Google
Donkatsu Done Right! Tucked inside the Hannam Korean grocery market, Katsu Nuna serves up perfectly crispy Japanese pork cutlets (donkatsu) alongside a lineup of comforting Japanese-Korean dishes. The vibe is casual and welcoming—great for both a quick solo meal or a laid-back lunch with family. Be sure to check out their weekday lunch specials—they’re tasty, filling, and a great deal!

Google
This is an excellent place to get restaurant quality katsu at a very reasonable price. I had the tonkatsu combo. It came with soup, cabbage salad, steamed rich, and a delicious katsu sauce. The cutlet was perfectly cooked, and the breading was light and crispy, as it should be.

Google
Second time ordering after 10 months. Slightly disappointed. They changed the takeaway packaging. The curry sauce has greatly been reduced. Not sufficient for the meal. Salad portion also reduced. Packaging also reduced in size.

Google
The food is was too DIE for!! First time coming here and it won’t be the last. If you’re looking for a taste of Japan this is the place. The staff was so kind and made sure to help us out. Everything was just such a nice experience, do recommend for anyone in the area.

Google
A little gem of a place nestled in Hanam Food Court . The Katsu is on point and the portion super generous . We had enough for two meals . Delicious and well worth the money

Daniel K.

Google
Cheese katsu combo was terrible. Portions are tiny. Cheese had the texture/consistency of rubber. The tiny cup of miso soup it came with was as bland as water. Katsu sauce was watered down so much it just flows off of the katsu when you try to dip it. Don't waste your money.

Google
Horrible, Ordered Hamburger Steak Meal. It does not taste like burger and very sweet like candy. The beef ball seems un cooked and the stainless water cup was smelly it has a foul smell like it was not been wash properly. Wasted my money.

Google

Yelp
I ordered and ate Hamburg. it as today's menu at the time. It was so delicious. If there is a discount, i will go one more time. And service is also nice. She packed kimchi for me. Thank you.

Yelp
This place is a hidden gem. We stopped by for a quick lunch and left seriously impressed. From the friendly staff to the generous portions, everything hit the mark. As we walked up, the staff greeted us warmly and pointed out the daily special--the OMG Hamburger Steak Special for $12.99; (we visited on a Friday). We ordered that along with the #1 Katsu, and both dishes delivered. The portions were big, packed with protein, and each plate came with rice, salad, and soup, all nicely presented. The location itself was clean, spacious, and had plenty of seating. No complaints at all. I'll definitely be coming back

Yelp
Great food option in a small food court connected to the Hannam grocery store. Ordered the chicken katsu curry and udon combo. The chicken was crispy, and the curry sauce tasted great (FYI I think it may have cheese inside). Would have liked more rice on the side. The udon soup was okay. It lacked flavor but wasn't bad. Service was good. Will return if I'm in the area.

Yelp
This little gem is located inside a small indoor mall. I got the OMG Hamburger Steak Special. It came with an okay soup which had fried tofu and some small veggies. Additionally, there was a side of rice and a small salad with some pickles that was nice. The Hamburger steak had two juicy patties with cheese on top. There was a delicious ketchup based sauce which had onions and mushrooms. Overall the OMG Hamburger was fabulous and reminded me of a dish my mom used to make which is a high compliment. The price point of $12.99 makes it a steal of a deal. Service was quick and friendly and would definitely recommend.

Yelp
Katsu Restaurant really nails that perfect crunchy-on-the-outside, juicy-on-the-inside cutlet. The flavors are simple but comforting, and everything just tastes freshly made. It's the kind of place you end up returning to without even thinking about it.

Yelp
One of the best Korean style katsus in Korea! The meat is tender and what really sets this spot apart is there sauce, sweet and savory. I love that they give vegetables and miso soup as well! Service is amazing as well. The owner is a sweet Korean lady who is super nice! Ambiance is food court like since it's inside the Korean store.

