Katsu Burger Opens Its New Location in Kent, Washington | Eater Seattle

"At the new Kent location at 6621 S 211th Street I noticed the same dining-room vibe as other spots but with an eye-catching mural of Godzilla eating a burger and fighting a samurai robot in front of the Seattle skyline and Mount Rainier. The local Japanese fried-patty franchise began as a small Georgetown restaurant in 2011 and has grown to nine Puget Sound locations (this is the chain’s second spot south of Seattle proper, after Federal Way). I’d describe the menu as decadent — the Mt. Fuji is a standout, a burger stuffed with three katsu patties (chicken, beef, and pork) and topped with egg, bacon, cheese, wasabi mayo, and tonkatsu sauce — and all the usual items are on offer while the new place ramps up service before a grand opening. Their burgers are prepared katsu style (dipped in tempura batter, coated in panko, then deep fried), and they note they use meats free from growth hormones and antibiotics. Current hours are Monday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m." - Gabe Guarente

On my exploration of Seattle, I drove by a few Katsu Burger (Japanese theme) and has always been curious. I walked in and loved the Godzilla wall mural. So why not a Godzilla Burger ( breaded beef patty). Love the generous layers. I definitely will come back and try the Ronin Burger

I went to get some burgers with some friends on March 3rd, 2025. I looked at the menu and happened to see that they had a SpongeBob collaboration meal. The portions were huge! The food hasn't failed me yet. The Mango Shake was a bit too sweet for me but besides that, this is my go to spot for burgers. I highly recommend any burger lovers to try this place if you're in the area. Random note, the SpongeBob meal in this place is way better then Wendy's version.

Google
Very impressive burger! I like Katsu, and I like burgers together was absolutely amazing! As soon as you walk in, your welcomed. The staff is friendly, fast, and very informative when you ask about the items on the menu. Ordered the Classic Katsu Burger, one with beef the other chicken, and one order of Nori fries. The burgers were very well seasoned, as well as nicely breaded and the fries were delicious too. Will definitely recommend this establishment.

Google
Entered skeptical and a little turned off by the price. Left having had one of the best sandwiches of my life. Absolutely recommend dining in and eating while the burger and fries are as fresh as possible. Store is clean and atmosphere is pleasant. Will absolutely be back.

Google
Super impressed by the Japanese style burgers!!! We had the Godzilla Attack and the Miso Honey Tofu burgers. They are SO crispy and packed with flavor! The finely shredded cabbage and onion in the burger just make it so much better then the American version. I as a vegetarian was super grateful about the option to sub almost all the burgers with a tofu katsu! Highly recommended for all the vegetarian friends out there! 🌱

Google
I got the teriyaki chicken, and it was massive and delicious! I also got the korokke with Curry Mayo, which was also very good. I will definitely eat the food again repeatedly. This was a doordash order, so I can't wait to see the location!

David M.

Google
Food was great! I absolutely enjoyed my godzilla burger. Called in and the wait was only 10 minutes. Arrived in about that time and the food was bagged and ready to go. $14 for the burger alone. Kind of pricey but worth it.

Vladimir S.

Google
It’s was a really great burger, tasty and BIG! Fries was also good, got vasabi mayo with it but I think bbq would work better (but it’s a question of taste ofc)

Yelp
We were on the hunt for a late lunch and Katsu Burger came up out of the ocean of results like Godzilla himself. It roared to us and we were beckoned to Katsu Burger like Mothra to Godzilla. There's not much interaction with the staff and or the kitchen so know that going in. Order off the kiosk and take your time even if there's a line of people behind you as there a lot of customization they can be done to your order. My companion ordered the Godzilla Attack while I was undecided between the Impossible Katsu and the Miso Honey Tofu Katsu. Note: Essentially, you can make any Katsu burger with Tofu - just use the customization options. Note 2: Off to the left of the Kiosk ordering screen is an explanation of the sauces and the seasonings for the fries. Take a look to find out what you want when you order a meal. My Impossible Katsu was LE-GEN-DARY. I will talking about this burger for awhile. While you think you can cut it, guess again, it ain't happening. Just squish down and open your mouth à la Godzilla style when he lets loose his radioactive breathe. The decor everywhere is on point even in the bathroom located in the back. I know you're asking, did I finish it ? Did I crush it ? Hells yeah I did. Just like Godzilla would have. If you're in the area or willing to make the drive, check out Katsu burger. Order your burger and feed your inner Godzilla.

