone location shares space with Scriptown Brewing, and there’s a second inside Inner Rail Food Hall." - Sarah Baker Hansen

Didn't expect to find good Asian food in Omaha, particularly Nepalese! Stopped by for a weekday lunch and we were the only people in the restaurant. Our server was very kind and helpful, as neither of us are familiar with Nepalese cuisine. The lunch menu is quite limited - your food options are aloo chops, which are deep fried crispy potato patties and fried/steamed momos (Nepalese dumplings) in pork, chicken, or vegan. We ordered the aloo chops and steamd pork + chicken momos. Everything was delicious! I'd recommend getting all four sauces too - they really add to the momos. Pricing was very fair as well. Definitely worth a visit!

Dumplings and beef hot dogs are delicious. After eating dumplings, we added an extra portion.

We ordered steamed and "fried" Momo along with a side of pork belly. The steamed Momo was served on a plate rather than a steamer basket, causing them to stick together slightly. The pork filling had a good flavor but benefited from dipping sauces to enhance the taste. However, the available sauces leaned on the sweeter side. I requested soy sauce with julienned ginger, which complemented the steamed Momo well. The "fried" Momo was deep-fried rather than pan-fried and seemed to have been cooked in oil that had been used multiple times, resulting in a greasy texture. The accompanying sauces, which were also on the sweeter side, added to the richness. We each had two pieces but found them a bit heavy to continue. The pork belly was a standout—tender and flavorful—though it also leaned toward a sweeter profile. Service was polite and courteous overall. However, I did notice a couple of cleanliness concerns: the server’s thumb resting inside the plate while serving and a straw being placed in my drink without a sleeve after being handled by hand. Edit: So, not touching the food is the standard now? Basic hygiene isn’t optional—it’s expected. This really missed the mark. I appreciate you taking the time, though it seems more about feeling good about the service than addressing the concern.

Visited last night for some snacks and dessert and it was a treat! We had the fried chicken momos as well as the croquettes, pochinki, and matcha panna cotta. I absolutely loved the pineapple jam that came with the croquettes, the slight acidity and sweetness did well to counter the savory elements. The momos and pochinki were fried to perfection, and the panna cotta had a great flavor. I’d like to come back for a full meal some time!

We had a wonderful dinner a few weeks ago. Everything was made expertly, you can tell that the chefs are passionate about what they do. Staff and service were exceptional. Drinks were well mixed. Would absolutely recommend for a fancier date night, or a casual spot. Perfect for both. Will visit again next time we are in Omaha.

I visited Omaha for a family gathering, and we decided to eat out. I've been craving momo for a long time, and as a vegetarian, it's challenging to find good vegetarian options. Luckily, I discovered a hidden gem called Momo Station. I must say, the vegan momo was perfect. It was juicy and had a mild flavor on its own, but when paired with the slightly tangy and spicy chutney, it created a burst of flavors in my mouth. For my main course, I had tagliatelle with burrata cheese. I wasn't expecting much, but I was pleasantly surprised—the pasta was exquisite and has quickly become one of my favorites. I can't imagine how they manage to prepare other dishes with such perfection. Now, for the best part: the drinks. I ordered a Manhattan, and it was so good that I ended up having three glasses! If you want to know how great it is, you have to check out this place. My relatives, who are non-vegetarians, ordered fish and meat dishes and loved them. The service was exceptional. Although I can't remember my server's name, she went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. We were also fortunate that the sous chef visited our table to explain the artistry behind the dishes. So, it's a resounding yes from me! If you're in Omaha, you must visit Momo Station, where the prices are very affordable compared to other restaurants. Here are some pictures that will surely entice you to check out “KATHMANDU MOMO STATION.”

Fantastic meal, we had lunch and were well taken care of by the owners and chef. We were explained the slight difference in Nepalese dumplings and what to expect and told the best sauce pairings based on our orders. Loved it!

Was looking for something different that I couldn’t get back home and I got the jackpot. So delicious. I had the pork dumplings with the mild sauce and I grabbed an extra sweet chili sauce to change it up. Chinese dumplings with an Indian style sauce. Fantastic. Great cocktail too. :)