Yelp
Popping music and fantastic service, even for non-customers; what's not to love? Support this lovely lady. We were about to eat another food court restaurant's food at the table right in front of Katsu Nuna when our toddler decided to scream and cry at the top of her lungs. In comes Katsu Nuna's owner who cried, "Baby!" and had plopped a little pink robot by the cash register for her to watch. She remained calm the rest of the time while eating and watching the robot. When the robot ran out of power, the lady took it and charged it further so my toddler could still enjoy it. Wow...just wow. I noticed she is very proud of her food and restaurant and it shows in the way she interacted with her customers. We will definitely be back next time to support this business. Prices for Katsu are very reasonable and smell and look delicious from what I can see. I like that they have a variety of options (chicken, pork, cheese, fish, shrimp, curry) and udon / Katsu combos. Come support this wonderful lady!

Yelp
I really like this place for lunch. The staff is so friendly. The pork and chicken Katsu are both good. They are thin and crispy, the meat is tender. It's a lot of food, I can barely finish it when I'm super hungry. The salad is fresh shredded cabbage with a thousand- island type dressing. I love the pickled radish and the rice is standard. No complaints. I'll be back.

Yelp
Finally got to check this place out. It's been popping up on my Yelp. It's inside a super market so there's ample amount of parking outside. The food court was incredibly disappointing. I thought there would be a lot of other choices for us to try but there's 3 shops open and 3 empty spots. And let's just say we didn't want to try the other choices. On to the food. We ordered curry pork katsu and cheese pork katsu. The cheese pork katsu came luke warm which was incredibly disappointing. I was expecting burn my tongue hot as cheese does not taste as good cold. Also the pork was so dry that it was borderline hard. The miso soup was watered down (taste just like water with a hint of miso) the coleslaw salad was good. Fresh and crispy and I liked the sauce. I'm not sure what sauce came w this dish but I didn't like it. The curry pork katsu was better and the curry tasted really good. The batter was light and crispy but same issue w the pork...dry. Overall: service was fantastic and the lady offered free rice refill which was a major plus but there are many other katsu places in this area and the food court was a bust. Chances of return - most likely not.

Yelp
Food is good and the owner is so sweet. Well, I think she's the owner. We've tried this place twice already - one was takeout and one was dine in. They both taste the same on each occasion. Their sauces are delicious. And the udon broth is so good too! Everything was good. I believe I got the pork nuna and my husband got the chicken curry w udon combo (I'm not sure if I got the names right). This place is located inside Hannam Chain's food court. There's plenty of seating. We dined in for lunch and there were plenty of seats. Price was good too - I believe we spent $25-30 for 2 meals. There's a lot of parking spaces too. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
Always such good food! We've come a few times and the katsu is always excellent. Perfectly fried, paired with such a delicious sauce. This time we tried one of the combos with katsu and udon which was a great choice. The udon had so much flavor and the portions of both were large, the katsu came with salad, rice, and pickled radish. The service is friendly and helpful, the lady at the front was so kind to our son
google avatar

Jane L.

Yelp
Hate to bash a new place and the guy who took the order was super friendly. But it was quite possibly the worst katsu I have ever had. Basically tossed it after a bite because I also got chicken next door at Goobne. The location is inside the center for Hannam Chain market. One look at the meat and I knew it would be bad. The color was so off. A red/purple color. Didn't bother to take a photo because I will never order from there again. The sauce was also so mid. Looked so watery I didn't even bother with it. Whole plate tossed. I'm looking at other photos people posted and their meat looks okay. Maybe I was just super unlucky. Who knows...
google avatar

Alexis C.

Yelp
The katsu here was so good!!! The breading is really really light so it's not overly greasy. I'd suggest the classic pork. If you like curry that's also a good option. Honestly my favorite katsu I've had here in Torrance. It's so good and this was what I chose to be my first meal I had after coming back from Tokyo LOL. Nice spot in the Hanam Chain food court so the seating availability varies. Service was good and really fast, we got our food within 10 mins of ordering.