Yelp
Burgers are amazing. Service was fast as well; they brought your foods to you. The place is super chill and have tons of anime decorations and posters. The burgers are hot and juicy and massive.

Yelp
Great place! Katsu Burger never disappoints no matter which location I've been to. The vibe reminds me of a 2000s shop. I also like the touch screen ordering menu. As minimal as service was, I felt welcomed. The worker greeted us despite us ordering from a touch screen, she brought out the food, and even told us to have a good day after we finished. The shop was also very clean and well organized. In terms of food, the Ranch Kudasai with chicken was sooo delicious. I loved the ample cabbage to make me feel just a little healthier and also helped balance out any saltiness. They do not skimp on the sauce! Nori fries were also a hit. Can't wait to go back.
google avatar

Anna M.

Yelp
The burger was big, very flavorful. The wasabi Mayo hits your nose pretty strongly initially and through all bites, I'd say it was a little too overpowering. And I'd have liked a thicker pineapple slice. Overall it was good and I'd come again to try another burger. Restaurant was clean. Oh and the pineapple crème soda was tasty.

Oscar G.

Yelp
Great curry and great burgers. It's a small place next the hotel but it was amazing. Would definitely recommend to anyone traveling thru the area.
google avatar

Paulo L.

Yelp
Big Big Big like Godzilla Monster Big. With the right balance of topping, it was not heavy. Love the buns... very different from a standard hamburger buns or brioche but still tasty. It did not compete with the Beef Katsu.
google avatar

Maria G.

Yelp
Great customer service and an amazing burger! My son and I were in the mood for a good burger and decided to check this place out. We weren't quite sure how to order at first, but the gentleman behind the counter was incredibly helpful and walked us through the process. The service was friendly, and the food did not disappoint -- the burger was delicious! We'll definitely be back.
google avatar

Jenny C.

Yelp
Order was ready on time but incomplete. Cheese was missing from 1 burger. Sauce was missing from the fries Fries were over seasoned and numbingly salty. The texture was also never crispy to begin with. Burger itself was good in terms of flavor combination Service was good
google avatar

Jon H.

Yelp
This was my first visit, and I was really impressed. The burger was outstanding -- juicy, well-seasoned, and cooked exactly as ordered. The ingredients were clearly high quality, and everything tasted fresh. Service was friendly and efficient, and the meal came out quickly. Overall, a great experience for a casual bite, and I'd definitely come back if I lived closer!
google avatar

Kyle T.

Yelp
We'll definitely be back! Godzilla mushroom melt, Katsu dog, and Katsu honey miso sandwich with tofu were all delicious. fries and coleslaw were good too.
google avatar

Alan Z.

Yelp
Went on a weekend morning and it wasn't busy. Got the godzilla attack and was served pretty quickly. Burger was massive as expected and it was pretty good. Had a little bit of spice but nothing super strong. I liked how much veggies it had. Katsu was crunchy but the burger was a little bit on the taller side so it was a little difficult to eat.

Paul S.

Yelp
The burger I ate was mushy. Fries were OK. The workers were nice and it was clean. I wouldn't go back
google avatar

Jay J.

Yelp
These burgers are huge! The ingredients are fresh and the katsu portions are big. The sandwiches have great flavors. Love the red onions! We had never tried a beef katsu before, it had an amazing flavor! I tried the samurai burger. Good flavors all around. The pineapple slice was a bit tough, but maybe just a 1-off. Pro-tip: don't trust the paper wrapper. Both of ours failed mid-burger and caused a surprise mess. You have been warned. :) Highly recommended when you're in the mood for something different.

Yelp
Pretty awesome restaurant, prices are very satisfying, food is delicious. Godzilla Attack burger, katsu chicken with seaweed notorious fries. Service is excellent hospitality superb. Very friendly staff.

