"If you’re a breakfast fiend, Katy’s is the place to go with its extensive eggs Benedict menu featuring everything from a Dungeness crab version to one with a corned beef hash. The omelettes are also worth a mention, as are the sandwiches, if you’re looking to go rogue from the egg options." - Dianne de Guzman

It was a very mixed meal. My guest ordered the Lobster Benedict. It looked fabulous. The eggs done perfectly, but the lobster was over cooked, stringy and inedible. Very disappointing. I got the corned beef and hash with two over medium eggs. It was tasty, but again, the corned beef was cooked separately from the cottage style red potatoes. Not really a hash, but it tasted good. So, it was a mixed review. Next time, I will order the pancakes!

Our recent breakfast visit to Katie's Kitchen in Walnut Creek was nice! The Egg Benedict was cooked to perfection - absolutely delicious! The hamburger made with certified Angus beef. The patty was generous, juicy, and full of flavor. While the restaurant can get a bit crowded, the ambiance is warm and inviting. If you're in Walnut Creek, Katie's Kitchen is a must-visit for breakfast or brunch. Be prepared for a possible wait, but trust us, it's worth it!

Google
Love this place! Been here a couple of times so far. First time, I got the steak and eggs. They unfortunately overcooked the steak but it tasted fine otherwise. Second time, I got the Santa Fe Benedict with bacon (pictured) with country potatoes and it was delicious! The restaurant was packed but we got our food within 10 mins of ordering and the staff were all nice.

Properly poached eggs benedict with fresh hollandaise sauce, salmon baked just right, strong mango mimosa

Google
Hands down the top 3 breakfast meals I've ever had in my life. I ordered the crab egg Benedict and it was so delicious. They have a huge variety of breakfast foods and lunch menu. I'd definitely recommend trying this place. Also their bloody Marys are a hit.

Google
Visited for a late breakfast to this cozy restaurant on a Saturday. Service was good; good food, we really enjoyed the pancakes. We also had Huevos Rancheros, which was ok and the Tri-tip Benedict with Asparagus and 3 eggs, which was good and would order again. The fresh squeezed OJ was wonderful.

Felicity

Google
Loved the decor/atmosphere! Ordered the Bacon, Avocado, Cheese Omelet. It was cooked a bit too long for my taste and the avocado is cooked in the mixture instead of ontop. The country potatoes were PHENOMENAL! I dunno how or what they put in them, but they were the best I've eaten in my life. Very friendly staff too.

Google
Excellent food .. Excellent atmosphere.. Excellent service! Celia was absolutely wonderful! I ordered the smoked salmon Benedict with hollandaise sauce on the side.. yum!

Yelp
We had an amazing breakfast and the customer service was excellent. The omelets are to die for. The decor felt like a high end barn in Napa.

Yelp
Since my last experience 17 years ago, I've never been back to Katy's Kreek. But the honey loves benedicts and that seems to be their specialty, so we decided to drop in. Katy's Kreek has limited outside seating (two tables) and our service was prompt. The honey enjoyed his benedict (which came with three poached eggs), but my eggs, bacon, and potatoes? No. 17 years later and it's still no. The egg whites were the only positive. The potatoes were incredibly oily and the bacon? It was worse than the free bacon they give at a hotel lounge. Dry and overcooked (and I prefer my bacon crispy) - it was just bad. So in 17 years it seems they haven't changed much, other than inflation catching up to their prices.

Nichole H.

Yelp
Service was great and I really loved the ambiance (aside from the signs written in permanent marker talking in demeaning ways about men/husbands, which felt a bit weird and out of place..) The crab bennie had a ton of shells in it so I didn't finish it, but my husband loved the breakfast nachos. Miss for me, but he enjoyed it well enough.

Yelp
It's a pretty nice place but it was eerily empty on Tuesday for lunch. Five of us were there for lunch. Three different servers helped us - after we had to wave to get their attention! We ordered breakfast and lunch items. The breakfast potatoes were under cooked. The "little spicy" chilaquillas dish was way too spicy. Will not return.

Christine C.