Yelp
I was looking for a katsu spot in Torrance and stumbled upon Katsu Nuna! It's a small food stall inside Hannam Chain Market. The owner is such a vibrant and sweet character which made the experience even better. I didn't get a chance to take a photo of my food because it was just that good. The chicken and pork katsu were excellent, perfectly crunchy breading and it is served with rice, salad, and soup. I'll definitely be back to try more from the menu!

Yelp
Cool little place... it's located inside a grocery store/ mini food court. We got our food pretty fast and it was delicious. We loved the curry it was the perfect consistency and it wasn't too thick.

Yelp
Located in the Hannam Chain Market food court, it's a solid place to get Korean styled katsu rice dishes. There's a limited amount of tables and seating, but my friend and I were able to snag a table before the super big rush of families coming in for Saturday lunch got there. Restrooms were nice and clean and there's free water, just ask for cups. Similar to all the other eateries in the food court, you have a buzzer that will summon you when the food is ready. Since they make the katsu hot and fresh, it make take a bit of time. The menu is quite simple and most come with a side of miso soup, takuan pickled radishes, and a simple chopped cabbage salad. I shared the cheese katsu with my friend and it's a decent portion. We asked for an extra dish to share and I got a cute Winnie the Pooh dish (probably meant for kids). The cheese katsu generally goes with their slightly savory, sour katsu sauce, but we were curious about the curry and the worker was nice enough to give us a small side of curry sauce to dip the katsu in (not bad, but they're right, the katsu sauce definitely goes better with the cheese katsu). The cheese is mozzarella cheese and they do NOT skimp on the cheese, super gooey. It's like a side of katsu pork with the main dish of cheese. It is a bit salty and really heavy to eat, but very filling, but not bad. If I'm back again, I want to try their hamburg steak.

Yelp
Located in the Hannam Chain food court. I was decently surprised by the Katsu here! Looks like a normal plate but the flavors were outstanding and the Katsu breading was sooo good! Like super light and flaky. And the curry flavor was on point as well. The plate came with miso soup and some cabbage salad. That Katsu though. The chicken was moist and had a good flavor to it. Just an outstanding dish. I only got to try a bite cause the family swarmed it... but it was a fantastic bite. I'll go out of my way to get this again. And next time, I'll have an entire plate to myself! Mua-ha-ha! Their other dishes looked outstanding as well and by looking at the reviews, it appears I may have to explore the menu a little more. Definitely coming back.
google avatar

Josh G.

Yelp
Took my son here and we both loved it. Really great katsu! Also the person taking our order was so friendly and helpful! Will definitely be back.

Susan K.

Yelp
One of my favorite spots! What I love most about this place is how clean and hygienic everything is. Every time I come, the fried dishes are super light and crisp -- so I asked them about it, and they told me they change the frying oil every single week. That really impressed me, and from then on, I've kept coming back. They've recently added lunch specials, which are very reasonably priced and come with generous portions. If you're looking for delicious food you can trust, this place is a must-try. Highly recommended!

Yelp
If you've heard great things about this place, believe them! This is a fairly new eatery inside the Hannam Chain Market. We initially came to the market specifically to try out Katsu Nuna. We've been here three time already, since it opened in Dec. of 2023! Over the three months, they've added a few things to their menu and have increased their prices. For example, their Fish Katsu & Udon Combo was $19.99 in Dec. 2023, and is $22.99 in Feb. 2024. I hope they don't raise their prices too much more, but I also hope that they remain open and succeed! I believe this stall is owned & run by a husband/wife team. The man behind the counter (Adolfo, I think), is friendly and welcoming. In fact, on our most recent visit, he remembered my husband ordered the Hamburg Steak last time! Here, you order at the counter, pay & receive a buzzer which lets you know when to go pick up your order. There are plenty of tables to eat at in the food court, for now. They really serve up delicious food! The menu is small and I feel that gives them the ability to focus and create consistent food. I love their Udon! The noodles have a nice chew to them and the broth is flavorsome! Back in Dec., it used to include two Shrimp Tempura in the Udon, but they have since omitted their inclusion. Boo hoo!! We've ordered the Fish Katsu & Udon Combo twice. I focus on the Udon and hubby eats the Fish Katsu. I enjoy their light breading on the katsu. The fish is nicely fried and succulent. Served with the fish katsu is a nice sauce, rice, slaw salad, pickled radish, & miso soup, Hubby has had the Hamburg Steak. I think he prefers this since it isn't a fried item even though the fish is great! I would love it if they would add another Combo of Hamburg Steak & Udon to their menu! Please!! I have my sights set on the Cheese Donkatsu, but I'm not so sure I'd want to eat 3 of them. I could probably only enjoy one because of the amount of cheese. We've already been here in Feb., but this month is still early, so I might be back before March arrives! This is definitely in our rotation of places to go! Visits: 12-04-2023, 01-10-2024, 02-02-2024