Yelp
Walked in and the owner immediately greeted us even though he was busy at a table working on his computer. The dining room was clean, as was the restrooms. We came around 3 pm. It wasn't busy at the time. The woman behind the counter answered all our questions very patiently as the menu is pretty vast. You order at a POS system. There is a kiosk/ POS Provider fee ($0.53). Take your receipt and find your own seating. The owner brought us our meal to our table. We ordered 2 burgers, 2 orders of banzai bites (pork & chicken), nori fries, 12 spice fries, and a kinako and sesame shake. I expected more of a wait, but was pleasantly surprised when it came out within 10-12 minutes. My Katsu burger was excellent. I liked the nori fries, but sampled my sister's 12 spice fries and liked them over my nori fries. I surprisingly enjoyed the unique kinako & sesame shake. I drank it down so quickly. Truly enjoyed this spot. If you're ever in Seattle. Give 'em a try. Your tastebuds will thank you.

Yelp
Friendly staff, fast service , and tasty food! Everything we have tried here is so bomb!
google avatar

Yelp
We've tried the one in Bellevue and it's always good. We were in the area, so decided this may be good too. Called in an order. Had it ready when we got there. It's not as busy as the one in Bellevue. Had a couple of shakes, nori fries, 3 burgers (tofu, Tokyo). Their shakes are excellent. I'd pay nearly $10 for this type of burger rather than Red Robins. I like their cabbage. It's less watery and has more crunch. It's a small place. I like the one in Federal Way - ambiance wise. This one feels more like a take-out joint, similar to the one in Bellevue. Overall, good experience.
google avatar

Amira A.

Yelp
In my opinion I definitely had better burgers especially for that price! The strawberry cheesecake milkshake was really good on the bright side!
google avatar

Vy D.

Yelp
It was our first time here and we were excited to try it. The store is very small, there's not a lot of seating, but there is a large parking lot outside. We dined in and the store was freezing, but ultimately we decided to stay. We got the Curry and Samurai burgers and 12 spice fries. The Curry burger was absolutely fantastic. The flavor was good, made well, and toppings were complimentary. The Samurai was also delicious, but I should have left the wasabi off because it was a bit inconsistent for me. Everything else about the burger was good! We really enjoyed it, but felt that it was a bit expensive for the meals, but overall, a good meal and tasted well made and delicious. The fries were so good, seasoned with a great blend of spices and was the perfect side dish, but this is an add on for an additional price. Overall, I think it's a great and unique concept. The burgers were made well, fries were delicious, and staff was nice. I would recommend the katsu burgers!

Yelp
Outstanding food. Love this place. Would highly recommend to my friends and family. Wish you guys had one in Bremerton

Yelp
Delicious and Satisfying! Pleasant change from the normal run of the mill burgers! Nice that you can pick your choice of protein. Beef, Chicken, Pork, Tofu, or Impossible! Also, you can customize your toppings, such as adding an egg, pineapple, mushrooms, grilled onions, gauc, ginger, et al.
google avatar

jen h.

Yelp
Wow. This place was amazing. Burger was delectable and the fries were umami. I wish I had this place in California. I will come visit my sister more often just so I can visit Katsu Burger. Delicious!
google avatar

Erica C.

Yelp
The burger is sure to make you full! Any sandwich you choose, you get to pick the protein, chicken, beef, pork and the veggie option. The kiosk self ordering at the front I love because it is easy to use and understand. If you're taking out, I suggest calling or going inside to order. It'll save you couple bucks from online ordering take out- I noticed there was a decent price difference (normal because of online service fees). They do have a restroom to use, doesn't need a key or code and is clean. In a strip mall with Starbucks and has ample amount of parking.
google avatar

Debra W.

Yelp
3.5 stars. It's decent eats but nothing that leaves me feeling more than eh, it was alright. I love options for all the different types of katsu burgers. Most are completely customizable too. You can change your protein if you desire - pork, beef, tofu, etc. these burgers are BIG. Be prepared to hunker down, squeeze on that sandwich and open your mouth big. They do not skimp on these bad boys. I really adore how they serve the fries but they do not hold up well when ordering as take out. The fries get cold entirely too fast. On my most recent visit, the fries seemed old. Like they had been sitting under a heat lamp too long. But what I do love about their fries is the pack of flavor. The 12 spice and nori fries are my fave. The dipping sauces are fire too. I'd go back again but I think I'd prefer to eat in to see if I get a different experience with my good.
google avatar

Alex D.

