"Katsu Burger — the local fast food chain known for its Japanese-influenced menu with breaded burgers, nori fries, and green tea shakes — is about to debut a new restaurant-bakery in Edmonds called, appropriately enough, Katsu Burger & Bakery, at 22618 Highway 99. Among the items coming out of the oven will be house-made milk brioche buns for the regular lineup of burgers, as well as a selection of Asian desserts such as mini pies, palmiers in matcha and kinako-black sesame flavors, cookies, and croissant-muffin hybrids." - Gabe Guarente

Ok, wow. Impulsively decided to order online takeout here and we were all very impressed. Online menu is easy to use and very customizable. Order was ready in 15min exactly as stated. The PORTIONS - hefty. The fries, crispy. The dipping sauces, flavorful. And the burgers - deliciously messy. Prepare to get cabbage and sauce all over the place in the most glorious manner. So freaking good. I got the Wasabi burger with vegan meat and it was impeccable, and you could not clock that it wasn't real meat. Also their Chai milkshake was so good, the perfect texture and a wonderful autumn flavor choice. Definitely want to try their breakfast style burger next time, and their kinako black sesame milkshake! :)

I think I REALLY underestimated the size of the food here, but now I think I REALLY like this place. When I was first looking at the menu, everything looked pretty good, but I was starving at the time, so I felt like devouring a huge burger. I originally was going to get the Tokyo Tower because it seemed like it would satisfy my appetite, but instead I just got the Tokyo Classic. Let me tell you, I am so glad I got the classic because, man... these burgers are absolutely massive! I really underestimated the size, and I couldn't even imagine myself finishing a Tokyo Tower. The Tokyo Tower was like double the size of the classic and seemed like something you would have on Man vs Food! Anyways, the burger was just so delicious. I got the beef katsu patty, and instead of raw onions I got grilled onions. Literally every ingredient complimented each other and worked perfectly together, I'm not kidding, and you have so many different textures and sensations. You have the freshness and slight crunch from the cabbage and tomatoes, creaminess from the light mayo, sweetness from the luscious tonkatsu sauce, a nice memory of a hot summer day from the perfectly grilled onions, and the crunchy and crisp, but also tender and juicy patty. All of this inside those nice, tan, soft, buns! Just amazing. On the other hand, the fries were also spectacular! We got the curry fries, and of course we had to get the award winning nori fries. Opening the bag and getting a wiff of the fries was heavenly. I guess I'll stary with the curry fries, as they were my least favorite out of the two, but they still were some of the best. fries I have had. So the curry fries were cooked to golden brown perfection with an amazing crunch to them, and they were also coated generously with curry powder. Not only did they taste amazing but they smelled amazing too. The one thing that I did have against these fries was that it made my fingers smell like curry powder for a whole day. Not that that is a very bad thing, but I just couldn't stop eating them. Next up, the award winning nori fries which were my favorite of the day. One of my favorite flavors or tastes is umami. It is just so rich and luxurious and is kind of a "fancy" flavor, or elegant flavor, and these nori fries had the perfect hint of umami. It was like a kiss of umami, and on top of that was the perfect crispness of the fries, and the fluffy, soft warm interior. Such a well executed fry. Finally, the last thing I tried were the banzai bites. I mean there isn't much too them except they were also bomb! Super crispy, and flavorful, but slightly tough if I'm being honest, and we got the chicken. Overall, everything is very good, and this might be a go-to place for me now, and in the future I want to try and tackle the beast, the Tokyo Tower or the Mt. Fuji!

10/25. The store just opened this week. Very limited selections for being a "bakery", but being that we are in a pandemic, I can understand why. There were pastry 8 selections (when we went): canolis, and 5 different flavors of pastry sticks, and couple other types of pastries. The matcha sticks are crunchy on the outside and the matcha cream is not too sweet, but the flavor is not great. The other pastry types are decent. Prices are reasonable. Will be back to try the burgers, but if they are like other locations, they should be of good and consistent quality that we're used to.

Great to have an easy to reach location in N. Seattle compared to driving to South Georgetown or North Lynnwood to get that tasty Katsu flav. Quick service and I appreciated the bakery samples included with my WabiWasabi burger today- it was super good, but the patty hadn’t been cooked all the way through so I found a large raw spot in the middle. Other than that it’s convenient, easy parking, and why not get some Korean groceries or Vietnamese deli in the same lot :).

Burgers are huge and lots of fries. Extra flavorful food and decent price unlike other places out there! Got 3 different kinds of burgers, fries, a couple shakes and cannoli all under $50. I got a Groupon.

This burger place is really great! It’s unique and extremely flavorful. We got two Godzilla burgers and they were amazing (not that spicy to me). My boyfriend is still drooling. Two burgers and fries felt like ten pounds of food, which was too much for me (not for my boyfriend though). Anyone with a huge appetite will be super happy with the portion here. I could only eat half on the burger. The meat was super moist and just overall very nicely done. The fries were a very large portion, one fry is enough to share between two people. The fries were also good and the spices are clever. The chocolate shake was also very good and very different than I’ve had, it tasted almost like a frostie? (although a tad expensive for the size.) They even threw in some little treats which was a very nice touch that adds value. I definitely recommend this place as it’s worth trying!

Have ordered Ninja Deluxe with fries at 3 different Katsu locations north Seattle. This one in Edmonds made the best sandwich!! It was fresh, cutlet and bacon were crispy, and just the right amount of condiments. Yum!!! I have to use knife & fork it was so big.