Yelp
The food + the service were amazing. My friends and I all got the #4 pork katsu curry and thoroughly enjoyed our meal choices! The woman working the the register was so very sweet & hospitable! 10/10 would go again :D
google avatar

Steve S.

Yelp
Affordable eats, generous portion. Once again, out and about with the kids and ate something they like. Typed in katsu around Torrance and this establishment popped up. We had the katsu combo with udon and another katsu combo with spicy noodle. For what it's worth, the meat and breading were good. The meat was thick and meaty. The breading was light and crispy. Came with a portion of shredded cabbage and rice. Not a fan of the sauce. How hard is it to make the sauce? Just some Worcester sauce, ketchup, and dash of soy sauce is all you need. The udon soup was blend and generic. The udon noodle was tender and does not feel cheap, frozen kind. The spicy noodle had various vegetables and a half of hard build egg for decoration but the flavor was sub par. As all mentioned, this place is in a small food court and finding a table to sit and eat during lunch time is difficult. However, parking is plenty as it is in a shopping area.
google avatar

Kody N.

Yelp
I would love to come again to try their other menu items! I got the cheese katsu and it was quite good and filling. Mozzarella as the cheese does make it feel a bit greasy or heavy but it wasn't bad by any means. The lady at the register gave us a stamp card and told us to come back if it was good or throw it away if it wasn't. But i'll definitely be coming back and make use of the stamp card.
google avatar

Earl U.

Yelp
Meat beaten into submission, breaded , deep fried, Dry. I'm wondering, what the before and after pictures of their pieces of meat were. All I can say is that this place is on par with the average places serving tonkatsu. Wish they would serve dark chicken meat and a more fatty cut of pork.
google avatar

Gwen K.

Yelp
The katsu was ok. But the rice that comes with it was at least 2 days old. When i talked to the cook, he seemed so not caring. I'd rather go to big chain restaurants where the quality is controlled meticulously than getting something from a local, aka unknown restaurants. Meh! Don't believe the all the stars u see on yelp!
google avatar

Lyle O.

Yelp
Tried Katsu Nuna just on a whim. We originally were planning on trying black bean noodles but them we stumbled across Katsu Nuna. The owner described it and emphasized the time and effort that went into making the Katsu so we decided to try it. We weren't disappointed. The chicken was moist and tender and both the curry and nuna sauces were tasty. It was a good dinner choice!
google avatar

Kylie O.

Yelp
What initially drew me to try Katsu Nuna was a picture of their cheese katsu and man it did not disappoint! You can find them inside Hannam Market in the food court section. It's been cool because they give you a buzzer which allows you to look around in the market until your food is ready. I actually took the cheese katsu to-go and I was surprised that it was still crispy by the time I got home! The only sad part was no cheese pull but that's okay because the taste made up for it! It came with miso soup, salad, rice, and this tomato-based sauce that went really well with the cheese katsu! Service was great, and the staff was friendly. There's lots of seating in the food court area which is great too. I'll def be back to enjoy it there and hope for a cheese pull!
google avatar

Scott K.

Yelp
Tried the cheese/pork katsu at this new place in the Hannam market food court and it was absolutely delicious! Cooked in the form of small cupcake sized individual cups, crispy bottoms and nicely cooked pork and cheese. The staff/owner was very kind and helpful, and made sure we had extra plates and chopsticks so we could share with my visiting parents (we were trying a little of everything in the food court that day). There are some nice tables and chairs to sit at if you have time or you can takeaway after a shopping trip at the attached market. There's also cold water and small cups available if eating there. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.
google avatar

Kate X.

