Katy's Cafe

As an IB resident, it is truly a pleasure to have a café like Katy’s in my neighborhood. The vibe is chill, cool, cozy. Very IB. If you know you know. The staff is so friendly and have great, positive rapport between each other and with their clientele. Several of them know me by name and know my order by heart. The music is always good & at the right decibel level to be enjoyable but not intrusive. The coffee, other drinks and food items are all deelish. Sometimes I am just in and out. Sometimes I end up spending hours there. Always it feels like home. Treat yourself to a visit to Katy’s if you haven’t yet. You’ll defs keep coming back. PS. There’s excellent pizza at Luigi’s right across the street, Ye Olde Plank, a cool, fun, funky dive bar just up the street. Plus other good places to chow within easy walking distance and always nice to stroll on the beach. Katy’s is the perfect place to start to get to know the USA’s Most Southwesterly City. Provecho! I love the small town atmosphere of Katy's. I go there every morning to sip a delicious coffee and share the latest about the community and neighborhood. The baristas are all so charming and entertaining! Don't forget to bring your dog for a pup cup. This little cafe is a gem!

One of the best cafés in San Diego. The food was excellent; tasty and freshly made. There is indoor and outdoor seating available as well as a short walk to the beach. A must stop in SD.

Katy’s Café has officially become one of my favorite breakfast spots in all of San Diego, and that says a lot. I moved here in 2022, and this is easily one of the best breakfasts I’ve had since arriving. Everything tastes incredibly fresh, and you can see them preparing your food right in front of you, which gives you total confidence in what you’re eating. Nothing hidden, nothing crazy, just honest, delicious food made with care. The breakfast menu is loaded with options. There are so many different breakfast sandwiches and hearty plates to choose from, and everything is made with quality ingredients. On top of that, they have an impressive selection of morning drinks, both hot and cold. Coffee, espresso drinks, smoothies... whatever mood you’re in, they’ve got something great for it. The vibe here is warm, relaxed, and welcoming. You can tell the team truly cares about what they do and takes pride in serving great food. Every visit feels just as good as the last, and the consistency is something I really appreciate. If you’re in Imperial Beach and looking for a fresh, delicious, and satisfying breakfast made by people who genuinely care about their craft, Katy’s Café is absolutely worth a visit. I highly recommend it.

This sandwich was honestly one of the best sandwiches I’ve tried in a while!! This was the Cafe Club Sandwich. The texture of the bread was amazing, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. I also had the iced caramel macchiato coffee which was exquisite. Perfect amount of caramel for someone who loves caramel!! Totally recommend!!! 100/10;) Just to warn you, they stop serving food at 1:30 pm, but still serve coffee and smoothies.

Small coastal cafe with nice breakfast two steps from the ocean. Good quality coffee. Mermaid special is my favourite coffee there

Perfect coffee shop by the beach ⛱️ this is truly one of those local cozy places that just has that good morning vibe! The coffee was excellent, the service was very friendly, Has the bacon croissant with eggs and avocado. Lots of bacon and perfectly cooked fried eggs!! The caramel macchiato was delicious! Has indoor and a couple of tables outdoors. Got to sit and chat with a friend for hours. It's the kind of place where you can relax! Wish I would have known about it sooner! Will definitely be coming here often. Street Parking out front, went around 8am found parking right away. Great little cafe with good breakfast and lunch options.

I just LOVE this place. So adorable and other places in IB should take notes from this place. It has honed in on something IB needed. Fresh and local and Did it right. Its hard to not like what's going on here. I've been coming here intermittently since Katy opened her doors and frankly the new ownership is doing just as good if not better. The simple attention to detail is much appreciated. The lattes are just gorgeous, and I love to just step in for a quick bite and drink.
