Excellent local Italian restaurant serving Woodlawn Heights (Bronx) and Southeast Yonkers!
Katonah PIzza & Pasta is the #1 choice that my girlfriend and I can agree on whenever I am with her in her home - it's been her #1 choice for most of her life growing up in southeast Yonkers and it has become my #1 choice ever since we've been dating for a few years as of writing. In this review, I have not yet dined physically at the restaurant and have always ordered takeaway through third-party delivery companies. It is worth noting that on GrubHub/Seamless, the restaurant uses their own drivers to deliver those orders while other third-party delivery services use the respective service's drivers to deliver.
I've had more of Katonah's pasta than the pizza, but they keep me coming back this way. The first time I had ordered from them was in mid-2020 when I was in the mood for Spaghetti Bolognese, but I would never be able to find a place with a flavourful meat sauce like that elsewhere in the world - Katonah delivered on the missing elements that separates bland Italian restaurants in the U.S. to those that truly care about their food. With that, I began growing more curious and, the following week, I was amazed yet again with a helping of Fettuccine Alfredo. After trying their Carbonara, I was basically under the impression that they could not make a bad pasta dish and I still am not wrong to this day.
Because I cannot make any remarks about the physical restaurant itself, I can only speak of the delivery service, preferably by their drivers, and I am pleased to say that the food does travel well and often arrives on-time (even during this past big game day Sunday!) Be sure to tip their drivers well when they can deliver to you. I will, one day, try their food at their restaurant as soon as it is prepared, maybe I will be blown away further than ever before!
In the Northeast, there is a battle for which region, state, city/municipality, neighbourhood, family, etc. has the best Italian cuisine second-to-none. My girlfriend says this is, by far, the best out of all that deliver or are located around her home and I can, by far, say that I'm in agreement with her 100% on this. Since I'm considering moving into the neighbourhood, finding a go-to Italian restaurant is a strong step in the northeastern U.S. to making a new area feel like home - it's an odd cultural thing and you'd have to be here to make sense of it all.