Yelp
Katsu nuna is located in the food court of Hannam chain in Torrance. The food court was clean, had plenty of seating, and also a restroom nearby. I got the cheese katsu for ~$17, and the owner allowed me to substitute rice for more salad. The katsu were crispy and filled with gooey stretchy mozzarella cheese, and it was fun eating them with katsu sauce or sirarcha. This was a yummy and casual meal.
google avatar

Jeff K.

Yelp
It's great to have another option in the Hannam Chain Food Court! Both of the other two are great and Katsu Nuna should be able to hold its own here! I tried the Curry Donkatsu. The meat was cooked perfectly, seasoned well, and the curry sauce complemented the meat nicely. None of the flavors are very strong, but it was a very tasty meal. Service was excellent and prices are fair for the size of the meat. I'll definitely be coming back!
google avatar

Jimmy J.

Yelp
I had their cheese katsu and jjolmyun. They are a great combination to order as the tart and spice of the noodles really balance out the cheesiness of the katsu. Individually, both dishes are tasty, especially the katsu. The restaurant is part of hannam chains food court so you are expected to buss your own table.

Yelp
First visit to Katsu Nina in the newer Hainnan Plaza that occupies the huge Sports Authority footprint. The lady owner and her husband Adolpho were very patient, kind and accommodating. The menu is focused on Katsu and noodles. Every dish is made fresh, but the wait is worth it. The portions of our Katsu curry and regular Katsu is very generous, lean and crunchy ~ with a nice bowl of respective sauces. The curry sauce was good, although I personally it thicker and spicier but the Katsu sauce was delicious and different. Accompanied by miso soup and a nice cabbage salad with the tasty dressing. The tables In the eating area are constantly And thoroughly cleaned. We will certainly be back for a katsu fix.

Matt H.

Yelp
Katsu was fried well though the meat was incredibly thin. The Katsu sauce is 100% non traditional. It has a very strange flavor which I did not like. Please bring the regular Katsu sauce. I would not order again.
google avatar

Glen C.

Yelp
Located inside the Han Nam Chain food court in Torrance. I really wished I liked this place more. It's conveniently located and they provide large portions. Unfortunately the quality of the food is average. The cutlet is thin and dry. The udon tastes like it was instant. The rice was "old" or they served me from the bottom of the pot. The people at the counter were nice enough. The place is located in the food court so plenty of seating although you will need to bus your own plates.
google avatar

Arjun M.

Yelp
Incredible food and amazing service from the owner. The owner is a brilliant chef who always keeps the menu exciting. They always do the katsu right. Highly recommend!

Kyounggon P.

Yelp
The owner is so kind, and the food is delicious! They even gave me a drink coupon as a service and were great company. Above all, the pork cutlet was amazing! I was eating so quickly that I burned the roof of my mouth. Highly recommend! 사장님이 맛있고 음식이 착해요 서비스로 음료수 쿠폰도 주시고 말동무도 잘해주시고 기본적으로 돈까스가 너무 맛있어요 허겁지겁 먹다가 입천장 데였어요 강추!!

Susie J.

Yelp
This is a great place if you are craving Katsu! They have a variety of Katsu like pork, fish, and chicken. Food tastes great, portion is great, and service is wonderful!
google avatar

Linda R.

Yelp
Didn't expect this to be in a market but wow! The food was so good!! Seating may be a little tricky. Wish they had more seating for single people. Especially when most of the tables seat 4 but that's not in the control of the individual eateries. Would definitely return as this was some of the best Katsu I've had in a long time!
google avatar

Marissa T.

Yelp
The chicken katsu was amazing! I would highly recommend coming here for a nice meal. I'm picky with the chicken I consume and this place did not have me second guessing my bites.
google avatar

Marisa Y.