Yelp
So the good and the bad... The good is that the staff is friendly and the ambiance on the patio is warm and relaxed. The bad is that the food is not worth the price. I ordered a very basic breakfast plate, something I figured couldn't be messed up: two scrambled eggs, three small cakes and sausage and bacon. The eggs were worse than I've had from hotel breakfast buffets. Overcooked, under-seasoned scrambled eggs. The pancakes were flat and rubbery. Flatjacks instead of flapjacks. The sausage and bacon were nicely done, good crisp on the bacon. It would have been nice if there was any kind of plant on the plate, either a slice of orange or a bit of greens. They charge 18.99 for this plate, can they not add even the semblance of special touches? Otherwise, what's to differentiate this plate from a Denny's special? Nothing but the price my fellow breakfast lovers. Go to Denny's instead and pay half this for the same exact thing. It might even be better. if you're seeking a nice atmosphere and service with a smile, but don't mind if the food isn't great, Katy's is a good fit.

Yelp
I went to brunch here w/meat-eating neighbors .. they were all thrilled w/their selections but for me the only vegan choice was a token veggie burger, fries & salad- very sad ! ( & not very good either ! ) Service was fairly quick, it was quite busy & the servers knowledge of vegan options was non- existent & did not feel very accommodating, but this was a meal based on the company, not the food ( for me) It was kind of noisy & crowded & bustling so it seems like a popular place to eat, has a family friendly atmosphere & decor but not my cup of tea !

Maribel H.

Yelp
Came for breakfast at 11am on a Saturday. They were not busy. Sat at the bar for 10 min and not one of the 8+ people working (most behind the bar) said hello, here's a menu, nothing. Made direct eye contact with at least 3 workers. We used to like this place, but thats the worst customer service. We just left...going to have breakfast where we can be acknowledged and fed.

Carmen R.

Yelp
Celebrated my 14yo daughters birthday after her soccer game. Customer service was spot on, the food was delicious. I had the hot chocolate and huevos rancheros. The portions were good, the food was great. The ambiance was really cool too. Wasn't too noisy. Didn't feel rushed and we took a while after our conversations. We did have one hiccup. My niece did ask for Nutella on her French toast but said it was chocolate syrup and not Nutella.

Scott A.

Yelp
Such a great place. It has old California charm and great food. We love them for breakfast but the lunch / dinner menu is great as well. You have to try one of their Benedict dishes. That said, I love the biscuits and gravy but definitely ask for extra gravy! The Katy's Kakes are awesome too and the syrup is so good. The staff is really friendly and will help make any changes or substitutions. Give them a try!

Molly B.

Yelp
I like this place! the dining area has a cool, dark, and welcoming atmosphere . I will say the service isn't the most attentive, there weren't too many tables around and we didn't really get checked in on at all, the food however is pretty good! I had the tri tip sandwich which was really yummy.

K G.

Yelp
The service was superb when we walked in we were greeted and asked to sit wherever we would like. We ordered OJ and a bloody Mary. Needless to say the bloody Mary was very tasty. We ordered the French toast combo and the three pancake combo. The French toast were moist and very tasty, they hit the spot as well as the pancakes. The food came out to perfection. Definitely recommend this place and five star service.

Sean G.

Yelp
Great breakfast burritos in a great part of town but the service was alright. It took a while to get my order placed, coffee refills and my check. I wouldn't mind coming back to see if it was just an off day.

Laura O.

Yelp
Such sunny happy people work here! We've been here twice,so far, and the food and atmosphere were wonderful. Definitely a stop I will make whenever I'm in the area.

Laura S.

Yelp
I come here every time I get my car serviced at Walnut Creek Honda. The food is always tasty and the service is always quick and friendly. There are very few good diners in the area! One of my favorite places to eat.

Lahna C.

Yelp
I came to katys so hungry and this shows up. I must say it was the best waffle I've eve had.

Frankie M.

Yelp
The service was extremely fast and everyone was very friendly! The eggs were perfectly poached and everything was delicious

Bebe C.

Yelp
Me and my husband were visiting family and decided on brunch . Great service at the bar where we ate. Husband and I went on a Sunday date. Walked the farmers market on way there. The waitress was attentive answered our questions since it was our forest time here. I ordered the crab Benedict which was flavorful . Great portion, husband got the Turkey Benedict. Also very flavorful. The country potatoes were on point as well. Will be returning when in town again.

