Katsuya Review - Downtown LA - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"With locations everywhere from the Bahamas to Dubai, Katsuya has become the universal symbol of “see and be seen” sushi. But despite its somewhat smothering presence throughout LA, it's still a solid choice for sushi enthusiasts—especially if you’re looking for a nice, sit-down dinner just a few steps away from the Microsoft Theater and Crypto Arena. The massive restaurant has plenty of space for groups, but you should definitely book a reservation ahead of time for event nights. photo credit: Katsuya" - Nikko Duren

Katsu-Ya Review - Studio City - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"If you are reading this and have a passing interest in sushi, you have heard of Katsu-Ya. With locations from LA Live to Dubai, Katsu-Ya has become the universal symbol of “see and be seen” sushi. But despite its somewhat smothering presence throughout LA, its original location in Studio City is still a must for all sushi enthusiasts. Crowds are intense, but you can keep your stilettos and sugar daddies at home here. This is the stripped-down holy grail of one of the biggest names in the game." - Jess Basser Sanders

I came to Katsuya for the Saturday brunch. Beautiful outdoor area with DJ, live grill station, sushi and great Japanese food selection. Our waiter was Satia, very welcoming and professional. And the taste was better than I expected. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for good quality Japanese food in Dubai. Also everything was accompanied perfectly with cocktails.

My friends and I had Saturday brunch here. Lovely atmosphere with Japanese decoration. Super friendly staff Ali. Food was good but not many options for buffet. Wine package was worth it with options: gold flakes sake, cocktails, wine, beers.

Katsuya in Dubai stands out as an exceptional Japanese restaurant, meriting a perfect 5/5 rating. The service is notably amazing, complementing the delectable food offerings. Highlights include the flavorful karaage and the succulent wagyu tacos, with the unique corn sushi also making a delicious impression. Although dessert options are limited, the overall dining experience at Katsuya remains outstanding, making it a must-visit for fans of Japanese cuisine. A bit on the expensive side at 250-350 AED per person

A new location and it comes with lot more vibes & aesthetics. Love the interior and overall atmosphere of this place. I went to Katsuya for dinner in their new location which is located on the 4th floor Hyde hotel / business bay. I went there on Wednesday night and absolutely loved it there. The food is absolutely delicious from starters to the desserts everything on the menu a gastronomic experience. A must visit place for Japanese cuisine lover. Highly recommend, they even recently added Saturday brunch if you fancy an Asian vibrant Saturday brunch experience. Thanks team Katsuya for creating such an exotic experience for your guests.

Nice Japanese cuisine, overlooking the Business bay with the canal. Food is good (liked the most the corn suchi & wagyu beef) But is expensive compared to the quality in my opinion. You shouldn't miss the dragon egg as a desert. They didn't have Japanese cake. Tempura was very poor and didn't like the taste at all. Menu didn't have prices which is also something I didn't like! Service crew is excellent as well as the location/view. The restaurant is on the 4th floor of Hyde hotel. Vipes are great, we paid on avg prices per person is 300 aed

I came to this place with high expectations as they have high Google scores and magazine recommendations. The sushi was tasteless, miso soup too, there was no salmon tar tar on the menu, the waiter assured me that it would not be difficult for them to cook, but he forgot that I asked for Not Spicy sushi earlier, and brought me a small portion of tar tar with rice chips, the dish was super spicy and I refused it. Cocktail was not bad but too sour and even the extra syrup didn't help. In short, this place is not Japanese food, it is something in between and the prices are not up to expectations. 3,5*

Another addition modern fusion Japanese restaurant to the food scenery in Dubai. This restaurant used to be in Dubai mall and was very successful. Then it moved to a Naseem hotel. Now it has opened in Business Bay. Better than expected. For now my rating is Good as there is room for improvement but it is worth another visit. Decor is chic and charming. The restaurant has a large terrace outside which is good during winter time but I am not sure how they are going to manage during summer time as the indoor seating is small. Service was good.

So Katsuya has moved around in Dubai over the years… it’s new location is beautifully set on the water. Installed in the new Hyde Hotel too. Food as expected was superb. Service was great from the staff which is instilled a little humor! The black cod was the star of the show ! So much so 3 we’re ordered. A must visit!
