It really doesn't matter how I feel about Katz's, since they're closed, but I'll go ahead and say this: I respect those of you who are kosher, but no bacon equals a big fail in my book. Also, menu said the Tavern On the Green salad would have fresh chicken breast on it. I was expecting, y'know, grilled chicken. What I got was cold cut chicken. Another fail.

We went to have late-night dessert but the slices of pie and cake were all over $6, so we decided to have breakfast. The selections on late-night menu are scant. The eggs were tepid. The only options for pastry were toast and English muffin, no bagels. The potato pancakes are obviously frozen food, poorly reheated and bad tasting. The worst was that both my friend and I were severely sick within hours of eating and spent the next day sick.

Well, when it was opened I really liked this place. Good pastrami, buckets o' pickles and they had a morning happy hour that started at 7am for those people who worked the night shift like myself. Too bad it closed.

I ate here years ago and loved the pastrami and the late night availability. Now I'm sad it's closed.

It's not my kind of sandwich place... maybe a little too new-jersey-sauerkraut-sandwich-cuisine for me