Bryan R.

Yelp
Had a delightful visit to Katy's Kreek! The service was lightning-fast and our server's smile was as warm as the freshly brewed coffee. The food arrived quickly and was absolutely delicious. The vintage atmosphere added a charming touch to our dining experience, and the menu had a fantastic array of options. My wife was particularly thrilled with her steak breakfast. We'd come back in a heartbeat!

Ramona G.

Yelp
Good choice for breakfast in Walnut Creek! I grew up in San Ramon so I've been to Katy's Korner a handful of times. I didn't make the connection until my sister told me recently that the two restaurants have the same owner. I came here last week for breakfast with my friend. We came early on a Friday morning so there was no wait. I got the Dungeness Crab Benedict $19.99 which comes with 3 crab bennys! I've never seen a place serve 3 before! the crab is served on a bed of spinach and covered with hollandaise sauce. I got it with hash browns and the portions were big enough that I had leftovers to take home. The food and service were both on point. They have over 10 different types of Eggs Benedict options on their menu so if that's your favorite breakfast order, then Katy's Kreek is the place for you!

marty a.

Yelp
My daughter and myself love eggs Benedict! Nothing worse than hard boiled won your Benedict! Our waitress immediately got me soft poached eggs.

Isabella N.

Yelp
Service is okay, but the food is always so good whenever I go! My sister and I love their burritos here, and the price is fair.

Dana S.

Yelp
My mom and I came on a busy Sunday morning but we were seated pretty quickly. This was both of our first times here. Prices were super affordable. Service was quick. Food came out quickly. Servers checked on us frequently. Food was tasty! Very pleasant time here. Enjoy!

Jadah H.

Yelp
THEY HAVE ROACHES!!!!!! we ordered food to go and ate it in the car. we placed all our food on the dash. half way through we noticed a roach on the dashboard. we pronotly spat out our food and now we're looking for the roach

Kelley K.

Yelp
Five stars are for the servers! All of the servers are amazing! My Godchild loves this place. Truth be told, not my first choice for breakfast/brunch. But I end up here often enough. The food is solid, 4 stars always at least. Generally plates of food are not served hot. I want my food hot in temperature. Their potatoes are the star here. Most places I get a salad instead of potatoes. Never here, get the potatoes! They have a full bar, and know what they are doing when it comes to making a drink. Enjoy!

Jamee S.

Yelp
What a great place for breakfast, brunch or lunch!! Super friendly service. Everyone was so nice and personable. Decent choices on the menu. They've got A variety of egg benedict dishes, omelets, breakfast plates, pancakes, waffles... and then you flip the menu and you've got salads, burgers and sandwiches! So many things to choose from. The portions are huge. They serve Peet's coffee and they have a bar. My party ordered: Green Omelet, a chorizo Omelet, and I got the Chicken Cobb Salad. Everything looked amazing and tasted delicious! We had a birthday to celebrate and the staff delivered a plate of fresh berries and a crepe while singing Happy Birthday! So cute. Definitely will come back. Lots of parking for being in downtown Walnut Creek.

Parry T.

Yelp
Excellent food, attentive service. Pretty reasonably priced, especially for Walnut Creek. Kinda dark interior for a breakfast place but I wouldn't let that make my decision. They have everything that matters down pat.

Roger H.

Yelp
My recent experience at Katy's Kreek was really disappointing. I meet up with a friend here a few times a year for their eggs Benedict. This morning, both of our crab Benedict's were just awful and the potatoes were burnt. The eggs were cold as were the soggy English muffins. The crab wasn't fresh. It just missed it on every mark. Service was good. They offered to make something else for us but we declined. They did not charge us for the two entrees that we did not eat. Although it was a fail on this particular entree I will give Katy's Kreek another try.

Jackson A.

Yelp
Brunch with lots of menu options for our large party of 20 people. Service was excellent and the food was just as good. Lots of people on a Sunday morning enjoying food, ambience and conversation. A Nice place to relax and enjoy a great and awesome meal with family.

Leanna S.