Yelp
It's very rare for me to be in the mood for katsu but I just might start eating it more after trying out this place! I heard this spot opened up recently inside the Hannam chain market. They have a small selection of different katsu dishes. I decided to get the Hamburg steak and Nuna Donkatsu. It took about 15-20 minutes for them to prepare our dish which is great to see all the food is made fresh to order. My favorite out of the two dishes definitely had to be the Hamburg steak. It was covered with a delicious tomato based sauce, cheese, and mushrooms. It was very filling and such a great deal for $18! The katsu was delicious as well but it wasn't very crispy. It pairs well with the katsu sauce. I can't tell if their katsu sauce was made in house but it's a lot better than the normal ones you get in a bottle. I'll definitely be coming back here again soon for the Hamburg steak. The nice thing about coming here is that you can get lunch and go grocery shopping after!
google avatar

Jessica D.

Yelp
absolutely love this place. the cheese katsu is so perfectly delicious- it's my favorite dish. the customer service is also phenomenal. i unfortunately don't remember the lady that helped me and my friend out but she deserves the world!!
google avatar

Robert O.

Yelp
For the price, very disappointed. Almost no meat and very basic breading. Would not try again. They also missed part of our order, however, they were very prompt in contacting us to tell us that part of the order was missing.

Yelp
** Return Visit on 12/16 ** So I went back and tried the Curry Tonkatsu meal and was more impressed the second time. The curry is ok; similar to the taste of Otoggi packaged curry without the spice; ate and mixed with the rice. Katsu seems to be eaten best plain. Did a takeout order and the team did an impressive packaging job so none of the precious contents would spill or leak. Also points for cutting a vent in the box so that crispy katsu would not get soggy! Best part of the 2nd visit? Check out the expanded menu choices and new combos. What a good value. The place might not be fancy but my tummy and wallet were full.

Yelp
Food court stall located in the Korean market. Great food and great service. Food came out hot and made to order. Fresh ingredients. Will be back. There are tables set up and all you have to do is grab one. The restaurants request that after your meal you take your tray and place in the baker's rack afterwards. As for the food, we got the chicken curry katsu. You get a breaded chicken katsu rice and veggies. It also comes with miso soup. There is also a side bowl of curry. We also got the cheese katsu. The cheese is ooey gooey melty and stretchy. Thinly sliced Pork is also inside the breading. Think of it as a breaded pork cup with the center being melted cheese. Kids loved this one as well.

Yelp
Yum! My second stop to Hannam Chain! The katsu was very delicious. There was no sauce or at least I did not notice it, but it was still yummy to eat. I liked it and would recommend, plus its priced well and its a ton of food.
google avatar

Danielle H.

Yelp
This was my first time eating in the food court at Hannam Chain, and I didn't have very high expectations since it's just a food court. Fortunately for me, Katsu Nuna was bomb!! The worker was very friendly and happy, which made the experience extra good. I got the Nuna Donkatsu and waited about 8 minutes before being called up to get it. It came with rice, salad, miso soup, danmuji (yellow pickled radish), and a bowl of sauce to dip the donkatsu in. The Donkatsu was so crunchy and tender, and the sauced paired very well with it. I love that it came with all the other items as well. It was a good meal that left me feeling satisfied and happy. Highly recommend coming here for a very chill, quick meal!
google avatar

David M.

Yelp
No proper greetings when entering restaurant, they gave me no utensils for pick up, and they finessed me with 4 shrimps on the shrimp curry Order. It ain't even 5 like how it is in the picture.
google avatar

Jocelyn P.

Yelp
This place is brand new! A welcome addition to the developing food court. I got the cheese donkatsu to share with my picky 5 year old and she ate like more than half of it. She loves cheese and crunchy stuff so I guess that makes sense. The guy who works there who I assume is the owner is super nice. Just order and wander around the Korean market or the Korean bakery until your buzzer goes off. This time, I got a Hamburg steak and I'm headed home with my order. I'm happy this place is here and I hope they are successful!

Sally G.

Yelp
Amazing katsu place in Torrance. Cheese katsu is my favorite! Service is awesome too.