Yelp
Pros: -Variety of menu and sauces -Quality of food was outstanding. You can tell time and thought have gone into each menu item. -The inside is beyond clean and cared for -Presentation of the food was very cool with hand drawn images on the wrapper Cons: -Small location might want to try out not at lunch time. I can not recommend this place enough. Living in Tacoma this is somewhere I would make the drive just to go back to again and again. It is a 5/5 for me.
google avatar

Lisa S.

Yelp
I ordered takeout for my son for his lunch today they burnt the crap out of everything and then would not refund the money easy to send out your burnt crappy food for delivery then refuse to make it good. I'm sorry I've been an apology. Has not enough for a $30 lunch that is inedible

Tarah M.

Yelp
Visiting from Hawaii and decided to check this place out. Food was deliciously satisfying!!! And the best part was how friendly and accommodating the staff treated us. We ordered takeout but decided to dine in, they were pleased to serve us. Mahalo Katsu Burger of Kent, WA!

Yelp
Katsu Burger in my neck of the woods?!?! Houston, we're going to have a very tasty problem! I decided to wait several weeks after I heard about soft opening to give them time to find their flow, but based on reviews that was probably unnecessary. I opted for a semi-early lunch on a weekday and found the place packed. No place to sit with several people waiting for their orders packed! I really wanted to eat it there, but the parking lot was pretty crazy and I wasn't going to walk away from that battle empty handed! As a side note: take the effort to back in when you park if it's busy. Seriously. I went with a honey miso tofu burger and seaweed salad. Service was super friendly and quick! I also have to give props for how clean they were keeping everything especially for how busy it was! Home is kinda far so I decided to flip the burger upside down in the hopes that the bun wouldn't get super soggy. To my delight it wasn't soggy at all! Cold, yes, but that's 100% on me (...and all the people that took all the seating!) In hindsight it'd probably be okay in a warm oven. It's been several years since I've had Katsu Burger and it was just a good as I remembered! Definitely missed getting the nori fires (my favourite!!!), but that just gives me an excuse to go there again sometime soon so I can dine-in and get everything hot. Not your average burgers, which is what makes them awesome!! If you're on the fence about trying this place: just go!
google avatar

Richard K.

Yelp
Mary Jesus Joseph, this is one of the best burger joints I have ever been too! Not exactly your classic burger. But for sure one of the best burgers I ever had. Service is super fast (for not being fast food) and service is friendly. Oh the shakes.... Killer shakes! Also love their Nori fries! But let's not talk about their bathroom.... Cause it's smells quite pungent! Lol
google avatar

Dennis D.

Yelp
Menchi Sando! Can't beat a Japanese fried burger. And they have pork katsu curry! Nom! I recommend the curry fries. They're crispy delicious, with a spicy kick!

Elena M.

Yelp
The burger I got was so good, and different from what I'm used to. The food has so much flavor, and the burgers are cooked to perfection. They fry the burgers I believe in some breading? I was skeptical at first, but the more I was eating, the more I was tasting the flavors. I definitely recommend. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and the waitress is such hard worker. She would even run at times to make sure we get the food very fast.
google avatar

Brandi C.

Yelp
Mmm so good. The Tokyo Classic burger is really good and it's just a little bit under the size of being able to fill you up, so another burger or a side is recommended. It's my first time trying their milkshakes! I got the black sesame one and it was fantastic. The sweetness is very mild (rare given that milkshakes are usually a sugar mountain of sweetness) so the grounded, earthy black sesame taste was very apparent. I think it really complemented the mild sweetness and savory flavor of the burger well! Katsu Burger is one of my favorite chains for its consistency, lack of greasiness/exaggerated flavors, and the fresh tastes! The Kent location continues that trend. Would recommend.
google avatar

Jason H.

Yelp
We love this place. Second time we enjoyed better than the first. Seasons fries are amazing. The burgers have been so exciting. I can't wait to go back and try another combination!
google avatar

Eid F.