Yelp
Katy's Kreek has been in WC as far as I can remember, so I was excited to come back here. Came on a Friday morning so it was quieter (vs weekends) Minimal staff. Food was average (good) but nothing outstanding. I did love my French toast but my husband felt his Benedict was ok (and their most popular items are Benedict's) I don't know if I'd come back during the weekend when there's a huge wait.. but it is very kid friendly so that is always a bonus. WC needs more breakfast/ brunch spots without huge waits or needs more reservation options. Katy's Kreek will probably be added to the rotation of brunch spots but won't sit at the top of the list.

Kris B.

Yelp
Love this local breakfast place! I would have loved to have one of their famous Bloody Marys but I had a lot of driving today. They were very accommodating with my order: I ordered the California Benedict but subbed bacon for the sliced turkey. Then sliced tomatoes instead of potatoes. It was delicious! Piles of bacon and fresh avocado, perfectly poached eggs, lovely hollandaise. Lots of free iced tea refills and also got an iced tea To Go. They let us sit for a long time talking and didn't try to rush us out. (There was nobody waiting and lots of empty tables) Highly recommend this joint. I'm sure it's crowded on the weekends!

Savannah R.

Yelp
I visited Katy's Kreek on 10/31/22 for breakfast. Food: I decided to order the Dungeness Crab Benedict. The entire dish was pretty tasty, especially the Hollandaise sauce. The potatoes were also seasoned to perfection. I probably would ask for the potatoes to be a little more crispy next time, personally. All in all, the meal was filling. Service: The restaurant wasn't busy, so I was able to choose my seat. After placing my order, I received my meal within 15 minutes. That was pretty fast. The staff members were extremely pleasant, too. I loved how they welcomed me inside with a warm "Good morning." Ambiance: The establishment had a nice, cozy feel. Overall, I would return to Katy's Kreek. The breakfast food is truly good.

Yelp
Excellent breakfast this Saturday, February 10, 2024. Over the top great service as server took care of water, asked if we wanted additional whip cream on our cafe mochas and asked several times if everything was all right. Also, just a pet peeve of mine but these guys met it as they have a huge selection of the Smuckers jams for toast if you have that. Great atmosphere in here and was plenty of seating at 8:15 am but was filling up quickly by the time we left. Definitely recommend giving this place a try if you are in downtown Walnut Creek, California!

Nancy H.

Yelp
Always great food! Seafood salad is one of my favorites. Fresh crab & juicy shrimp and lots of it! If your craving healthy Seafood, this is on point. Ordered to go & still as fresh as eating in.

Christine S.

Yelp
Best restaurant for breakfast in the Walnut Creek area. We love the atmosphere and vibe and always have great staff and service. I've taken friends and family and they've all enjoyed it!

Jean-Marc T.

Yelp
The food hot and looked great. Challenging to fit it in my mouth. Was appetizing and delicious. Service was clean and not that slow. And the ambiance was indoor patio. And there is an inside too.

Kirk R.

Yelp
If you are ready to indulge and not counting calories today or throwing Keto to the wind, this place is for you. My wife has been a eggs Benedict fan since we first met 33rd ago, me not so much, until we found this place. The service is great, the portions, Huge, three poached eggs for their benedict. We always split a meal. As for their Hollandaise sauce, the best I've ever tasted. Rich, Silky , and just the perfect amount of lemony flavor. Their country potatoes are off the hook as well.... Highly recommend. Parking can be a challenge on the weekends up front but there is a parking garage just down the block.

Lydia S.

Yelp
Enjoyed a delicious lunch date here today. I ordered the Santa Fe Eggs Benedict & my partner ordered the Cobb Salad with a substitute of ranch for blue cheese dressing. The service was quick, friendly and so human! I loved the atmosphere of the interior, like being in a Paris cafe. It's absolutely charming with such a welcoming staff. The food was also delightful, with fresh and bold flavors that enticed our tastebuds!!

Katherine B.

Yelp
Honestly , horrible restaurant with horrible staff. There are so many servers and yet they can never check on a table in a timely manner. It feels like an inconvenience to the servers anytime you ask for anything at all. I've been here a few times and it is always such a terrible experience. The food is often served cold , which after waiting so long for it , you end up just eating it. This place should be closed due to health reasons , but also because of the rudeness of staff and subpar food.