Yelp
That was a huge delicious and satisfying sandwich. I honestly don't remember what the name of it was but it had an egg, coleslaw, all the normal burger fixings, with substituted chicken katsu patty for the beef burger. It was gigantic... I ended up having to cut it in half and still couldn't take a normal bite. Also ordered some fires with seaweed flakes.

S. M.

Yelp
I had actually planned on eating at another place, but then I saw Katsu Burger and decided to give it a try since I've never eaten there. I ordered the Pork Katsu Bento and French fries. The pork katsu was nice and crispy and the curry lacked any hamburger and had a slight sweet taste to it. The French fries looked good but tasted like it had been sitting under the heat lamp for hours. When they brought me my bento, I asked for chopstick and they told me they don't have chopsticks, which I thought was strange. A Japanese restaurant not having chopsticks??? I've tried this place but next time I'll eat at the place I had originally planned on going to.
google avatar

Brian C.

Yelp
First time trying Katsu Burger.... I know, I know..I'm late to the game, but better late than never. My order consisted of: Godzilla Attack Tokyo Tower - customized with one beef and one chicken katsu with pepper jack cheese Nori Fries Kinako & Black Sesame Milkshake The Godzilla Attack was really good, probably my favorite out of the two with a nice kick. I'm a little conflicted because I liked the chicken katsu patty more than the beef katsu in the Tokyo Tower. The burgers themselves are big and messy, so if you're not ready to get down and dirty, this is not the place for you. That being said, the flavors were really good and the sauces on the burgers definitely enhanced the flavor of the meat. The Nori fries were nicely seasoned and the Kinako & Black Sesame milkshake had a peanut butter profile with a black sesame twist. I found it to be good but it might be an acquired taste. The milkshake straw was too narrow and it was really hard to suck up the milkshake. Otherwise it was a solid experience. I think I will try the Godzilla Attack with chicken next time. That combination might be the winner for me! Note, this is not the place to go right before you have blood work. A nice place to visit for an occasional treat.
google avatar

May D.

Yelp
I think their burgers are huge and great! I always get so full after finishing the whole burger. My favorite is their Godzilla Attack and Honey Miso Tofu. Their patties are pretty thick and juicy (for meats) and burgers have generous amount of veggies/toppings and sauce. The bun is nothing special but it's soft and thick. For sides, I love their 12 Spices Blend (spicy) fries, it's not that spicy but so flavorful, it comes with a dipping sauce and I like to pair it with Curry Mayo Sauce. Their regular fries are great too.

BZ K.

Yelp
This place is pretty good, interesting take on a burger to cook it katsu style. Had the Godzilla burger, not too spicy. The curry fries were excellent with curry mayo.
google avatar

Cardin N.

Yelp
Awesome burger and fries. I will definitely be back more often since the location is so close to home. Delicious quick meal.
google avatar

Declan C.

Yelp
Got the Kanna Akuma sandwich for delivery and it was the best chicken sandwich I've had in the Seattle area. The chicken was flavorful and juicy, and the pickled veggies were delicious. The side of ranch made it a perfect mixture with the kick of the pickled jalapeño. I will for sure be trying more things on the menu. Would recommend for a high quality chicken sandwich.

Yelp
If you are adventurous and like to try new things, here's a spot for you! Katsu is a deep fried protein, mainly pork or chicken. It's thin sliced and battered with panko for that crunchy exterior. Here at Katsu Burger, you can also choose beef or tofu. Their burgers are larger than your average fast food burgers. You get fillers such as thin sliced cabbage, your thick cut bacon, pickles, tomatoes, red onions, jalapenos, and even an egg. The sauces are endless, such as their curry mayo, tonkatsu sauce, Japanese mayo, miso honey mustard, or spicy mayo. Don't forget your fries, which also come with different spices for whatever mood you may be in. They have the regular sea salt fries, nori fries (seaweed flakes), curry fries, and a 12 spice fries, which is a little spicy and sweet. I've tried their korokke, which is a fried croquette with potatoes. I give that a nice thumbs up. The fries were good. Maybe a little over cooked and harder for my liking. This is certainly a meal that requires a lot of napkins! Overall this is a place for good eats if you are craving something out of the ordinary. You'll leave full with your taste buds asking for more.
google avatar

Sandy H.