Jaclyn M.

Yelp
This is one of the only places that is open before 11am in this part of Walnut Creek, and at first I was hesitant from the reviews, but after eating here I was surprised! S E R V I C E: We were seated right away and were offered either outdoor or indoor seating. We chose a round table towards the back inside. The decor was pretty cool - lots of huge paintings everywhere and brick walls. Our waitress was very nice, and we didn't have to wait too long for our food! F O O D: I ordered their smoked salmon Benedict and it was delicious! It wasn't fishy and the potatoes were very flavorful and crispy. Their mimosas were awesome because they give the purée or shot of the fruit you want, and you mix it yourself with the champagne. You can choose how much champagne you want in your mimosa! I really liked having that option because sometimes the champagne is too strong. I also recommend ordering their Blintzes with berries! I didn't get to take a nice photo of it because they looked so good haha, but it brings me back to childhood! O V E R A L L: I wouldn't mind coming back here for breakfast! They have a big menu, so there plenty of options for everyone!

Anand P.

Yelp
Really good ambience and killer vibes for breakfast, brunch and lunch! Definitely try the eggs Benedict, Turkey club, and potatoes. The kids menu is great, I highly recommend the kids stack of pancakes! Be sure to also ask about their cocktails because they have a full bar!

Linda C.

Yelp
I went on a Saturday at noon and was seated promptly. It was decent weather and asked to sit outside. The food and service were good. My only reason for removing a star was no one came to take our drink orders till our food order was taken. I would go back. The food was good.

Keith K.

Yelp
My first visit and my last. Visually the establishment is nice. Service is not good. They take your order and then they don't return till they bring the bill. I ordered the corned beef hash. It literally had no flavor. I could only taste the green onion. The mushrooms were barely cooked and the hash was watery. I also ordered a coffee. It costs almost $4 for a cup and that is all I got was one cup. They didn't come by and ask how the food is. They have walked by 5 times not saying anything though I had an empty coffee cup. Definitely not coming back.

D. Y.

Yelp
Katy's Kreek is okay, but really not special. Service is fantastic. Fast without pressuring you. Food comes out quickly, but that is where things trip up a bit. Food & drinks are okay at best. Even the Benedicts they are so renown for. Ambiance is very nice. Location near the farmers market is convenient.

Heather M.

Yelp
Breakfast at Katy's Kreek .... Egg white greek omlette with side salad and mimosa. My friend had the oatmeal. Service was fast and great!

Ed D.

Yelp
Lively. Great breakfasts. How does one make French toast stand out? Katy's does that. Sausages and bacon are not frozen bat tastes fresh and a cut above usual diner fare. I'll have to come back to try lunch and dinner fare. Service alert and amiable. Thank goodness for immigrants! In

Yuko E.

Yelp
So last weekend I needed a new brunch spot in Walnut Creek and Kathy's Kreek came up, I loved the fact they had outside sitting and reservations not required. Interior looked dull and it's definitely time for a renovation but outside was the charm so I sat outside plus it was just beautiful that morning. The servers were so nice and kind we had a huge spill at out table and they helped us clean up no grumpy attitude or fussing they were just sweet. Orders where taken and made on time and they came out beautiful! I had the strawberry Belgian waffle and fries and my friend had the Eggs Benedict and they were amazing! They have the best fries in Walnut Creek as far as I'm concerned I'll definitely be going back or ordering take out I'm giving a 4 star because interior and utensils need a little love and change...

Patrick S.

Yelp
This was great for breakfast/brunch. We were a party of 5 with 2 kids. We were seated right away. Our orders came pretty fast. My only problem with my order was that my mixed berry waffle came with no mixed berries, but I improvised with all the jelly packets & didn't mention it. Everyone else liked their order. The irish coffee was strong & good. I came away full, since I had a taste from everyone's order. The ambiance was pleasant, I liked the decor, staff was friendly. I would recommend this place.

Lynda R.

Yelp
Love the food here, service it's amazing! They are full most of the time, but you are able to get a table fairly quickly.

Dario C.

Yelp
This place is always awesome! The food, the drinks, Service, and parking seems to always be available.