Yelp
Service was non-existent. The clerk stood behind the counter chatting with co-worker. We were forced to use the kiosk to place our order. Then the kiosk forces you to tip or you can't complete your order! Burger was just ok. Definitely not worth the price.
google avatar

Katherine V.

Yelp
I LOVE THE FOOD HERE it is the perfect place to go when your really hungry the fries are to die for!! Highly recommended this place should be talked more about the service is amazing too!
google avatar

Timerie B.

Yelp
Have been wanting to try this place for a bit.. I got the katsu curry burger. It was just ok. Super messy and hard to eat. I was surprised at how much the fries were. Kicker for me was that you have to use a little kiosk to order for yourself and then they make you pay $.29 to use it. Glad I tried it once..
google avatar

Gwen M.

Yelp
The menu is confusing. The food is just too big for lunch and just too overwhelmingly too spicy too much too everything. I really wants to like it. I was ecstatic at the thought of having another option in the strip mall near my office but the menu doesn't adequately assist non-experienced types like me and the counter man was little to no help so my experience was meh. I took more than half my food back to the office fridge then threw it out at the end of the week. What a waste.
google avatar

Colleen G.

Yelp
Food made with care by nice people. Quality ingredients. Clean and bright including bathroom. I absolutely hated the food. Breading and deep frying disguises the flavor of the meat. Two bites and I was over it. I ate the bun and veggies without the burger because I was super hungry. Fries are meh.
google avatar

No H.

Yelp
Eating here used to be good The service is friendly and the wait isn't bad either. Then last week, we ordered a few burgers and fries. The burger was so so. The fries were awful. It was over fried and the inside was empty. The most awful fries ever!! When you look forward to eating a burger, the fries are a must. McDonald's fries are better than theirs. The thinness of the fries reminds me of shoestring fries...yuck
google avatar

Yelp
When I was referred to this place from one of my coworkers, I had just assumed his "larger than life Fish story" about these burgers was just an exaggeration. I WAS WRONG! I work just around the corner, and never knew when this place had opened up. Either way, for our monthly birthday celebrations with our teammates, we decided to give this place a try. We had a variety on the order, but mine in particular was the Samurai Select Burger. I didn't read the fine print because I was lost after I had seen pineapple, but it has wasabi mayo.... And I absolutely HATE wasabi. Well, despite my torrid love affair with wasabi... the burger was surprisingly super tasty and unique. I have never had a beef burger that was lightly breaded, grilled or fried to perfection. Did I mention large? Let me rephrase that... these burgers were HUGE! The one thing about their ordering set up is, everything is pieced together. You can order A-La-Carte or in combo meals. You'll roughly spend upwards of $20 for a meal pending on the burger. Now let me talk about the fries... they have a variety to choose from, but I went with the Sea Salt, and man-o-man they are good and crispy! The customer service was excellent, but if you you arrive at a typical lunch hour (which is right when they open), they line can stack up on you. You might be waiting a while. I would suggest pre-ordering for pick up if you're short on time. The online option did not work out in my favor, as that was what I was instructed to do when I called in. When I arrived to pick up my order, they never received it, so we had to start all over and wait for everything to be cooked. Not their fault, the system they have seemed to have glitches. Either way, yes I had to wait a bit, but when I seen the look on people's faces when they opened their meal orders... wow. Priceless. Everyone completely enjoyed their meals!! Only one recommendation I would make... businesses all around you typically have their lunch hours beginning g from 10:00 and after. I'd bet you'd get more business if you opened a little earlier. Thanks for the experience and I'll be back for sure! As always, enjoy life and Happy Eating!

Yelp
We came here on opening day!! And since then, we've returned a number of times. To be honest though.... we've probably been to Katsu Burger 20 times over the last year. We've have ordered about half of the burgers on the menu. They're fast, consistent, and tasty. Their milkshakes are realllllyyyy good and we love all their sauces. Yes, we also really like their katsu bites, potato croquettes, and fries. While we've ordered everything here, today they surprised us with cute little doodles on our burger wrappers!!!
